Know It's All Right

Work Text:

Alexander rather preened under the siblings' praise, before he actually preened, or rather, groomed, not having wings or a single feather but only handsome golden fur. He licked where Jane had bit him. Understandable of her, because it had been very rude indeed to stand on her tail. Still, although his mother would have scolded him for such behaviour, and might next time she visited, he was sure it was the right thing to have done. Jane had bit him and hissed, but then she had spoken at last, which Alexander credited to himself. He was, after all, Wonderful Alexander.
