The first time Hoseok had met Jimin was on a hot summer day in mid-July. The blazing weather and the burning sun had everyone scrambling to be inside with the air conditioner and not even the biggest summer lovers wanted to be caught in the heat. It was the hottest week of summer Seoul had seen in a while.
Hoseok was admiring the view of the city from his apartment window when he noticed a beautiful man with the most heavenly face. He had blonde hair that stuck to his face with sweat, sweet almond brown eyes that reminded Hoseok of a comfortable warmth, (unlike the current weather) and sinful plump lips that made the alpha in Hoseok want to growl. He was perfect.
And after staring for so long, he was able to notice the strain as he struggled to lift what looked like moving boxes from a rather ratty car. The poor man would walk toward the building with a box, disappear for about seven minutes (he so wasn’t counting) and return for another round. Hoseok had desperately looked around for another person who might have been helping him but no one showed up. He felt a strong wave of guilt and empathy wash over him. The man was clearly having a hard time all by himself and with the sun growing ever stronger, he knew he had to help before the man passed out. So he rushed to put on some shoes and hurried out the apartment building to see the man.
Said man was grabbing a bigger box than he had ever seen when Hoseok approached him. The man looked up in surprise when he noticed and immediately dropped the box, which landed with a loud crash as something most likely made of glass shattered.
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you. I noticed from my window that no one was helping and I was hoping to offer some assistance but it seems like I just made it worse. I apologize,” Hoseok rambled. The man, who didn’t seem upset at his values breaking, smiled widely. His eyes turned into slits as he did so and Hoseok immediately wanted to coo (which is not a very alpha thing to do at all).
“Oh, it’s alright. It was just a lamp I was planning on getting rid of anyways. It’s very nice of you to offer, but you don’t have to do that. I only have a few more boxes,” the man explained. Hoseok’s shoulders deflated at the news. He really felt bad for him and even if the lamp wasn’t anything special, he still wanted to make it up to him. The man seemed to notice this and giggled cutely.
“I mean, if it’s not to much to ask, maybe you can help me?” The man offered. Hoseok immediately perked up and nodded in agreement.
“I’m Jung Hoseok, twenty-six, dancer and writer extraordinaire,” Hoseok introduced himself with the brightest smile he could manage. The man laughed again.
“I’m Park Jimin, twenty-five, and I’m also a dancer.”
“Wow, we have so much in common already!”
Jimin nodded in response and ducked down to pick up the box with the broken lamp, his scent drifted over to him and he smelled like apples and lilac flowers. Just when Hoseok thought the man couldn’t get anymore perfect, he realized Jimin was also an omega with the most amazing scent. Of course that didn’t mean he was available and Hoseok never wanted to be that alpha that forced omegas to do anything. His mother taught him how to be a good and respectful alpha.
Never hurt omegas. Never make them do anything they don’t want to. If you find a stranger in heat surrounded by alphas, you take them someplace safe and leave him alone. Omegas are their own person and they deserve the same freedoms as alphas and betas.
Although Hoseok has never actually had his own omega to love, kiss, and watch movies with, he has helped many omegas in heat along the way. That was how he met one of his closest friends, Yoongi. He was walking home late from a rigorous dance practice when he noticed a group of alphas crowding someone. Even from a distance, he could smell the signature heat scent of an omega and immediately put up his guard. There was no way that group belonged to the omega and when he heard a snarl, he knew he was right. He had rushed up to the group, which happened to be three alphas, and demanded they back off before he called the cops. The alphas hadn’t seemed like they wanted much trouble as they growled and walked away. Just a bunch of pigheads who believed every omega in heat wanted them.
He had knelt down to come face-to-face with the omega and politely offered his last water bottle stowed away in his backpack. The omega thanked him with a gruff voice and introduced himself as Min Yoongi, who was already in a happy relationship with another alpha, Kim Seokjin. Hoseok had offered to stay with him until said alpha arrived and Yoongi was grateful. They became best friends and even Seokjin, who turned out to be the coolest alpha Hoseok had ever met, became close with him too.
Hoseok grabbed a box quickly before following Jimin as he began to walk away. They walked up four flights before they stopped in front of Jimin’s room... which happened to reside right in front of Hoseok’s.
“I guess we’re neighbors,” Hoseok announced gleefully. Jimin tilted his head in confusion before Hoseok jerked his head towards his own door. Jimin smiled and unlocked pushed open his door to set the box down, Hoseok following after.
His apartment had the same layout as Hoseok’s. A kitchen off to the left, a living room on the right and a hallway that led to what looked like two bedrooms. It was spacious enough to allow room and it was cheap enough for the broke college student that they both most likely were. It was a nice home to have.
Jimin smiled before leading the way back outside and Hoseok’s heart fluttered in response. He could definitely get used to this.
Hoseok didn’t see Jimin for two months after that and he and his alpha were very disappointed. The omega just seemed so soft and kind and Hoseok was desperate to be close to him. He woke up plenty of times during the night after dreaming of blonde hair and puffy cheeks that belonged to his angel. Even though he would never admit it out loud, those days mostly left him rubbing himself and whispering Jimin’s name when he came. It was embarrassing yes, but it helped Hoseok to keep his alpha from seeking Jimin and doing something he would most likely regret.
Jimin was killing him.
But it was two months later that Hoseok finally ran into the sweet omega. He had woke up late and was certainly on his way to missing his dance class when he left his apartment only to find a crying Jimin in front of his door.
“Jimin-ah,” Hoseok stopped in his tracks. Fuck dance class, his angel was crying. Said angel lifted his head and wiped his face with the back of his hand in embarrassment.
“Hello, Hoseok hyung,” Jimin sniffled. Hoseok dropped his bag and carefully knelt down so he was face-to-face with Jimin. When he got closer was when the scent hit him. It wasn’t just apples and lilac, this time he could sense a very slight, milky undertone.
Jimin was pregnant.
Hoseok’s alpha withered in heartbreak at the notion. His sweet omega... not his? Hoseok wanted to cry right then and there but he kept strong. He could stay strong until he was behind closed doors again. Then he would watch Titanic and eat an entire tub of ice cream so he could scream and cry at the TV. Yes, alphas did that too.
“I’m sorry for bothering you, Hoseok hyung.”
Hoseok shook himself to reality before he registered Jimin’s words.
“Bother? You’re no bother,” Hoseok offered gently. He was shocked when he suddenly had a lap full of crying omega, who stuffed his face in Hoseok’s neck, nose to his scent glands.
“Do you mean that?” Jimin sobbed. Hoseok stuttered momentarily, trying to make sense of the situation. A lot was going on in just this second alone and Hoseok had no idea what to do. Jimin was pregnant, Jimin was crying, Jimin was also currently sniffing his neck like it was the only good scent in the world and what Hoseok wouldn’t do to be able to stay like that forever. But Jimin was crying, and he had to get to the bottom of it.
Seeing as there wasn’t much he could really do, Hoseok buried his nose in Jimin’s hair, breathing in the new scent. He had to admit it was the most lovely scent he could have ever come across, but his alpha couldn’t help but wish that milky scent was of his doing. And it wasn’t.
“I mean it,” Hoseok finally whispered back. His words seemed to be exactly what Jimin needed as the pregnant omega relaxed in his arms and willed himself to relax his stuttered breathing. Hoseok kept his nose to Jimin’s hair as Jimin kept his to Hoseok’s neck. The two stayed like that for a while, Hoseok knowing perfectly well that he would be extremely late to his dance class and even if Jimin wasn’t his omega to soothe, he couldn’t fight his alpha or his heart on this one.
About fifteen minutes passed before Hoseok felt Jimin’s body fully collapse and he hitched him up into his arms and reopened the door to his apartment. He shut it behind himself with one foot before moving into the living room and gently lowering him to the couch. He grabbed the blanket from its spot on top of the couch and tucked it around Jimin, who snuggled into it graciously, tired eyes thanking him when his mouth couldn’t. Hoseok walked into his kitchen to grab a glass of water before heading back to hand it over to Jimin. The omega reached for the glass, downing the water in ten seconds before gasping in relief and wiping some droplets from his chin. Hoseok chuckled a little and set the glass aside. He sat at the end of the couch, placing Jimin’s socked feet into his lap and rubbing them with expert fingers. His years of training in dance also gave him knowledge in the massage field and Hoseok knew he was more than amazing with his fingers.
Jimin threw his head back into the pillow cushion below his head and let out a rather sexy moan. If Jimin hadn’t been crying just ten minutes previously and he was single, Hoseok would have relished it. But, as life would have it, that is not the situation and Hoseok would have to get over it.
“Is it alright if I ask why you were crying?” Hoseok asks carefully, not wanted to upset Jimin anymore than he already was. The omega’s eyes fluttered open and he softly smiled at him as if he was grateful to be rid of his secret.
“I’m pregnant,” Jimin offered. His eyes were carefully searching Hoseok’s face for a reaction but all he got was a light laugh.
“I know,” Hoseok replied. “I can smell the milky undertone.”
Jimin shifted uncomfortably and for a second, Hoseok thought he may have crossed a line and said something offensive when the omega opened his mouth to speak again.
“The father is... abusive,” Jimin announces. Hoseok stopped massaging his feet in surprise.
“A-abusive?” Hoseok stuttered out. Jimin, clearly sensing Hoseok’s discomfort, tried to pull his feet away. Hoseok wasn’t having it and gently placed them back in his lap to resume his massage. He continued carefully, worried he might anger him.
“Abusive how?” Hoseok questioned as he soothed his hands over Jimin’s heel in a comforting gesture. Jimin once again relaxed into the sofa and thankfully allowed Hoseok to continue.
“Physically. He drank a lot and when he’s drunk, he’s violent. He hit me a lot towards the end of our relationship.” Jimin smiled sadly before continuing, “He wasn’t always that way. When we met, he was the sweetest guy. He brought me flowers for no reason except to spoil me and he encouraged my dancing aspiration. In the beginning, at least, and then he started coming home drunk. He claimed I was cheating on him because I was always out late at the studio. He beat me unconscious once and that’s when I decided he wasn’t stable enough to be in a relationship. When I broke up with him, he threatened to kill me if he ever found me again. I packed up my things that night and moved here. Sometimes I feel paranoid that he knows where I am. Now that I know I’m pregnant, I’m worried he’ll kill me and my baby.” Jimin was crying by this point again and Hoseok ditched his feet in favor of cuddling the omega close, releasing a cloud of pheromones to wrap around them like a protective blanket.
“I’m sorry,” Hoseok offered when it was silent once again. “You made the right choice, many people find it extremely difficult to leave an abusive relationship. You’re so strong, Jiminie. But if you ever need help, I’m always here. I’ll protect you and your baby, if you want me to.”
Jimin sniffled and glanced up at him, hope in his beautiful brown eyes.
“You would do that for me?”
Hoseok squeezed the omega in affirmation, “Of course.” And Jimin was suddenly kissing all over his face, pressing words of thanks with each one. Hoseok smiled and returned each one.
“I’m so glad to have met you, Hobi hyung.”
Jimin finally got around to scheduling an appointment with his doctor after Hoseok informed him of all the dangers of not getting prenatal care or checking the baby to see if anything goes wrong. Jimin had been nervous and with a shaky voice, picked up his phone and called his doctor. His doctor had been surprised when he found out Jimin was already three months pregnant and scheduled him in for an earlier date in order to make sure he and the baby were alright. When the day had approached, Jimin had knocked on Hoseok’s door and shyly asked if he would be willing to accompany him to his first appointment as he was extremely anxious to be alone. Needless to say, Hoseok had felt more than appreciated that Jimin wanted his company and wholeheartedly agreed.
On the day of the appointment, Hoseok let himself into Jimin’s apartment (he had long since been given a key and vice versa). He wanders into Jimin’s room after he didn’t find him in the kitchen or living room and saw a big bundle underneath the covers. He chuckled at the adorable sight and collapsed on the bed next to him.
“Come on, Jiminie. It’s time to get up.” After a few moments of silence with no response from him, he pulled the covers off only to be met with a swollen-eyed Jimin. His alpha instincts immediately kicked in and he carefully checked the omega for any injuries before realizing he must be upset emotionally. He cupped Jimin’s cheek in his hand and stared into his eyes.
“Are you nervous? Is that why you are crying?” Jimin nodded his head, turning his face into Hoseok’s palm.
“It’s okay, baby.” The nickname left his mouth with ease. “I know it’s scary and I’ll be with you the whole time. We’ll get smoothies after, hmm? Or maybe some shaved ice? I know how much my Jiminie loves his shaved ice.”
“Tiger’s Blood?” Jimin asked.
“Any flavor you want,” Hoseok promised.
“I like Tiger’s Blood.”
“I know, baby.”
And with the promise of shaved ice, Hoseok was able to get Jimin into the shower and feed him breakfast before the two were off to the doctor’s office. Jimin clutched his hand the entire drive, forcing himself to keep his breathing steady at Hoseok’s command. When his name was called at the office, Jimin shakily rose to his feet, Hoseok assisting him into the room the nurse led them into.
“The doctor will be with you in a moment. Change into the gown in the bathroom and then take a seat on the table, sir.” The nurse smiled warmly and left. Jimin’s bottom lip wobbled and Hoseok was quick to wrap him in a hug.
“It’s okay. It will be fifteen minutes at most and then you’re done, okay?” Jimin nodded, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. “Come on, I’ll help you change.” And Hoseok led Jimin into the bathroom where a blue hospital gown sat folded on a chair in the corner. Jimin removed his clothes until he was left in his boxers and Hoseok tried to stop himself from admiring the tiny sliver of a bump in Jimin’s stomach. He helped Jimin into the gown and made sure to tie it perfectly so as to provide him with a little modesty to make the omega feel better. They left the bathroom then and Hoseok helped him up onto the table, bringing a chair to the table so they could keep their fingers interlocked.
The doctor entered the room about five minutes later. A man who was probably the same age as them introduced himself as Kim Namjoon and when he looked up to meet Jimin’s gaze, a flash of recognition shone in his eyes.
“Ah, I know your chart says Park Jimin but I didn’t think it would be the same Park Jimin as the one who dances with my boyfriend,” Namjoon supplied. Jimin smiled as he, too, recognized Namjoon.
“Jungkook’s boyfriend, right? I swear he can memorize any dance in a minute. He’s so talented.” Namjoon nodded his head in agreement. He sat down in another chair and looked over Jimin’s chart before asking him a few mandatory questions. Previous pregnancies, family history, smoking, traveling to places with Malaria and things like that. Hoseok was happy to note that Jimin looked much more comfortable after realizing his doctor was someone he knew a little bit about.
Namjoon then moved on to checking Jimin’s blood pressure, weight and height. It seemed like all hell would break loose when he announced he needed to perform a pelvic exam. Jimin tensed and his fingers tightened impossibly around Hoseok’s.
“A what?” Jimin panicked. Namjoon frowned sympathetically.
“A pelvic exam. Your chart says you’ve never had one and as an omega it is absolutely essential that you receive one. And because you are pregnant, we have to make sure everything is functioning the way it should,” Namjoon explained.
Jimin turns to Hoseok, shaking violently. Hoseok was horrified to see the blood rush from his face.
“Hobi, I can’t do this.” Jimin’s hands clasped around his as he shook his head. He whimpered as Hoseok placed his hand underneath his chin. He smiled comfortingly as the omega continued to shake.
“You can. You’re strong, Jiminie. You have to do this. If not for you then for your baby. You want him or her to live a good life, right?”
Jimin nodded his head.
“You want to raise him or her, right?”
“You want to be able to watch them grow up and make some mistakes, right? You want to be able to comfort them when they have a bad day, right? You want to be able to see them live their own life and have kids, right?”
Jimin nodded once again.
“Of course you do. Because I know Park Jimin and he would do anything to make sure someone can live a safe and healthy life. This is no different, baby. You got this,” Hoseok encouraged. Jimin nodded, kissing Hoseok’s cheek as thanks before turning back to Namjoon and giving his consent.
Namjoon was gentle as he proceeded with the exam, always making sure that Jimin was okay and not experiencing any pain. Jimin was grateful for Hoseok as he knew he definitely wouldn’t have gone through with it if it wasn’t for him.
When the exam was over and they were sent on their way, Hoseok stopped by a stand to buy Jimin his Tiger’s Blood shaved ice as a reward. The sun was bright as it rained down extreme heat and happiness. Jimin smiled until his eyes practically disappeared and Hoseok couldn’t help himself as he kissed Jimin’s eyelids.
“You just have the cutest smile,” Hoseok supplied when Jimin tilted his head in confusion. He was surprised when he felt Jimin’s lips on his and the slight taste of strawberry and coconut invaded his mouth. Hoseok closed his eyes and kissed back just as hard, enjoying the sweet sighs that left the omega’s mouth.
“You just have the cutest everything,” Jimin retorted with a wink and continued to enjoy his shaved ice. Hoseok felt a wave of euphoria wash over him as wrapped an arm around him, pulling him close as they walked back to the car.
Everything was perfect.
Until it wasn’t.
Jimin was seven months pregnant now and absolutely swollen. Now that Hoseok could call Jimin his, he was more than happy to drop praises on his stomach. When Hoseok wasn’t at dance, he had his hands on Jimin’s belly.
Jimin had been going to his doctor’s appointments without fuss but Hoseok always insisted he buy a shaved ice as a reward. When the seasons turned colder and the sun wasn’t as strong, he bought hot chocolates instead and Jimin was just as content with that.
Jimin had enlisted the help of Hoseok when he had wanted to start decorating the baby’s nursery. Hoseok was giddy and had taken the opportunity to ask what gender the baby was going to be. Jimin wrapped his arms around Hoseok’s neck and kissed a line up to his ear, biting on the lobe and teasing Hoseok to no end. Jimin finally pulled away after leaving a very noticeable mark and answered his question.
“I want to keep it a surprise for you.” And with that, Jimin sauntered away as best as he could with his swollen stomach. Hoseok chuckled and followed him into the nursery. The walls were painted a pastel blue and Hoseok grinned mischievously.
Jimin laughed and lightly slapped Hoseok’s chest. “You’ll see, you impatient alpha.”
“It’s definitely a boy. You’re so obvious, Park Jimin.”
And while the two should have been decorating, they ended up spending the day teasing each other and exchanging breathless kisses. In that moment, they were happy. They were happy as Jimin kissed him goodnight at ten o’clock and watched Hoseok walk across the hall and shut the door to his room. Jimin would carelessly forget to lock the door as his mind was on Hoseok and the baby, and he would regret it.
It would be his biggest mistake.
At half past ten, Jimin’s front door would open to reveal a man who meant him harm. A man Jimin had left behind in order to protect himself and the baby. A man who carried a large knife to end Jimin and his child. A man that was his ex-boyfriend.
At a quarter until eleven, multiple crashes and screams were heard throughout the apartment. People were waking up to investigate and one alpha was rushing to the door of Jimin’s apartment. He would make his way into the living room where the man was perched, waiting for him. He would attack but a small, pregnant omega would grab him by the foot and pull him down. The alpha held him down until the police could arrive.
At eleven o’clock, Jimin would begin to bleed out on the carpet as his body succumbed to his wounds. He would finally black out as his body rushed to save him. It was inevitable. At eleven o’clock, Hoseok would scream in agony as the police and paramedics finally arrived.
Jimin woke with a start as memories of a violent night flashed before his eyes.
Hoseok. His baby.
Jimin’s hands found his stomach and he immediately released a scream. A man in the corner of the room rushed to his side, cupping his face as he did. Hoseok.
“Jimin? Does something hurt? I’ll call a nurse.” Hoseok moved to reach for the remote to summon a nurse when Jimin shook his head and kissed him desperately.
“You’re okay! Our baby is okay!” Jimin sobbed in relief as he continued to press kisses onto Hoseok’s lips. Hoseok relaxed once he realized nothing was gone and returned the kisses gently. He was surprised at the use of the word ‘our’ but more than grateful. Ours.
“Yeah, my babies are okay,” Hoseok smiled. Jimin pulled away to raise his eyebrows in confusion.
“Babies?” He questioned. Hoseok frowned.
“Yeah. You and our baby are my babies,” he explained. Jimin giggled and kissed him once again.
“Thank you. For saving us.”
Hoseok wrapped himself around Jimin, minding the injuries and his swollen stomach.
“I don’t think I can live without you, Jiminie.” He pulled back to look the omega in the eyes. “I love you.”
Jimin let a tear fall from his eye before repeating the words, meaning it just as much. “I love you, Hobi.” And they sealed it with a kiss because it’s a romantic gesture and it’s honestly adorable.
Jimin and Hoseok had moved together into another apartment once he was released from the hospital. They found a spacious area with more room for a child to play. Jimin insisted on a three room apartment.
“What if I want more kids with you, Hobi? You’ll make such a good father.” Hoseok had blushed profusely and eventually ended up agreeing to the demand as he couldn’t really say no to his lover.
They were currently decorating the new nursery that had been painted the same color as the one previously. Jimin had gushed over his love of pastel blue and Hoseok willingly complied to help him paint this nursery the same color.
Hoseok smiled contentedly as he glanced over to see Jimin placing different colored butterflies all throughout the room.
“Butterflies?” Hoseok questioned. Jimin hummed in acknowledgement before answering.
“Because, hyung, you give me butterflies. And I can only hope our babies can feel the same way when they experience love.”
Hoseok wiped the underside of his eyes as tears threatened to appear. He hugged Jimin from behind, placing both of his hands on his stomach and whispering his thanks into Jimin’s ear.
“I’m so lucky to have met you, Jimin. I love you so much and I can’t wait to raise children with you.”
Jimin hummed and turned around in his hold to kiss him.
“I love you, too. Now can I ask for a favor?”
“Anything, my love,” Hoseok replied.
“Please, please, please fuck me right now. I’m so fucking horny.” Jimin said brazenly. Hoseok choked on his tongue at Jimin’s forwardness.
“Right now? Is that moral to do while your pregnant? Shouldn’t we wait?” Hoseok questioned. Jimin laughed and grabbed Hoseok’s hand to lead him into their shared bedroom.
“It’s fine, hyung. And I’m horny now, I don’t want to wait another month before I can have you.”
And with those words, Hoseok was more than willing to comply. He gently pushed Jimin into the bed. They kissed passionately as they removed clothes and Hoseok whispered words of encouragement as he carefully prepped him with skillful fingers. Jimin whimpered in pleasure and begged Hoseok to just fuck him right there. Hoseok kissed him gently one last time before turning his body to lay on his side, back facing him. He quickly aligned himself to Jimin’s hole before pushing in and setting a slow pace so he could reach deeper. He reached down to grab Jimin’s member when he realized the omega was near climax. Jimin screamed as Hoseok snapped his hips into him faster and tugged at his cock with the same speed. The two orgasmed with a sigh and an exchange of ‘I love you’s.’ They fell asleep warm and content after they cleaned up. They were happy.
And it would stay that way.
Jimin went into labor at around two in the morning one month later. He woke Hoseok up when he realized his water had broke and Hoseok was quick to help him get dressed and grab the keys as they made their way to the car and to the hospital. He held Jimin’s hand when the time came to begin pushing. Jimin was rather calm throughout the ordeal even if Hoseok was a wreck.
Sixteen hours later and Hoseok was holding their newly born daughter while Jimin fed their newly born son. Identical twins.
“I still can’t believe you tricked me. I was absolutely positive it would just be little Jaehyun. But I am so glad we have Seolhyun as well.”
Jimin smiled with tired eyes, “Surprise!”
“Is that what you really meant?” Hoseok continued. “When you said you wanted three bedrooms?”
Jimin shook his head, “No, love. I want at least three more children with you.”
Hoseok startled at the news, still being careful to hold Seolhyun safely in his grip. “Three more kids?”
“Yes, hyung. I want so many butterflies with you.”
“Then that’s exactly what we’ll have,” Hoseok confirmed as he kissed Seolhyun, Jaehyun, and Jimin on the forehead.
And they would stay true to their word. Happiness would follow them wherever they went, and the same would follow for their butterflies.
