Turnabout Christmas

Chapter Text

“Hey, Apollo!”

Apollo Justice is not a morning person. Which explains why, when he hears his boyfriend calling him name when it is still dark, he simply groans and burrows further under the blankets.

Clay Terran is a morning person. Which explains why, when his boyfriend groans and ignores him, he shakes Apollo’s shoulders and yells, “Apollo, wake up!”

“Shut up, Clay,” Apollo mumbles. “It’s too early.”

“It’s never too early for Christmas decorations.”

“December 1st,” Clay says.

Apollo opens his eyes, and glances at Clay. “Oh yeah.”

“And you know what that means?”

“Of course I do,” Apollo says.

When you live with Clay, December 1st has an important meaning: the day they put up the Christmas decorations. Without fail, Clay bugs Apollo into helping him with the lights and the tree. And he must admit he enjoys the experience… just not this early in the morning.

Shivering in the early morning darkness, Apollo stands in the front yard and holds onto the ladder. Clay climbs to the top and stands on the roof, the box of Christmas lights in his backpack.

And as Clay puts up the Christmas lights, Apollo rolls his eyes and smiles.
