A Sorcerer's Stone Covered In Blood

Chapter Text

Tragedy struck the Potter home when Tom Riddle, or Lord Voldemort killed the parents of Harry Potter. Lily and James Potter gave their life to their son and their love protected him from Tom Riddle but not from The Dursleys.

That night would bring tragedy and sorrow for everyone for years to come. For not only has the Potter family died that night, but so has the Sinclair Family. The Sinclair family which holds the most secrets was also take care of by Riddle's Death Eaters. With their youngest member, a girl who had just turned one was found dead.

Sirus Black, consumed with anger and grief when he saw the Potter home sought out to catch the one who did this to his family. This action would cause him to land in Azkaban for more than a decade. With Regulus Black, his brother watching over him.

Peter Pettigrew, lost his only friends that day because he was consumed by fear. He would hate himself and would hate the fact that everyone saw him a hero when he "died".

Narcissa Malfoy, relived that the war was over and her son was safe. She mourned in sercret for her best friend, Lily Evans was gone from the world. A soul too bright that it burned itself to save someone else.

Severus Snape, for once in his life looked back on what had happened and with guilt realized that he was the cause of this and his first friend was dead because .... Of him.

Petunia Dursley, mourned the loss of her sister and wished things would be different that she hadn't abandoned her sister and wished she hadn't married her husband.

Minerva McGonagall, cried over the loss of four exceptional amazing students as she watched their boy on his aunts doorstep and wondered if she could've prevented this.

Bellatrix Lestrange, cried in relief when they took her away. Free of her family and wondered why did she let her family control her so much that she ended lives? Once again, she she remembered her cousins, Regulus did she wonder what had happened to this broken family? Still, at least by going to Azkaban I'll protect the rest of my sweet family.

Meanwhile, an old man stood in an even older and angrier school and chuckled as he thought his plans were completed and were without loose ends

Chapter Text

Ten years after the murder of Lily & James Potter came and went. People still mourned and some moved on with their lives, and some stayed.

Severus Snape always went to Lily's grave and brought flowers, lilies and petunias when her birthday and death day came. He brought flowers and a Gryffindor scarf for James some days. Lily always did tell him to move on with his life, he guesses he was too late to bury the hatchet. Every time he left, he left with a heavy heart and tears in his eyes.

Sirius Black was still in Azkaban, paying for a crime he never committed. With the Dementors, he can still hear the voices of James, Lily & their son, Harry. And every night, when he closes his eyes to sleep he can see the Potter House in ruins. He wishes for a chance to do right by his godson. For being a Black, he will suffer. The words once uttered by his ancestors, he always knew they would be correct.

Peter Pettigrew, under the guise of a rat named Scabbers went to the graves of his friends with one Molly Weasley. He always thinks back on that night and wonders why was he so consumed by fear that he betrayed and killed the first person in Hogwarts to treat him with kindness besides his own mother. He always considers stealing a Time Turner, to turn back time and fix his mistake. He never does.

Narcissa & Lucius Malfoy, grieve the loss of both James & Lily Potter along with Bellatrix, Regulus & Sirius. Narcissa will sometimes wonder what happened to her family. Her cousins were met with such horrible fates, one being framed and one dead. Her sister was controlled and put away with Sirius. She lost contact with her other sister, Andromeda. Maybe she'll fix that. Lucius vows to fix this broken world. Two amazing and intelligent souls gone from the world with a corrupt Ministry. Someone should fix this so that his son can live peacefully without the terror and mistakes of his ancestors and government.

Petunia Dursely (née) Evans, found life unbearable. Forced to be married to an abusive pig and unable to care for her nephew. Robbed of magic and now robbed of happiness, redemption and the chance to go to her sisters funeral because she didn't have magic. When she sneaks him food under the horrible cupboard, she finds herself drawn to the eyes. The eyes of her sister that haunt her.

Minerva McGonagall, found herself still teaching Transfiguration at Hogwarts while being Head of Gryffindor House and Deputy Headmistress. When mischief happens in her halls or in the Gryffindor Common Room, she finds herself shouting to James Potter & Sirius Black. And stops to think about it and how much she misses those trouble makers. She never does move on, she wished she raised their boy. No Wizarding child should be raised by Muggles, not with Vernon Dursley.

Peeves has stayed at Hogwarts for centuries and he never found a more worthy students of mischief than James Potter, Sirius Black & Remus Lupin. Sometimes he mourns them and wonders if James is in the same plane with him or on the other side.

Remus Lupin was in his wolf form on the night of October 31, 1981. He hears about it in the papers and curses himself for it because maybe, just maybe they would still be alive if he wasn't a werewolf. He thinks of Lily's eyes and her intelligence, of her kindness and ruthlessness. How she was a paradox, for with her fiery hair and her kind heart. He thought of James and the fact that he sometimes acted like a spoiled brat just for appearances when in reality his parents treated him normally and even though they had several manors to their name. They lived in simple house with no house elves and did chores by themselves with no magic. They would've raised Harry wonderfully. And with the thought of his cub alone without anyone with magic, he broke down and cried and drank himself to sleep.

Regulus Black, although dead still followed his brother to the ends of the Earth. He watched his brothers godson be born. And he watched as his brother cry tears of joy when James announced him as the godfather. He smiled when that happened, happy to see his brother happy. Knowing that it had been a while since his death. He watched as Harry was put to bed with the lullabies of Mother Black. And watched as toward the end, Harry whispered out a tiny "Reg". He let out a few tears, surprised that he could even cry when he was dead. Sirius was shocked as he looked around hoping to see his dead brother, saddened when he found no one. Sirius too whispered a "Goodnight Reggy" to the air as he left with his brother behind him.

Bellatrix Lestrange was thrown in the cell next to her cousin. Grateful to have her family and guilty that he was here too. They spent nights and days talking with one another, reconnecting their family. She knew that her cousin, Sirius was innocent. And in return, Sirius knew she was innocent even if she didn't believe it. Unknown to them, Regulus was there leaning on the stone walls watching them with a fond smile. Unable to speak with them, while The Dementors knew him and of his sorrows and kept away from their cells most of the time. She began to heal and was free of her corrupt side of the family to think for herself.

Fillius Flitwhick avoided his classroom for a few weeks. As the brightest student he ever teached now had a grave. He had plans to make her his apprentice and now he couldn't. Her once bright future was gone and could only mourn the loss of an intelligent soul. Minerva eventually stepped in and brought him back to himself, every so often he would look towards his desk where a charmed statue was, given to him by Lily Evans at the end of her seventh year.

Everyone who was close to the Potters had been touched by their beautiful souls and each and everyone of them had mourned them for so long and had been greatly affected by their loss. No matter how little their were in their loss. Each one would treasure the memories of them.

Chapter Text

In the Wizarding World, Harry Potter was known as a hero and the Heir to The Potter Line. In the house of Vernon Dursley, however he was known as a freak and an abomination. Harry knew he was different, if he didn't knew from his uncle calling him a freak then he knew it from the fact he could talk to snakes and the fact that they talked back. He was a small boy for his age with brown hair and green eyes from his mother covered by glasses. And with a lightning scar he hated, as it was a reminder of the fact that his parents were dead.

Vernon Dursley was a man who ruled his house with an iron fist, abusing both his nephew and his wife. His son, Dudley was safe under it as long as he did what he was told and how long his mothers protection lasted. Vernon absolutely despised anything magical or not normal, with his hatred, he made sure his nephew wouldn't get presents or something of his own. And barley gave him food to live, hoping the brat would die.

Which is where we are right now as Harry Potter finds a letter addressed to himself in the mornings mail. "Hurry up, boy!" Quickly, he shoved it in his jeans and grabbed the rest of it. He made his way back to the kitchen where his uncle was at. "What took you so long?" He grunted while taking the mail.

"One was caught on something, Uncle Vernon." Harry locked eyes with his Aunt Petunia as she knew that he got his letter, she risked smiling at him. Growing up, she taught him how to lie to her husbands face in case of something happening. Lily was better at being a mother between the two of them.

"Go back to your cupboard, Harry." She said harshly but he saw the underlying love in her eyes. As he did what he was told and opened his letter, the first letter he ever got in his life. He teared through the envelope and its contents shocked the young boy in the cupboard.

Harry Potter was in shock, he would be going to Hogwarts. His aunt always wanted him to go so that he could at least get away from the horrible house. Maybe, he would bring something back for her as well.

Raven Sinclair was from the Sinclair Family which was most known for their secrets and hidden abilities. Now, they were most known for her apparent death. Her mother faked the death or her daughter and her husband as safety of the threat of Death Eaters. Now that they were gone, they were still faking her death. Her father was a Ravenclaw and the Sinclairs were known to be secretive and cautious. The young raven was currently sitting in a library chair reading a book from the very top shelf that her father would faint if she knew she was reading. She blew away a strand of her black hair as it got in her face. She slowly put down The Wonderful Dark Arts on the table as an eagle owl flew through the window.

With caution, she stood up as the owl landed on her outreached arm. Who would contact a dead girl? Carefully, she untied the letter and gave the owl a few treats as it once again landed on her previously abandoned chair. With the Hogwarts seal, she knew immediately the owl was from Hogwarts and peeked inside and yes, indeed it was her letter. Raven looked towards the owl who stared at her as if to say. "Yes, you are indeed going to Hogwarts." She whistled as the owl landed on her shoulder and went to leave the library before turning back around and getting the letter.

"Dad! Where are you? Da-" She screamed across the manor as the owl affectionately nibbled on her ear.

"In here, honey!" Vincent Sinclair shouted at from the living room. Well, one of them. She walked over to it and grinned as landed beside her dad on the leather couch. "What happened, sweetie?" He asked softly turning a page of the Daily Prophet

"I got my Hogwarts Letter!" She grinned brightly as her dad dropped the newspaper and looked at his daughter grinning happily.

"You did?" At her excited nod he pulled her in for a hug, which was kinda awkward with the owl. "I'm so proud of you, darling. My Little Raven growing up." He cooed as he softly pinched his daughters cheeks.

"Dad! Stop." She laughed as the owl rubbed their head of Ravens head was becoming a mess or black hair as after her father messed it up.

"Well, I can't help it! You're growing up." He said with a fond smile. " In early August , you'll go shopping with Poppy."

"You're not coming?" She asked sadly as some of her happiness went away.

"I can't, sweetheart. We're dead." She chuckled as he pulled her in for a hug, "However I'll drop you off at Platform 9 3/4. I want a few pictures so that I could show your mother if she ever gets out of Azkaban."

"I miss her. Stories aren't enough." She said as she cuddled closer to her father. The owl flying down to her lap and falling asleep. Her father sighed, lost in memories. She pet the owl as they sat in a comfortable silence as she remembered a picture of her mother.

"I know, sweetheart. But it's all we got." Raven, still petting the owl asked for a story of them at Hogwarts. "As you know, I was in Ravenclaw and your Mother was a Slytherin. We were assigned partners for a project and with it we got closer. Every time I passed her in the hall or gave her words of encouragement. She always looked sad, I would later learn that her parents were controlling everything she did. Now, I fell in love with her silver eyes, the same ones as yours. One night we met in the library, purely coincidental, but I don't know now; she was a Slytherin. Anyways, She had trouble getting a book down, as she couldn't see the book well enough to charm it down. She flagged me down and stood on my shoulders enough to finally charm it low enough that she could grab it. And after that she got down and asked me out, and left. I knew I fell in love with her eyes and at the moment, I fell in love with her."

By then, his daughter was falling asleep as he conjured a blanket for her and the owl who was already asleep. "Thanks dad." He kissed her forehead as she dosed off and took the letter out of her hand and read through it and put it on the coffee table an picked up the newspaper.

"Draco!" His mother yelled as she finally managed to wake him up. He bolted straight up and hit his mother in the head.
They both groaned as he sat back down a hand over his head.

"Sorry, mother." He apologized as sat up and looked around the room. "Did you need help with anything?" He asked as she sat on his bed.

"Your Hogwarts letter came, silly." She said as he ruffled his blonde hair. "Your father sat in the drawling room at noon when it came, he looked as proud and happy as a mother dragon. Which is ironic considering." Her son looked at her with buzzing with excitement. Her little son was going to Hogwarts, she ruffled his hair once more being standing up. "Get dressed, Dragon. We have French Toast ready." He shot out of bed as she chuckled and left his room going down the many halls to her loving husband.

"How did it go?" Lucius asked once he set his tea down as he saw his wife's eyes sparkle with amusement. She laughed as she sat down next to him on the dining table.

"He's excited but he shot out of his bed when I mentioned French Toast." She poured herself a cup of tea as she heard her son trip upstairs. "I remember when I got my letter, I was almost excited as he is right now." Lucius nodded his agreement as he remembered his, the Lord Malfoy's trail of memories was interrupted when Draco ran down the stairs, his fluffy hair the first thing he noticed as both his parents loved to ruffle it.

"Don't." The youngest warned when his father was eying his hair. He sat down across his mother and grabbed the French Toast and eggs with Pumpkin juice.

"Draco, you'll go shopping around August with both of us accompanying you. As we can't miss it."

"Only if I can ruffle the hair." Lucius interrupted as his son glared at him from across the table. At his sons whispered 'fine' he ruffled the hair. "Now tomorrow, we'll accompany you to Diagon Alley for your supplies, after all your mother can't miss you getting your wand, can she?"

"Off you go, I can see how your bursting to go to outside." Narcissa said as her son kissed her cheek as he went outside to their Qudditch field. She sighed as she thought of Hogwarts "Sometimes, I think about the Sinclair child. You know, Lucius? She just turned a year old before she was murdered by a Death Eater." Her husband looked at her with understanding.

"She would've been going to whatever school she choose this year."

"I know. Lucius, I know. This world is far too cruel, maybe soon it'll be better."

Chapter Text

Raven Sinclair sat on one of her families couches as she watched the sunset from the window, her breath causing the enchanted glass to fog up. The sun setting caused purples, pinks and blues to cover the sky. The owl who had delivered her Hogwarts letter was still here, she was just sitting perched up on a Transfiguration book. She started to wonder about everything in her life and thought maybe she was cursed. Her mother was in Azkaban and her father faked his death for her and became a hermit, only leaving his house for supplies with a glamour covering his face. They lead everyone to think they were dead. Even her own aunt thought she was dead! For crying out loud!

"What's wrong, sweetie? I thought you liked sunsets, now you're glaring at it as if it offended your family?" Vincent joked as his daughters mood turned negative as fast as a burning fire. She glared at him while the owl hooted, he opened his arms to her a barley whispered out a 'come here, darling' before she walked over to him and nearly threw him to the ground with her strength. "Darling?"

"It's not fair." She whispered out, "Why do we have to live in secret? The wars over. I could've met my other family by now." He rubbed her back as he pet her hair affectionally, once she calmed down. He crouched down and looked her in her silver eyes as her curly black hair was pushed from them.

"I know. I know." He stood up and looked to the window and then to the portrait of his mother who winked. "It's time, darling." At his daughters confused eyes, he added. "To learn the Sinclair secrets & talents, as tradition." His daughter brightened up as she was always thirsty to get her hands on the knowledge of anything really.

"Can you include Mom's family too?" She asked shyly, "I want to know about them too." Her father nodded as he ruffled her hair as she tried to fix it and led them to the library. Her ancestors portraits adjourning the halls to the library as they looked on in pride. They did what they did and kept their secrets to the grave so they could protect their family and she would live. Her paternal grandmother winked at her from her portrait, as the age of eleven or ten was the age to not only go to start ones Magical Education but to learn the Family Secrets and the hidden Talents and Ancestors. A whispered 'good luck' fell on deaf ears.

Draco Malfoy was currently in his room, coincidentally also looking at the sunset. For his birthday, he had gotten a regal eagle owl whom he named, Artemis. And was now wondering where she could've gone. He last sent her to Hogwarts but she should've been back, right? "Looking at the sun setting, won't make tomorrow come faster." His father said, leaning on his sons open doorway. His father walked in and sat on the bed while he looked at his son. Who in a few moments would know the truth that carries the Malfoy name. Its secrets, talents, inheritance and whatever else he wanted.

"Draco," he started out as he hesitated slightly. The Malfoy name was sometimes too much to bear, the only one worse was Sinclair. "As you know, per tradition when a child turns eleven they would know the secrets of the their lineage. As such, it's the parents' job to ease them through it. Are you ready?" At his sons nod he continued the history of the Malfoy line while his mother watched and quietly took a picture to frame it. She went to her bedroom and was about to get a frame ready when she saw the picture on her nightstand. It was a picture of herself, Bellatrix, Sirius & Regulus. Picture-Narcissa was chuckling as she was wearing the leather jacket her cousin, Sirius bought her. Picture-Sirius was laughing and probably telling stories of his best mate, Remus. His brother, Picture-Regulus was just as happy as his brother for he could finally be with him again. Picture-Bellatrix, no longer looked pained and was instead happy as they all congratulated Regulus, who was fresh out of Hogwarts. Narcissa looked at the picture, this was the last time they were together and happy. A few months after, Regulus would succumb to the mortality of life and death. Causing Sirius to be distant, as they reminded him of his dead brother. Andromeda would quietly mourn as by family magic, no one could speak to her, Bellatrix would through herself in her grief to try and find the cause of her cousins death. And Narcissa, would mourn the family she lost.

She put the picture down with shaking hands, her sister was in Azkaban while she was celebrating? Why? And her dear cousin, Sirius was there as well. Would they ever get out? Would they ever be the same? Bella barely even met Draco, and now she couldn't meet him at all? The world seemed to have it out for the Black Family. She couldn't seem to stomach the thoughts any longer and went and dragged herself to the wine cellar, to drown her thoughts of Azkaban, her sister and the Sinclair Heir.

Aunt Petunia told Harry that she would take him to Diagon Alley and he would do everything he needed to and she would tell Vernon that she sent him away for chores so that she and Dudley can be away for a little while. She opened the door of the cupboard and crouched down to the boy inside of it. "Hello, Harry." She looked at the cut on his cheek as guilt and protectiveness surged through her. "I brought the leftovers of tonight's meal, I told Vernon that I was to eat it before anyone else could. It's cold but i didn't want anyone to wake up."

The boy nodded and took a bite, "Thank you, Aunt Petunia. I appreciate it." The boy finished his meal when Petunia went to get a glass of water for him, Harry drank it all and held it out for her with a whispered thanks.

"From what I remember, there is a Wizarding hotel of sorts in Diagon Alley, I hope you can make it there and stay there until school starts. I believe your parents left you a trust fund at a Wizaring Bank, so you should be covered in that department. I believe it's called Gringotts? I'm not sure, so don't quote me on it." Harry chuckled at his aunts jokes, she was the only one who could really make him laugh. Well besides the snakes in the garden of course.

She stood up and put the glass on the kitchen counter. "Now, I'll take you before Vernon manages to wake up" she pet his cheek and kiss his scar. "Goodnight Harry, ... I love you." Petunia whispered before she closed the cupboard for the night, as guilt followed her to bed.

In Azkaban, Regulus Black sat in front of his brother and cousins cell. Smiling as he listened to their banter. Dementors stayed clear of their cells, out of respect for family. "Remember when Regulus surprised Narcissa by sitting in the dark with her birthday cake just waiting for her to wake up?" Sirius asked out of the blue, Regulus, in question mock glared at him. He didn't know what to do, if he left he couldn't say happy birthday and she wouldn't of known it was from him.

Bellatrix, however laughed at him. He was dead and they were fucking laughing at him. Great. "I woke up from her screaming and ran there, thinking she was being attacked. So when I got there, wand in hand remind you, I saw Reggy just sitting there beside her bed holding a birthday cake, looking as innocent as a unicorn while Narcissa on the other hand looks about as frightening and angry as a Thestral." Regulus did crack a smile but he would not forget that they were laughing at him. "Remember the party we went to? The one before he died? There was a moment where i saw him where he looked so happy to be there with you. I miss the little bugger."

Sirius laughed, letting a tear fall. "One time, I was putting my godson to bed once with one of our mothers lullabies, the only good thing to come out of our childhood; when Harry whispered out a little 'Reg' into the air. I was shocked as Harry was staring at the air beside me. I guess that myth is true. The one that says that children can see beyond the living plane, maybe he saw Reggy, I'll never know." Regulus smiled as he remembered Harry that day, the little one was adorable and he wished he was still alive to meet him.

"I guess Harry did see him that day. How old would Harry be turning anyway?"

"Eleven. Today or the next few days is his birthday. I wonder who raised him, hopefully someone who could teach him about our world."

"Hmmm, I wonder if Regulus is looking after him." He suddenly felt very tense and guilty, because if Sirius knew he was here he would've yelled at him to look after his godson. He shifted on the ground and moved a few rocks. "Are you fucking kidding me?" Sirius sighed as he reached the cell doors. "Regulus, what the fuck? What are you doing here? Why would you be here? Dear god, if it's you and I'm not insane go and check on Harry. Please. And I hope you're not air." Sirius ended with a huff as Bellatrix cackled.

"Imagine that. Sirius Orion Black talked to air. Study shows this is the cause of being innocent in Azkaban." She said, her own voice dripping with sarcasm as she pretended to be the Daily Prophet. "Oh stop glaring at me, Sirius. You'll burn a hole through the ground."

"Maybe then I could swim free, Bella dear." He sat back down and sighed. "I don't get you. You can easily escape but you choose to be here?"

"The minute I escaped, is the minute my dear sister, would be watched every second of every day. And there would a goose chase for me, never ending."

"Oh, I didn't think of that."

"Do use you brain once in a while, Sirius."

"Do you two ever shut up?" Rabastan Lestrange complained from the cell to Sirius' left. "Some of us are trying to sleep."

"Oh please. Lay off it." Barty Crouch Jr. retorted from his cell next to the Lestranges. "You never once complained about noise, you literally made the most noise when we first got here." Shuffling was heard on the gravel as someone changed positions. "I mean, honestly."

"Well, excuse me for trying to sleep in the UNEXCAPABLE PRISON!" Rabastan complained as he shouted the very last part, trying his best to sleep without the Black Cousins annoying him to death.

Sirius Black, however scoffed, "Yeah right, tell that to the Unregistered Animagus in the cell right next to me."

"Oh shut it! Sirius, you can't even hope to escape with a dog form!" Bellatrix shouted back, "Come to think of it, it makes sense you're a dog. Sirius Black literally means Black Dog!"

"Why you shut up." Regulus sighed to himself, this was going to be a long afterlife. Stuck choosing to watch over these two idiots who laugh at him.

Chapter Text

The morning of August 17th, arrived filled to the brim with opportunities. It would be two weeks before Hogwarts opened its doors for both new and returning students. Draco Malfoy was currently sitting in the Dining Room with both of his parents, in the back of the room was the boys Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, framed. Curtesy of his parents, who at the moment had eyes shining with pride. "So, Dragon. What do you want to get first?" His mother asked, of course she had wanted to see him get his wand for eleven years. But she could wait. Lucius dropped his fork as he too looked at his son for the answer.

Draco thought for a minute before deciding parchment, quills and ink. "Could we get my parchment, quills and ink first, Mother?" His father smirked as served himself a cup of tea.

Narcissa Malfoy smiled at her son, "Of course we can. Now, if you don't get into Slytherin. We won't be upset, you're supposed to be your own person, not an image." His father merely rolled his eyes behind his tea and looked at his wife.

"Honey, have you met our son? He acts just like you when you were in Slytherin, if a mini you is going to Hogwarts. There's no doubt that he'll go to Slytherin, and that's not wishful thinking, dear."

Narcissa rolled her eyes, "Of course I know that! I know he'll go to Slytherin with his ambitions and cunning. But can you blame me?" She asked, the unsaid mention of Sirius Black went noticed by the two other Malfoys, but didn't verbally mention it. "Now, we'll go after breakfast."

His Aunt Petunia would've gone to Slytherin if she had just a bit more magic, she was almost a squib. But she clearly had enough to not be labeled a Muggle to see The Leaky Cauldron. She remembered all of Lily's explanations of the Magical World to know you needed a wand to get through. "Hello, my name is Petunia and I need help getting my nephew into Diagon Alley." She claimed to a witch sitting on a barstool, "I didn't posses enough magic to go to Hogwarts, therefore I don't have enough to get a wand." The witch nodded and pulled her wand out to tap the brick and grant access to Diagon Alley for them. "Thank you." Aunt Petunia said as she guided her nephew in the alley, the bricks closing after them.

"Wow." Harry said beside her, taking in the view of several witches and wizards about going to stores. The stores themselves were just as amazing to the eleven-year-old as the prospect of being one of them.

"It looks just like Lily said it would." His aunt said beside him, her hand on his shoulder with her other covering her mouth. "This was her world." Harry allowed her a minute to collect herself and they went to Gringotts where Goblins actually did everything. Because Wizards were incompetent. They walked in and were met with a Goblin behind a desk, "My nephew is here to look at the trust fund his parents set up for him."

"He was left on my doorstep with nothing but a blanket. My sister said a key can be created if they do a blood test, is that possible?"

"Yes, obviously. Griphook!" The goblin shouted out towards another who directed them to his office.

"Now, I hear you're interested in having a blood test done to determine your nephews credibility." Griphook stated as Petunia nodded while Harry looked interested in how the Magic would work. "Would you also like to have a new key created and have the other one destroyed?"

"Yes. We don't know who has it." Aunt Petunia answered as Griphook grabbed a needle and outstretched his hand for Harry's. Harry put his hand on the Goblins and didn't flinch when he pricked the child's finger. Griphook put the blood in a vial of liquid and shook it. The vial glowed blue, Griphook poured it out as it shaped the key.

"This will only work for your nephew, I figured you would appreciate it if only he could open the vault. Now, let's go." The goblin directed them to their vault as he explained Wizarding money on the way there. Harry, not knowing what he might need took twenty-five of everything in a small bag charmed to hold whatever amount and never feel heavy or full.

Raven Sinclair would be going to Diagon Alley with her family's house elf, who stayed with them out of her own loyalty among the rest who stayed. "Hi Poppy!" Poppy turned and smiled holding her outstretched hand and appeared in Olivanders, where she would get her very first wand. "Thank you!" House Elves always seemed to know where their chargers would want to go.

"Dear Merlin, if I don't see it with my own eyes." A man whispered as he came from outside the back. "Raven Sinclair, The Girl Who Died. Well, I guess not much anymore." He chuckled as he went towards a box that looked out of place from the rest, with a piece of parchment attached to it. "A week ago, a fellow wand maker of mine who is also a seer, sent me this wand she made claiming that a girl starting Hogwarts would need it and none of mine would work. Never though much of it, until you appeared. She included what it was made of, 11 1/2 inches, Blackthorn with Thestral Tail Hair." He held the box out to the Sinclair Heir who took it as she felt warmth from it, she opened the box to find a wand with dark wood with carved leaves on most of the bottom stopping somewhere near the middle. The carved leaves had traces of silver, and she carefully picked it up. She waved it around as green and silver sparkles flew out of it, Poppy shared a smile with her as she let out a laugh.

"Thank you! Uh, can I keep the box?" She asked as she waved the wand again. At the man's nod, she sent Poppy to put it in her room as she paid for the wand. She left the shop going to get all the books she would need and then some.

Draco Malfoy was causally buying parchment, quills and ink while his parents stood by the door looking like he just took his first steps. He caught sight of Madam Malkin's Robes For All Occasions and decided he would go there after. He went and walked out the door while his mother had a house elf deliver his purchase to the Manor. "I'm going to get my robes, could you get my Potion ingredients and school approved cauldron?" His father could see his lie and agreed, as he walked to get his robes. It wasn't a lie since he was indeed getting his robes, he also just felt drawn there.

"Ah, welcome!" Madam Malkin stepped down from a stool as she welcomed him. "Hogwarts?" At his nod she directed him to a stool to get his measurements, a minute passed before a young boy opened the door causing the bell to ring. He had brown hair and circular glasses framing his green eyes, he sat down on the waiting couch.

"Are you going to Hogwarts too?" Draco asked the young boy who flinched a little at his question. He nodded "Any idea what House you'll be in?"

"No, not really. My aunt could only tell me so much." The boy replied as he looked down at his hands.

"Why not?" He asked softly, as Draco thought that maybe sounds hurt or startle the boy.

"She didn't have enough magic to be able to go to Hogwarts, she only knows what she can based off what my mother told her." The boy shrugged as he was called up to get his measurements as Draco sat down where he once was when a girl, about the same age as them sat next to him.

"Hogwarts?" He asked the girl next to him, she nodded as the girls House Elf appeared beside her. "Where's your parents?" The girl tensed but slowly relaxed.

"My Dad can't afford to be seen, the papers would be all over it for his name. My mother is in Azkaban."

"Oh, I'm sorry about your mother. Why can't your father be seen in public?" He asked, slightly curious. Is his reputation good or bad?

She laughed, "You'll understand when you know my name. For now, call me Raven." He laughed as well as he replied with his own name. "Are you waiting for him?" She asked as Harry was finished and took her place as she took his.

"Yes, now we'll wait for you." She nodded as Draco begun to tell the boy about Hogwarts and her houses. The founders were brought up a few times as well, both to include context and because they were some of the most powerful and intelligent wizards and witches, both in their era and across time. He turned to the boy beside him, "My names Malfoy, Draco Malfoy" He held out his hand and smiled when the younge boy shook it. The boy said that his name was Harry as Raven came over. "Did everyone get their wand?"

"Yep!" The girl replied as she made her way over, "it was my first stop." Her House Elf walked over to her, strangers were rare and they scared her. "Who wants to finish their shopping together?" They both nodded as they went to buy potion ingredients and for Draco to get back to his parents. They walked over to Draco's parents as they met with them and went back inside as the other two shopped for their ingredients. Raven helped Harry with his cauldron and ingredients, as Draco talked with his parents.

"She's a pureblood witch, but I can't tell which should be impossible as I should be able to know with just a look." His mother commented as she looked at the girl who was picking out the cauldrons for the both of them. "Do you have any idea, Draco"

"No, she wouldn't tell me. All I know is that her father couldn't be here as the papers would report it and her mother is in Azkaban." Beside him, his mother gasped as his father looked on with pity.

"The poor girl, growing up with a mother in Azkaban? Never to see her and a father who would be hammered by the press? I couldn't imagine living like her." Lucius stammered out, while his eyes looked at her eyes which held sorrow and jealousy just a moment ago, now held happiness.

Raven returned with her items as the house elf tried to grab it. "Are you sure, Poppy? You already carried my books." The house elf, Poppy just glared and crossed her arms. "Oh, fine." She held out the potions, ingredients and cauldron as Poppy eagerly took them back to their Manor. "She likes to work for my family ever since my father freed her from an abusive master, so she tries to repay us and return her gratitude. She owes my father a life debt, so she became protective of me." She explained at the raised eyebrows of the elder Malfoys. "Now, come on slowpokes. We got places to be." She joked as they continued shopping while the Malfoys got curious on who exactly she was.

Meanwhile, Albus Dumbledore planned for the arrival of Harry Potter and figured out how he would groom the boy to be his winning card in this war. Professor Qurirell would become the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, maybe he would give the boy a nudge to becoming a heroic image. Harry Potter would be sorted into Gryffindor and would become friends with the Weasley kid, he would make sure that he controlled everything about his life.

His gatekeeper, Hagrid jumped through the door. "We have a problem," he claimed as he walked into Dumbledores office. "The key to Harry Potters vault crumbled to dust when I was in the vault for the stone." Dumbledore stood from his chair as Fawkes backed away from him, as of now he was beginning to hate the headmaster. Dumbledore went to the window in his office and contemplated what this would do to his plans. He would have to pay the Weasley kid with his own money then, Granger could stunt his intelligence maybe. He looked at the Sorting Hat, this would be the first milestone in his plans.

"That's quite alright, Hagrid." He replied equally as calm as he could be, Fawkes flew out of the open door. Needing to get out of the confines of an office, Dumbledore watched from the window as Fawkes flew over the Forbidden Forest in the night sky.

Harry Potter woke up in his room at The Leaky Cauldron, he went downstairs where the innkeeper, Tom was cleaning one of the tables. He looked up as Harry came downstairs, he chuckled as the innkeeper took his order. "Excited?" He asked as he poured a glass of milk for the young boy, "I remember being nervous when I went on the train, I was sorted into Hufflepuff and would later own The Leaky Cauldron. Just remember, everything'll fine. And hey, you already have two friends. You're doing better than I was!" He laughed remembering the memories as he put the plate down in front of the child.

Tom started to clean the other tables as Harry ate his food, before remembering something. "Hey, Tom." He started out as Tom went back to his table, "How am I going to get to Platform 9 3/4?" He asked Tom as he took Harry's glass, plate and money.

"Behind you is a fireplace that can transport you to near the train. All you have to do is grab the green powder that's over there, toss it in the fire and shout 'Platform 9 3/4', then you'll be there." He said as Harry nodded and rushed to double check if he packed everything and left with a 'thanks Tom'. Harry went to his room, door number six and opened his trunk, which would only open to him and had many compartments as the shopkeeper had said. He nodded and grabbed his wand and trunk and carried it down the stairs, Tom was there at the bottom showing him the time, which would mean he had to leave. "Bye Harry. Have fun."

"Thanks Tom," Harry said as he used the Floo, hopefully correctly and landed in a train station with a red train proclaiming 'Hogwarts Express'. To his right, near a wall was a family of redheads, two were laughing as they walked to the train. He lifted his trunk and attempted to put in the compartment above one of the seats when a voice behind him asked.

"Need help?" Harry nodded as he couldn't reach it, the voice went and slid the trunk into place. "My names Fred"

"And I'm George." Another voice added as the twin brothers sat down across the compartment, Harry nodded as he sat down.

"I'm Harry." He added as they put there's down on the ground. "What House are you in?" The redheads grinned as the looked at each other before turning back to him.

"I have a feeling I might go there," He said as their faces morphed into curious expressions. "A friend of mine explained the houses two weeks ago, it just seemed to fit." They nodded as the compartment door opened, revealing Draco Malfoy and Raven Sinclair. They immediately sat down, Draco on Harry's side of the compartment while Raven sat in the middle of Fred and George.

"So, are you finally going to tell us?" Draco immediately asked as he sat down, both nervous and excited. When she shook her head, he deflated. "Why not? You tortured us for two weeks and you still won't tell us?"

"Okay, I'm-"
"Confused, what's-"
"Going on here?"

Raven shook her head and laughed, her silver eyes glowing in mischief. "He wants to know my last name ever since I mentioned how the press would report about my father." She laughed at the situation as both of the twins grinned.

"Well, then-"
"Why don't you-"
"Tell him?"

She looked back at them and grinned, silver eyes filled with amusement. "Where's the fun in that?" She asked, gaining an innocent tone. She turned back towards the sulking boys and snapped her fingers, getting their attention. "We haven't introduced ourselves to our guests, come on people."

"Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." The blonde announced as he realized there were guests, the twins shared a grin as they introduced themselves as Fred & George Weasley. They shared a laugh at his shocked expression until he finally composed himself.

"The only Weasleys-"
"You won't like-"
"Are Ronnikins and"
"Percy, plus our-"
"Slytherin-hating mother."
"And who are you?" Fred asked as he looked at Harry.

"My names Harry Potter," He said as Raven seemed to understand, quickly she shifted their attention back to her.

"My names Raven No-Last-Name-Given." They turned towards her and laughed as she winked at Harry, who breathed out a sigh of relief. Their door opened and four boys and one girl stepped in. They sat on the other seats as they realized they would have to introduce themselves again. "He's Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Fred & George Weasley and I'm Raven."

They nodded as the girl spoke up, "My names Pansy Parkinson, He's Blaise Zabini." She pointed to a chocolate skinned boy who raised his hand. "He's Theodore Nott, known as Theo." A boy with brown hair and brown eyes waved his hand. "And finally, those are Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle." She finished as everyone else nodded, save Draco who knew them already. "And why don't you have a last name?"

"I'm torturing Draco," Raven put it simply, "He wants to know my last name so I'm refusing it because when he does hear it, it's gonna be hilarious." Pansy nodded in agreement as a boy with red hair came barging in.

"Can i sit here? Everywhere else is full." He asked as Fred & George laughed at their brother, who then noticed them. "Oh, you're with the slimy snakes that call themselves my brothers? Then I'll go somewhere else." He announced before slamming the door and going back around. The compartment went quiet as everyone processed what happened while The Weasley Twins stared at the door.

"I wouldn't listen to him," one of the twins started out as the other one finished for him. "Ronnikins was raised by Slytherin-hating Gryffindors, anything he says is pure rubbish anyways..." The compartment once filled with laughter was silent as they realized they would have to deal with it for the rest of their lives. "Anyways, I'm sure you'll do great at Hogwarts." George said as the train started moving and watched as parents waved to the train. Harry and Raven both got out a book to read while Fred & George plotted for the Returning Welcome Back Pranks, Pansy sat next to Raven and waved her wand to see the sparkles, Draco, Theo, Blaise, Crabbe & Goyle played Chess & Exploding Snap. "We're getting close, I'd put your robes on right about now." They stopped what they were doing as Harry and Raven bookmarked their respective books, and put their Hogwarts Robes on.

The train pulled to a stop as they stood and walked out to see a giant calling out for First Years, "Firs' Ye'rs! 'Ver Here!" They walked over to the gatekeeper while Fred & George went a different route. They each went into different boats as the boats went to an entryway to Hogwarts while the First Years took in the beautiful sight of the magnificent castle. They were directed to a hallway before a door where they could hear all of the students, laughing and recounting their summers.

An old witch with spectacles around her eyes who was wearing a green robes and hat cleared her throat as they all looked towards her. "The start of term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room." All eyes were staring at her as they took in each and every word, thus beginning their Magical Education. "The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours." She went to leave the hallway before she turned back and spoke again to the wizards and Witches who, like all the other students would worm their way into her heart. "The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting." She left while they all began to panic, the redhead they saw earlier began to proclaim that he was 'Harry Potters best mate' and would have to fight a troll. Of course, everyone rolled their eyes. Especially, the group towards the back. Finally, they were allowed to enter and saw four rows of tables with banners above them telling which one was Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin. They also noticed the lit floating candles above, lighting the Great Hall up. Raven wondered if their was any unlucky students who got hit with melted wax once. There was an old hat on a four-legged stool and they watched with fascination as a tear opened up and the Sorting Hat began singing.

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

The Sorting Hat settled down as the students and professors, alike all clapped. Fred & George Weasley were waving in a way that was so obvious, laughing she waved back as they smiled and quieted down. Professor McGonagall stood up and unrolled the scroll. "Abbott, Hannah." She read as a young girl sat on the stool while the Professor placed the hat on her head. The hat shouted out "HUFFLEPUFF!" "Bones, Susan" went to Hufflepuff as well, Terry Boot to Ravenclaw, Lavender Brown with Gryffindor, Millicent Bulstrode to Slytherin, Michael Corner went with Ravenclaw, Vincent Crabbe with Slytherin Fay Dunbar went with Gryffindor, Tracy Davis to Slytherin, Hufflepuff earned a Justin
Finch-Fletchey, Gryffindor won a pyromaniac by the name of Seamus Finnigan, Draco, Theo & Pansy went into Slytherin and so on. Until the professor reached, "Potter, Harry" gasps filled the Great Hall as everyone wanted to see the savior who did what an adult couldn't even do. Harry felt the the hat cover his eyes as he felt a warm presence enter his mind.

"Hello, there. While it is my job to sort you, may I offer a bit of advice? Good, now the Headmaster is a tricky thing, likes to manipulate people. If I were you I'd stay away, now anyways on with your Sorting....Difficult. Very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind either. There's talent, A my goodness, yes -- and a nice thirst to prove yourself, now that's interesting.... So where shall I put you? Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that. Well then, SLYTHERIN!" Gasps filled the Great Hall as Harry walked over to the Slytherin table, who was cheering the loudest. Fred & George were shouting that they 'got Potter'. Harry sat down next to Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson, Vincent Crabbe & Gregory Goyle. Meanwhile, the Headmasters eyes widened as his hand was threatening to break the table. Severus Snape was a little surprised as he looked at the smiling boy, who when he looked closer looked more like Lily then of her late husband.

"No, it can't be." Professor McGonagall whispered as she stared at the scroll, "Sinclair, Raven" she let out weakly as once again gasps let out as she walked over to the Sorting Hat, loving the faces oh her friends who looked shocked and all around trying to wrap their heads around it. That she wasn't dead. The Sorting Hat entered her mind as it accessed her memories and who she was.

"Ah, let's see here. Hmmm, does seem like a Ravenclaw but you do share more Slytherin traits, once again a difficult sorting. Ahh, there you are. A true Slytherin. Now, as a Slytherin, I would offer you some advice. Don't go near the Headmaster and don't look him in the eyes or get close to him. Now, SLYTHERIN!" The hat was taken off her as everyone was still shocked at the fact that Raven Sinclair didn't die ten years ago. She walked over to her group of friends, who were still understandably still in shock. So she waited as the sorting ended and the feast started.

"You're Raven Sinclair," Blaise whispered out, who had not bothered with his food. "The Daily Prophet reported that you and your father were murdered by Death Eaters ten years ago and your mother, who no one knows is still yet to be heard of." He stabbed the roast with his fork, "How did you survive? There's no physical way you could've."

By now, every self respecting Slytherin was looking there way and listening, she smirked "I didn't. My mother faked our deaths, it was the easy way out of the war. Can't be killed if you're dead. We would've been hunted and wanted by both sides of the war, A Death Eaters family and a neutral father who was a Sinclair. We held more power then we knew what to do with, we are the most powerful family in Wizarding Britain, in politics and Magic."

Blaise hummed in thought, too lost to process the fact that one of the tragedies of war was a mother protecting her family. "Why didn't you reveal yourselves when the war was over?"

She laughed as she remembered all the times she asked her father the same question as a young child, "My father was a Ravenclaw who was too cautious and paranoid for his own good, and a lovesick husband who took his wife's words to heart." She took a bite of the roast as still the Slytherins wanted answers. "Besides, we could never truly be safe."

"And your mother?"

She sighed as she stabbed the roast like the boy beside her did, "Azkaban." She said simply which turned everyone's mood sour as they pitied Slytherin's newest member. After that, they were escorted to the dungeons. Where their home would be for the next six years.

While above them in the Headmasters office, Albus Dumbledore grabbed a glass sitting on his table and threw it at the wall before doing the same to the table, and the chairs. "It's all falling apart." He said to himself as he took in his ruined office. "Maybe, the plan can still work. I just have to guide him in the right direction and it'll all work out." He whispered as The Sorting Hat drifted off into memories of easier times, an era of The Founders, where the memories of Godric, Rowena, Helga and Salazar would comfort him.

Chapter Text

Timetables would be handed out by one's Head of House at breakfast on September 2nd. Like clockwork, all the Heads stood up and handed each timetable to the respective student. The First Years were sitting at the very end of each table, making it extremely easy for each Head of House to deliver the First Years' Timetable. Severus Snape, Head of Slytherin House was currently handing out the Timetables while he thought about the Potter boy and Headmaster Dumbledore. Dumbledore, seemed to be closely watching the boy. For whatever reason, however it didn't stop the feeling of dread in his gut. Carefully, he got in the Headmasters line of sight distracting him. Let it be said, Severus Snape was protective over his Snakes. After all, he showed them favoritism because students treated them so horribly. So he let them have the chance to be treated like they deserve, with respect. While the Gryffindors who hated them suffered, receiving the same treatment they give his Snakes. He reached his godson and Potter, along with their other friends. It was certainly a surprise to hear that Raven Sinclair was alive and well, the nights events gave him a lot to think about as he worked out his First Year classes. He gave each of them their Timetables, ready to leave. Before, "Thank you." Potter had said, so much like his mother. That he could see Lily in the boy before whispering out a 'you're welcome' and walking to the Staff Table. He sat down next to his fellow teacher, Minerva McGonagall as she looked over to the Slytherin table over where Potter, Sinclair & Malfoy were at.

"For the longest time, I beat myself up for the Sinclair Family's deaths," She whispered to him as Raven Sinclair was laughing with her friends. "It took years before I accepted that I couldn't do anything to help. Years that I beat myself up, wondering what I could've done. Before I knew what's done is done." She paused as she took in the scene, "And now, she shows up out of the blue. It feels too good to be true. Like I'll wake up and the anniversary of The Sinclair Deaths will be on the paper." He nodded as he remembered ten years ago as he heard the news, as he tried to figure out who could've betrayed their cause and murdered a child. And then, Lily was murdered a day after. Setting off a chain of events, his employment, Longbottoms' enteral residence at St. Mungo's, a memorial for both the Sinclairs & the Potters and Harry Potter sent off to god knows where. "She looks so happy," she added as she pushed her spectacles up. "But how could she be?"

All too soon, classes were announced to be starting as First Years panicked before looking over the Timetables once again before deciding to follow their first teacher. The First Year Slytherin and Hufflepuffs followed Professor Qurirell to their Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Which as soon as they stepped inside smelled full of garlic, "Now, Defense Against the Dark Arts is a tricky subject as you're defending yourself from a even more tricker field." Qurirell said as his students first sat down. "Some of you may not know the basics, so we'll learn that first and once everyone's on the same pace and caught up. Then we can begin." The plan was to spend the week going over the basics as some Muggleborns and Half-Bloods learned what they could so they weren't too unprepared. For homework each night, they would read two chapters of The Dark Forces: A Guide To Self-Protection and write a summary about it.

Their next class, History of Magic with the Ravenclaws proved to be just as boring as it was were warned to be. The professor was Hogwarts' only ghost professor, Professor Binns. And as he droned on and on, more students' heads started dropping. Most of the Slytherins still up and awake out of pure force and determination. As the last Ravenclaw dropped, the bell for lunch ran, freeing every poor unfortunate soul from that class. The group of Slytherins were the first ones out of the classroom as they walked to the Great Hall, a few yawns in between. As lunch was served, each Slytherin towards the end felt someone watching them. Soon each one felt uneasy as a Fifth Year noticed that the Headmaster was the one watching them, his eyes focused on Harry Potter and the Slytherins surrounding him. Eventually it stopped as the Slytherins walked back to their Common Room, each Slytherin who noticed talked to Severus Snape as soon as he too, walked in. "Attention! May I have your attention please!" Their Head of House shouted out over all the noise, each student probably gaining whiplash for how fast their heads turned. "Thank you, Dumbledore seems to be keeping a close eye on us this year. As you know, no one is to be left alone in the case of a student attacking one of our own. Once again, I urge you to not go anywhere alone. If Dumbledore asks for you, please say you have a scheduled meeting with me. Anything you can think of. Thank you." He announced while Harry wondered what was so wrong about being alone.

"What's wrong with being alone?" Harry asked as a Fourth Year nearby overheard, the student walked over before anyone else could explain.

"Ah, I forgot you're new." She said as she sat down on the one of the Slytherins Common Room couches where they were sitting at. "Early on, students, mainly Gryffindors began to hex and curse any lone Slytherin they could find. They hated Slytherin and misjudged us by our long history of producing "Dark Wizards & Witches"." She explained, the last bit in finger quotation marks. "There is nothing wrong with being A Dark Witch or Wizard, anyway one of Slytherins Head of House said that no Slytherin should walk alone for fear of being cursed or hexed. The students agreed, seeing as it was the only option. Since then, that was what every Slytherin or Head told the new First Years." Harry nodded as Raven looked intrigued on who the Head of House. "I'll be going now, see you later, newbies."

The bell soon rang signaling the end of their hour-long break, the First Year Slytherins went to their first Charms class and their first class with the First Year Gryffindors. All of the Slytherins sat on the left side of the classroom, while the small group inside of the Slytherin managed to all sit in the middle row. Their professor was a tiny little wizard who had to stand on a pile of books to see over his desk. "Now, for you're first lesson. You'll be in pairs and don't worry, you can choose your partners!" He finished quickly as he saw everyone's dreaded face. "We'll be learning the Levitation Charm, today. So sit with your partner right about now," Raven partnered with Pansy, Harry partnered with Draco, Theo partnered with Blaise and Greg partnered with Vincent. "Now, practice the wrist and wand movement with me." He instructed as they practiced the movements until they got it right, "Now, don't forget that nice wrist movement." squeaked Professor Flitwick, perched on top of his pile of books. "Swish and flick, remember, swish and flick. And saying the magic words properly is very important, too. Never forget Wizard Baruffio, who said 's' instead of 'f' and found himself on the floor with a buffalo on his chest."

Harry tried first as he remembered what his Charms textbook said and imagined his magical core reaching out to the feather, and commanding and teaching it through the process. He opened his eyes, "Wingardium Leviosa!". To his surprise and enjoyment, the feather was levitating, floating in the air. While his housemates and friends didn't have a wand before Hogwarts, they did read up on the theory of it all. Raven, spent all of her years being driven and interested in the knowledge from her library. And therefore, made it easy for her to cast the charm. As was the case for Draco, Blaise, Theo, Pansy, Greg & Vincent.

Harry turner toward the other side of the room, his feather still levitating to see Weasley glaring at them, most importantly. Him. His partner, a bushy-haired girl by the name of Granger also looked in the direction and immediately raised her hand.

"Professor," she said innocently as soon as he picked on her for her question. "I believe you said that the only way for a First Year to get this charm correctly on the first try was if someone studied the theory for a day at most." He nodded at the suggestion as she grinned. "Then why is it that Malfoy, Potter, Sinclair, Parkinson, Nott, Goyle & Crabbe managed to do it? They would've only had a few minutes and their textbooks are nowhere to be seen. I believe, that somehow they have to be cheating." She finished, smugly as she believed to have caught them. A snort from one of the Slytherins, however caused annoyance in her eye.

"Miss Granger, rest assured my students are not cheating." He added as he tried to defuse the situation as quickly as he could. "Malfoy, Sinclair, Parkinson, Nott, Crabbe & Goyle managed to do it on the first try because they're Purebloods. And like all Purebloods, they would've had a library at their home to learn from as well as two magical parents to teach and explain things to them." By now, the Slytherins were smirking at Granger as she lost her cool exterior. "For Mr. Potter, I assumed he read his textbook before school had started. Plus with the help of his friends managed to learn it. Now please, don't make anymore accusations against your classmates, Miss Granger. Both in or out of the classroom." He finished as the bell rang for the class to be dismissed. Harry saw Professor Flitwick stare at a small statue atop his desk, the professor smiled at him as he left the classroom.

Herbology was their next class with the Ravenclaws, they too would be learning the basics as not everyone knew about the magical and nonmagical plants and fungi. Their homework would be to write a twelve inch summary of one plant of their choosing and turn it in by their next Herbology class which was Wednesday.

For Dinner, the Weasley twins ate with them as they had fun smiling and waving each time they caught Ron glaring at them. After which, they went to the library before retiring to their dorms.

The dorms each held only two people and had each First Year dorms on the same level, Harry & Draco were in one dorm, Blaise & Theo had the one that was right from Potter & Malfoys, Goyle & Crabbe shared the one across from Potter. Pansy Parkinson shared her dorm with Raven Sinclair, while due to the odd amount, Millicent Bulstrode, Daphne Greengrass & Tracey Davis all shared a dorm that was right across from Parkinson & Sinclair's. With a hurried "Goodnight." Each went to their respective dorms as they fell asleep, unaware of the danger above that presented itself as their Headmaster

The Headmaster above sat in his office behind his desk, as he filled out the new problems Harry Potter being in Slytherin caused. Finally, he figured out how he would get the Weasley to manipulate Potter for him. If not, well then maybe someone close to him will be better suited. The Weasley would have to do something worth his while, otherwise his plan would crumble.

In the corner of his office sat a phoenix, who now so desperately wished he didn't agree to watch over the Headmaster & Headmistresses of Hogwarts for his old friend, Godric Gryffindor. So that he didn't have to witness what Dumbledore was speaking of.

Chapter Text

The very next day was when they had Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall who was the Gryffindor Head of House & Deputy Headmistress. She was easily one of the teachers you wouldn't want to cross, if not for her fiery gaze then for the fact that she didn't care which house you were in. She would cut any attitude or misbehaving in her classroom, however some say that she'll very rarely allow for one to grow their mischief. The Slytherins had their Transfiguration class with the First Year Gryffindors that sadly housed Weasley and Granger. An obnoxious redheaded brat and a know-it-all with a passion for hating Slytherins in their spare time and class.

When they first arrived at McGonagall's classroom, they had the luck of missing Weasley & Granger. But not for long, as they came barreling into the classroom, late. As they interrupted the silent classroom, Professor McGonagall looked at them under her spectacles. "Five points from Gryffindor for being late Mr. Weasley. And another five for being loud on the way in." The Gryffindors around them turned around and glared as they went towards their seats before they moved on and turned their attention back on their professor. "Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts," she said. "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned." With that being said, she changed her desk into a pig and back again. After that display on what her field could accomplish, the professor instructed everyone to take complicated notes, detailing the theory of it as well as basics and what Transfiguration can do as a whole, etc. Then they were each given a match and were instructed on trying to turn it into a needle. By the end of the lesson, only Raven Sinclair, Harry Potter & Hermione Granger had made any difference to their matches; Raven and Harry had fully turned it into a needle where Granger had turned her match only silver.

Charms with the Hufflepuffs turned out to be even better without the Gryffindors, for the sole fact that they literally didn't care that they were Slytherins. Let it be said, Slytherins were most likely to get along with a Hufflepuff. Thankfully, for that class all they did was write so very important notes and practice the Levitation Charm and so the Hufflepuffs can master it. Professor Flitwick kept glancing towards their table, before staring intensely at a statue on his desk. Charms class was easily enough as Raven was delighted when a Hufflepuff asked for help, and she loved being asked questions that she could easily answer on Magic and the Charm.

Soon enough, Lunch arrived and the Weasley Twins once again joined them. Keeping the First Years oh so safe from the glares of their brother and his new friend, Granger. They had apparently bonded over their mutual hatred of Slytherins, Dumbledore had stopped staring at them and was eating his lunch while McGonagall & Snape had a peaceful conversation. It seems that the Heads of Houses could get along but not the actual Houses themselves.

After Lunch, First Year Slytherins would have Double Defense Against the Dark Arts with Professor Qurirell, for the class they would take notes on what is considered to be "Dark Magical Creatures" after that, he would begin to cover the basics once again as he collected the two-chapter summary from the night before. Their professor assigned them to read the next two chapters and write a summary as he dismissed them once class ended, feeling unfamiliar magic wash over him.

The Slytherins would spend the rest of their day before Dinner finishing their homework and assignments, some would read up on other material as they waited. When Dinner was announced, they left the library as they rushed towards the Great Hall. Which was still as beautiful as it was when they first arrived, candles lighting the way as it floated while the ceiling was charmed to look like the night sky. It brought over a sense of peace when she looked at it during nighttime. She looked over at Harry who was still uncomfortable at all the awed stares, she got used to it, only finding amusement in it. She walked side by side with him, "Imagine they're staring at the night sky or whatever else might help." She whispered as he looked at her before brightening up with a whispered thanks, they went to their table.

Wednesday Morning, they had Herbology with the Ravenclaws, for this week, like Professor Qurirell they would be going over the basics. Thankfully, they only had Herbology with Ravenclaws so they wouldn't have to deal with annoying heroic Gryffindors. Professor Sprout was the Herbology professor and the Hufflepuff Head of House, she was perfect for her house. Just and loyal, she like her Badgers didn't care about House as she helped her students regardless. When a question about a certain type of plant was asked, Raven was reminded of her father and how she didn't write to him. Maybe she was used to being in the next room, she'd have to ask Poppy to deliver her letter. Wouldn't want to give him a heart attack, now would we.

Transfiguration with the Gryffindors for Wednesday was all about learning the theory and what one could accomplish with her field of study, they were all told to take notes. Professor McGonagall was a brilliant teacher, for she had a gift as every student payed attention as she explained Transfiguration and its uses. Raven was copying each word down, for while she did have a huge library, she didn't have the knowledge that McGonagall displayed in her lesson. One of the worst things about the lesson was how Granger wouldn't let her talk as she asked a question each minute. She also seemed to think that she was the only student paying attention and all in all, was a know-it-all who thought she knew everything.

The bell came as the students packed up and went down to the Great Hall, Neville Longbottom hurried after them. He poked Ravens shoulder, as she turned around. "Sinclair, well hi, I'm Neville Longbottom and I was wondering if I could spend Lunch with you. Ron is getting really annoying and its bad enough that I share a dorm with him, could I spend the uh Lunch with you guys?" He asked as he was desperate, when he would go to the other end, he could still hear him mock his family. She nodded as he sighed out of pure relief and walked side by side with the Slytherins. "I'm sorry if I'm intruding, I just can't spend another minute listening to him. You can hear him even on the other end of the table." Surprisingly, Raven nodded as she laughed.

"He does have that trait, doesn't he? She asked as the Slytherins beside her nodded, agreeing completely. "It's fine to spend Lunch with us, you can just walk over whenever you need it." He smiled for the first time since Transfiguration, trying to find the nerves to ask the Slytherins. Wasn't his fault, as they were friends with Crabbe & Goyle, who at first glance and many more, looked as if they can crush you with their bear hands, his guess is that they kept some people away for the group. There was also the fact that he was always nervous, but it turned out better than he expected.

They walked to the Great Hall, their group of Slytherins and one nervous Gryffindor. They sat down as Neville Longbottom sat between Crabbe & Goyle, they were all laughing and eating as Neville sat amazed, he was told by people that Slytherins were monsters. Of course, he didn't believe it, but how could anyone when they all acted so human? He joined in on the laughter and jokes, happy to be apart of something. But of course, it had to end when Weasley opened the door to the Great Hall and saw a Gryffindor sitting with the Slytherins. He immediately walked over as the group of Slytherins that befriended him all groaned in annoyance as he stopped before them, acting as if it was a pleasure to be in his presence. "Why is he here? Did you curse him? Is that why? Or did you-" he gasped as another thought entered his mind. "Did you use the Imperius Curse, like the slimy Death Eaters that you are?"

Immediately, every Slytherin in the vicinity who heard, stood and raised their wands at him. Including his own brothers, Fred & George Weasley. Soon people from other Houses came and aimed their wands at him, daring the Weasley to say another. Percy Weasley, an ambitious Gryffindor walked to his brother and pointed his wand at his brother, just like his other brothers. "Have you no shame?" Percy stated as Ron tried to escape but the wand behind his back belonging to his brother wouldn't allow it. "I thought our Father raised you better than this, poisoned by our mother. Listen to me Ron, back away from them and never bother any of them again. Or I can't save you from the wraith of those behind the other wands'" He said as he dropped his wand arm as Weasley walked to the Gryffindor Table, his hands shaking from the feel of the Magic behind the wands whose family he insulted. Percy apologized to the Slytherins on his brothers behalf as he smiled at Fred & George, he glared at his Gryffindor brother when he went back to his Lunch.

Their break passed quickly as they went over their assignments with Neville, who they quickly adopted into their friend group. Their day passed by rather quickly, Neville had once again joined them for Dinner

Afterwards, they would meet at the Astronomy Tower at midnight for their Astronomy class, which would only be on a Wednesday night. They were only instructed to search for planets and the constellations, such as Sirius and Regulus.

On Thursday, Raven woke up her roommate, Pansy Parkinson hitting her with a pillow. "Okay..ow I'm awake! Pansy! I'm awake!" The girl finally relented huffed a 'finally' and sat on Ravens bed while she showered and got dressed, "Okay," she said as she got out of the bathroom, Slytherin Robes on as she bent down to get her book bag. "What was so important that you needed to wake me up."

The other girl shrugged as she turned to the window, the water of the Black Lake causing a green tint to their room. "You were going to be late and we can't travel alone." Raven nodded as they left the Common Room, they hurried to the Great Hall as the Owls dropped by to deliver the mail. Nearly each owl had a Daily Prophet in their beak, Raven felt dread pour into her gut as she and Pansy approached the table, she plucked a Daily Prophet from Blaise as soon as she was sitting.

"Hey!" The boy squawked as she took his paper, "I was going to read that!"

Most of us remember hearing the dreadful news that the Sinclair Family except the mother, was found dead in their home. We remember feeling sick to our stomachs as we saw the Dark Mark in the sky, proclaiming that a Death Eater killed a child who was about to turn one and a father who wanted nothing to do in the War.
Well be prepared folks, as our source from Hogwarts reported that Raven Sinclairs name was called to be sorted on September 1st, surprisingly someone went up and it turns out to be the long thought dead, Raven Sinclair.
Our source tells us that they were walking by when they heard the dreadful tale of a mother willing to do everything it takes to protect her child. "I was simply curious," our source tells us. "After all, who wouldn't be when someone apparently rises from the dead. Anyways I'm getting off track. I heard her answer a question one of her fellow Slytherin First Years ask," our source tells us we finally learn what happened that dreadful night of October 30, 1981 "She said that she didn't survive the attack. That her mother faked their deaths, it was the easy way out of the war, apparently. Can't be killed if you're dead. She told the Zabini Heir that they would've been hunted and wanted by both sides of the war, A Death Eaters family and a neutral father who was a Sinclair. That was all I heard before I went back down to my own table."
A desperate mother played a desperate move to protect her Husband and child, Raven Sinclair's mother, as it turns out is revealed to be a Death Eater! But which one, might we add? We here at the Daily Prophet are ever curious to find out. Our source told us one tidbit of information before they left, that Raven Sinclair's mother is in Azkaban. Maybe that is a clue?
(News on Harry Potters sorting on pg. 3)

Raven put the newspaper down as everyone looked at her, she glared at them until they got the message and looked away shamefully "How could this of happened? All I remember from that night is an annoying beetle." She asked, still refusing to show the school an emotion. She calmed down as Neville sat down next to her, with a smile in hand.

"It'll be okay. I'm aware Sinclairs like to keep secrets, and you're probably keeping your mothers identity a secret to protect her." Neville said in a soothing manner, "But, hey. No one knows who she is. All they know is one little fact about her. Relax, everything'll be alright." He added as the tension in her back slowly went away, she looked at him as he started to eat his breakfast.

"Thank you, Neville."

"You're welcome." He finished as he pulled out a crystal ball, "My grandmother brought me my Remembrall," He said excitedly, hoping to change the mood and bring out everyone's cheerful side. "I just got it from Owl Post. It turns red when you forget something and becomes clear when you remember." Neville explained as he held the crystal marble.

Harry looked on in wonder across from Neville as he took in the crystal marble, Raven continued to read the paper, avoiding her front page. "It reported on Harry's sorting," she said absently and when she was finished she gave Blaise's paper to them to read while Blaise looked on in longing at his paper.

Many people who saw Raven Sinclair also saw Harry Potter be sorted into Slytherin before her. This came as a great shock to the people in the Great Hall, after all some were raised hearing the stories that Harry Potter was a heroic legend who would be sorted into Gryffindor.
However, this is where I started to become curious. Harry Potter wasn't raised by Gryffindor parents, so it could be assumed that he had a equal chance for each house. In the end, he ended up going to my own house. Slytherin House is grateful to have a student from the House of Potter.
Even more so, how could a toddler who turned one a few months ago defeat a Dark Lord, who easily defeated many talented wizards and witches? Maybe, we should be asking ourselves what Lily & James Potter did that night before we put our hopes in the hands of a young boy who had just started his Magical Education.

"I'll give it to her, she's a clever witch." Raven said as she chewed on a piece of bacon. "Not only does she find it impossible for a baby to do anything, but she manipulates her readers enough that they want to find the truth themselves." They hummed in thought as Draco looked at the clock, signaling their class. They got up, Pansy walking side by side with Raven as they went towards class.

They had Flying Lessons with Madam Hooch at 3:30 PM, right after the free period after Transfiguration with the Gryffindors. It went great, no incidents that would greatly affect a student. Unless you count Neville's broken wrist, he managed to give his Remembrall to Blaise before being brought to the Hospital Wing. Therefore, lessons were cut short.

The last day of the week was finally here, Blaise got pretty annoyed at Theo for waking him up at four am due to his morning routine. 'I mean honestly, classes start at nine am. You wanker,' he thought bitterly as he walked down to the Common Room where surprisingly, Raven was. "Couldn't sleep?" He guessed, she nodded as she kept reading. He sat down next to her on the couch as he stared at the green fire and fish passing by the windows. He started to hum a melody his mother would sing, not realizing he was doing it. Until she closed her book and listened, when the melody ended she smiled.

"My mother was a fan of stealing lullabies and melodies from her family, I can still hear her sometimes." She smiled fondly as she got lost in the memories, "She kept her identity a secret because her father wouldn't allow it. There is also the risk of The War, the reason why we still keep her secret is because we would still be targeted for the things people think she has done." She paused as her eyes turned misty, "And because if she gets out, people will target us and we will all be shamed and hunted for being associated with her. As well as, my mother would receive the worst punishment." She paused as she looked in the fire, smiling fondly. "We have a pensive at home, where I would look into the memories of my father, her classmates, her family and herself. He managed to not rouse suspicion by claiming it was so that the real side of people would be heard. He deleted all the records and the memories of people who remember him asking, I could look into her memories and then I would remember that she's in Azkaban." She paused as she looked at him, "Please don't tell anyone, I don't want to give anyone any more clues." He nodded as they fell into a comfortable silence, one that was ruined when Theo barged in, loudly.

"What are two doing, get dressed."

"It's four am, you bloody wanker!"

"Classes start at nine!"

They had Double Potions, their first class of Potions as well as the first class with their Head of House. Potions lessons took place down in one of the dungeons. It was colder here than up in the main castle, and would have been quite creepy enough without the pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls.

Snape, like Flitwick, started the class by taking the roll call. Once he finished, he addressed the class. "You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potionmaking," he began. He spoke in barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word, like Professor McGonagall, Snape had the gift of keeping a class silent without effort. "As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death, if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

More silence followed his speech, everyone seemed especially interested. Hermione Granger was on the edge of her seat and looked desperate to start proving that she wasn't a dunderhead.

"Sinclair." Snape said as his eyes picked out one of his Snakes. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

"Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death, Professor." Raven Sinclair answered as Granger looked disappointed and slumped in her seat.

"Malfoy, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?" He asked as he looked towards his godson, Granger's hand launched into the hair, he however ignored it."

Hermione stretched her hand as high into the air as it would go without her leaving her seat, Draco answered it with ease while most of the class was confused, except for Granger and Purebloods, who have been taught before they were sent. "A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons, Sir."

"What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

At this, Hermione stood up, her hand stretching toward the dungeon ceiling.

"There is no difference, Sir. They are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite." Harry said as he remembered the few other Potions books that he had bought, now in his trunk.

"Excellent job to Mr. Malfoy, Mr. Potter & Miss Sinclair." Snape said as he turned around to look at the class, "15 points to Slytherin." He added as the Gryffindors looked annoyed, Granger in particular looked upset.

At the end of the day, The Headmaster was in his office as he planned what he was to do about Potter, Weasley and maybe his friends as well. He would win the War, he knew Tom was alive and well, like Sinclair. And he would use Potter to win it. The school cackled with anger, hatred at the man who hurt students and hatred at the fact that he had no idea what he was getting himself into.

Harry was enjoying walking along Hogwarts, Neville had asked if he wanted to walk with him. Harry agreed, they walked along the hallways and corridors. He was enjoying walking around in peacefulness and getting to know Hogwarts. A look at Neville, and he assumed he did as well. They were walking along one of the hallways when one of the Hogwarts Ghosts came from a wall, they jumped startled. The ghost looked at them, he remembered seeing him on his Sorting. The Gryffindors Ghost, Nearly-Headless Nick. He brightened from whatever was beyond the wall and grinned, "Hello, Neville. Are you lost?" He ghost asked,

"No sir, me and Harry were enjoying a walk across the Castle." Neville responded as Nearly-Headless Nick looked towards Harry before he grinned

"Hi Harry, can I call you Harry?" Harry nodded as the ghost smiled, "What House are you in?"

"Ah, I had a friend in Slytherin House. I'm sure your mother would've been proud of you, she had a friend in Slytherin. They were best of friends. I would watch them as he waited for her by the tower and they would study in the library." Harry nodded as he thanked the ghost as he remembered something.

"Are you okay, Harry?"

"Yeah, it's just that I never thought that they would be proud." He lied as he remembered his Uncle telling him that his parents killed themselves to get rid of him. He beat the thought that his parents hated him into his mind. Neville nodded as they exited the Castle, Hogwarts was a beautiful place. As she seemed to be sentient, as she would direct him to classes or he could hear her.

Outside was even better, The Black Lake was beautiful outside. He could see the Giant Squid, he sometimes saw it in his window. There were many magical and nonmagical creatures in the Lake, some were deep underwater and some were close to the surface.
He sat down near the Lake as Neville put his bag near a tree so nothing bad would happen to it before he sat down. An enormous black boar hound suddenly ran and put its head on Harry's lap, startled Harry jumped before relaxing and petting the creature. The dog had a collar, so while still petting the dog he looked for a name tag. The tag had his name and his address which seemed to be a hut, "Fang" he said as the dog looked at him. Harry scratched his heard as the dog licked his wrist, "Do you wanna pet him, Neville?"

"FANG!" Fang jumped up as a giant of a man walked over, Fang ran over and started to jump up excited to see his owner. " 'M sorry. Fang, he doesn't ormally do that." Harry nodded, assuring the man that it was quite alright. "The names Hagrid, Keeper of Keys & Grounds at Hogwarts." He went to leave before the man stopped at turned around, "If you ever want to vist Fang, just knock on me door." He said before leaving, Fang with him as his tail wagged.

Harry & Neville stayed their for a while before they left to see if their friends were still in the library, surprisingly they were. Draco noticed them and sighed out of relief, "They're back. Can we leave now?" He asked as several heads turned his way, 'finally' was said by each and every one of them. Harry was confused on what that before Draco pat his hand on Harry's shoulder. "It just means that we wanted to leave." Neville laughed as Draco turned to him, "And, you're just in time for Lunch." He said as the group walked out of the library.

As they were about to go to the Great Hall, Headmaster Dumbledore caught up to them, "Harry, my boy. Would you join me in my office, tonight?" He asked with a twinkle in his eye.

Harry tensed as he was reminded of Snape's announcement, "No sir, We have a meeting with our Head of House. To see how we're adjusting as First Years." He lied, Dumbledore sighed as he nodded before opening the door. Thankfully, he believed him as his group headed for the Slytherin Table.

"Odd." Draco said as the Headmaster whispered to Snape, who tensed and forced himself to relax as they talked. "What's that old fool up to? Obviously, Snape has to have some idea." He said as Snape nodded towards them as he and McGonagall talked, Harry looked at the Headmaster who was lost in thought.

"What'll happen the next time he asks? I can't just say the same thing twice." Harry said as the others stiffened, realizing the problem. They looked at him and Snape, before back at him.

"Ask him later if you can use detention as an excuse later," Theo said as all eyes went to him, "What? It's a great idea. You can't just visit the Headmaster when you're in detention." He defended as the rest mulled the idea over.

"Theo, you're a genius." Raven said, suddenly. "Look at him, he obviously wants to talk to Harry. Maybe Snape can catch him in the third-floor corridor or whatever, we got Harry covered. What about us? He won't believe that all of us suddenly have detention with Snape." Crabbe looked at the Headmaster, as he thought about it.

"How about we ask Professor Snape about it and not turn into rash Gryffindors?" Crabbe questioned as they looked at him before nodding, "We have a break right after this, so we'll ask him then." They finished their lunch, not without feeling the Headmaster's eyes on them.

They left the Great Hall when Snape had also left. "Professor Snape." Greg had said when they caught up to him, at the Professor's raised eyebrow he continued. "We would like to speak to you about our Meeting," Snape nodded, understanding the secret meaning and led them to his office.

"What happened?" He asked immediately as they sat down, Theo was the one they stared at so he sighed.

"We were about to go to the Great Hall when Headmaster Dumbledore stood in front of the entryway, he said and I quote 'Harry, my boy. Would you join me in my office tonight?'. Harry said that we have a Meeting with you about adjusting to the school as First Years." He paused as he took in a breath before continuing. "I brought up the idea that Harry could use detention as an excuse, but Raven mentioned about the rest of us if he decided he wanted to talk." He finished as Snape hummed it over.

"Makes sense why he was staring at the Table, why not use the meeting again?"

"You can't use the same lie twice, it'll get you caught." Raven said immediately, "It was an old saying my mother was fond of."

"Okay then, I wouldn't use detention, the Headmaster is allowed to pull students from detention so it wouldn't work." He said as the students deflated, smirking he suggested something else. "A friend of mine was excellent at asking the question back at them before saying she couldn't. Another was fond of coming up with lies, getting them used to rejection and then saying no."

They mulled it over, "That'll work. But we need a believable excuse." Blaise said as the rest nodded, he gasped "What if we get a school owl to fly over to us every time he asks the question and saying we have to go?"

Harry's eyes widened as he took in the idea, "That will work. I have an owl and she'll do it, she's extremely clever."

"Okay it's settled then, how do we actually do it. She'll need a letter to deliver to him."

"Owls should be able to sense when their owner is uncomfortable or scared, so we know she'll come. Only the owner can understand what their owl is saying, so you'll just have to talk to her and it'll be fine." Snape said as he grabbed his quill and wrote down something, "I'd tell your owl right about now,"

In Azkaban, there stood a black dog in a cell. Trying desperately to escape, a ghost watching over him. An Unregistered Animagus in the next cell, laughing at both of them. One of their cell mates by the name of Barty Crouch Jr. had already escaped by the help of his mother. The place had seemed quiet without him, Regulus Black looked at the night sky. As it seemed, both Sirius & Regulus shined brightly upon the night sky.

The dog whined as he looked at the full moon, memories of running along side a stag, rat and a wolf filled his head. He missed the stag and the rat, but he missed the wolf more. He whined once more as a howl answered him across Britain.

Harry was sure he was being an idiot as he went through the unlocked door to the third floor corridor, he was sure it was forbidden and dangerous to go here. But yet, here he was wandering through it. At the very end of the corridor was a huge door that had sounds coming out of it. Curiosity peaked, he walked over as what sounded like soft snoring greeted him. He was about to open it before a hand grabbed his wrist and stopped him, his hand above the doorknob. His heart beating fast he looked at the owner of the hand and saw his friend, Raven Sinclair. "Are you trying to get yourself killed? This is the Forbidden Third Floor Corridor, it's forbidden."

"What can I say? I'm curious as to why it would be forbidden, besides the door was unlocked so it can't be dangerous." She sighed as she opened the door and they walked inside, it was a dark room not much like the rest but the sounds of snoring were still there.

The sounds of snoring comforted her, until they weren't there. The door kicked open to allow light and that's when she saw a Cerberus, a giant three headed dog, most commonly used as guard dogs. The dog has filled the entire space, from ceiling to floor. The dog lifted up to his full height as the eyes spotted them, who were like a deer in headlights. It was standing quite still, all six eyes staring at them, their sudden appearance had taken it by surprise.

Raven had, either bravely or stupidly, moved towards the creature as she raised her hands in a surrender motion. The dog, confused lowered his heads as she put one hand on the middle dogs' head. Harry could hear her singing what appeared to be a lullaby as he walked out the door, waiting for her to catch up. Once the creature had fallen asleep, she had sat down and pet one of his heads while the lullaby had ended. When she was sure that he was asleep, she pet him once more before leaving. She left the room, closing the door softly as she walked over to him. "This is why you don't wander around and go into forbidden places, you could've been killed." He nodded as she tore into him, whisper yelling at him. He distantly wondered how she knew he was even gone, "Draco had woke up and discovered you were missing, when you weren't in the Common Room, he went to our room and when you weren't there either. I volunteered to find you myself, after checking Blaise and Greg's rooms of course." She explained to his unvoiced question, "Draco was worried sick, so you had better apologize before you go to sleep."

"I will, but why would they keep a dog that big in a school full of children?"

"Are you daft?" She asked as they stopped in the middle of the dungeons. "Cerberus' are used as guard dogs most of the time, and as you left. The creature was sleeping on a trapdoor, obviously guarding something... Now, let's go so you can apologize." They started walking as Harry remembered a saying in Hogwarts: A History, Gringotts was the safest place in the world for something you wanted to hide, except perhaps Hogwarts.

After a reported break in at Gringotts, that had already cleared out before. Maybe whatever was in Vault 713, was now in Hogwarts. With a vicious guard dog on top of it.

Harry had walked into the Slytherin Common Room, seeing all his friends there, hade made his guilt return tenfold. "Um, hi," he said as soon as Raven dragged him towards one of the couches. He was met with glares from everyone as Raven coughed.

"Who wants to hear the amazing reason why Potter, wasn't present with us?"

Harry couched as the glares increased, "I'm sorry for not telling anyone, I couldn't sleep so I wanted to explore the Castle at night. So that it could help me sleep." He explained as he had originally been there for he had waken up from a nightmare about his previous residence.

Pansy looked at him, her glare softening. "And where did you go exactly?"

".....The Forbidden Third Floor Corridor." He said quietly, however it did nothing across the quiet Common Room. Eyes widened as they looked at him.

"Do you have any idea what could've happened?"

"Are you mental?"

"What if you gotten hurt?"

"This would've given Dumbledore another chance to talk to you!"

"What if you were caught?"

"Thank god we sent Raven to fetch you."

Each one of his friends had managed to be heard, loud and clear. Luckily, Raven had enough of tearing into him and allowing the others to do it themselves. "I think he now knows what a horrible idea that was, so how about we all go to sleep." They agreed as he and Draco went back to their dorms, hidden worry and angry in Draco's grey eyes.

It was a week before Halloween and Harry was in a good mood as his friends got passed their glaring stage from last night, now they just seemed worried and wondered if anyone else saw him there. Raven looked smug, but he saw the worry in her eyes last night. He still wondered how exactly she was able to calm the dog down, she stayed calm. Something that he couldn't do in the face of the Cerberus.

All Harry knew was that the Cerberus was guarding something, possibly whatever was in Vault 713.

His friends were understandably worried, so he only focused on his school work. So that they wouldn't worry about him, this was the first time in his life that someone was worried about him, of what he could remember at least. So he was overwhelmed to say.

However, Halloween was coming up and so was the anniversary of his parents' deaths. Raven, however was happy as a bee.

"Why are you so happy?" Theo asked one day while they were finishing assignments in the library.

"October 31st is my birthday," she said as the others gained whiplash from how fast they looked up towards her. "My dad manages to give me the best and meaningful gifts, so I want to see how he can compare from last years."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Draco asked as he thought of all the ideas and catalogs he has.

"You never asked." She said, grinning. "Besides, I didn't know we were at gift-giving friendship level." She added smirking, the friendship level became an inside joke when someone (Theo) asked someone else (Draco) why they were knitting. The someone else replied that they "weren't at that level of friendship" and continued knitting.

Draco stammered as he added the dates in his head, "That means we only have a week to get you something!"

"Hmm, I guess so."

The others shared a look, they were going to get her the best gift on the planet. She deserved it, and besides they were on gift-giving friendship level.

Chapter Text

Vincent Sinclair was a busy
man, Head of the Sinclair Line and was now allowed to be out in public. Reports desperate for a story or words, they would get nothing. Today, he was shopping for his daughter's birthday. The man behind the counter looked up at the bell and his eyes widened as he took in Vincent's brown hair and blue eyes, the freckles across his cheeks and nose that his daughter shared.

His daughter's birthday would be in a few days and he would give her the best gift, as she deserved it. For the pain and longing she suffered growing up, as well burden of carrying the Sinclair name. He looked across the shelves, he tried every store and he was desperate to find this one thing. Then he could focus on the other gifts, Aha! There it was, he picked it up and went to the counter to pay for it. Thankful that he had finally found it.

Draco Malfoy was a boy of many talents, he was browsing through catalogs; looking for the perfect gift to buy. After all, he had just finished making the gift he made. Flipping the page, his eyes were drawn to the middle on the left. It would be perfect for her! He got up and shipped his order out, as he breathed out a sigh of relief.

His thoughts drifted to the Weasley Twins & Neville, only the Slytherin First Years knew about her birthday. It wasn't right, so he set out to upstairs to tell them. "Fred! George!" He said as he caught them about to leave the Common Room.

"Yes, what's the-"
"Problem, Dracokins?"

He glared at them for the name, "Well, I was going to tell you about Raven's birthday, but I guess not."

"When is it?"

"October 31st." He answered grinning, "I just wanted to let you know, now I'll be off to tell Neville."

Pansy Parkinson was thankful that she shared a dorm with the upcoming birthday girl, it made it easier to find out what gift to get her. She considered making something for her, but she didn't have the skills to make anything. So she settled for buying something sentimental for her roommate, she had a few catalogs and she could always borrow Draco's if needed. She flipped through the catalog as she glanced at the girl on the bed reading a book, she was on the last page of her last catalog when she gasped. It was perfect! And it suited her perfectly, she grabbed a quill and signed off on her order and went to the Owlery to send it off.

Blaise Zabini never used to have a problem with gifts, given that he knew most of the people for his entire life, Raven Sinclair was a different case. He had never knew her before Hogwarts, as he sat in his room he tried to remember each thing about her. Which, was difficult as most of everything about her was kept a secret, including her parentage.

Let's see. He saw her eyeing a Dark Arts book from Hogwarts, she was determined to keep her mother a secret, she loved snakes, she was a survivor and she wanted to be ten steps ahead of each of her possible enemies.

Wait, that was perfect! He grabbed a piece of parchment and wrote his idea down, it was perfect. He searched for Theo's catalogs and searched for his idea, he planned his order and searched for an owl.

Theodore Nott loved mysteries and challenges, figuring out what to give his friend turned out to be the most difficult one yet. But he was in Slytherin for a reason, his friend Blaise was just sitting there with his eyes closed. So he searched his catalogs until the first one caught his eye, he thought it was a good idea. Hopefully it was.

He grinned as his friend opened his eyes, Theo was in a hurry for the Owlery.

Harry Potter never really had friends, so therefore he never bought someone a gift. However, he hoped he had done a good job. It was something he thought she might be interested in, he just hoped his gut feeling was correct with this one.

Crabbe & Goyle were planning on joint gifting, they had the idea of thinking on what they had in common with her before rushing into look through catalogs. After that, they borrowed a catalog from a Seventh Year. And by borrow, they of course meant steal. Thankfully, Raven was to be in her room all day; reading. So she would have no idea what any of them were buying her.

The Weasley Twins were of course, planning on giving her something ridden with mischief. It was of course how they meant, she was an excellent mischief maker. By the fact that every time they came across a problem. She would magically appear to show them the problem they were having trouble with and explain to them how one would fix it. They were going to be making her gift, they weren't exactly rich. But they hoped that she liked it.

They had all funnily enough met at the Owlery, each with an order in hand. "Well, well, well, what do we have here." Pansy said as she took in most of Raven's friends in the Owlery, they had each planned to send of their orders at the same time. They had stared into another's eyes, even as they tied the order to an owl and directed them to the shop. The Owls flew in different directions as they walked away from the Owlery.

Halloween had arrived, everyone who had gotten Raven a gift was woken up by Pansy Parkinson hitting them in the face. Even Neville Longbottom, though no one had any idea how that had happened. Pansy had gathered the wrapped gifts near the Common Room Fireplace, everyone was sitting on the couches near the fireplace. They were awoken at four am, the only time they could watch Raven open her presents, according to Blaise.

Raven opened her door, even when she woke up; her midnight curls were magnificent. She had fallen asleep in a silver sweater and black leggings, she yawned as she sat between Blaise & Draco. "Morning guys." She said as Pansy put her gift in the girl's lap, "Oh." She said as she took in the pile of gifts, "Oh" She blushed as she stared at the big pile, she put her head down and tore through the silver wrapping paper.

Inside of the box was a locket, it was green and held the Slytherin crest. She could feel magic coming off of the snakes embedded around the locket as well as the one on the crest. "It's charmed, you see. It heats up when someone's lying. The Snakes can also guard anything you want, a secret, a location, a person. It'll bite you if you attempt to tell it, you can always tell it to no longer guard it, as well."

Raven looked towards her, "Thank you." She said as she put it on, the locket humming as it welcomed her.

Blaise had two gifts for her, he looked excited for her reaction as she opened the one she assumed to be a book. It was a book, a book on the Dark Arts she had been eyeing lately, she gasped as she looked at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. He set his hands on her back as she unwrapped her arms turning to the book. She laughed as she opened it, looking at the pages. She closed it as she picked up his last gift, it was a black leather wand holster that wrapped around her thigh. "How did you know?" It had several charms and enhancements to let her have the upper hand in a battle.

"I just did."

She smiled as she picked up Harry's gift, who seemed to be nervous. It was yet another book, this time it was a book about magical creatures, their importance, abilities and how no creature is really Light or Dark. "Oh my, thanks Harry." She said as the boy brightened and smiled at her, she set Harry's book atop of Blaise's

Draco had given her two gifts, like Blaise. She opened one and was met with a Slytherin scarf that he had so obviously knitted, near the Slytherin crest was her initials. RS, in a perfect cursive font. She pulled it out of the wrapping paper and put the scarf on her neck, wrapping it once. She smiled as she opened his other gift, it was a statue of a dragon. "She's charmed and sentient. She'll wake you up at whatever time you ask her."

She smiled as she thought of the irony, Draco got her a dragon. She was handed Theo's gift, which turned out to be a mirror. She held the handle of it, "My grandmother gave me one when I was a child, when you give it a drop of blood, you can see a member of your family if you think about them." She gasped as she looked back at the mirror, she would be able to see her mother!

"Thanks, Theo" she said with misty eyes, he nodded as she picked up another package. Setting the mirror carefully on the pile of books, next to the wand hostler and the dragon statue who hissed at her. Crabbe & Goyle had bought her a book of curses and hexes including a pair of dragon hide gloves so that it wouldn't bruise her knuckles when fighting, the fingers were cut off of the gloves with padding on the knuckles

"I love it! Thanks you guys," she said as she put the book down next to the two other books and set the gloves on it. Fred & George had gotten her a book filled with the pranks they had pulled, looking for improvement. As well as a journal that was bonded with theirs, whatever she wrote in hers would appear in theirs and stay until they both saw it. It would then disappear.

"Oh dear, I love this!" She had put both of the books on the other one Crabbe & Goyle had gotten her, she picked up Neville's gift. His was the last from her friends, he had gotten her a plant that hadn't required much attention.

The last gift was from her father, once she opened it she had gasped. Inside was three things, according to the note. It was an advanced spell book, a charmed unicorn that would direct you to things that change your life, both good and bad. The last gift was the newest broom, a Nimbus Two-Thousand. She gasped as she put it back in its case, she yawned as she looked at all of the gifts she had got. Everyone smiled at her as they left with a whispered 'goodnight'. Pansy helped her put all her gifts into their shared room, Pansy and Raven had put them onto Raven's desk. To be sorted out later once their we're all awake.

In the morning, after their classes they went down to the Great Hall for the feast. When the opened the doors, there were a thousand live bats that fluttered from the walls and ceiling while a thousand more swooped over the tables in low black clouds, making the candles in the pumpkins stutter. The feast appeared suddenly on the golden plates, as it had at the start-of-term banquet.

Pansy and Harry were just helping themselves to a baked potato when Professor Quirrell came sprinting into the hall, his turban askew and terror on his face. Everyone stared as he reached Professor Dumbledore's chair, slumped against the table, and gasped, "Troll -- in the dungeons -- thought you ought to know." He then sank to the floor in a dead faint.

There was an uproar. It took several purple firecrackers exploding from the end of Professor Dumbledore's wand to bring silence. "Prefects," he rumbled, "lead your Houses back to the dormitories immediately!"

"Is he daft?" Raven asked as Dumbledore went to the dungeons with several teachers following him, "He does realize that we live in the dungeons, right?"

"Slytherins, to the library! Stay there until I retrieve you!" Severus Snape shouted out as he reached them, their prefects leading them to the library while calming the students down.

"How could a troll get in?" Harry asked as they followed the Prefects leading them towards the library.

"Don't ask me, I haven't got the faintest idea, the wards are supposed to prevent this." said Raven. "Either someone let it in or Peeves did as a joke." She said, she was wearing the silver sweater and the leggings as she has before. Along with the scarf Draco had made her, reminding them that it was her birthday and the feast had got ruined. "Relax, I'm fine. My birthday only matters when I'm with family, and you fit the bill." She said as she saw the guilty faces of her Slytherins, most of them relaxed and smiled back at her.

When they got to the library, she and her Slytherins sat in the very back of the library while she found an interesting book on one of the shelves. It was extremely thick and had many pages, it would probably take her one or two days. She was a few pages in when their Head of House came an hour later and escorted them to the Common Room, her Slytherins were nervous as she felt that something had happened.

Once all of the Slytherins were in the Common Room, Snape addressed them. "A troll had managed to sneak in with the help of somebody from their staff, be extra cautious. Only a staff member could've gotten a troll in through the wards." He stopped as he took in his frightened students, "Today, however we will celebrate one of our own's birthday. Happy Birthday, Raven Sinclair." He added as a House Elf popped into the Common Room, setting the chocolate cake down and whispering a 'happy birthday' to her before leaving.

The cake was chocolate with chocolate and vanilla icing, it was big enough that every Slytherin could have two pieces, surprisingly. "It is tradition to celebrate every Slytherin's birthday, Sinclair's is the first of the school year." The eleven candles lit as she sat down before blowing them out, cheers surrounded her as she cut out two peices for herself and allowing everyone else free reign.

She had sat down on the Common Room couch while the rest of the Slytherins were scattered around. There were only about ten pieces left, and she noticed that Snape had only watched over everyone. She served a piece and gave it to her Head of House, he raised his eyebrow but accepted it nonetheless. "While I thank you for the cake and the somewhat-party, you also deserve to at least have a piece." He nodded as he left for his office, Raven looked at her Slytherins, who had taken over the largest couch and were fast asleep.

She ate one more piece before she tucked herself in the middle and levitated a blanket towards them and fell asleep.

Chapter Text

They had woken up with their limbs tangled, It was a nightmare getting out. They fell on the floor and rolled around before they got free. All of the Slytherins were still in their pajamas even though it looked to be daytime, "Dumbledore canceled classes due to the troll. One of the Gryffindors had to be taken to the Hospital Wing, seeing how she tripped and knocked herself unconscious." One of the Slytherins answered their unasked question, Raven nodded as she went back to her room. She went to her desk and grabbed the mirror that Theo had given her, she pricked her finger and set the blood on the glass. Theo had said that it would remember her and that she alone was the only one who could access it. She whispered her mother's name and saw in amazement as her mother's image erased her reflection, her mother was laughing as she gazed upon her mother's silver eyes, the same eyes her father fell in love with and the same eyes she had inherited.

She canceled it as she put the mirror in a drawer on the right side of her desk. She began to sort the gifts to their rightful places, the books going to her trunk. The unicorn and dragon stayed at her desk which was near her bed, she still wore the scarf and the locket. The gloves and the wand hostler went into the clothes section of her trunk, as for the plant and journals from the Twins. The plant had stayed on the desk, on the left side further away from the bed. The journals from the Twins she put in the middle compartment before writing out a hello in the bonded journal.

Pansy had came in a few minutes later, she nodded as she brought out the last two remaining pieces of cake. "You didn't." She said weakly as her friend gave one of the pieces to her as her friend sat down on Raven's bed. The bed in question was a dark green four poster bed with dark green curtains that were drawn back, the pillows were black with silver thread. Raven had added a silver pillow and a unicorn plush to it. "Thank you, Pans." The nickname caught both of them by surprise, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"

"It's fine, I quite like it." Pansy nodded, her way of assuring her that it was fine. "Did you get everything sorted?" She asked, taking a bite of the cake with her silver fork.

"Yes, I got myself keyed to the mirror." She paused as Pansy looked up at her, "I saw my mother," Pansy nodded as she stared into her eyes.

"I'll read the books later on, I got four books from you guys and I got this book from the library last night." She paused, taking a bit of the cake. "It'll take me maybe a week or four days to read it, I don't know."

"So, what you're saying," she paused, her brown eyes alight with amusement. "That we should give you a library so you don't run out?"

"I don't know, maybe." She answered, "I just finished reading every book from just one of my family's libraries."

"How many are in your Manor?"

She hummed, "Mine has three,"

The door had burst open as the rest of their friends walked in, Blaise, Theo, Vincent & Greg had sat down on the dark green Victorian era couch while Draco and Harry sat down on Pansy's bed. "Were you trying to have a moment alone, without us?" Theo jokingly question, he mock gasped as he grasped his chest in horror. "We can't have that can we?" The others shook their heads, "We've attached ourselves to you, you can't just up and leave."

Raven & Pansy laughed as Theo finished his tragic tail of sorrow, "I see you got everything sorted," Draco said as he looked at her desk, she hummed at his statement. She finished her cake and levitated the paper plate it towards the burning green fire.

The unicorn sprung to life as it flew to her, landing in her hand before flying and stopping at everyone else. At last, when it held went to everyone, it clawed the desk on the right handed drawer in her desk. "Congratulations, you're all important in my life somehow." She stated dryly as everyone laughed, she too chuckled as she stared at the unicorn who winked at her.

"Now that classes are cancelled, we have a three-day weekend." Greg stated as he looked at her charmed calendar.

"Huh, guess we do." They stayed for about two hours before they left, claiming that they have to work on assignments.

Pansy stayed on her bed, not moving. She rolled over and looked at her, "Did you know that I almost gave up when I couldn't find anything to give you." She laughed as she recalled the day, "It was on the last page of the last catalog that I found it." She stated pointing at the locket, she still had yet to find a picture she could put it.

"I really didn't."

"Yeah, I thought you might like it. It can guard more than one secret, so you don't have to reveal your mother's identity even if you're angry." She looked up at the curtain above, "My mother always said that secrets were one of the most important things to a Slytherin. Sometimes it can mean life or death." She added as she blew out a stand of her brown hair. "The Crest is a button, when you finally want to tell someone your secret. You just have to press it twice, so you can tell."

Her hands found the locket, the chains were a dark grey, fitting in with the aesthetic. "How do you have it guard a secret?"

"You have to look at it and say 'I want you to guard' and then you would say which secret you want." She nodded, there was no way she could say it in front of Pansy, because either way she would find out one of her family's secrets.

"What is like to be born into a family that is so covered in mystery, danger and secrets?" She asked as Raven tensed before relaxing, she wasn't trying to find any secrets, she was just curious. "The Parkinson Family doesn't have that many secrets, only the few about heritage and what our ancestors did. But the Sinclair Family is covered in secrets that even Purebloods don't know who or what they are."

"We keep our secrets in the Family to protect our family, it is the reason my mother is a secret. Besides, even centuries ago our ancestors kept secrets about anything. I guess the love for the danger and secrets was passed down into the Family." She answered as Pansy's brown curious eyes stared at her, "The only way one would learn the Family Secrets would be if they were born a Sinclair or they married a Sinclair. Like my mother did,"

Pansy's eyes widened, "They always thought that your mother wasn't married to your father. How could you live with what they were saying about her?"

She shrugged, "I learned to develop thick skin early on, I had built up walls when I was seven and I looked through the memories of my mother's childhood. To see how she was raised and eventually, after seeing it too much. I learned how to put up walls, mask emotions, hide ones pain, guard ones secrets and protect someone." Pansy looked up at her as she clearly saw how much it worked, there wasn't a single emotion in the hardened silver eyes. "But that was for my Family's enemies and others who posed a threat. We, surprisingly have many." She looked down at Pansy and realized that she was playing with the other girl's straight brown hair. Pansy looked up and saw the silver eyes ablaze with happiness.

"You do realize that you are one of my first friends, right?"

"I do now," She answered as knocking from their door was heard.

"Hey, we're going to get Lunch. You want stay in here?"

"Yeah! We'll be fine, Draco!"

"Okay, I'll bring you some back!" He yelled back as the girls looked at each other before bursting out laughing.

"Trust Draco Malfoy to ruin the sentimental moment." She laughed as Raven laughed once again, they calmed down before laying on the bed, their heads hanging off the side of the bed, the world upside down.

"Who said its ruined?"

"The fact that we're not crying and instead laughing at him." They laughed again as they agreed, the sentimental moment was ruined.

Draco & Theo had brought them lunch when it had ended, thankfully they missed out on Dumbledore staring at the table once again. They had laughed as they ate their lunch, getting to know the other better. Well, as much as you can when the other one is covered in danger and secrets.

Harry had knocked when they finished their lunch, he came in with his snowy owl, Hedwig. "Sorry, she doesn't like loud noises and the Common Room is housing a fight." He explained as the owl, Hedwig relaxed upon the door closing. The rooms had been charmed by the Founders when they first got here to block out any noise, so that students could escape the noise, sleep or they needed to think.

Hedwig had launched off from Harry's outstretched arm and flew across the room, she looked at them before landing on the middle of Raven's desk. Hedwig was a magnificent owl, not only for being the only snowy owl in Hogwarts, she had lived for quite a long time, meeting Fawkes sometime in 1518. The occupants of the room, however had no knowledge of that or her extremely unusual long life-span. The owl had flown over to the bed and landed on Ravens leg, where she began to rub her head on the girl's chest and cheek. Raven had immediately began to pet the snowy owl, as the owl had squawked in delight.

Blaise had opened the door and poked his head through. "The fights over, Harry. Hedwig can come out now," he delivered as Hedwig, the owl herself planted herself on Raven's leg.

"I think she would like to stay here, so I'll leave you two with her." He went to leave before he remembered something, "When she's hungry, she know how to leave and where to go. So you don't need to worry about that."

Hedwig spent the night watching over them with her wise yellow eyes, her snowy coat a stark contrast against the green tinted dark room.

Chapter Text

November had approached and so had its cold weather and so has November's first Quidditch Game. This was the first game of the season and as such was, Gryffindor vs Slytherin. The Quidditch Teams have left before early as they needed to warmup and practice.

After breakfast however, everyone was lead to the pitch where they say in seats that were way above ground. The Slytherins were cheering loudly, a sea of green and silver. Almost all of the Hufflepuffs were cheering for Slytherin, some Ravenclaws were as well. In the Gryffindor sea, there was only one person in the grows of scarlet and gold cheering for Slytherin. Neville Longbottom, he was holding up a green sign with a snake cheering for the other team. Some of the older Gryffindors glared at the sign, thinking if they stared at it long enough it'll go away.

Raven Sinclair was once again, wearing the Slytherin scarf Draco had made her. Pansy was wearing her own not-made-by-Draco-Malfoy-scarf, they were sitting side by side. Pansy was latching onto Raven's arm and side. Seeing as Raven was 'basically a human heater. How are you not cold?' She was still wearing the Slytherin Locket that Pansy had gave her, the only difference was the picture inside; it was of her mother and father holding her as a baby and smiling. Since it was a secret, no one could open it. She opened her eyes just as the cheering got louder.

The Weasley Twins exited and was holding their brooms, walking to their side of the pitch next to their Slytherin teammates. Raven and her Slytherins were cheering loudly, the Hufflepuffs as well. The Twins waved to the crowd, mocking bowing to them before getting into position. "Captains. Shake hands." Madam Hooch declared as the game was about to begin, Captain Marcus Flint walked over to Captain Oliver Wood and they grabbed each other's hands in a death grip before smiling at each other.

Madam Hooch blew her whistle and both teams were off, flying into the November sky. The Weasley Twins were Beaters, and it was their job to keep away the Buldgers from their teammates and to throw it off to the Gryffindors. Lee Jordan, a Gryffindor was a good friend of Fred & George Weasley. And he was to be their commentator for the 91-92 Qudditch Season. With cheers from the Slytherins fueling the team, their Seeker caught sight of the Snitch while maneuvering through the different bodies and brooms. He caught the Snitch and Slytherin won, the Cheers from Slytherin & Hufflepuff grew louder as people clamored to get out of the stands.

Raven & her Slytherins finally managed to get out, Raven tackled on of the Twins, 'George' she remembered. "Great job! George!"

George looked at her, happy. "But I'm Fred." She stared at him, unbelieving. "Okay, fine. Fine, I am George." He said as he gave her a proper hug, "How do you know anyway?"

"That's a Family Secret, George."

"Fine. I'll catch you guys later, me and Fred'll change out and put everything away and then we'll meet you back at the Common Room."

"Ok, Bye." Neville said as he approached them, "It took forever to get off the stands." He said as he collapsed on the field. "I'm never going on one ever again, I'll watch from the ground." They laughed, Raven held out her hand and he took it, standing up.

The Common Room was ablaze with celebration, it got better(or worse, who knows?) when the Slytherin Team walked in. They were banners and a lot of food from the kitchens. The party lasted for a few hours, with Snape supervising of course.

Raven left for her room, she did have a photo album that she was dying to fill out. She had secretly got her house elf, Poppy to take pictures of her and her friends. And Poppy was an excellent photographer, her friends in her pictures were waving at her. She took the pictures that Poppy gave to her and put them in the slots, she looked at the border and labeled that page, 'Our First Game'. Pansy walked into the room to grab something before turning to her, "Are you not coming?"

Raven smiled and looked at the girl, "I just have a few things to do and ill be right there, I promise." The girl nodded before closing the door and leaving, she looked at the first few pages as she smiled. She loved photo albums and she wanted to look back on this years from now and remember all the things from her years at Hogwarts. She closed the leather book and pressed her finger to the lock of her trunk, it snapped open and she put the album at the bottom.

She looked back at her desk, her unicorn was winking at her. She laughed in the darkness, "I know. They're special to me." She opened the door and joined the party outside, where Poppy remained unseen still taking memorable pictures of her charge and her friends.

Poppy was a free elf, but she would rather be with her charges than anywhere else. It allowed her to have memories, enjoyable ones and it allowed her to make her charges happy. This was going to be a long year, filled with memories. And she couldn't wait to capture them all for her Raven. She popped into the room, putting the pictures in her desk drawer on top of an enchanted mirror.

They went to dinner, everybody still celebrating their win. Gryffindor looked a little upset, their captain, Oliver Wood was being an excellent sport about it, however. The Slytherins sat on their now usual end of the table, where they were laughing so much they didn't even notice the watchful eyes on them.

Professor Qurirell's mind was being torn about my two sides. Someone's magic was forcing him to do something, while he just wanted to do something for his long friend. He felt this way every time he looked into the Headmaster's eyes, it was odd and he just wanted everything to stop. He distantly wondered what the Headmaster wanted with the Potter boy, he was just a kid. If Tom knew about this, he wouldn't allow it. He just wanted to go back home, all he wanted to do as a kid was open up a book store. And now? He didn't even know what was happening to him.

Chapter Text

Middle of November was approaching and with it, December in two or one weeks. Raven had started ordering catalogs so she wouldn't have to search through Pansy's, there was now a drawer just for catalogs so she could figure out what to buy her friends when Christmas Season arrives. Everyone was waiting for Christmas, it was after all the most wonderful time of the year. But, they only had a month to go and they could wait.

However, when you wait for something it comes a lot slower. Raven pulled out the mirror, earlier she had found some pictures Poppy took at the Celebration Party and she quickly added that to the photo album. She whispered out her mother's name as she watched her mother, probably the only way she could see her. She changed the image so she could see one of her cousins. She put the mirror away and grabbed the advanced spell book she got on her birthday, she was interested in charming another mirror to show an ancestors life. It would only work if they were dead, but she was determined to make it happen. After all, who wouldn't want to see the life of their ancestors. It was an advanced spell, obviously and she could maybe get it to work in third or fourth year. Probably, it's all theoretical.

Her door opened and she glanced up, Crabbe & Goyle were at the entrance. "You can come in." She said as she crossed out notes and added them. "Is there anything I can help you with?" She said, putting down her quill and facing them.

They nodded as they sat down on the Victorian era green couch. "A snake bit him and now we don't know where to go." Crabbe said as Goyle brought out his hand, which was red, angry and swollen.

"Oh my god!" She said as she ran over to her couch, she touched the bite which made the boy flinch. "Poppy!" The house elf appeared and was carrying medical supplies and put them down on the floor next to her. Raven got the piece of cloth and tied it around his wrist, "Keep the hand below your heart!" She said as she sorted through the spell book, the only spell that would even work was a spell from Parslemagic. She groaned as she walked over and imagined a snake in front of her and whispered the spell in Parslentounge, the two boys in front of her flinched and gasped at her while the venom in the blood stream backtracked and floated in the air before being deposited in a jar. She sat down, light headed. Advanced spells were not encouraged for young magical children, seeing as no matter how powerful their core; it would exhaust them or something else entirely.

"Now, please don't tell anyone about my snake tongue. Please." The nodded as they helped her up and onto her bed, "Poppy." Poppy got rid of the medical supplies which would've proved to be useless soon enough, she passed out just as Poppy put the venom in her desk and the boys left after putting her blanket on her.

"Is she okay?"

"What do you mean she used an advanced spell?"

"She passed out?"

"Help, Draco! She's not waking up!"

"We just needed help, we didn't think that she would use an advanced spell."

"Yeah, we thought she would use a potion!"

"Raven! Wake up!"

She opened her eyes, a look at the window said that it was night time, the fireplace the only source of light. A look at the couch said that all her friends were camping out in her room. But why? She thought as she looked at her desk. Oh, yeah the advanced spell. She thought bitterly as she felt something move on her bed. Pansy was on her bed, side by side and felt her move. "She's awake!" She screamed into the direction of her friends, immediately they jumped up and went to her bed as she sat up.

"Oh my god, are you okay?"

"What were you thinking?"

"How do feel? Okay?"

"You're an idiot."

"Greg and Vincent came to us, do you have any idea how worried we were?" The last question came from Pansy as she lightly hit her with a pillow, still on her bed. She groaned from the onslaught of questions.

"I'm not really sorry, but what time is it?"

Pansy huffed at her response, but replied nonetheless. "It's midnight. Hours after you passed out, you know like a jerk."

"I didn't mean to."

"Okay, honestly I want to know something." Blaise said as all pairs of eyes turned to him. "How is it that she just woke up, but she has the most magnificent hair out of all of us?" He asked as her black midnight curls just looked, like he said magnificent.

"I got it from my mom, so ask her." They laughed as the Weasley Twins pat him sympathetically on his shoulder.

"Sorry Blaise, but you'll never have her hair." Fred said as he still continued to pat him on the shoulder. "But hey, you'll get to be seen with the magnificent curls." He added weakly as Blaise accepted his fate to be forever mocked by this.

"So, what spell did you use?" Draco asked as Raven, Crabbe and Goyle stiffened before relaxing as he didn't notice.

Raven chuckled as she shared a look with Crabbe and Goyle, "You won't know it. It's a very rare spell." He hummed in thought before nodding

"Just please, don't do it again." He said-pleaded with her, his grey eyes pleading with her. She nodded as he relaxed, letting out a sigh of relief. "Anyways, the only thing you missed was Dumbledore corning us again, he tried to get Harry alone to have a private chat." He looked at her face before trying to reassure her, "Hedwig, Harry's owl came just in time." Harry nodded beside him, Pansy sat up with her. Giving room for others to jump on the bed, Blaise landed face first on the bed at the girls' feet. Screaming out a muffed 'YES' before flipping over. "Dear god, why is your bed more comfortable than mine?" Draco asked as he sat down at the foot of the bed.

Raven and Pansy looked at each other before shrugging. "So is anyone going to sleep here?"

Theo gasped, "Sleepover!" The rest nodded. "I'll get my stuff!" He shouted out as he and Blaise went to their shared room, the rest following to their respective rooms as well.

Raven looked at the girl sitting beside her, "Guess we're having a sleepover." She said as her silver eyes were filled with amusement, Pansy nodded as the boy's returned.

"I'm taking Pansy's bed." Draco said as he went over to the bed and laid on it, "Harry, you're with me." Crabbe & Goyle took the couch while Blaise & Theo slept on the floor (with a million pillows and blankets of course) between Raven & Pansy's bed. "Goodnight people!" Draco said as he pulled the blanket up to his nose, snuggling in.

Raven laid down under the blankets, as did Pansy before falling asleep to the soft gentle quiet of the room, eyes closing as she listened to the cracklings of the fire. But not before she saw Poppy in the dark corner, she fell asleep within minutes. Her magical core replenished and grew as she was asleep, healing.

Chapter Text

Pansy and Raven woke up tangled, with one of Ravens arms sprawled out across Pansy's stomach with the girl elbowing Raven. They were the last ones awake and of course they were late to breakfast, only managing to eat a few bites before leaving for Monday morning's classes. Ronald Weasley was of course, not pleased about their return to day-to-day life. Apparently, he had hoped that they died in their sleep.

"Slimy Death Eater!" He said as he walked past them in the hallway, no one payed any attention to his outburst. The Slytherins were hoping to pass the school year without interference, thankfully they didn't have them for morning Mondays. It was the first week of December and in two weeks time, Minerva McGonagall would write down a list of people staying at Hogwarts.

Here's the problem, no one knew where they were going. Raven wasn't couldn't bring friends over and she missed her library. Harry was going to stay because he wasn't going to go back to his uncles house or the Leaky Cauldron. Draco's parents wanted him to come home but he obviously didn't want Harry to be alone. Blaise wasn't even sure where to begin with his and Theo wanted to go with one of his friends. Crabbe & Goyle were going home because their parents wanted them too, Fred & George didn't want to go home but they wanted to leave and Neville had to got back to his grandmother. She was thinking of what they would do while writing down Transfiguration notes. "Dismissed. Also, Sinclair stay after class." Professor McGonagall said while Raven packed up her stuff and waited until everyone has left. "Are you okay, Miss Sinclair?" McGonagall asked as she sat down at her desk with Raven in front of it. "You seemed to have your mind on something else, even when you took your notes."

"Oh, it's nothing Professor. It's just that we don't know where to be for the holidays."

Her Professor nodded, "I recall the same thing happening with your father and a few years later."

"Oh, you do?"

"From what I can recall, Lucius & Narcissa Malfoy were friendly students, maybe you should all go there for the holidays. Even though every professor will dearly miss you."

"Oh, thank you, Professor." She left the classroom while Minerva chuckled at her students, past and present.

"What did she want?" Draco asked as they walked to lunch, "Is it bad?"

"Oh, no. She just told me that we should go to your house for the holidays."

"She did?" He asked as he smirked. "Well, then it's all settled. Everyone who can make it, will stay at my house for the holidays." He grinned as she laughed, it was clearly decided for by their own professor.

Dear Mother and Father,

I am asking on the behalf of me and my friends, if it will be alright for them to stay over at the Manor for the entire holiday break. Some of them do not want to go back to their home while others would like to spend the holidays with the rest of us. If you could respond before the week before Christmas, I would gladly appreciate it.

With love,
Draco L. Malfoy

"Lucius!" Narcissa yelled as she finished reading her son's letter.

"Yes, love?" He asked as soon as he was in the doorway to the parlor. "Is anything wrong?"

"Oh no, nothing's wrong." She replied as her husband relaxed and sat down next to her. "Draco asked me if his friends can come over for the holiday break." Lucius looked interested as she handed over the letter, he read through it carefully. "Do we have enough guest rooms for them, dear?"

"Yes, of course, love." He said as his wife nodded.

"We'll get to meet his friends and embarrass him, right?"

"Of course, love." He answered as one of their house elves cleaned out all the guest rooms, preparing them for the guest. "We should write him back, love."

His wife gasped, "I almost forgot!" She said as she responded to the letter, saying yes of course, he can have friends over! She sealed it with the Malfoy Family Crest before eventually sending it off.

The eagle owl flew off and back to Hogwarts, the letter tied to her leg.

At breakfast, Draco was anxiously awaiting for his parents letter. He tore off a piece of his bacon for his owl when all of them flew in, delivering letters and packages for their owners. Finally, his owl Artemis arrived carrying his letter only to land on Ravens shoulder. "You remember me?" She asked the owl, Artemis hooted in response before she nibbled her ear.

"Why does my owl know you?" He asked as he took in the scene, she laughed at him before petting his owl.

"I don't know, really. She delivered my Hogwarts Letter" Artemis lifted her leg for Draco to take as she looked at him, he untied the letter as she flew up to his friend's shoulder.

Dear Draco,

Of course, you can have your friends over. We would be happy to house them for the few weeks we'll have them! Your father just had all the guest rooms cleaned out, the ones on the same floor as your room of course. I do hope you remember that Christmas Shopping is near.

With love,
N. Malfoy

He looked up at his friends who were waiting for the response. "I'm sorry," he said rather sadly, they all slumped down. "You're all invited to the Manor for the entire break." They looked at him before realizing they've been played.

"Oi! Really?" Fred asked as he threw an apple at Draco's chest.

He laughed as he caught the green apple and bit into it, "I had to! Look it's funny!"

"Sure." Raven said sarcastically while his owl was perched upon her shoulder.

"What? It is!"

"It really wasn't." Pansy said as she fed his owl a piece of bacon. "What? I'm telling the truth." She defended when she saw his offended face.

"Fine." He said as his owl nibbled on his ear, perched upon his shoulder before leaving for the Owlery, along with the other owls.

"So, McGonagall is going to check who's leaving tomorrow. I'd better pack your stuff if I were you" Their eyes widened as they realized and were gone, off to clean their room and make sure they have everything. He chuckled as they left, only Crabbe, Goyle and Neville were left on the Slytherin Table of their friend group.

Dumbledore was certain that if he laid his cards out right, Harry's bravery would come out and he would save the school. For now, he picked up James' Invisibility Cloak and packed it away in a box. Besides, James would want his son to have it. Unknown to him in the the plane parallel to their own, James & Lily were watching over their son and cursing Dumbledore's name.

Chapter Text

The students leaving for the holidays would board the train at Hogsmeade and would ride it until they arrive at Platform 9 3/4, as of right now there were still Slytherins getting their stuff ready. "Okay, I got that and that, and I'm done!" Raven said as she finally got everything packed, the others looked at each other with a 'finally' in their eyes before Theo hurried them all so they could board the train.

They had made it into the train and went into the compartment where everything started, the compartment where they all met for their year at Hogwarts. It was a compartment filled with memories and would have many more as Poppy was already taking pictures. Hoping to capture as many as she could, so that she would remember everything from each picture as they got older and looked back on it.

"Okay, my parents got the guest rooms cleaned out. You can share a room if you want to though." Draco said as he sat down once everyone had their trunks on the railing.

"I'm getting my own room!" Blaise said immediately as he glared at Theo, who looked the picture of innocence. "He wakes me up at four am every night, I'm not going to suffer through that!"

Draco nodded, smiling while the rest laughed and looked at Blaise in pity. "Anyone else want their own room." He looked around the room. "Got it, guess some of you got attached to your roommates. Well, except Blaise of course." They laughed as Blaise nodded, agreeing.

"I haven't gotten attached to the way, Raven over here sleeps late." Pansy said as she pointed her thumb at the girl in question of glared.

"Not my fault that I can sleep through anything." She replied, huffing and blowing away a strand of her curly hair in the process.

The other girl laughed at her response. "Yeah, I know." She said flicking her finger in Raven's direction.

"So, how will we get there?" Fred asked as looked up from his journal, the words on still there seeing as how two of the people hasn't seen it.

"We'll be Flooing there, seeing as how they can't Apparate more than two people at once." He said as the Twins nodded, as George opened his journal before grabbing his brother's quill and writing in his journal.

"Do you have any Christmas Traditions?"

He looked at Harry and he nodded, smiling. "Before Christmas, we look up at the night sky and find all of the constellations. After that we usually hang out at the fireplace, have a few biscuits before eventually going to bed." He said, "The constellations were from my mother's side of the Family, seeing as how her Family had a knack for naming their children after the stars and constellations." He sighed as he stared at the Scottish Countryside, "You can do your own traditions if you'd like to."

"Our traditions are finding spiders to put in Ronnikins bed and presents." They burst out laughing as George explained their 'traditions'

"We transfigured his stuffed animal to a big spider when we were five."

They got awed looks as everyone realized how young they were and how difficult it would be. "Holy Merlin, that's amazing." Raven said as she stared at them. "You should totally recreate that when we get back to Hogwarts!" They looked at each other and nodded quickly.

They pass time rather quickly, unlike the last time they were here. The compartment was filled with laughter, from start to finish. "Okay guys, we're here!" They jumped up at the sound of Draco's voice and rushed to get their trunks out from the rails. They followed him to his parents were they met in a hug. "Mother, Father these are all the friends I brought."

"Introduce us, we haven't met them in our entire life."

He looked at his parents, who were so clearly lying. He listed them off as he pointed to each one. "Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, Raven Sinclair, Theo Nott, Harry Potter and Fred & George Weasley."

"It's nice to meet you." His father said as his eyes were barley covering the amusement in them. "Now, come along. We have to get you in your rooms." He said as they followed him to one of the Floo Stations. "Malfoy Manor!" He said as the powder touched the flames, turning them green. "I'll see you soon." He said as he walked in.

The rest of them followed suite, walking into a beautiful dining room. A long dark wooden table with seats that were black, a chandelier hanging from the middle of the room. Paintings and portraits of ancestors adorning the walls. "Follow Draco and he'll lead you to each of your rooms for your stay." Lucius said as his son walked out and up the stairs, his friends following.

Draco went up the stairs to the third floor, where his room was and where his friends would stay. "The one at the end of hall is mine, knock before you enter." He said as he reached his room before walking to the next one. "This one is Harry's." Harry nodded and opened it up. Blaise, Theo, Raven & Pansy and Fred & George Weasley went to their rooms, in that exact order. He went back into his room, getting his trunk at the end of the bed. Looking at the posters of Qudditch stars, he jumped as he heard a knock. Before all of his friends entered.

"We're all done!" Fred or George said, he could never tell which one was which. He nodded as he led them towards the dining room, it was already almost midnight. His parents had obviously wanted to make a good impression on his friends seeing at the amount of food on the table.

He took his place next to his father, who was not siting at the head of the table instead at the right while Raven sat down next to his mother. The rest sat down as they settled down, Raven and his mother talked for the entire dinner. And he was getting scared as time passed, those two should've never met. With them combined, they would tear down his ego and pride. Not to mention, do the impossible.

Christmas was in a few days and the elder Malfoys were excited to house their son's friends for Christmas. They had bought them presents, even though they didn't know some. However, that didn't stop them from doing it. Narcissa stood up and clapped, getting everyone's attention. "It is a Malfoy Family Tradition to set up the tree a few days before Christmas, and since you're here. I thought we could add you in to partake in the festivities." She said as she lead them to the living room, where the tree was to be set up. A box of ornaments were set on the couch, ready for children to tear into it. "You have free reign." She said while she and her husband sat down on one of the couches, watching fondly as the children got the tree up standing on the stand that was near the fireplace in the corner. They spotted the ornaments, Raven had got the first one on the tree. It was a clear bulb that held snowflakes in it that always had snow falling.

When the tree was done, it looked beautiful. Poppy had stil managed to get excellent pictures while remaining unseen. Poppy was an absolute angel, getting the photos and putting them where she'll find them so she could put them in her photo album. Her first day at a friends house and her first day sharing a holiday break with them. She felt happy and free, maybe everything could go right.

Chapter Text

Raven was used to being woken up from a pillow hitting her face, she lived with Pansy after all. She batted the pillow away with her and opened her eyes to see Pansy's brown eyes sparkling. "What?" She asked as she laid back down, intending to fall back asleep.

"It's Christmas!"

"Okay," she said, clearly not paying attention and too tired to properly hear. "Wait! What?" She asked as she tried to untangle herself from the blankets, only to fall on the floor, legs still twisted in the duvet. "Oh shut up!" She said as Pansy laughed at her, barely controlling herself as she held on to her stomach. "Help me up!" Pansy nodded as she controlled herself and held out her hand, the other girl grabbed it and stood. "Thank you." She said as she put the blankets back on the bed. She stared into Pansy's brown eyes, "Race you!"

She took off as she ran towards the living room where the tree they decorated was at, Pansy was behind her, unfortunately for Pansy, Raven stepped her foot in the Living Room first. She looked around the room as she noticed the tree, under it was what seemed like a thousand presents. Narcissa Malfoy chuckled from her spot on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket with a steaming cup in her hand "First ones up?" She asked as she took a sip from her mug.

They nodded as silver eyes looked into brown ones, "She woke me up by hitting me with a pillow. Several times." Narcissa chuckled as she looked at them.

"I hope you don't mind, me and Lucius got you all presents."

"You didn't have to."

"We wanted to." Lucius said as he sat down next to his wife, his long hair in a tangled mess, proving that he just woke up. "We don't know some of you, so we did the best we could."

"I- Thank you." She said as she sat between Narcissa & Lucius, Pansy sat down on near the tree. "My family always opened presents together, Poppy would always get me the things I was embarrassed to say. In return, me and my dad would give her cook books and a new camera. She's an excellent photographer." She said as she stared at the presents, Poppy winked at her before being unseen to the human eye.

There was a thump from upstairs as the rest of her friends rushed down there. "I win!" Blaise said as he collapsed upon the carpet.

"Actually, I won." Raven said as Blaise lifted his head up to her, he dropped his head and groaned as the children behind him laughed as they entered. Raven sat down on the floor, her back to the couch where Narcissa was sitting.

She picked up a present and was surprised to see her name in Poppy's attempt at cursive. When she tore through the brown paper, it was another black leather book. With a note in the cover where a picture would go. For your second year - Poppy. She hugged the book close to her while she looked at the note which had a heart drawn at the end.

Each person had given two presents which explains the huge amount under the tree, Raven wasn't used to all of them. Seeing as how she and her father only exchanged one present at Christmas, but she had friends now who seemed to want her to experience the true magic of Christmas. No one said a word about how this day was for Harry and Raven, seeing as how one never had one and the other didn't experience it in full. It didn't need to be said.

Raven had gotten a raven plushie from Draco, who made it for her and a raven statue. His humor was so funny, notice her sarcasm.

From Theo, she had gotten a diary, in case it became too much to keep a secret. As well as a charmed quill, that when mixed with her blood only she could see. He seemed to understand her longing and how difficult it was to keep her necessary secrets.

Blaise had gotten her two books, one on advanced magic and the other on Dark Arts. He seemed to know that she had a grey magical core, and that she was more talented in Dark Arts. Even if some of the Dark Arts weren't Dark per se. He also sensed her seeking of knowledge and was happy to give it to her.

Harry had gotten her a book about Thestrals and a statue of a Thestral, ironic considering her wand was made with a Thestral Tail Hair. Obviously, she loved both of them. Her friends had an odd habit of giving her statues.

Crabbe had gotten a book from the Crabbe Library and sent it to her, it probably wouldn't sit well with his parents seeing how it was an Advanced Dark Arts book. Goyle had gotten her a book about Astral Projection. She had gotten them books about Charms and Transfiguration, seeing as how they were especially interested in those subjects.

Fred & George had joint gifted on everyone else's gift, nonetheless they had given her some of their beta projects and a few things from Zonkos.

Pansy had given her a silver ring with an emerald on top of it, it wasn't charmed or enchanted, but she loved it. The next gift from Pansy was a book about magical creatures.

Neville had given her a book about Herbology and a guide to what Magical Creatures eat and how to care for one, she loved both as she had an interest in plants. The Gryffindor had managed to combine his interest as well as her own.

Lucius Malfoy had given her a book about famous Witches who had done extraordinary things in the past. Along with a book about wand lore, what their woods and cores are capable of along with their personalities.

Narcissa's gift was the one she treasured most, the elder Malfoy was friends with her mother and she gave her a photo album of the pictures she could find and copy. Narcissa was popular in school, she knew Harry's mother as well. She hadn't expected that she would know who her mother is.

Draco had gotten a dragon plushie and a book about Qudditch from Raven. A pocket watch from Theo, which was custom made to have the Malfoy Family Quest carved in the front. Blaise had gotten him a book about Apparition, Crabbe & Goyle got him a bracelet which held the Crest of the wearer. Harry had given him a book of reasons to stop wearing hair gel before giving him his actual gift of Muggle explanations, so he would understand what everything was in Harry's world before he was introduced to his parents world. Fred & George had given him a book on how exactly to style ones hair, each with different hair types and colors. Pansy and Neville had given him the same thing, surprisingly which was a book of planets and constellations. His parents had given him a new trunk.

Fred & George may have just gotten everything from Zonkos, seeing as how that's the only thing they gave them, except Raven who gave them a book about Transfiguration and Remembrall, in case they forget anything.

Harry had gotten a book called All Things Magical from Draco, his parents had gotten him a book about the Potter line; which included his ancestors and their achievements. Pansy had given him clothes, Magical and Muggle. Raven gave him a new set of glasses, in case they break and a book about eye treatment in the Magical world. The mother of Fred & George had given him what they called a 'Weasley Sweater' which was green with a silver H. Someone had given him his dad's Invisibility Cloak while Raven narrowed her eyes at the Cloak.

Narcissa & Lucius Malfoy were smiling fondly as they saw the children laughing and opening their gifts, a childhood memory from years ago. They had remembered talking about children before they joined the War, they had joined for a great cause. To protect the Magical children and to ensure the safety of their world. So that Muggles, angry and disgusted of Magic could never hurt them again. And to get rid of Dumbledore who had manipulated and hurt children, the old tyrant.

But for now, they enjoyed Christmas as they smiled at the children. Hoping for a better future for all them.

Chapter Text

When Harry came back from Malfoy Manor, Percy Weasley had immediately saw the Weasley Sweater he was wearing. As he was wearing his own, red with a silver P. He accepted him into the family, not before he had to calm Ron down and take points away after he had seen the Sweater.

As Harry had went to bed, the one thing that he could not get out of his mind; his fathers cloak. Someone who had known his father had given him his father's cloak; he had something that belonged to his family. He opened his trunk and looked at the silvery material, his hands were invisible as he held it. He wrapped it around him, becoming completely invisible. Harry had walked around Hogwarts for quite a while before he heard the sound of Filch and panicked; walking into a random classroom. He heard the sounds of the old caretaker leaving and let out a breath as he leaned against the wall.

It looked like an unused classroom. The dark shapes of desks and chairs were piled against the walls, and there was an upturned wastepaper basket; but propped against the wall facing him was something that didn't look as if it belonged there, something that looked as if someone had just put it there to keep it out of the way.

It was a magnificent mirror, as high as the ceiling, with an ornate gold frame, standing on two clawed feet. There was an inscription carved around the top: Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi. His panic fading now that there was no sound of Filch, Harry moved nearer to the mirror, wanting to look at himself but see no reflection again. He stepped in front of it. His heart was pounding far more furiously for he had seen not only himself in the mirror, but a whole crowd of people standing right behind him. There he was, reflected in it, and there, reflected behind him, were at least ten others.

He looked in the mirror again. A woman standing right behind his reflection was smiling at him and waving. He reached out a hand and felt the air behind him, she and the others existed only in the mirror. She was a very pretty woman. She had dark red hair and her eyes, her eyes are just like mine, Harry thought, edging a little closer to the glass. Bright green, exactly the same shape, but then he noticed that she was crying; smiling, but crying at the same time. Next to her was a tall, black wavy haired man standing who had put his arm around her. There was a man beside them , he wore glasses, the glasses looked exactly like his. There was a black dog at their feet, who looked as if he was barking loudly at him.

Harry was so close to the mirror now that his nose was nearly touching that of his reflection. "Mom?" he whispered. "Dad?"

They just looked at him, smiling. And slowly, Harry looked into the faces of the other people in the mirror, and saw other pairs of green eyes like his, other noses like his, even a little old man who looked as though he had Harry's knobbly knees, Harry was looking at his family, for the first time in his life.

The Potters smiled and waved at Harry and he stared hungrily back at them, his hands pressed flat against the glass as though he was hoping to fall right through it and reach them. He had a powerful kind of ache inside him, half joy, half terrible sadness.

How long he stood there, he didn't know. The reflections did not fade and he looked and looked until a distant noise brought him back to his senses. He couldn't stay here, he had to find his way back to bed. He tore his eyes away from his mother's face, whispered, "I'll come back," and hurried from the room.

He came to the Mirror every night, desperate for the chance to see his family. Even if it was through a mirror, he saw the wavy haired man and he distantly thought that they looked alike. He realized, the more he had looked that he shared more than his eyes with his mother.

He had stared at the Mirror, before he noticed something watching him. He looked around and saw the Headmaster there, in one of the chairs. "I see you have found the Mirror of Erised," He said as he came up to the startled boy. "Have you figured out what it does?"

"I don't know, sir. I just see my family."

The Headmaster nodded as he sat in a chair nearby. "Let me explain. The happiest man on earth would be able to use the Mirror of Erised like a normal mirror, that is, he would look into it and see himself exactly as he is. Does that help?"

Harry thought. Then he said slowly, "It shows us what we want... whatever we want..."

"Yes and no," said Dumbledore quietly. "It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts. You, who have never known your family, see them standing around you. However, this mirror will give us neither knowledge or truth. Men have wasted away before it, entranced by what they have seen, or been driven mad, not knowing if what it shows is real or even possible.

"The Mirror will be moved to a new home tomorrow, Harry, and I ask you not to go looking for it again. If you ever do run across it, you will now be prepared. It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that. Now, why don't you put that admirable cloak back on and get off to bed?"

Harry had stood up, putting the cloak back on and heading back to the dungeons. He put the cloak in his hands as he walked to his dorm, "And where were you?" A voice asked as he turned towards the couch, sitting there was Raven Sinclair; who once again seemed to know when he was gone. She was glaring at the Invisibility Cloak in his hands, she seemed to hate it. For whatever reason.

He accepted his fate and sat down next to her, "Have you heard of the Mirror of Erised?"

She sharply turned to him, her eyes narrowed. "It's a myth. The mirror let's you see your darkest desire, no one else can see anyone's desire. It's a private thing." Her eyes took in the cloak, as she seemed to glare at it. "Why?"

"I've been visiting a mirror," he said as he looked at the green fire. "Dumbledore caught me tonight, he said that it would be moved tomorrow and he said that it was the Mirror of Erised. So that's why I asked you."

"Oh," she seemed lost in thought before she stood up and exited the Common Room. He was left in the Common Room before he went back to his room. Raven left the Common Room, searching for an abandoned classroom. It was accessible to students, so it had to be a classroom. She checked each one and she finally found the only one with a mirror.

She stood in front of the Mirror as the image flickered, her mother and father were beside her. Her mother was free and in good health as she and her father held hands, a small child held Raven's hand. The child looked like she could be her sibling, she put her hand on the mirror. As she took in her mother, who was free. She knew she had to leave, lest she lose her mind.

Her mother never left her mind, even in her dreams that night.

Chapter Text

Hagrid was the Gamekeeper as well as the Keeper of Keys, he had stumbled upon a young girl in the Forbidden Forest who had been petting a Hippogriff while reading a book to the creature. He watched as the creature laid down and let his head into the girl's lap. She was surprised but she kept reading the fairytale to the Hippogriff, when the tale ended; she made no move to leave, looking content to be there. When he was asleep, she pet him as she called out to him. "I know you're there."

"Sorry, it's not e'ery day that a student cares for one of the creatures, especially the unusual ones."

She laughed quietly, hoping to not wake the Hippogriff up. "It's quite alright." She said as the young Hippogriff snored. "I was just rereading one of Buckbeak's favorites."

"Would you like to join me for tea?" She looked at him before looking back at Buckbeak. "When he wakes up, of course."

"Of course." She said as she pet the Hippogriff's head, lulling him into sleep. "It's odd how people can choose a favorite creature by how they look. Or how the Magical World labeled them." She said as she set the book down. "Most people don't like Centaurs or Hippogriffs." She paused as she looked at Buckbeak, "But I don't see why that matters, I choose to love based on the soul."

"What do you mean by how the Magical world labeled them?"

"They decided which creatures were Light or Dark, nothing ever really is. It's only based on intent, most creatures do everything based on their survival."

Buckbeak had woken up due to the conversation and bowed to her before flying away. "I'll take the tea now," she said as Hagrid led them towards his hut on the edge of the Forest. He poured both of them a cup of tea. "Three sugars." She said at his unvoiced question, "Thank you."

She had taken a sip of her tea as a dog had come towards her, laying his head in her lap. She laughed as she pet him behind his ears, enjoying his happiness. "His name Fang," He said as she nodded. "I have another dog in the castle, guarding what Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel had worked on-" He said as he stopped, realizing too late that he said too much. "I shouldn't of said that, I should not of said that." He repeated as he looked at her, "Forget I said anything."

"It's fine. Fluffy's a nice dog,"

He turned towards her, shock covering his hairy face. "How do you know Fluffy?"

"Some say I have a gift with animals, I calmed him down and he was a nice dog." She explained as she looked at the time. "I have to go, my friends will be wondering where I am; it was nice to meet you, Hagrid."

"Where were you?" Harry said as she walked over to the Slytherin Table, repeating her words from a week ago.

"For your information, I was reading in the library." Harry was the only one who didn't believe her, he had good reason to. Seeing as how both of them loved seeking things out and keeping some things about them secret.

She had escaped from telling everyone where she was, she didn't know why she wanted to keep it to herself. Maybe the habit of keeping things to herself is rubbing off on her.

She had wondered what had brought her here, she had no clue why. But she was back at Hagrid's hut, she knocked as she heard things falling before Hagrid came into view. Blocking the rest of his house, her eyes drifted to the fireplace where sitting there was a Dragon Egg. His eyes drifted towards it as she promised to keep it a secret. "Hagrid, you can't keep a dragon in a wooden hut." She had told him, he wouldn't listen.

When she had written in her bonded journal to Fred & George about where she could find someone to smuggle a dragon out of Hogwarts, the response was immediate. Our brother Charlie, ;). She closed the book and wrote a letter to their brother, Hagrid would get into serious trouble if he was caught.

Dear Charlie Weasley,

You do not personally know me, but when I asked Fred & George for someone to help with a dragon problem; you were the one they answered.
My name is Raven Sinclair, our Gamekeeper at Hogwarts has recently been given a Dragon Egg. I do not want him caught, the dragon, Norberta has hatched and grown. She will not live probably and Hagrid lives in a wooden hut.
So, with all sincerity will you please help me smuggle a dragon out of Hogwarts?

Raven Sinclair.

She had sent the owl off with her letter, Charlie lived in Romania; it would take a while for him to read it and then send an owl back.

One week later, the school owl arrived and with it her letter

Dear Raven Sinclair,

Of course I'll help you, I specialize in dragons and my friends here would be glad to help you and Norberta.
We will come at the middle of May, which will be in a week. Just relax and we'll be there at Midnight. I'd probably take Norberta to the Astronomy Tower, that way we can easily grab her and take care of her in Romania.
Tell Gred & Forge that I said hello.

Charlie Weasley

She sighed in relief as she read the letter. Norberta would be taken off to where she could thrive probably, Charlie Weasley was a life saver.

When it was time for Charlie and his friends to smuggle Norberta out of Hogwarts, she had crept out of her dorm and was almost out of the Common Room before a voice stopped her. "Where are you going?" Draco said as he stood by Harry who stared at her.

"Nowhere." She said as they followed her, Harry put his cloak around him and Draco. They insisted on following her, they walked towards Hagrid's hut where he had given her the baby dragon; whom she had calmed down as they walked back to Hogwarts. Draco and Harry were obviously confused, when they got to the Astronomy Tower she had waited for Charlie.

She saw a figure on a broom and was relieved as he held out his hands for the dragon, his friends backing him up. She held the dragon out for him as he winked at her before leaving. "That's where you were going? Sneaking a dragon out of Hogwarts?"

"She wouldn't of lived probably and Hagrid's hut would've burned down, so I asked Charlie if he could take her."

"Who's there?"

"Sinclair? Malfoy? Potter?" Snape had asked as he saw them at the Tower. "Ten points from Slytherin and detention for being out of bed." He drawled out as he led them back to the Common Room, out of sight.

At least she's safe. Raven thought as her head hit the pillow

Chapter Text

Filch had escorted them to their detention in the Forbidden Forest, they were to look for an injured unicorn. This was to teach them to never go out and would help them later on in life supposedly. Raven went with Hagrid while Draco and Harry had went with Fang, each with a lantern in their hands.

"Why would they want us in The Forbidden Forrest?"

"I don't know, Draco."

"Neither do I."

"Thankfully, it's a Saturday."

"They can't exactly make us stay up on a school day." Draco said as Fang sniffed the ground, searching for a unicorn. "Besides, this is Raven's fault."

"Why do you say that?"

"She got us here."

"Yeah, but we did follow her."

Draco got quiet as he realized that it was his idea to follow his friend, he was just curious after all.

Fang suddenly stopped as they stared at the silver blood, belonging to a unicorn. Draco grabbed his wand and set out a firecracker and went down to search it for wounds. It had what looked a cut on its back, either from a spell or a sharp object. Unicorn blood was used for potions, but it was also used to bring someone back from the brink of death.

Draco ripped off his robe as he pressed it to the wound, the creature stared at him. It seemed that the unicorn had accepted their death. Harry stared as he lifted his wand up, releasing a bright beacon of light. For help, when movement from the bushes caught their attention. A centaur had walked through, he looked at the sky as he walked toward the wounded creature. "She is destined to die from a man's manipulation." He said as he put his hand on the creature's back. "The planets say so, but they are sometimes wrong." He said as he put his hand over Draco's and her wound. A bright light came from under it as Draco removed his robe, the wound was gone as she sat up. "My name is Firenze, I know who you are; Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. You have a long road ahead of you," He said as he got up almost leaving before looking back at them. "I wouldn't stay mad at Raven Sinclair, Draco Malfoy. She was doing what any kind witch would."

He left just as Hagrid and Raven had appeared, looking at the unicorn. She gasped as she took in the creature, she crouched down next to her. "Hey Silver, do you remember me?" The unicorn looked as if she had nodded. "Good, how do you feel? Good? Okay, can you stand?" The unicorn-Silver stood up as Raven helped her up, Silver had neighed at her before leaving.

"What? I help the creatures in the forest." She said as she witnessed their gobsmacked faces. They nodded as Hagrid led them back to the Castle.

"I figured out what Fluffy is guarding." Raven said as they both stared at her, she snapped her fingers and they stopped. "Fluffy is the Cerberus in the Third Floor Corridor, anyways one day Hagrid mentioned Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel; so I was curious. Apparently they were good friends and Flamel is the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone. A stone that turns metal into gold and creates the Elixir of Life, which would make someone immortal." She explained as they opened the doors to the Castle, Hogwarts hummed as she welcomed them.

"Why would Dumbledore put it here?"

"Beats me."

"Someone's after it. There was a break in at Gringotts, whatever someone was looking for was already taken." Harry said as he remembered the newspaper clipping he saw. The hummed in thought.

They had managed to go back to their Common Room unseen and unheard. They had figured out what was in the Third Floor Corridor, they were only left with one question. Who is after the Sorcerer's Stone?

Chapter Text

When Dumbledore had left Hogwarts, Harry had a feeling that something bad would happen. He accepted it when he saw the third floor corridor open, he had grabbed his cloak and his friends had followed him.

A few seconds later, they were there, outside the third-floor corridor; and the door was already ajar. They went inside as they walked towards the end of the corridor, it too was already open.

"Someone's already got past Fluffy." Harry said as he pushed the door open. As the door creaked, low, rumbling growls met their ears. All three of the dog's noses sniffed madly in their direction, even though he couldn't see them.

"What's that?" Raven whispered as she pointed to the Cerberus' feet, as it was hard to see in the dark

"Looks like a harp," said Draco as he looked toward the golden instrument "Someone must have left it there."

The growls above them startled them, Raven had quickly started to sing an old lullaby as the dog's growls ceased; the dog had looked at her and laid down next to her. All six of his eyes closed as snoring accompanied the dark room.

Draco and Harry crept toward the trapdoor as Raven continued to sing to the Cerberus, they could feel the dog's hot breath as they approached the giant heads. "It looks like dark down, we'll have to jump. " Draco said, peering into the trapdoor. Darkness greeting them.

"Who's going first?" Draco asked, Raven shook her head from where she was petting Fluffy.

"I'll do it." Harry said as Draco held the trapdoor open, Harry looked down as he looked at Draco before nodding and jumped.

Cold, damp air rushed past him as he fell down, luckily for him he landed on the soft ground. Maybe it was a plant? He couldn't tell, his eyes hadn't adjusted to the dark yet. "I'm fine!" He yelled out as above him, Draco let out a sigh of relief. "It's okay to jump."

Draco had jumped down and landed right next to him, Raven's singing had slowed to a stop as she too jumped down. "We must be miles under the school," she said as she looked up at the small light of the trapdoor. She whispered a spell as her wand tip glowed, allowing light. She shrieked as she she took in the sight of the plant wrapping around them. They looked down too and panicked as they tried to escape, Raven had gotten herself away from the plant; luckily.

Raven watched in horror as the two boys fought to pull the plant off them, but the more they strained against it, the tighter and faster the plant wound around them. "Stop moving! I know what this is; it's Devil's Snare!"

"Light a fire then!" Draco screamed as the plant wrapped around his neck, choking him. Raven nodded as she canceled the spell and muttered another, immediately a jet of blue flames had been sent at the plant; they screamed as they burned.

Harry and Draco pulled the plant off of them as they ran to her, the plant let out one last scream before burning up.

Harry looked around, wondering where they would have to got next. "This way," he said, pointing to a stone passageway, which was the only way to go. "Do you hear that?" He asked as they walked alongside the passageway. A soft rustling and clinking seemed to be at the end of the tunnel.

They reached the end of the passageway and saw before them a brilliantly lit chamber, its ceiling arching high above them. It was full of small, jewel-bright birds, fluttering and tumbling all around the room. On the opposite side of the chamber was a heavy wooden door.

Harry had walked to the door with the other two following him. They tugged and heaved at the door, but it wouldn't budge. "These birds... they can't be here just for decoration," Draco said as he looked at them, they were flying above the door; taunting them. They watched the birds soaring overhead, glittering?

"They're not birds!" Harry said suddenly. "They're keys! Winged keys, so that must mean... " He looked around the chamber while the other two squinted up at the flock of keys. "Yes; look! Broomsticks! It looks like we have to catch the key to the door."

Draco looked back at the lock on the door, a thoughtful expression on his face. "We're looking for a big, old-fashioned one; most likely silver, like the handle." After a minute's searching about through the whirl of rainbow feathers, he noticed a large silver key that had a bent wing, as if it had already been caught and stuffed roughly into the keyhole.

"That one!" he called out as the looked towards the key he pointed out. "We've got to close in on it!" Harry called, not taking his eyes off the key with the damaged wing. They had each taken a broomstick and followed it, backing it into a corner before Raven caught it in her hand.

They landed quickly, and Raven ran to the door, the key struggling in her hand. She rammed it into the lock and turned, it worked. The moment the lock had clicked open, the key took flight again, looking very battered now that it had been caught twice. "Ready?" Harry asked the other two, his hand on the door handle. They nodded, he pulled the door open as light stemmed into the next room.

They stepped into the room and they noticed that they were standing on the edge of a huge chessboard, behind the black chessmen, which were all taller than they were and carved from what looked like black stone. Facing them, way across the chamber, were the white pieces.

"Now what?"

"It's obvious, isn't it?" Draco said as he stared at the chessboard. "We've got to play our way across the room." Behind the white pieces all of them could see the door leading to probably another challenge.

"I think," Draco said as he looked at the black chessmen. "we're going to have to be chessmen." He walked up to a black knight and put his hand out to touch the knight's horse. The stone sprang to life at the blondes touch, the horse pawed at the ground while the knight turned his helmeted head to look at the blonde Slytherin. "Do we have to join you to get across?" The black knight nodded, Draco turned to the other two. "I suppose we've got to take the place of three of the black pieces. Well, Harry, you take the place of that bishop, and Raven, you next to him instead of that castle."

"What about you?"

"I'm going to be a knight,"

The chessmen seemed to have been listening, because at these words a knight, a bishop, and a castle turned their backs on the white pieces and walked off the board, leaving three empty squares that Harry, Draco and Raven took

Draco had started to direct the black pieces, they moved silently wherever he sent them. What if they lost? "Harry; move diagonally four squares to the right."

After a while, Draco seemed to think about what to do. While, the white queen turned her blank face toward him.

"I've to be taken out of the game.."

"Are you daft?" Raven said as she remembered how merciless the white chessmen had been when it came to taking theirs out.

"That's chess!" He snapped at them while they stared at him. "You've got to make sacrifices! When I'm out, Harry'll checkmate the king."

"Do you want to stop whoever is behind that door or not?"

"Look, if we don't hurry up, they'll already have the Stone by now!" There was no other way, it had to be done "Ready?" He called, his face pale but determined. He stepped forward, and the white queen pounced. She struck the blonde hard across the head with her stone arm; he fell down to the flood. Harry stared at him in despair while the white queen dragged him to one side. Shaking, Harry moved three spaces to the left. The white king took off his crown and threw it at Harry's feet. They had won. The door ahead was clear as the chessmen left the board. Harry and Raven ran through the door and up the next passageway.

They had reached another door, Harry pushed it open as he looked back at the passageway. Inside the room was a troll who had already been defeated, a lump on its head. The room was covered in the disgusting smell as they covered their nose and mouths and walking over the the next door. Raven pulled open the next door, both of them nervous on what could be next. However, there was nothing terrible in here, just a table with seven differently shaped bottles standing on it in a line.

They stepped over the threshold, and immediately a fire sprang up behind them in the doorway. It wasn't ordinary fire either; it was purple. At the same instant, black flames shot up in the doorway leading onward. They were trapped, the potions the only way out.

"Look!" Raven took a roll of paper that was lying next to the bottles. Harry looked over her shoulder to read it.

Danger lies before you, while safety lies behind,
Two of us will help you, which ever you would find,
One among us seven will let you move ahead,
Another will transport the drinker back instead,
Two among our number hold only nettle wine,
Three of us are killers, waiting bidden in line.
Choose, unless you wish to stay here forevermore,
To help you in your choice, we give you these clues four:

First, however slyly the poison tries to hide
You will always find some on nettle wine's left side;
Second, different are those who stand at either end,
But if you would move onward, neither is your friend;
Third, as you see clearly, all are different size,
Neither dwarf nor giant holds death in their insides;
Fourth, the second left and the second on the right
Are twins once you taste them, though different at first sight.

"Brilliant," Raven said as she looked back at the bottles and the paper. At his confused look she explained. "This isn't magic, it's a puzzle. A lot of the greatest wizards haven't understood logic so technically they'd be stuck in here forever."

"Everything we need is here on this paper. Seven bottles: three are poison; two are wine; one will get us safely through the black fire, and one will get us back through the purple."

"Got it," she said. "The smallest bottle will get us through the black fire, toward the Stone."

"There's only enough there for one of us," he said. "That's hardly one swallow."

"Which one will get you back through the purple flames?"

Raven pointed at a rounded bottle at the right end of the line.

"You drink that," said Harry. "There's only enough for one, you can get Draco back and you can alert someone. You drink first," He said as he looked at her determined expression. "You are sure which is which, aren't you?"

"Positive," She said as she downed the bottle, she set it down.

"Quick, go, before it wears off."

Raven turned and walked straight through the purple fire, but not before winking at him. Harry took a deep breath and picked up the smallest bottle. He turned to face the black flames. "Here I go" he said, and he drained the little bottle.

He put the bottle down and walked forward; he braced himself, saw the black flames licking his body, but couldn't feel them. For a moment he could see nothing but dark fire, then he was on the other side, in the last chamber.

There was already someone there.

Chapter Text

Professor Qurirell was standing in front of the mirror, when he noticed Harry he let out a sigh and relaxed. "Finally," he had said as soon as Harry stepped out from the flames.

"What do you mean?"

"I've been needing to talk to you Potter. That is all."

"Because, the Magical World is blind. And you need the truth, seeing as how you were blind for most of you're life."

"And what is the truth?"

"Voldemort didn't kill your parents, Potter." Harry gasped as he took in the sight of the man. "Let me explain. We don't know who did seeing as how everything on that happened that night is covered in lies. Voldemort himself doesn't remember what had happened."

"What do you mean when you say we?"

"I was an old friend of Tom Riddle's. Tom Riddle is the face behind the name of Voldemort, really Voldemort was a nickname that he came up with for school notes. Now, it's been blown out of proportion." He said as Harry sat down on one of the surrounding chairs. "That night had been one of tragedy and lies, but Tom didn't kill your parents Harry. He is currently getting treatment, seeing as how his mind was damaged during the night; most likely from unwanted magic."

"Then why does everyone say he was an Evil Tyrant?"

"You got the wrong person for evil tyrant, kid. Tom's goal was to help the Magical World, he saw Magical Children being abused and he saw some being killed. He witnessed Witches and Wizards being murdered by Muggles, he even saw Dumbledore do nothing about it. So he tried to help the world, of course someone rose to make him seem like an evil murderer but I assure you, Potter that he is not."

Harry looked down as the newfound knowledge reached his ears. "Could you give me a summary of everything that had happened about the War."

"Of course." His Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor said as he conjured a chair for himself. "Now remember, I don't know much about what happened; but I'll do my best." He warned as Harry nodded at him, "Tom rescued an abused Witch from her Muggle parents, he had took the young girl to a Magical orphanage where she would sadly be murdered by someone I don't know. Anyway, he had been filled with anger at this act and dramatically declared war. Dumbledore had fed everyone lies that he was an evil murderer, Tom has resigned himself to doing good things in secret while people dressed up as his Death Eaters and killed in his name. Somehow learning the spell of the Dark Mark, they were quickly caught as they were Half-Bloods. But, that didn't stop more from coming. Only Tom's true Death Eaters remained Loyal and never murdered an innocent soul. Then, October 31st, 1981 came and everything became hazy for him; his mind became damaged. He should be healed soon, I don't know yet.

"Now, I just came here to get the Stone since I don't want it in Dumbledore's hands. This Stone has affected lives and had ended some, if it showed the truth, it would be covered in the blood of those who have died. It shouldn't be here, in a school." He said as he picked the Stone out of his pocket. "Goodbye, Potter. I do hope you seek the truth for yourself."

Harry nodded as he left the chamber with his Professor, leaving the mirror. The image of his family still there.

Harry had gone back to the Slytherin Common Room, unharmed where his friends were on the couch. "You're safe! What happened?"

"Professor Qurirell got the stone, I let him."

"I don't know, it felt like it needed to be done." He said as they nodded, wondering what would happen when someone figures out the Stone is missing.

The day of the Feast and the winner of the House Cup, including the last day of school had Hagrid looking for Harry, "I've got yeh a present." He said as he handed it over. It seemed to be a handsome, leather-covered book. Harry opened it curiously. It was full of wizard photographs. Smiling and waving at him from every page were his mother and father. "Sent owls off ter all yer parents' old school friends, askin' fer photos... knew yeh didn' have any... d'yeh like it?" Harry couldn't speak, but Hagrid understood.

Harry made his way down to the end-of-year feast alone that night. He had been held up by Hagrid so the Great Hall was already full. It was decked out in the Slytherin colors of green and silver to celebrate Slytherin's winning the house cup for the seventh year in a row. A huge banner showing the Slytherin serpent covered the wall behind the High Table.

He slipped into a seat between Draco and Raven at the Slytherin table as they celebrated Slytherin winning for the now, seventh year in a row.

Dumbledore had arrived from London yesterday and was now here. "Another year gone!" Dumbledore said cheerfully. "And I must trouble you with an old man's wheezing waffle before we sink our teeth into our delicious feast. What a year it has been! Hopefully your heads are all a little fuller than they were... you have the whole summer ahead to get them nice and empty before next year starts...

"Now, as I understand it, the house cup here needs awarding, and the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with three hundred and twelve points; in third, Hufflepuff, with three hundred and fifty-two; Ravenclaw has four hundred and twenty-six and Slytherin, four hundred and seventy-two." A storm of cheering and stamping broke out from the Slytherin table.

"Yes, Yes, well done, Slytherin," said Dumbledore. Someone standing outside the Great Hall might well have thought some sort of explosion had taken place, so loud was the noise that erupted from the Slytherin and Hufflepuff tables.

It was the best evening of Harry's life better than Christmas.

And suddenly, their wardrobes were empty, their trunks were packed, Neville's toad was found lurking in a corner of the toilets; notes were handed out to all students, warning them not to use magic over the holidays "I always hope they'll forget to give us these," said Fred Weasley sadly. They were boarding the Hogwarts Express; talking and laughing as the countryside became greener and tidier; eating Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans as they sped past Muggle towns; pulling off their wizard robes and putting on jackets and coats; pulling into platform nine and three-quarters at King's Cross Station.

They had all left for their homes, except for Harry; who had flooed to The Leaky Cauldron. It was now his home, almost as much as Hogwarts was. He couldn't go back, and he was sure he couldn't stay at a friends house forever. He checked into Room Six for the summer, he had a home at Hogwarts and he had escaped his uncle.

He had only hoped that his aunt and cousin had too.
