It was a fine day.
Actually, it was a very good day at the castle of course.
It was the little pup’s first birthday. Jimin had woken up early right at five in the morning, too excited, watching his husband sleep beside him as he sneaked some good pictures of him before leaving to the baby’s room.
By the time he had gotten there, he was up and bouncing, wide eyes and lips in a pout, a cute chubby smile meeting him as he looked down into the crib.
“You are awake? At this time? What shall we do with you?” Jimin reached forward, picking him up, and he giggled, sounding so beautifully. Jungkook had told him that their little pup had won Jimin’s giggles, teasingly.
Jimin had pouted at that and responded with a, ‘He got that from me.’ Jungkook had then given his forehead a soft kiss.
“Do you know who’s birthday it is today?” Jimin tickled his nose against his belly, the pup giggled, a fist holding his hair before letting go. “It’s yours.” Jimin kissed his belly, and the pup giggled even more, nearly squealing. “Dada.” Jimin smiled at that, heart warm.
The pup didn’t talk much, just a single dada once in a while, and the first time they both had heard him spoke, Jungkook had cried. Jimin had to comfort and calm him down, controlling his own tears, putting the pup to sleep before hugging Jungkook, the bigger pup, to sleep too.
Jungkook had then announced it happily to the folks of twitter, who had taken it so happily, and cried themselves.
It was a very emotional day for everyone.
The day Min-Hwan took his first step was a whole another episode. Jungkook had broken down again, and this time Jimin had recorded him crying over how cutely their pup was trying to walk.
Jungkook had held his arms out, reaching it towards the pup. Jimin had stayed behind the pup, phone in one hand and a protective hand lingering to catch the pup, just incase he fell down.
Slowly, the pup took slow steps, hands out, ready to do the biggest difficult task of his 9 months old life.
The pup almost lost balance, falling backwards and Jimin had caught him, before balancing him back properly. The pup started walking again, looking up at the encouraging eyes of his father, chubby soft hands reached out towards him.
Just a few more steps.
“You are almost there, baby.” Jungkook cooed, mouth in a wide smile and eyes crinkled at the corner in too much happiness, eyes already sparkling with tears.
The pup took a slow step forward, one more and one more and there he went. Jungkook grabbed him, carrying him up, as he kissed his forehead. “You did it. I’m so proud of you.” Jungkook laughed, kissing the pup as the pup giggled.
Jimin had watched the sight dearly, tears forming as he recorded them both. Jungkook beckoned him forward and Jimin went to him, all three of them cuddling as they showered the giggling pup, with a thousand sweet kisses and a thousand number of praises.
Jimin sighed at the memory.
Finally, it was now the pup’s first birthday.
“Wakey. Wakey.” Jimin giggled, placing the pup on the alpha’s chest, before straddling his waist. The pup was sitting down right in the middle of Jungkook’s broad chest, hands slapping against them. Legs resting so cutely, Jimin looked down at him, kissing the top of his head.
An audible slap from the pup’s hand fell on Jungkook’s chest one more. The alpha’s eyes flew open, looking down.
The sight of the two sitting on his chest, a bright smile on both of their faces was enough for him to break into a wide smile. “Look who it is. It’s the birthday boy.” Jungkook cooed, tickling the pup’s waist before looking up at the omega.
“Morning, your majesty.” Jimin shyly said, tone teasing.
“Morning, beautiful.” Jungkook said, his eyes sparkling with love.
Jimin slowly got off the alpha’s waist before sitting down by his side, taking the pup onto his lap. “He had woken up early today.” Jimin said, his thumb rubbing small soft circles against the pup’s cheek, as the pup played with the end of Jimin’s shirt.
Jungkook took his time, watching them both, for a second or two, just enjoying.
“I’m so thankful to have to wake up to this sight every morning.” Jungkook said and Jimin’s heart fluttered.
“I’m excited for tonight.” Jimin said. Jungkook nodded, feeling the exact same way too. The celebrations were tonight. Hoseok and Taehyung were visiting. Seokjin was also coming. Everyone was going to be here.
“It’s also been a year ever since…” Jungkook paused and Jimin got the memo. “Yeah.” He sighed. “It’s over now.”
Jungkook’s face turned into worry for a second before it went away. Jimin could understand why, when he had returned to the castle, his nights were him waking up in cold sweat, screaming for someone to save him, to help him and his pup, hands unconsciously finding his flat belly and screaming and crying hysterically about the pup being gone, until Jungkook assures him slowly, makes him breathe, tells him he’s safe, back home, back in the castle, everything’s over.
Jimin couldn’t have a good sleep. He thought he was ok, but he wasn’t. The captivity and fear were still in him.
The nightmares had slowly gone away after about seven months of continuous struggle. It had reduced but definitely hadn’t stopped, the fear of losing his pup, comes back in full force and it breaks him every time. Jungkook would always stay beside him, telling him he’s safe, and how the pup’s safe too.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry.” Jimin assured him, leaning down to kiss him before pulling back, looking at the little guy, eyebrows furrowed, hands pulling at the sheets. Jimin cooed at the sight.
“He’s growing.” Jimin pouted. “I don’t know how to feel about that.”
Jungkook smiled at him. “He can’t stay like this forever.”
Jimin pouted even more. “Give me another one.” He said softly, shy to look at the alpha. Jungkook’s eyes widened for a second before he slowly sat up on the bed, looking at Jimin, an amused smile on his face.
“What did you say?” Jungkook asked, hesitant.
“I want one more.” Jimin said and Jungkook looked at him for a second, opening his mouth to respond when the door opened, servants coming in for their daily duties, coffees in hands as they placed it on the table, going into the washroom to get the bath ready.
Jimin got off the bed, giving Jungkook a shy look, as the alpha watched him disappear into the bathroom, before he fell back on the bed, thinking about what the omega had just said.
The day went on, Jungkook had dressed himself up, crown on his head as he walked through the hallways, watching the preparations for the ceremony for the later night.
He wanted everything to be absolutely perfect.
“Move the flower pot.” Jungkook said, pointing at it. “It’s not at the center.” The servants immediately scrambled to move it, making it perfect and Jungkook felt satisfied. They were holding the ceremony at the end of the lake, the first part of the land that Min-Hwan had stepped foot on, in Korea.
It was also a form of closure. A closure from the war that had occurred last year. A prayer sent to heaven for the lost souls who are now angels watching down on earth. Jimin had also prepared a surprise dance for the ceremony, doing the opening, with the help of back up dancers. Jimin hadn’t shown him any part of it, but Jungkook was very excited to see that.
Soon, Prince Seokjin had arrived in Korea, mid-afternoon, so very eagerly, probably to have more conversations with Knight Namjoon. Over the year, the Prince and the Knight had gotten closer. It was a more of the Prince trying to capture the Knight’s heart and the Knight replying to him as politely as ever, although one time, Jungkook had caught the Knight staring at one of Seokjin’s photo on his phone.
He had immediately told the Prince, who made a surprise visit the very next day, saying it was because he had missed Jungkook. Yeah, Jungkook didn’t buy it.
“It’s very beautiful.” Seokjin scanned the place. “Make sure the food is nice though. That’s the highlight of the day.”
“Please.” Jungkook looked at him. “These cooks were taught by the best.” He said, referring to Taehyung, who was once a Chef. They must be really excited to come. Jungkook couldn’t wait to see Hoseok either.
The day continued like that, the Prince dragging the Knight away for some snacks and Namjoon, being the ever polite gentleman, obeying the Prince’s commands. Jungkook had let him go. The decorations were almost over.
His phone vibrated in his pocket and he looked at it. It was Hoseok. Jungkook smiled, before looking up at the time, it was five in the evening now. The ceremony was going to start at seven.
Jungkook picked up the call. “Hoseok?”
“Look behind you.”
Jungkook turned around, seeing a bright smile before he was engulfed in a tight hug. Jungkook was so happy, laughing, as he held onto his ever dramatic friend. “You didn’t have to call me.”
“Please.” Hoseok said. “I had to do something extra.”
Jungkook laughed, his heart jumping at the happiness of having his loved ones here. He looked at Taehyung, he was shining, the title of the king fitting him well. They haven’t had their marriage yet. Things in Japan were way too tough to heal, and the couple was waiting to set things right, before tying the knot. Jungkook only wished them the best, knowing they deserve every ounce of happiness.
Taehyung had scrambled off to meet Jimin, abandoning Hoseok to Jungkook with a soft peck before running off. Hoseok had rolled his eyes fondly.
“They are going to gossip.” Hoseok said and Jungkook laughed, thinking of how the two omegas were always talking on the phone secretly, telling each other the latest tea. Jungkook would only laugh at the sight, telling Hoseok that they need to talk more themselves.
Fireworks announced the starting of the ceremony, the crowd cheering in happiness as they looked at the stage.
The curtains opening to reveal Jimin, a traditional red and gold flowing costume that flew around whenever he twirled to the beat, the dancers behind him, following him as they danced to the beat of the drums and the heavy bass, the violins bringing the flow of the music together. It was a beautiful symphony.
The dance performance was over and Jimin bowed, thanking before joining Jungkook’s side as they walked towards the end of the lake. The pup being handed into their hands as Jungkook lifted him up. The crowd cheered happily.
Everyone placed their gifts in front of them, one by one, a queue forming to thank the couple, talking to them before leaving. Some were letters, some were cards, some were toys for the pup, and Jimin loved all of them with all of his heart.
It was time for dinner and the ceremony went on, the night being wonderful. The fireworks never seemed to stop. The pup had fallen asleep after eating in Jungkook’s arms. Everyone had cooed at the sleeping prince. Jungkook handed him over to Jimin. Jimin had given him to one of the maids, making sure they place him in his room safely. It was a long day for the pup, and he needed his well-deserved rest.
Jungkook was incredibly happy, greeting every princes and princesses who had came, some were kings too. Talking to everyone, thanking them, Jimin smiled at them, taking their gifts with a happy smile, and a number of thanks. Taehyung had fed him food, as the six sat on the table, cooing that Jimin was still a pup himself, before Hoseok had tapped the glass, saying he had something to announce.
Jimin’s eyes had widened at that, eager, the five of them looking at Hoseok. Taehyung blushing immensely.
“Taehyung’s pregnant.” Hoseok said and Jungkook immediately stood up, and Jimin’s jaw dropped, immediately going to hug Taehyung. Hoseok laughed at Jungkook, all of them hugging and cheering. Seokjin called for a group hug, the Knight not too eager about that until Hoseok grabbed his arm, pushing him forward as they all ended up in a hug. Jungkook smiled, happy. Very immensely happy.
He looked down at Jimin beside him, already looking at him with a happy smile on his face. Seokjin, then ordered more food for himself, having the time of his life and the Knight by his side. Jimin gave Taehyung pieces of advice, told him he will come to visit Taehyung soon in Japan.
“Are you sure you can handle a pup?” Jimin asked softly, to Taehyung. Taehyung shrugged.
“It was kind of unplanned.” Taehyung sheepishly smiled and Jimin cooed, pinching his cheeks.
The night came to an end and the crowd was disappearing, everyone was leaving home. Taehyung and Hoseok had decided to stay for another three days before leaving. The Prince, however, left immediately, giving the Knight a wink who had blushed, eyes wide before walking away.
“Today was amazing.” Jimin said, his fingers gliding across Jungkook’s cheek.
“It ended well.” Jungkook said. Jimin nodded, smiling, before reaching forward, kissing the king’s lips. Jungkook smiled, pulling the omega close, cuddling and Jimin smiled against the alpha’s chest.
“We didn’t finish our conversation.” Jungkook said after a while and Jimin bit his lip, feeling shy and Jungkook looked down at him.
Jimin smiled, looking up at him, knowing exactly what the alpha was referring to. Sure, he had joked about having many pups with the omega. But, Jimin had never said anything back, only blushing or laughing or teasing it off.
Jimin had never asked, till this morning.
“I was thinking…” Jimin said. “And, you are such a wonderful father, Jungkook. You want to have more pups. I want to give you more.”
“You don’t have to.”
“I want to.” Jimin said. “I want one more.” His voice died at the end, shying away and Jungkook pulled him up, placing a kiss against the omega’s forehead.
“You can have so many.” Jungkook said and Jimin smiled.
“Also…” Jimin dragged. “You weren’t there half of the first pregnancy. I want you to experience it. I want us to experience this one together.”
Jungkook looked at him for a second before diving down to kiss him hard against his lips. “You are so amazing. I’m so lucky.” Jungkook said, and Jimin blushed, still never be failing for his heart to skip a beat when Jungkook compliments him.
“So.” Jungkook began, his voice teasing. “When do we start?”
Jimin laughed, smacking the alpha’s chest, feeling his hands glide across his back and into his shirt. Jimin gasped, looking at the alpha.
“What?” Jungkook whispered against his lips. Jimin shook his head, blushing. “I just love you.”
Jungkook’s heart singed, as he looked at the love of his life. “I love you too.”
