Chapter Text
Ryo Inui could admit that she never really planned on getting to know Izuku. But, the second she saw those eyes asking for help with ketchup covered fur, she was smitten.
“Y-You…you’re way too cute!” She said with mock-frustration. She took off her muzzle, using her mouth to pick the boy up by his scruff to take him to the washroom. The bunny just hung limply, allowing for the unorthodox form of transportation. Maybe she just didn’t want her hands to get dirty.
As they turned a corner, they came across Aizawa, in a heavily bandaged state, making her way back to the lounge in preparation for the day’s class. What she came across was Hound Dog holding Izuku in her mouth as he was soaked in something red. So, she made the only rational assumption.
“DROP HIM! NOW!”
He eyes flashed red, and she tackled the Wild Dog Hero. While in cast. Ryo just whimpered as Aizawa came for her.
“Wait wait WAIT!”
Izuku was dropped on the floor quickly. He stood there looking like a messy child with their hands innocently raised as the two adults fought. He took in a breath before walking off to find someone to held him wash off. It didn’t take long to find someone. He nearly collided with the clean pants of All Might before looking up.
“Ah! Young Izuku! How may I help you?” Despite her offering her services to him, Izuku noticed that she seemed a bit weary of him…was it because he hasn’t given her many hugs, if any at all? Well, maybe she could get more if she didn’t leave so quickly! Izuku showed the Number One hero his ketchup covered hands, and then made a rubbing motion with them to symbolize washing.
“Ah, you need to do some washing up. Well never fear! I am here to aid you!” All Might said to the rabbit, doing a pose with her signature laugh. When she looked at him, she could see an incredible glimmer of admiration and infatuation in the small rabbit’s eyes. His hands were clasped, and his small tail was wiggling. All Might…loved this. She loved making people feel safe and happy, yeah. But having this little bunny look at her with this kind of admiration was something else.
Within the hall too was Class 1-B’s homeroom teacher, Vlad Queen. She watched in disappointment and jealousy in herself, having never had the boy to interact with for a few minutes.
“We have arrived!” All Might announced as she placed Izuku down from his hold under the armpits. She had brought the boy around to the stray hose around the back of the dorms. She stepped over and grabbed the hose.
“All righty Young Izuku! Ready?” She said as she turned to look back at the boy, who hand gone bit stiff. He provided a shaky nod, bracing himself for something. She gave him a thumbs up and turned on the hose. The boy was ready for a blast of water to come out that would be crushing him against a wall, leaving him vulnerable and unable to use his quirk. Instead, he was surprised by the stream of water just being moderately being sprayed over his head.
He blinked in confusion as the ketchup washed from his fur.
“Sorry about the strange method, but I decided it’d probably be better if you weren’t seen like this being carried into a washroom by a teacher. It might give students the wrong idea." All Might explained. Izuku smiled, starting to speed up the process by rubbing the ketchup out of his fur. It only took a few minutes to finish up, and Izuku shook himself dry while heating himself up.
“All good now, young Izuku?” All Might asked the boy. He nodded, and hopped over to All Might and gave her a hug.
“Thanks!” Izuku says, a bright smile on his face. It was more than enough to make her feel like she was at 100% again.
All of class 1-A waiting on their teacher to arrive for their Homeroom. They weren’t expecting to have Aizawa back due to her injuries, so they were expecting to wait on a substitute. In the meantime, everyone was making idle discussions. Izuku however was zoning out. His mind went back to the USJ, that Nomu, and that bunny. He broke his pencil between his fingers
The door slid open, surprising everyone as they saw Aizawa enter the room covered head-to-toe with bandages! Even Izuku was concerned about what Aizawa was doing despite her injuries.
“M-Ms. Aizawa! Are you sure your okay to proceed with class like normal?!” Iida asked her heavily injured teacher.
“I’m fine. Recovery Girl just went overboard on my treatment. We have more important matters to attend to.” Aizawa said with a firm tone, making everyone tense up. Even Izuku seemed slightly stressed, and he normally wasn’t paying full attention.
“The Yuuei sports festival is coming very soon.” Aizawa stated bluntly. Most students relaxed, but others still had concerns.
“I-Is it really a good idea to have the Sports Festival still? Even after what happened at the USJ?” Mina asked, looking slightly concerned about a possible second attempt at an attack.
“It’s part of the reason we’re still having it. Not only is it something that we’ve done every year so students can be scouted out for internships, but it’s our way of showing the people that we won’t let the villains put fear into us. So be ready for this. Anyways that’s all. Don’t wake me.” Aizawa explained firmly before just falling asleep right there. The students waited for a moment, making sure she was really asleep. Izuku could tell that she was this time. Everyone began to talk to each other about the upcoming event, their excitement, and their fears.
“What’s a Sport Festival.” Izuku said without thinking. He clapped a paw over his mouth in hopes no one heard him. He looked up to find everyone turning their attention toward him. Yeah, doing that made him feel anxious.
“Oh my god she even sounds adorable-“
“You’ve never heard of the Sports Festival?” Jirou said to the rabbit.
“I think that Usagi saying her first words are more important-” Kaminari said, half joking. She liked his voice.
“The Sports Festival literally plays a part in our future! She needs to know about them!” Iida interrupted Kaminari to say. It began to devolve into chatter, so Koda came over to Izuku’s desk. She knelt down and picked up one of his ears and began to speak.
“They’re basically a series of activities to show off our skills. If we impress people, then they’ll want to have us in their agency.” She explained in a whisper. Izuku nodded, and patted her head while giving a squeak of thanks.
“I don’t expect to get much however-” Koda said, about to doubt their own ability, before Izuku quickly gave them a little confidence boost. Izuku gave her a little kiss on the forehead.
“You’ll do good.” Izuku simply said. The rock-headed girl quickly began to get flustered as her face turned red. She whispered out little thank you’s as she scurried back to her own desk. Izuku smiled, he had confidence in all of his peers’ ability.
A long while had passed since the students were made aware of the sports festival. Now everyone was sat in the waiting room, just taking time to calm themselves before it was their time to be shown off to the crowds. Everyone had their own way of preparing for such a thing. But Izuku chose to just to pick the worse option. He sat there with his thoughts. Doing so made him very antsy.
“Usagi.”
Izuku’s head whipped over so fast you would be worried he broke his neck. Not to mention the frighteningly manic look in his eyes.
Todoroki felt scared mildly shocked by the expression sat on the rabbit’s face. But she reaffirmed herself as Izuku fixed himself as well.
“Objectively speaking, you are the strangest person in this class. You’re short, have random outbursts, don’t have a proper name. You haven’t even talked other than the first time in class. But your quirk is just what I need to defeat to show my Old Man that I don’t need him.” Todoroki monologued. Izuku…
“What about old men?” Had zoned out because he started thinking about peppermints when he saw Todoroki. He put his hand over his mouth again. Why was he suddenly talking once every blue moon?! The peppermint just scowled at him.
“Let’s see if you can still play dumb after I crush you.” Todoroki growled at the boy. Izuku was just confused. He legitimately didn’t listen to anything she said and was just confused now. Kirishima began to talk to Todoroki about the things she had just said, but Izuku wasn’t really concerned about it. The Sports Festival didn’t seem like something everyone could just team up on all the way through.
Class 1-A was eventually called out to the field, where they lined up with the other classes in the middle of an arena. In front of them on a stage stood Midnight, the R Rated Heroine.
Many wondered if it was appropriate for her to be part of the school staff entirely. With every class and course present, Midnight cracked her whip in the air gaining everyone’s attention. Her voice was loud as she spoke and welcomed them.
“Thank you everyone here today for being able to witness this year’s sports festival!” The crowds cheered for the students and the events they were about to witness, this made some students feel proud and others more nervous. One of these people was Izuku, feeling very exposed in such an open space with so many people watching.
“Before we start, we will have a speech given to us by the First Place contestant of the entrance exam! Izuku!”
Midnight called for the bunny boy. Most were confused as to who she called. She provided what was assumed to be a first name without a last name. But those such as Koda, Tsuyu, and even Monoma looked over to the gap in the participants where Izuku was probably standing.
Izuku was shaking like crazy, his hands trembling as burst of hot air came from the backs of his hands. He shakily began to talk up to the stage, putting his hands under his armpits. When he got to the steps for everyone to see, they were surprised. He was such a small bunny girl (boy)! It was outstanding to them that she (he) could get first place, let alone the top five!
Izuku stood at the mic. Nervous as all hell. He took in a deep breath and opened his mouth to speak. However. Nothing but a goddamn squeak, followed by silence, came out.
Meanwhile
“MY BABY!” Miruko suddenly shouted, her attention now fully focused on the sports festival. Well, at least when Izuku was visible.
“Aw…he looks even cuter when he’s terrified~” Shigabunny- Shigaraki said with an unsettling smile, tracing a finger over the TV screen. Despite the disturbing smile she had, she currently looked…cuter. Her fur was fluffy, bouncy, and well comes with a bow in her hair, she wore a loose pink collar and a frilly pink dress. Yet she seemed to ignore it. Meanwhile, All for One somberly looked at a little tuxedo with a plaque that read ‘Izuku’ above it.
“It’s just not the same.”
A tall woman stared at the TV screen with hope. Her solid orange eyes with white pupils focused entirely on the rabbit boy on the screen. That face. She knew that face. She lost it so long ago when she threw him out in a damn box. Her chubby body covered with black scales on the back with white on her quite large belly and a thick, black, lizard-like tail moves to a bedroom and digs through a closet, moving old items that seemed to have belong to a child that was obsessed with heroes until she found a frame.
She rushed back to the TV seeing the boy now standing at the microphone, the cameras giving a clear view of his oh so stressed face. Her voice trembled as she said a name.
“Izuku…it’s you.” The frame held the face of a sleeping green-haired child with freckles in a diamond pattern on his cheeks. Curled around him was the woman holding the frame now, but much slimmer. With the same diamond pattern on her cheeks, but rather than black, the freckles were white. She fell to her knees crying, her sharp, jagged lips curling into a sorrowful, but relieved smile. Hisashi found her baby.
