{Xiu Ya had been with Shen Qingqiu since he was young and newly famous, and could be considered prestigious itself.}

(precept from SVSSS chapter 3)

{...Having said that, Shen Qingqiu (Shen Yuan) had thought that even after entering late, this body could reach core formation in ten or so years. This body’s aptitude was already quite impressive—how could he guess that the original Shen Qingqiu’s ability was another level higher?}

(precept from SVSSS chapter 74)

{...Liu Qingge didn’t spare him a trifling glance. “Compared to the unorthodox method of officially starting cultivation at sixteen, achievement will definitely be higher."}

(precept from SVSSS chapter 74)

{Shen Qingqiu failed to form his core before he ascended as the Peak Lord.}

(SVSSS extra chapters - QiJiu)

A sword would just be another scrap of metal if there's no wielder. What the wielder did using the sword during the years, was what influenced what this sword would be known as.

Shen Qingqiu had gained his fame as Xiu-Ya Sword since he was young. Entering the sect at 16, formed his core after 10 or so years (around 10-15 years) of cultivation. Meaning, that those 10 years he spent as a disciple, was filled with countless missions, battles, and packed up achievements, for him to be able to cement his title far and wide as Xiu-Ya Sword.

There were so many reasons why Shen Qingqiu rarely stayed in Qing Jing Peak during his disciple days. It's not merely because he abhorred the feeling of mingling with those under the same gender. Nor was it because he kept fleeing to the brothel every night to chase a good night's sleep.

Shen Qingqiu spent his time in his peak to polish his training in the 4 Arts (Music, Calligraphy, Painting, Strategy), and attended his Shizun's teaching as well as completing his errands. But of course, he needed to polish his skill and prove his worth towards Shen Anwei, the current lord of Qing Jing Peak, in order to keep his position as the favored disciple.

Other than that, Shen Qingqiu spent his time going down the mountain, completing missions after missions, wrapping up cases after cases.

When a disciple completed his mission, he'd get a sum of rewards, depending on the grade of completion, 1st-grade, or lower. That being said, there were a lot of things to be considered for a mission deemed as a 1st-grade completion. Not only one must solve the perpetrator (either caught or exterminated), but also found out the whole connection of the case, from the beginning to end. The cause, the process, and the solutions.

This difficulty of achieving the 1st-grade completion of one case, was what made Liu Qingge failed short on Shen Qingqiu in quite...every case.

It's true that when one's talking about the speed of case solving, Liu Qingge would have topped the list, due to his astounding ability, able to chase and eliminate the mission's target without much difficulty, even when he's going alone.

Yet, when talking about missions grade, he'd only get at most 1st in a few simple cases, mostly got the 2nd grade, and the rest of them were 3rd grade.

Qing Jing Peak however, was famous for always finishing a mission in 1st-grade completion, and at the very least as 2nd-grade completion, with Shen Qingqiu as the Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak topping the list.

To simplify the relationship between sects and its disciples, then it'd be called as a "win-win cooperation"

A sect taught their knowledge in cultivation towards its disciples. If the disciples were talented, then the disciples would gain a lot of achievements using the cultivation he was taught with. Then, along with the disciple's achievements, it'd also bring glory for the sect they came from.

For the knowledge given, the disciples bring back glory for the sect.

A glory for the sect meant advantages, a lot of advantages. The more glorious one sect was, the more they'd receive trust and attention. The County magistrate, the Prefectural magistrate, right to the Emperor; would send their tributes to the sect according to the level of the sect's prestige. The famous one sect was, the more they'd gain precious tributes.

For Cang Qiong Sect, having a glory given by its disciples' achievements on the outside, had more than just an advantage in tributes.

The reason why Zui Xian Peak existed till this day was not because the cultivators in the Cang Qiong Sect were in desperate need of liquor.

Zui Xian Peak produced many kinds of liquor, from mortal liquors to immortal liquors. That one most famous and top-notch brand of liquor, Tianzi Xiao (Emperor's Smile), was the product of mortal liquor that Zui Xian Peak had produced. Aside from Zui Xian, no other sect had any cultivator who's proficient in wine brewing. Therefore, in an era where wine's quality was the symbol of status in every banquet, Zui Xian's Wine was a product of constant need by other Sects and cultivators as well as mortals.

Aside from liquor, there's one more thing Cang Qiong Sect had staked its claim for. Qing Jing Peak, the peak of scholar when even noble-born were sent to the peak to pursue reputation and knowledge.

Every poem book written in stunning calligraphy by the Peak Lord, or by the Qing Jing Peak's disciples, was considered a masterpiece. Every painting produced by the Peak Lord would be deemed as a treasure between mortals or immortals. Every music piece created by the Peak Lord had always become a new inspiration. Arts was, after all, something that always gotten sold the best aside from science, in their products...no matter what era.

Therefore, the more Cang Qiong cultivators completed their missions, the more glory they gained, the more advantage they reaped in many aspects.

It's only a matter of fact that the disciples were to be rewarded upon completing their missions.

The rewards of finishing a mission in a 1st-grade completion in Cang Qiong Sect were obviously quite a hefty amount. Shen Qingqiu truly needed the rewards regardless. As someone who didn't have any backer or family member, he'd need to support himself to acquire such necessity of scholar, means to don yourself in an elegant appearance!

What would others say if they see the Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak wore cheap headpiece, having cheap fans, and use cheap trinkets?

Having secretly gossiped about was already mercy, while outrightly being mocked if he were donned in cheap goods, was more likely.

...This was the downside of entering a peak where appearances mean the most, and the disciples would be scrutinized closely for their bearing from head to toe.

Shen Qingqiu was very diligent to go into missions during his youth. He didn't just need the rewards from missions completion, it's also a way to train his own cultivation and gaining more experiences, and as his efforts to prove his worth between the 12 Head Disciples in Cang Qiong Sect despite his late coming.

That day, he had just completed a mission regarding a fox demon luring men to her nest, to drain their Yang's essence. The fox demon had not evolved into the 9 tails or even 7 tails fox. Hence, a cultivator at the level of Head Disciple could solve it just fine.

Upon arriving at the sect, he was called by his Shizun, Shen Anwei.

"Qingqiu, how's your mission? Is there any difficulty or peculiarity on your mission?" His Shizun asked after Shen Qingqiu brewed and poured him a cup of Lotus Tea.

Furrowing his brows slightly, Shen Qingqiu tried to remember if there's any difficulty he faced prior.

After thinking it through, while pouring his own serving of tea, Shen Qingqiu answered,

"This disciple does not think there was any difficulty. The fox demon that this disciple has exterminated did not pose any threat aside from their ability to drain Yang essence from Men while using their beauty to trigger Men's carnal desire before capturing them to her nest. The fox's ability, however, is far from how a lowly succubus would be able to do."

Shen Anwei hummed, enjoying himself from tasting the mild brew of Lotus Tea.

If there's one more aspect Shen Anwei approved of his Head Disciple aside from being a natural genius as a scholar and his quick-wit; it was his ability to blend a good tea. Shen Qingqiu's brewed tea was able to maintain its designated taste and scent, as well as removing its diminishing feature.

He said afterwards, "Are you hurt anywhere?"

Shen Qingqiu, "This disciple is as good as he wishes to be, Shizun."

Shen Anwei nodded, "That's good to hear. Since I'm about to send you to one more case down the mountain, Qingqiu."

Shen Qingqiu, "...."

As if he didn't see Shen Qingqiu's face, Shen Anwei continued, "Oh, I have already assigned your name to the mission board in Qiong Ding. Tomorrow after the sunrise, you just need to come to Qiong Ding, rendezvousing with your partner for this mission."

Shen Qingqiu, "...."

So, you're just asking casually whether I was hurt or not, while in reality, you're already assigning me a new mission regardless?

At the end though Shen Qingqiu still lowered his head respectfully, "...This disciple will accept the mission."

That was what happened before in the next day he met with Shang Qinghua, the Head Disciple of An Ding Peak, and Liu Qingge....the man he'd definitely choose the last as a partner!

He had almost dragged Shang Qinghua to just go to the mission by the two of them, no need for any additional meatheads! Well, if not for Shang Qinghua who hurriedly coaxed the two Young Beau, to at last proceed going to the mission together using the carriage the sect had provided them with.

What a joke! Shang Qinghua didn't want to face the demon replacing what Liu Qingge should do, alright! If he could, he'd just be happy providing the logistic, and no need to fight any demon or ghost! Long live logistics! Thank you.

“It’s said that at night, if you stick out your head and look into the mouth of that well, you’ll see your reflection inside looking up, smiling faintly and beckoning. Out of nowhere, it'll drag people inside to drown. Sometimes you’ll even see your dead relatives… cough cough, Shen-shixiong and Liu-shidi, can you… can you let me finish first?”

Shang Qinghua set down the scroll.

These two people, neither of them was listening to this conscientious information of the mission!

Now, Shen Qingqiu was actually a good investigator in solving any cases, who'd definitely value any information regarding the mission he was in. It was proved with his countless 1st-grade missions completion put under his name.

However, when he's paired with Liu Qingge, his temper couldn't help but kept flaring up, and he needed to pretend as if he couldn't care less about the case! If he could, he'd just let Liu Qingge do all the works, and he'd get the achievements for it. All just to spite Liu Qingge~

On another hand, Liu Qingge was absolutely bad at investigating. He'd prefer to straightway go to the center of the problem, sniffing the demon's trace, hunted them down and exterminate, finished.

That's how the current embarrassing situation, when Shang Qinghua was trapped between these two people who were trying to spite each other, happened...

Shen Qingqiu had pulled out a book from his sleeve in one move. He could act pretentious on his own anywhere and anytime, sitting or standing. Just like how right now he was leaning on that old Banyan tree, displaying the Book of Songs, or was it Book of History? That he apparently brought.

While Liu Qingge himself who never bothered of investigating, to begin with, had long gone to stand by the mouth of the well, sticking out his head to look inside.

"There's nothing inside," He said.

Shang Qinghua, "...Oh?" He then turned his head towards Shen Qingqiu and sheepishly suggested, "Then, how about Shen-shixiong who try it?"

Shen Qingqiu didn't answer, yet he immediately put away his book, and strode to the well, while politely kicking Liu Qingge from his position, saying, "I will trouble you to allow me a place to see."

Liu Qingge had already went far, far away from the well to vacate the "place" Shen Qingqiu needed for.

Frowning, Shen Qingqiu looked inside the well. It seemed there wasn't any difference from how Liu Qingge's observation earlier.

"How strange. The information said...," Shang Qinghua rustled upon the scrolls as if he was searching upon a material book he used for his thesis in his college before.

Shen Qingqiu, "Well, why not you go and try it? Is it not your turn now?" He lifted one of his eyebrows, clearly smirking.

But of course, even in the ethical code of monsters, there seemed to be a rule of "fearing the strong, and bully the weak"! Before, when Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge looked inside the well, there wasn't anything peculiar, yet when it's Shang Qinghua's turn, there inside, his reflection on the water was currently doing countless expressions!

...Though no need to worry, there's already Liu Qingge who immediately stabbed Cheng Luan to the reflection.

The spirits inside the well however, were not defeated that easily, as the well water started to churn and wisps of spirits soared up.

"Retreat!" Liu Qingge shouted.

Now, in every mission, An Ding Peak disciples by right have no obligation to meddle into. Once a battle commenced, An Ding Disciples should go and scram as far as possible, to ensure their own safety, and so that they wouldn't be a hinder in the fight.

Unfortunately, Shang Qinghua was too late to yeet his ass off, when his escape route had been blocked completely by the white haze consisted of the resentful spirits.

In a time like this, there's only one thing he should do; collapse and pretend to be dead! As dead as he could be!

At some point during the battle, Liu Qingge and Shen Qingqiu had accidentally met each other's back. The two Young Beau immediately put a look of disgust on their face upon the contact.

Shen Qingqiu shot an attack, brushing off Liu Qingge's shoulder as it passed.

To which it was responded by Liu Qingge with another attack towards Shen Qingqiu.

....And now, the two combatants had turned to ignore their enemy, and fight each other instead.

Shen Qingqiu's temper went up as he scolded, "What do you think you're doing! Are you blindly attacking others!?"

Liu Qingge also immediately seethed, "You're the one who attacked me first! Who is blind first!?"

Shang Qinghua was currently dropping dead, as silent and stiff as a corpse. Yet, even at this kind of state, even he could actually see what had happened.

Just now, there's a wisp of spirits on top of Liu Qingge's shoulder, hence Shen Qingqiu's move to attack the spirit and brushed Liu Qingge's shoulder in passing. It was not a backstabbing attack at all~

As he saw both Liu Qingge and Shen Qingqiu didn't seem to stop fighting with each other, looking at each of their blows grew heavier, and their eyes even started to go red drowned in anger, Shang Qinghua decided it's not good for him to keep pretending his dead state.

He sat up and shouted meekly, "You two, please just stop it. Liu-shidi, you misunderstood. In fact just now, Shen-shixiong was-,"

With a flick of his sleeve, Shen Qingqiu had shot the wall Shang Qinghua was leaning to, creating a deep crack as the pebbles and ashes went rumbling down.

"If you're going to die, die completely. Don't bother to go up halfway." He coldly said.

This pain in the ass-Tsundere!

---was what Shang Qinghua cursed inside his mind.

Now, in this point, if it was in another world, perhaps the case would just stop and ended as it was, with Liu Qingge kept the misunderstanding about Shen Qingqiu's endeavor of backstabbing attack on him during a serious battle.

Yet, in this world, due to perhaps God's Will to twist their fates, the case didn't end as it would have been.

As Shen Qingqiu coldly prevented Shang Qinghua's attempt to dispel the misunderstanding, Liu Qingge suddenly stopped his movements, and rigidly stared at Shen Qingqiu, bewildered.

"You, you, you," He said while pointing his hand towards Shen Qingqiu.

Even Shang Qinghua had stopped his original plan to go back playing dead, as he also stared with a gaping mouth towards Shen Qingqiu.

"What are you staring at me for!?" Shen Qingqiu barked, with a nasal voice.

"You, you, why are you, crying?" Liu Qingge stuttered once again.

"...Huh?" Realizing something was wrong, Shen Qingqiu also stopped his movements.

Right now, in front of Shang Qinghua and Liu Qingge, a person who always plastered a cold expression, a sneer, a smirk, and never a smile on his face, was currently crying.

Drop after drop of fat tears were streaming down on Shen Qingqiu's face, wetting his long eyelashes every time he blinked and causing his cheeks and nose to be flushed pink as well.

The expression on his face at this moment was, looking very aggrieved and wronged.

Dropping down to his knees, Shen Qingqiu sheathed Xiu-Ya and put the sword on the ground. He lifted both of his hands to touch his cheeks. Shen Qingqiu was even more bewildered than the two others, upon finding out that he had apparently crying snots and tears.

In fact, Shang Qinghua didn't really understand why this scum villain of his was crying in aggrieve, looking like he was hurt and wronged. Well, he should indeed be feeling aggrieved and wronged at this time, but according to Shen Qingqiu's temperament, this person would definitely never cry, or so much voiced out his grievance.

Regardless, looking at this face that was as beautiful as Pan An, the legendary beautiful man in China's history, wetted by tears and wearing an expression as miserable as the actresses in Korean tearjerking drama, Airplane-Juju's heart was turned into mush right at this point, that he couldn't place this crying beauty as the scum villain in his PIDW novel.

Just like what a man normally would be when they saw a beauty crying; being restless, and in panic, wanted to coax and stop those tears from rolling down, henceforth, Shang Qinghua finally proved his worth to be a proper gentleman that he always failed to be previously,

"Liu-shidi, look at what you're doing! You have hurt Shen-shixiong's heart! Didn't I tell you that you have misunderstood? Shen-shixiong was actually attacking a spirit on your shoulder!"

"Who said I was hurt!?" Shen Qingqiu retorted, though with how he shouted it using the nasal voice, among his choked sobbed, and tears kept streaming down his face, it had made him looked even more pitiful.

Liu Qingge was speechless. The guy who never even have any interaction with the opposite gender, aside from his little sister, family member, and Qi Qingqi, those of whom never cried in front of him, currently was really at a loss when facing the crying beauty in front of him.

His hand stretched forward as if trying to reach Shen Qingqiu, "I, I'm sorry. It was my fault. I'm the wrong one. So, so, don't cry anymore, alright?"

"I'm not crying, hiccups~!" Shen Qingqiu yelled, completely untrue to his state.

Right now Shen Qingqiu was truly bewildered.

He didn't understand why he was bawling, completely losing face in front of his two other shidi! The shidis that he definitely never wanted to show his crying face for! Well...not that he ever wanted to show this kind of weak display towards anyone, to begin with.

He just couldn't understand why did his tears keep flowing, and his chest tightened in pain.

Oh, sure he was hurt, angered, and annoyed by Liu Qingge's accusation. But it definitely wouldn't make him aggrieved enough to bawl! If anything, due to his anger, Shen Qingqiu would have wanted to spite this person even more by letting him think that he indeed committed the backstab attempt, and wouldn't bother to explain himself.

So, how come he was crying in a mess like a wronged maiden right now!?

"Shixiong, Shen-shixiong, I know it's hurt, Liu-shidi has also admitted his wrong." Shang Qinghua scrambled to his place, trying to be a gentlemen coaxing a crying beauty.

He turned towards Liu Qingge, scolding this buffoon who was still stuck on the ground, gaping, and didn't immediately do anything, "Liu-shidi, come and give Shen-shixiong handkerchief or anything!"

After being scolded by Shang Qinghua, Liu Qingge didn't have any time to frown at the fact that he was being yelled at. He fumbled on his body....and couldn't found any handkerchief.

Wasn't that obvious!? How could someone like him bring any handkerchief at all? If the disciple robes were not a mandatory uniform, or if the robes didn't offer any protection array for the body, he'd perhaps go out wearing a two-layer robe like some kind of commoner.

In the end, he still approached Shen Qingqiu and knelt down on his side, offering his sleeve, "This, I don't have any handkerchief, I'm sorry. You, you can just, use it." He awkwardly said.

Perhaps out of anger and pettiness, Shen Qingqiu didn't bother to refuse and just grabbed Liu Qingge's sleeve to rub his face and eyes, even deliberately making an exaggerated sound of pushing out his snots and smearing it all on Liu Qingge's sleeve.

After a while, Shen Qingqiu finally was able to brush off the suffocating feeling from inside his chest, and the urge to bawl. He had apparently cried for almost a shichen

One of the reasons was that Liu Qingge kept awkwardly apologizing, and trying to coax him to stop crying. Instead of making Shen Qingqiu's grievances stopped....it made him bawled even more in mortification.

It was so weird, how Shen Qingqiu was unable to control his emotions at all.

Turning his head away from both Liu Qingge and Shang Qinghua, since he felt he had lost face completely in front of the two, he said after calming his self down, "This Shixiong has unfortunately been hit by a fox demon's poison the day before yesterday. It seems like it's able to twist human's emotion."

Liu Qingge, "...Oh. Let's go back immediately and have a check-up in Qian Cao Peak."

Pausing, Liu Qingge continued, "I can carry the two of us on Cheng Luan. It's much faster than the carriage."

Shen Qingqiu scoffed, "No need to bother Liu-Shidi. This Shixiong is perfectly fine with using the carriage."

"And this said Shixiong is also crying earlier," Liu Qingge mumbled, "Which one of it seems fine?"

There was no answer.

But Shang Qinghua had a bad premonition and scolded Liu Qingge yet again, "Liu-Shidi, you shut up!"

Of course! Because currently, Shen Qingqiu's shoulder was trembling. Even though he didn't face them right now, it was obvious this person was crying yet again! Out of embarrassment, anger, and mortification to be reminded of his ungraceful state earlier...

Later, Shen Qingqiu chose to run away, ignoring his other two Shidi, and briskly strode towards the direction where they parked their carriage.

He really wanted to bury himself 6 feets underground right now!

How could he cry at the slightest spike of his emotions!?

It was truly shameful!

In the end Liu Qingge relented, and followed the other two, to ride a carriage back home. Along the way, Shen Qingqiu kept busying himself to read a Heart Sutra, trying to enter the state of utmost tranquility. As for the reason why a Head Disciple from Qing Jing Peak, actually possessing a book originated from the Monks dwelling of Ku Xing Peak, God only knew why~

After spending quite some time in the journey, the trio had finally stepped their feet back to the sect. On the trip back home, Shang Qinghua and Liu Qingge kept nervously looking at Shen Qingqiu, afraid he'd cry at the slightest discomfort. To which it finally created another expression of fury on Shen Qingqiu's face instead, as he coldly said,

"I'm not some kind of feeble maiden."

Liu Qingge urged Shen Qingqiu to go to Qian Cao Peak first before reporting for the missions.

"I will be reporting the mission, you go and have a check-up quickly."

Frowning, Shen Qingqiu put a displeased look on his face, "By letting you reporting the missions' completion, we will gain a 3rd-grade evaluation."

Shang Qinghua wanted to say, 'I can accompany Liu-Shidi to complete the missions' report',

Yet after thinking more about it, he was not as knowledgeable as Shen Qingqiu who was famed as The Walking Monster Encyclopedia. Well, just let the expert do what they have excelled at~

So he said instead, "Let us all go to Qian Cao Peak together first, Liu-Shidi, Shen-Shixiong. The reports can wait."

Shen Qingqiu eyed him, "What are you tagging along to Qian Cao for?"

"Uh...to check if I didn't wake up from the death halfway?" Shang Qinghua chuckled nervously.

He couldn't just say that he wanted to have some more melon seeds, enjoying Shen Qingqiu's rare reactions, alright!

Shen Qingqiu snorted, but he didn't say anything further as he himself walked towards Qian Cao Peak using the Rainbow Bridge

In Qian Cao, Mu Qingfang, the Head Disciple of the peak who was rumored to have the healing ability in par with his own Master, the current Lord of Qian Cao Peak, was the one who received the trio's appearance and conducted an examination towards Shen Qingqiu.

Shang Qinghua was providing him with what had happened with Shen Qingqiu during their mission prior, with Liu Qingge nodding in affirmation.

Shen Qingqiu had almost given up to maintain his face in front of those two. Besides, it's mortifying to retell by his own about his shameful behavior, bawling in an aggrieved manner upon being wrongly accused by Liu Qingge!

Mu Qingfang was really worthy to be the future healer of the Cang Qiong Sect. He had maintained his calm and composure, never showing any difference in his expression even after listening to that embarrassing moment of Shen Qingqiu's whole career.

He probed Shen Qingqiu's meridian after politely asked for permission to grab his wrist.

After a few moments, the healer sighed in relief, "Shen-Shixiong, it's fortunate that you are not in any danger. The poison will only work out for 7 days more, and it's not a malicious design."

Shen Qingqiu was bewildered, "How come it's not malicious? I was....I was," He stuttered, "My emotion was being twisted, this poison is malicious."

Smiling, the healer said, "That's not it, Shixiong. Your emotion is not being twisted. It's just...," Pausing as if wanting to consider which words he should use to explain, Mu Qingfang carefully said, "The poison is just magnifying your inner feelings, and letting it show honestly into your facial expression and physiology."

"......"

Silence.

The trio were silent, trying to digest what did Mu Qingfang intended to say.

Shang Qinghua, "...That, Does that mean Shen-Shixiong is crying because in reality he truly felt aggrieved before?"

"Well...yes." Mu Qingfang nodded.

"Shang Qinghua, you shut up!"

Shen Qingqiu's angry yell perhaps would truly shut Shang Qinghua up, as he usually was when facing this scary Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak. Yet, when it was shout out while Shen Qingqiu was having a flushed, embarrassed look on his face, the effect would be different.

So fucking cute!

This is so unfair! How could this scum villain actually be the kind of cold Tsundere, the type who'd be popular among both male and female!?

Liu Qingge on the other hand, ended up in another blushing mess, after looking at the expression that they would never think Shen Qingqiu would have ever plastered on his face.

Therefore, Shang Qinghua was K.O-ed upon looking at the two Young Beau who were both competing to be the one who had the most beautiful blushing shy look~~~

Shen Qingqiu went back to Qing Jing Peak while covering his lower face with his trademark fan.

He was cursing the fox demon he exterminated a few days before.

Damn her and her poison!

Who would have known that the poison she sprayed on him was actually harboring malicious intent!

Shen Qingqiu was facing the fox demon, the main target he should be hunting down in this mission. Xiu-Ya glowed on his hand from the spiritual energy inputted.

The fox demon was being cornered in no time, and she was panicking looking at her death looming closer.

In desperation, she threw a sachet towards Shen Qingqiu, which the young man didn't need much effort to evade, and swatted the sachet far from him instead.

However, that was what the fox demon needed to distract the cultivator for before she let out her scent in an instant enveloping the whole perimeter of the cave. It was already too late for Shen Qingqiu to prevent himself from inhaling the fox's scent.

Laughing maniacally, the fox taunted, "This is the end for you!" As the fox broke the clothes on her body and spread out her arms and her legs, showing the full glory of her nudity.

Thinking that he was hit by some kind of succubus poison, Shen Qingqiu frowned as he chanted the Heart Sutra he acquired from Ku Xing Peak to calm his mind. He'd deal with the aftermath later, he needed to eliminate the fox demon first.

Striding forward, Xiu-Ya drew an arc, as the sword imbued by his spiritual power stabbed into the fox demon's abdomen, shattering her demonic core.

The demon shrieked before she dissipated into nothingness, "Impossible! How could you still move!?"

Sneering, Shen Qingqiu didn't bother to answer her, as he warily watched the demon completely exterminated.

The fox demon was still having that disbelief look on her face until she took a glimpse on Shen Qingqiu's crotch....and found no abnormalities there.

'Damn! I hit on the wrong target! Never thought that this handsome dude to be a cutsleeve!'

---was what she had in mind at her final moment.

That's right.

Your Body is More Honest, the name of the poison contained in that fox demon's scent she had emitted earlier. No need to think why the name was so lame, as it was what the Great God who created their world had bestowed upon it~

In any case, it was her deadliest weapon, able to influence the victim the moment the scent was breathed into their lung.

As Men who breathed this scent looked at the naked body of the female fox demon, it'd definitely trigger their carnal desire, at the very least it'd automatically trigger their physiology.

However, Shen Qingqiu, let alone be muddled in carnal desire, even the Immortal Pillar hidden between his leg did not even lift one inch!

What kind of Men would have this reaction when looking at a tempting naked female body!?

Only a cutsleeve would have this reaction!

---was what the female fox demon accused him to be.

In fact, Shen Qingqiu was again, unjustly accused.

For this guy who had frequented the brothel and had seen girls' bodies from smooth legs to round shoulder, from squishy butt to deep cleavage, there were not many female body parts that he hadn't looked at. As the saying went, One could have never eaten any Pork, but they would still know how a Pig run.

Yet, the moment he saw the soft body of the fox demon, or her tempting breast, what he had thought at that moment subconsciously was,

"Oh, it must be great to sleep on that arms."

Instead of appreciating the beauty of a female body, what he thought was how comfortable that chest and arms to snuggle at!

What's the difference between women and body pillow in this guy's brain, really?

This guy was indeed the ban of every women in the world...

As he didn't feel anything upon the so-called deadly poison, Shen Qingqiu discarded the fox's demon taunting as mere bullshitting. Well...until he got hit on the foot by the poison's effect the next day.

The effect of the poison lasted to 7 days more.

Shen Qingqiu originally wanted to hole up and entered a closed meditation to avoid losing face in front of others. Or  perhaps went down the mountain under the pretext of mission solving, while in reality, he'd spent the 7 days holed up in some inn or brothel, far from any people he knew!

Nevertheless, he had miscalculated how "cruel" his Shizun could be.

Knowing that Shen Qingqiu was having trouble to "hide" his emotions for these 7 days, Shen Anwei instead gave him a lot of assignments, needed to be done inside the sect.

He himself, kept visiting Shen Qingqiu, trying to initiate random talk with him.

Not like Shen Qingqiu didn't know this Shizun of his was amusing himself from looking at Shen Qingqiu's honest reaction!

For the first time Shen Qingqiu regretted that he had caught the Peak Lord's attention. If only he was just some no-name disciple, then the master wouldn't even bother to torture him this way...

5 days before the poison died down, by some chance, or actually Ten Billion Percent was intentional, there was a sudden assembly of Head Disciples from the 12 Peaks.

If there's anything that Cang Qiong Sect was excelled at aside from cultivation, then it was gossiping.

The sheer power and interest of gossips were shared not only between the female cultivators but even more intense between male disciples.

The news that Shen Qingqiu was currently poisoned and was forced to let out an honest reaction and expression, was truly a tempting gossip everyone wanted to witness first hand!

And naturally, the only people who had the might to abuse their power and authority was the 11 other Head Disciples~

Even Yue Qingyuan had finally relented when his other Shidis and Shimei pestered him to make a sudden Head Disciples' assemble...

Upon receiving the official summoning letter, Shen Qingqiu could only grit his teeth in anger.

They already had this assemble 3 weeks ago, for God's sake!

Wasn't the assembly supposed to be held once every 3 months, so what was so important to require a hasty assemble!?

Needless to say, obviously it's to look at Shen Qingqiu's rare expressions~~~

---Was what the other 11 Head Disciples silently answered.

An annoyed look was honestly plastered on Shen Qingqiu's face as he walked through the Rainbow Bridge to Qiong Ding Peak where the meeting was held.  Though this look was not just a mere disdaining look he had on weekdays, but embellished with a pursed-lip.

He could not help but let his face and expression exposed bare, due to yet another torture from his Shizun, Shen Anwei, who had confiscated every single fan of his, to prevent Shen Qingqiu from covering his facial expressions.

In the meeting, Yue Qingyuan was spouting any bullshit he could ever think and brought up. Shang Qinghua was even more reporting any unimportant matter from his peak. Qi Qingqi was literally just gossiping about her fellow female cultivator on her peak. Other Head Disciples were just there to eat and drink, while sneakily stealing a glance towards Shen Qingqiu in the meantime.

What a farce meeting through and through!

Nonetheless, when Yue Qingyuan later asked his well being and his usual "20 questions" towards Shen Qingqiu, he couldn't stop the smile from unfurling on his face, clearly happy on the attention, but after the smiles, came the frown of morose.

He was even laughing out loud at Shang Qinghua's dry jokes.

When later Wei Qingwei praised him for finishing the missions in yet another 1st-grade completion, he couldn't help the smug yet shy smile from lifting up.

Later when Liu Qingge apologized once more towards him, Shen Qingqiu couldn't help bawling yet again, showing the pout on his lip.

Heavens...

What a rich harvest!

It turned out Shen Qingqiu was actually happy when Yue Qingyuan cared about him. Though others didn't understand why after the happy feelings, came the remorseful state. Only Yue Qingyuan knew and bitterly smiled in response, knowing why Shen Qingqiu was happy but angry and sad at the same time. It was his fault. It's him who made the should have been happy smiles twisted into sorrow midway.

He was happy when others praised his effort, yet he was easily embarrassed when others praised him excessively.

Those times when he lifted a fan covering his face, snorting when Shang Qinghua spouting out dry jokes, apparently, Shen Qingqiu was amused at the jokes!

And those times where he seethed and argued with Liu Qingge, he was actually feeling wronged and sad inside for the unjust accuses...

Therefore...those times, every single time, when Shen Qingqiu was plastering a cold and distant look on his face, while spitting out vitriol words, in fact only a few of them are true anger, while the rest was his cover upfront.

From then onwards, Shen Qingqiu would never expect this event had changed other's views towards him.

In the future, whenever he sneered or said sarcastic words, others would just nod, inwardly thinking,

'Got it. You're embarrassed, aren't you?'

Stemming out from this one event as well,

Liu Qingge, Shen Qingqiu, and Shang Qinghua were put under the same team frequently in the future.

Apparently the impressive work of a fighter, a strategist, and a number one logistic staff able to pacify the temper of the previous two, was the best combination Cang Qiong Sect produced at the Qing generation.

But of course, it'd led to Shang Qinghua wholeheartedly suggesting Liu Qingge to not keep his habit of cultivating alone, since it would trigger a Qi Deviation sooner or later.

Similar to how he warned Shen Qingqiu not to hastily rushing to help if he encountered someone who's under a Qi Deviation, since if he failed to help he'd definitely feel regret for the rest of his life!

Thereupon, when Shen Qingqiu met Liu Qingge who was under a Qi Deviation in LingXi Cave, this warning from his could be said, a trustable partner in the trio team he was in for years, immediately popped out in his mind.

Instead of rushing to help, he called for Yue Qingyuan the closest ally from LingXi Cave.

Yue Qingyuan was stronger than Liu Qingge, his Qi flow was stable unlike Shen Qingqiu's, he was also an expert at handling severe Qi Deviation that might lead to one's death.

Therefore, Liu Qingge was safely handled, and kept on living to old age with Shen Qingqiu, together forever, happily ever after~

...Or not?
