Chapter 1: Notice board.
the job of this “fic” is to show you possible upcoming stories, so that i know whether you’ll actually like them or not. i will measure the success of a story by the amount of positive comments on that chapter in this fic, and will consider making it into a main story.
prompts are not all original. i will add prompts from time to time, but no schedule.
if you’re wondering, yes you can use any of these prompts yourself, if i haven't made a separate fic for them. if you still wish to make a story from an already used prompt, just mix up the prompt or take it in a different direction. i will signify a story being properly written within the chapter title. the chapter title itself will the the potential name of the story, and if being written and unfinished, it will look like this: “the shattered spirit (writing)” if finished: “the shattered spirit (finished)”. abandoned will say abandoned.
Be aware that most of these (all excluding chap. 9) are inspired by other works or prompts, of which are listed in the chapter. if you wish to make your own story with these prompts, reference both of us, not just me.
in the tags for this story, i have placed numbers. these numbers reference the chapter the previous tags are referring to. if there is no space between any numbers inside the tags, that means that all tags for that story have already been placed, and tags can't be repeated. inside the chapters, I'll place all tags appropriate, so you won't miss out on that knowledge.
not sure if i have any more rules to lay out, so here's the names of all the stories for no reason:
1. The Shattered Spirit
2. A Decrepit Pessimist
3. The Burning Phoenix of Old
4. Copycat Copycat, Who Are You!
5. No-one Likes Betrayal, Especially the Betrayer
6. Memories, Important Right?
7. Let's Start Today's Lesson, Shall We?
8. I’ll Climb by Your Side, Number 9!
9. What Ungodly Timing!
more to be added soon!
Chapter 2: The Shattered Spirit
Izuku had a good life. He went to school, had a best friend and a loving mother. That all changed when he turned 4. He was kidnapped without a trace. 10 years after the disappearance, Bakugou meets someone who may be able to help find him, even though they say he’s dead.

Bakugou held the flowers in a death grip as he walked through the gates and strait to a specific Stone. He gently placed the flowers down in front of it. "hey, stupid Deku" he said as he sat in front of the stone.
"it's your 10 year anniversary" he said, his voice anything but happy as he looked at the stone, staring at it as if it killed his parents." it's been ten years since you disappeared..."
the words written on it stung more than anything. Izuku Midoriya, a burning fire stopped too early, will always remain in our hearts. xxxx-xxxx. " Why?" he mumbled, voice barely above a whisper " Why did you have to go and get taken? Why does everyone think you dead? I know you, I know your strong, I know you still out there. I just know it" tears burned in his eyes, but he refused to let them talk.
he took a deep breath and continued talking, like he did every week, of every month, of every year since he was said to be dead. "I've been working really hard in school, Dek-Izuku. I've actually just finished my 12th book on quirk analysis. When you get back you can have them, I’ll even help you train, so we can go to U.A together, just like we promised." his broken smile fell as more tears filled his eyes.
"Please promise me you'll come back before then, please just come back. I don't care when. I just wanna see you again. I miss you so much, it hurt. I've been trying to be nice like you were-i mean are! you are nice, you're not dead. But it's so hard when all those extras don't even remember you. I just wanna explode their dumb faces" the tears he tried to hold back finally fell
"it feels like the longer you're gone the worse I feel. I don't even think I could take the entrance exam. Please, Izuku we need you just to find a way to come back. please...."
"Katsuki," Bakugou whipped around to find Inko standing there, roses in hand, looking down at him. "How long have you been here?" Bakugou looked around and realised how dark it had gotten.
Inko placed the flowers down next to his and knelt down so they could be at eye level "I know it's hard, but please, for my sake, accept that Izuku is dead. He isn't coming back" his lip trembled as the words stabbed at him as the dam broke. Inko wrapped her arms around the boy as he cried, as much as it hurt him, he needed to hear those words. If he wanted to be a hero for him, he needed to accept his death. Because Midoriya Izuku was never coming back.
Boy, she could not have been much more wrong.
Zuk Dori knew he had died. he knew that he had been 4 when he got stolen, and 10 when he finally crumbled to dust. so why could he still see, why could he still feel and hear? it seemed he was a ghost, but it made no sense! he felt like a part of him was missing, though.
2 parts. he’s missing 2 parts of himself. he’s split in 3. compassion, passion, and kindness, he’s sure. he only felt his compassionate loving side, but he despaired his kindness to someone who must’ve needed it, for it only made sense he, being the compassionate child he was, should show love to this red-and-white haired child who experienced none from his own family.
Iku Miriya knew he had died. he knew that he had been 4 when he got stolen, and 10 when he finally crumbled to dust. so why could he still see, why could he still feel and hear? it seemed he was a ghost, but it made no sense! he felt as if a part of him was missing, though.
2 parts. he’s missing 2 parts of himself. he’s split in 3. kindness, compassion, and passion, he’s sure. he only understood to be kind to people, but there was a problem. he knew Iku wasn't his full name... but what was it? he needed his passion, but understood that it probably went to someone who deserved his passion, as it seemed that he himself was tasked with giving the kindness that this innocent little girl so desperately needed, and that that man in the plague mask certainly wasn't giving. he would be kind.
Chapter 3: A Decrepit Pessimist
Izuku had a good life. He went to school, had a best friend and a loving mother. That all changed when he turned 4. He was kidnapped without a trace. 10 years after the disappearance he shows up with a powerful quirk and girlfriend.

Mikumo Akatani. That was is name. or, rather, that's what he chooses people to know him by. Only Sensei, Kurogiri, and Miryoku Hanasu know his real name. Izuku Midoriya. Just like how Tomura Shigaraki's real name is actually Tenko Shimura. The pawn thinks he's the mastermind of this situation, it's quite the funny thing, how petty he is, too. Izuku and Miryoku both have fake names, however. Miryoku's alias is Shinetsu Kaiwashita. Both Izuku Midoriya and Miryoku Hanasu have had funeral, both had families that cared for them -not that either of them knew, of course-. Mikumo and Shinetsu only have each other, and their "compound". Of course, Sensei is everything to them. He gave them meaning, after all. They'd do anything he asked... including joining the U.A.'s Hero Course as spies.
That's how the both of them found themselves in the middle of an explanation by none other than the banana-headed forever-noisy pro-hero, Present Mic. "-other U.A. examinees is a U.A. no-no, ya dig?"
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a question." A tall square-figured boy wearing a Somei Academy uniform stands up.
"Hit me!" Present Mic points to the boy, using the old time 'finger-guns' as a cheep-ass culture reference.
"On the print-out, you've listed four types of villains, not three! With all respect, if this is an error on official U.A. materials, it is shameful." he holds his right hand over his heart in the fist, while Shinetsu mimes gagging. "We expect the best from Japan's most notable school. A mistake such as this won't do! Additionally, you with the unkempt hair." the boy moves his robot arms to slice at Izuku and Shinetsu. "Stop with your quiet laughter. If you can't bother to take this seriously, leave." in spite of the boys actions, Izuku has to try harder to hold back his laughter, and Shinetsu joins him.
"Alrighty, Examinee 7-1-1-1, Thanks for calling in with your request. The fourth villain type is worth zero points! that guy's just an obstacle we'll be putting in your way. There's one in every battle centre. Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid! It's not that it can't be beaten, but there's... Kinda no point. I'd recommend my listeners try to ignore it and focus on the ones top of the charts!"
The square boy finally sits back down after stating "Thank you very much. please, continue."
"That's all I've got for you today. I'll sign off with a little present: A sample of our school motto! As General Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down; 'A true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes.'" Mic hums a little in acknowledgement. "Now, ain't that a tasty soundbite? you ready to go beyond? LET'S HEAR A PLUS ULTRA! Good luck, I hope you practiced hitting more than just books!"
Izuku went to battle Centre B, while Shinetsu went to battle Centre C. "START!" Present Mic calls out.
Izuku doesn't need to be told twice. he speeds off at his fastest, towards the main street, as that likely held the most robots. He's correct. Using his quirk, Izuku melts several droids of different levels instantly, giving him a head start of 19 (four 3-pointers, two 2-pointers, and three 1-pointers). Blue flames erupt from his right hand towards the many robots that had oh-so luckily lined up for the perfect attack, adding to his score.
After running left and right, dominating the field, he gained a total of 81 points with only one minute remaining. At this point, a deafening boom was heard throughout the battle centres. At the centre of each stands a new robot... the Zero-Pointer.
Izuku thinks oh, why the hell not and starts running towards it, unlike the rest, who start running away. Izuku holds both hands out to each side of him, letting the energy build up from the standard yellow flames to the blue-white he used earlier in the exam, and for large attacks. He launches himself off of some rubble and throws his arms out in front of him. A huge torrent of flames fling from his body, spiralling up towards the Zero-Pointer's head. the flames collide with the body, melting through the chest and erupting from the would-be scalp of the robot's head.
Turns out, there's a girl stuck under some rubble, in what would've been the path of the Zero-Pointer. Izuku decides to help her out, lifting the rubble trapping her foot. she gets up and thanks him.
"Time's up, little listeners!" Present Mic's voice rings through the Battle Centre. As Izuku and the girl -now with a name, as she introduced herself as Ochako Uraraka- start to head back, an old lady appears from seemingly nowhere. The old lady is introduced as The Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl. She heals up everyone's wounds before heading over to the other Battle Centres to do the same. Izuku and Uraraka continue to head back towards the entrance gate.
Later, -two weeks later- all three of them receive a very special letter. "WELCOME, TO YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!"
Chapter 4: The Burning Phoenix of Old
You all know about One For All and All For One. Two powerful quirks, forever entangled, forever fighting, forever changing hands. What you don't know, is that many quirks change hands, many quirks are rivals, and many quirks are passed on. The rivalry between Izuku Midoriya's Reincarnating Phoenix quirk and the powerful Water Basilisk Quirk are one in the same.

Izuku was minding his business, playing with Kacchan, like normal, only a few months before his fourth birthday. Kacchan had already gotten his quirk, he called it Explosion! Izuku really liked that name. While they were walking through the forest, Izuku was dordling at the back of the group, when flames erupted from his hands. unlike with Kacchan -who's quirk came slowly, starting off with tiny sparks, developing into firecracker booms, to eventually get something worthy of the name 'Explosion' later on in life- Izuku's quirk started off at full strength.
Flames of all shades reverberated off of every sector of skin on Izuku. Azure blue, ruby red, sunshine gold, lime green, blinding white. "hello young Izuku. glad to finally have contact with you" a voice reverberated through Izuku's skull, much to his displeasure. The voice gave Izuku quite the headache. "let's get these flames off of you, and explain ourselves." instantly, the flames died down. none of Izuku's friend's were hurt, thankfully, so he wasn't too worried. Unknown to Izuku at the time, his Emerald Green eyes had a splash of colour added to them. The viridian Green iris was corrupted by azure, ruby, golden, and white streaks, seemingly moving through his eyes like some sort of optical illusion. (I'm not sorry for the pun there) Izuku was quickly ushered home by Kacchan, who was glad to have someone who could actually compare to his great power.
Izuku's quirk was later registered as Pyrokinesis, as the doctors lacked any creativity. The Voice, an also uncreative name although self descriptive, had told Izuku not to tell anyone about it, so he didn't. The Voice, as it turns out, was multiple voices. 4 different voices, collectively. They introduced themselves as Konpeki Seishin, Shinku Nokoribi, Kogane Moeruyouna, and Moumoku Hikari. They told Izuku the truth. Not all the truth, but what he needed to know at the time. From there, Izuku trained and he trained hard. Years went by, and Izuku became better and better at quirk control, stronger, better at martial arts, better at any and every subject in school, everything.
Unfortunately, Kacchan... Kacchan only got angry. He said that he was better than Izuku, even when Izuku beat him, he pushed Izuku around and called him weak and useless, a Deku, when he beat Izuku. One day, after Izuku was reading a very special magazine. -Most people would consider these magazines cheep, useless, pointless. those people are just readers. It's the readers that take advantage of it. This magazine has a code, one that was made by Shinku himself. This code gave new patrol times for many heroes, stats, quirk limitations, police projects, etc. anything that any vigilante would kill to learn of.- Kacchan came up to him and took his notebook. Earlier that day, the teacher told the rest of the class who was signing up for where. Everyone was supportive towards both Izuku and Kacchan about wanting to get into UA, saying that they'd be among the few people capable. Kacchan was less supportive towards Izuku.
"I don't know what you think you're doin', Deku, but if you even think of applying your scrawny ass to UA, I'll kill you!" Kacchan grabs both sides of the notebook, and blows it up with a tiny firecracker explosion before throwing it out the window. "your useless ass can't even stop me from grabbing your notebook, so why don't you just take a swan-dive off of the roof of the building! maybe in your next life you'll learn your place!" He walks out without another word.
Izuku roles his eyes and gets up, grabbing his bag and utensils before heading down to where the notebook would've landed.
Izuku us walking through a tunnel when a low sludgy noise surrounds him. he turns around to find a wall of sewer. "well, that's just great" someone in The Voice oh so helpfully points out. Next thing Izuku knows, he's being suffocated. He activates his quirk, sending a spout of flames out of him. unfortunately, that only worsens the situation. instead of the sludge villain backing off, the fire only served to dry out the liquid into a stone state momentarily. Izuku tries for his next best thing... uselessly grabbing at the slime suffocating him. "kid, you better not die on us. we've barely done anything. we haven't even gotten to UA yet! come on! Get yourself out! You can do it! You can... you can't do i-"
"NEVER FEAR, YOU ARE SAFE. NOW THAT I'M HERE THAT IS!" A new, but oh so recognisable voice rebounds through the underpass. "TEXAS SMASH!"
Izuku wakes up to find a blinding smile peering down at him, with a large but gentle hand tapping his cheek repetitively. "well... fuck"
Chapter 5: Copycat, Copycat, Who Are YOU!
Izuku Midoriya went missing at age 10. Less than 7 years later, Villain Mask came to power. He was a nuisance for U.A.'s Heroics Course Class A since their first year. Mask's real name was known since his very debut; Izuku Midoriya... or so it was thought.

Katsuki Bakugou liked to think that he was a good hero. He had a powerful quirk, he was independent, and he always won... at least, that's what he wishes. There were many times that he never won. An example would be at the USJ incident, when one of his classmates: Minoru Mineta was killed ruthlessly by a villain, but not just any villain. This was the debut of the villain known as Mask, and was Katsuki's childhood "friend", Izuku Midoriya. This is what everyone believed at the time. But, there they were; at the second year summer camp. 40 students and 6 Pro-Heroes standing against some of the worlds most powerful villains: Tomura Shigaraki, Kurogiri, Mr. Compress, Spinner, Twice, Himiko Toga, Dabi, Muscular, Moonfish, and Mask. Otherwise known as Izuku Midoriya. These villains were also accompanied by 4 Nomus. 2 High-End, and 2 USJ strength standards.
"Deku! why are you doing this! Don't you realise what you're doing to your own mother!" Katsuki screamed at Izuku. He just giggled in response.
"You really still think that don't you? Gods, you are hilarious!" He finally teased.
"YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YO-"
"Bakugou, restrain yourself. I don't want another child death on my hands." Aizawa-Sensei was quick to hold Katsuki down, preventing him from jumping out at Mask and getting himself killed by the 2 Nomu standing to each side.
"Should I tell them? I think it's time. It would break their little hearts after all." Mask asked Shigaraki.
"sure, this'll be fun to watch, either way." Shigaraki leaned on one foot, crossed his arms and smirked.
"YAY! Ok, so. Kacchan! I'm sure you remember little old me. well, you remember Izuku Midoriya at least." Mask wriggled his eyebrows. "what you failed to notice... don't you remember what you said to him on the day he went missing? Probably not. Here, I'll say it for you." a fake cough. "'If you really want to be a hero that bad, why don't you just pray you get a quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of the building!'" He does a perfect imitation of Katsuki's voice, and if Katsuki had paid close enough attention to that day, he would realise it's exactly how he sounded. "You know, he was already on the roof when I took him. It wouldn't have made too much of a difference, well, besides the obvious." Mask went on. "Now, I would bet that you're pretty confused, so let me clear it up for you." Masks voice changed to a horrid sound, almost like gravel grinding in a smoothie mixer, as he grabbed at his own skin and tore off his face, dead eyes, green hair, and all. "little Izuku Midoriya has been dead since he was 10. He died the day he went missing. I shot him through the head. Since then, I, Face, Adopted his memories, his face, his personality, and anything else that had once belonged to little Izuku."
At this, Katsuki collapsed. Dek-Izuku was dead. His friend, the person that had fully and wholly believed in him since he was 4... was dead. For the past 7 years, no less. Everything whitened around him. He stopped reacting, so he didn't hear Tomura Shigaraki scream for them to attack. He didn't feel his teacher picking him up, carrying him like a potato sack and running as fast as he could. He didn't see half of his classmates get torn to pieces by the 4 Nomus. He didn't see Vlad King's head being torn off his shoulders. He didn't see the massive Ice-wall that Todoroki built to protect who was left.
He didn't see.
Katsuki woke up to a hospital room, filled with only 13 other people. 2 of which were nurses. 1 who was his teacher. the other 11, people from both class A and B. that meant only 12 students in the Hero Course were left. Todoroki, Tsu, Tetsutetsu, Yaoyorozu, Shinsou, Hagakure, Jirou, Kaminari, Yanagi, Kendo, and Kuroiro. That meant, including him, there were only 7 people left from class A, and 5 people from class B. The rest... were dead. Aoyama, Ashido, Iida, Uraraka, Ojiro, Kirishima, Koda, Sato, Shoji, Sero, and Tokoyami from class A and Awase, Kaibara, Kamakiri, Kodai, Komori, Shiozaki, Shishida, Shoda, Tsunotori, Tsuburaba, Tokage, Fukidashi, Honenuki, Bondo, Monoma, and Rin from class B. 38 deaths. All of them... Katsuki's fault.
Why can't he do anything fucking good for once!
Chapter 6: No-one Likes Betrayal, Especially the Betrayer
Murder has always been a bad thing, but what happens when it's the only way to escape, and you have to kill one of your friends to do so? Izuku Midoriya has 24 hours to kill a classmate of his predetermined choosing, unless he wants to die, himself. Of course, he's not the only thing killing people.

Izuku Midoriya had a good day. His class watched a movie that afternoon, they had a dinner made by the surprisingly good cook named Katsuki Bakugou, and he went to bed snuggling against his boyfriend of 2 months, Shouto Todoroki. So he's less than happy to wake up in a dark room with a stranger. He tries to activate full cowling, but it doesn't work. "I'm afraid quirks aren't allowed in this game, young one. That quirk suppressing necklace-choker took a lot of effort to make comfortable and effective, so I'd appreciate your full attention." The silhouette states. Izuku, after feeling his very thin quirk-suppressing collar, decides to comply, for now. "Good. Now, you're probably wondering where you are and why you are here, am I correct?" Izuku quickly and sharply nods, not taking his eyes off the villain. "I'm running an experiment. As you can see on the screens behind me, there are all of your classmates, along with Class 2-B and additional student; Mei Hatsume, unconscious, inside the school -which is in lock down, by the way. I only added her to make it more interesting, so don't bother looking too closely into it!
AND NOW, A CHOICE! I am giving you a special deal! Choose a person, right here, right now, to kill within 24 hours, and I'll let you leave the school! You can kill other class members if you wish to do so. Fail to kill this person, and that will result in your own death. You will die a reasonably slow death by poison that'll be injected through that necklace. If that happens, I'll take your target and make him the new champion to kill someone else, and the cycle will continue until everyone's left the school! I also have some very satisfying traps set throughout the school, in which i will activate at my own pleasure. I will ensure that both you and your target cannot be directly affected by any of these traps! Doesn't this sound great!"
Izuku, in-fact, did not think this was great. If he had to murder someone, he would gladly give his own life, so he'll choose someone he wants to keep safe, and then just not kill them. "I choose Shouchan. give me 24 hours to kill him."
"Very well! Remember that if you die by not killing him, he'll be the person that takes your place as champion! Any re-considerations to make?" The silhouette's voice gives away a smirk.
"ok... I'll choose... Aoyama. I'm assuming that everyone has quirk suppressing collars?" Izuku asks.
"CORRECTOMONDO KIDDO! GOOD LUCK! There will be weapons throughout the school for you to use! Enjoy the experience! Also, if you in some way accidentally kill your target, that will still count as your kill, and you'll be considered safe. The next time you're alone from there, I'll collect you and let you out!" The Silhouette walks up to Izuku, and knocks him on the head, rendering him unconscious.
Izuku wakes up in a hallway, near the cafeteria. If he remembers correctly, this is also where Kaminari, Koda, and Tsu all are. "hello! anyone?" He calls out towards the cafeteria as he jogs towards the doorway. He passes through and finds Kaminari rubbing his head nearby, and Tsu over the other end doing the same. He looks over to the kitchen and finds Koda standing there confused. Izuku realises that he needs to make a choice. Tell them about his meeting with the villain, or keep it a secret. No, worry about that later. First, get everyone together. "Kaminari, Tsu, Koda; you guys all good?"
"yeah, we just woke up. got a killer headache, though..."
"I'm pretty fine, I have a small migraine, though. ribbit."
"yeah, I'm ok."
"Ok, let's go find everyone else, then we can figure out what's going on." Izuku suggests. The four head towards their own classroom, where Yaoyorozu was placed, as Izuku remembers. They open it to find, not only Yaoyorozu, but also Jirou and Hagakure. The two appear to have only just arrived at the classroom themselves.
"do you guys know whats going on? I woke up with a heavy headache and have no idea why we're back inside the school..." while Jirou asks the group, Izuku swallows his guilt over knowledge.
"Let's just find everyone first, then we can ask why." Thankfully, the three comply and join the group of now seven.
Running through the halls they nearly collide strait with another group containing Iida, Kacchan, Shouchan, Tokoyami, Uraraka, and none-other than Aoyama. Izuku barely manages to keep himself from paling. hopefully, Shouto didn't notice. "find everyone first, then questions?" Iida asks quickly, having the same mindset.
"Yep" Everyone in Izuku's group says sharply, before merging the two groups into a group of 13 looking for anyone and everyone else. The next sight they find is less than pleasing. spikes looking to have ruptured from the roof and flooring, covered in blood and flesh, with the barely recognisable remains of one Rikido Sato splayed throughout.
This just got a whole lot more real.
Chapter 7: Memories, Important Right?
Izuku Midoriya's adopted brother, Tenko Shimura, turns out to be more than he seemed. Izuku is taken, then forgets himself. Tenko and Sensei use him as an emotional weapon against the heroes.
Inspired by a Hollow_Fan_Soul_55 snippet/prompt.

Izuku Midoriya had always enjoyed the idea of heroes. He often played with his older brother, Tenko, even though Izuku noticed he didn't enjoy it. Now, Izuku is in the hero course. All Might gave Izuku a chance by passing on his powerful quirk! A few days have already passed since the beginning of the year, and he's already made quite a few friends, especially after the battle trials! Izuku's closest friends would have to be Uraraka and Iida, though. Today, class 1-A is going on an excursion to someplace unknown. Aizawa-Sensei won't tell anyone. On the way there, Kirishima and Tsu -along with a few others- have a conversation on the flashiness of their quirks.
As everyone is hopping of the bus, Izuku notices the Space Hero: 13! Uraraka goes on a muttering rant that rivals even Izuku's own rants in both length and enthusiasm. 13 goes on to explain what they're doing and where they are, along with a few rules. The USJ, as it turns out, is a disaster simulation centre. As 13 wraps up their speech, the lights throughout the USJ start to flicker along with the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Suddenly, a very recognisable purple mist appears in front of the fountain. Izuku starts wondering why their family friend, Kurogiri, is here at the USJ. A hand appears through the portal and someone starts climbing out. Someone recognisable as... Tenko. All around Tenko, a bunch of small time but recognisable villains stand. "Tenko?"
"Izuku... what? shit." Tenko swears under his breath. "What are you doing here! Kurogiri, get him here now. shit" Kurogiri appears behind Class 1-A as they begin retreating.
Iida pulls back Izuku by the shoulder, but he doesn't react. Why? Why is Tenko here? Why is he with villains? "what the hell are you doing here!? Tenko!" Izuku yells. He fails to notice Kurogiri teleporting his friends away. He barely reacts to Kurogiri teleporting him to beside Tenko.
"Kurogiri, we gotta get out of here, now. I don't care about this fodder. Get the Nomu and let's go." Tenko orders. Kurogiri bursts into a large purple mass once more, only swallowing Tenko, the weird brain villain, Izuku, and himself. Izuku doesn't hear Aizawa-Sensei screaming in rage. Nor the rest of class 1-A in fear. Because he's not there. He's in a bar. Wait, no. He's in a dark room filled with machinery.
Then, a hand latches onto his head.
"Well, All Might. I see you've chosen my son without consulting his parents first. Let's see how you deal with this turn of events."
Izuku wakes up in his room. The one he's lived in for the past 12 years. It's a standard hotel-esque room attached to a bar. This is the bar that his father owns, as far as he can remember. Or did Kurogiri own the bar? god, my head hurts. Izuku heads downstairs to find Kurogiri manning the bar, and Tenko -as always- playing a video game. "Hey Tenko! Kurogiri, do you have any painkillers or something? My head really hurts. Oh also, do you know what my results were for the entrance exam to U.A.? The letter should've come in by now!"
"uh... The results wouldn't allow someone without a quirk. sorry, Izuku." Tenko relays, remembering what Sensei told him.
"oh." Izuku tears up, but holds the depressive energy inside, giving a fake watery smile. "I guess Kacchan was right..."
"oh, um. By the way... Father... he's back. He wanted to meet you." Tenko continues on his script.
"Dad's back?! Now?! He'll be so disappointed..." Izuku replies.
"Trust me, Izuku. Sensei will not be disappointed in you." Kurogiri cuts in, trying to persuade him.
"Ok, at least I'll be meeting dad, finally." Izuku does a small self-deprecating laugh.
"What happened to you? you're all covered in tubes? your face..." Izuku gasps in disgust and fear.
"This was the causation of All Might."
"All Might did this? Why would he hurt you? He can't have..."
"I'm sorry Izuku. Heroes aren't as they seem. Let me explain..."
A few days later, and Izuku despises heroes. He used to love them, but now... he knows the truth. How they hurt people, people like his own father. People who just want to live their lives in peace, but are brutalised and attacked, even killed, because of their quirk. Then, the strangest thing happens. Izuku is minding his own business, punching a bag in the gym, when his quirk activates. One second, the punching bag is hanging from the roof. The next, it's embedded into the concrete wall. The wall itself has a massive impact crater. "HOLY SHIT I'VE GOT A QUIRK!" Izuku screams at the top of his lungs, despite the very injured right arm of his. Unknown to him, Sensei, Tenko and Kurogiri only smirk at this supposed new find. Izuku is applauded by them, given drinks and gifts galore. "Now, to take back those heroes for the shit they've done to us. Calling the quirkless useless, and killing people like you for your quirk. This'll be fun." Izuku giggles in a less than what professionals would call sane way.
"Good luck, heroes!"
