Shen Qingqiu and Yue Qingyuan sat with Liu Qingge in Shen Qingqiu's tidy bamboo cottage. Liu Qingge had walked here with them, after the earlier Peak Lords' meeting.
They were just finishing their first cup of tea, when Yue Qingyuan glanced at Shen Qingqiu. "Qingqiu-shidi, do you remember what we talked about?" He flicked his eyes meaningfully at Liu Qingge.
Shen Qingqiu blinked. "What? Oh." He flushed faintly. "Yes."
"And you're still happy with that?" Yue Qingyuan probed gently. He waited for Shen Qingqiu's nod, watching his face carefully, then visibly relaxed when Shen Qingqiu waved a hand in an impatient gesture.
"We agreed you would start," Shen Qingqiu said tartly. "So start."
"We can discuss it further--" Yue Qingyuan broke off when Shen Qingqiu made an irritated noise. "Alright." He turned to Liu Qingge. "Liu-shidi. We--Qingqiu-shidi and I--we're very fond of you. Both of us." Liu Qingge flushed and felt his stomach take flight. This could be either very good, or very bad. Yue Qingyuan held up a hand. "We value your friendship. We'd like to make that relationship a romantic one."
"What," Liu Qingge said blankly.
"Both of us," Shen Qingqiu interjected. "I know you're fond of him. But this is a both-or-nothing arrangement."
Liu Qingge blinked, twice. Shen Qingqiu cannot possibly think that's a stumbling block.
"Liu-shidi," Yue Qingyuan said with a self-satisfied note in his voice. "Would you kiss Qingqiu-shidi, please?"
"Only if you want to," Shen Qingqiu said earnestly.
Liu Qingge and Yue Qingyuan shared another glance--this one was baffled and exasperated. Liu Qingge cautiously approached Shen Qingqiu's seat, and hesitated. He couldn’t believe this was happening. It was out of character for this to be some kind of test, but--could it be a hallucination? An illusion?
Shen Qingqiu blinked up at him for a moment. "Oh, I should--" He rose, smoothing his robes in an automatic gesture. Liu Qingge touched his fingertips to Shen Qingqiu's jaw and carefully, carefully, brushed their lips together. He felt Shen Qingqiu relax and breathe out a little sigh as he leaned in. Why would Shen Qingqiu ever be nervous about this? Hasn't he been obvious in his admiration?
It felt like only a moment, before Liu Qingge was drawing back. It must have been longer, because Yue Qingyuan had risen and was standing with them. Liu Qingge turned to look at him, not sure what reaction he’d find. Yue Qingyuan might be accepting, or might have had second thoughts. Instead of jealousy, Liu Qingge was kissed himself, more firmly than he'd touched Shen Qingqiu. He was dazed when Yue Qingyuan pulled away.
Yue Qingyuan stayed close and turned to Shen Qingqiu. "Okay?" he asked, gently.
Shen Qingqiu was flushed, dots of color high on his usually impassive face. "That is--very pretty. I should paint you."
Yue Qingyuan laughed--he sounded giddy--and pulled Shen Qingqiu closer. "You can. All three of us."
