I'm sort of shocked at how many of the sources I recognized (I go back a ways). Your vid made me disturbingly aware of how readily, over the years of my youth, I swallowed images of female forms being constructed, destroyed, reassembled and programmed without agency. Very powerful viewing for me. Thank you.

Wow, wow, WOW!!! This is perfection! Love the way you used the song! When I read the title my first thought was of Bender and the Fembot on the Amazon-Planet and I was so thrilled that this is also in the vid :)

I saw this at Wiscon (a year ago, oops) and thought it was absolutely PERFECT. In addition to being an astoundingly comprehensive archive (with some very hilarious moments), it moves ambivalently (in a good way) between celebrating and critiquing fembots. I think it raises really complex, interesting questions about gender, technology, and representation – questions that come up when you see ALL of these examples side by side. The world needed this vid!!

So. Frigging. Good. Super tight editing, an amazing number of sources... I especially enjoyed the random obscure stuff from old b-movies and such. And of course you strated with the iconic lady-robot from Metropolis. I also liked how broadly you defined 'fembot', including cyborgs and other technologically enhanced ladies.
