Chapter Text

The short cut Jimin takes from school to his home is what one would say a creepy, narrow pathway. It's sort of an abandoned alley beside the street road and some high end houses. He found this narrow alley when he was a freshman and decided to roam around the street after hanging out with his friends. He realized people usually come this way for mostly dealing drugs, couples come to make out in the dark or even have quickies and so so. But as the time passed, Jimin became a sophomore and then a junior ,the alley got more and more abandoned.

Jimin liked it to be that way, forgotten, unused, far from the world. He found a soft spot where a mattress was placed and he would sometime sit down and relax on it, even spending nights.

Sometimes he would find himself dragging another guy along with him in the dark alley and make out until he got sobber. That's what he'd do, always making out, doing stuffs but never got to the real deal. He would state himself fine, not happy but fine with which he was cool.

Jimin was the only child in his family. Not entirely actually. He had a younger brother ,Jihyun. But he died when Jimin was 10 years old and Jihyun was only 5 or 6. He never knew how his brother died because none of his parents would actually say the words out loud in front of him, but he always knew something was off about it. After Jihyun died, his parents got divorced, they got on their separate ways and left Jimin with his grandparents.

He wasn't a cool kid in the school, he never intended to be one. But one thing he was proud of , he had a great deal of friends. They were Five of them in their group. Seokjin,. Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok and Jimin. As Seokjin and Yoongi were seniors, leaving Namjoon, Hoseok and Jimin to be the Juniors.

When Jimin finally got to his home that night it was already late. Knowing his grandparents were fast asleep, Jimin slowly tiptoed to his room upstairs and closed the door silently. It was the last night of their summer vacation. He partied all night at Namjoon's but barely got drunk. Jimin took a glance at himself in the mirror, smirking for some unknown reason, stripped out of his clothes and sunk into his bed followed by a deep slumber.

The next day, new semester of their Junior year, students were busy complaining and groaning about the school starting sooner than they expected.
His friends, were actually the ones who were complaining and groaning. Well not all of them as Yoongi was already sleeping in the grassy field. Jimin on the other hand was never really too excited or too disappointed on anything. He finds nothing that interesting to react over. He lazily glanced at his friends. Hoseok was chatting animatedly with Seokjin and Namjoon who seemed to be really paying attention to whatever Hoseok was saying. Yoongi was using Hoseoks thighs as his pillow to sleep like a dead person. Sometimes he wonders if Yoongi really sleeps at times like these or just pretend to be asleep to avoid human interaction.

"Hey, Jimin ah, coming?" Seokjin asked Jimin, shuttering his thoughts.

"Where, hyung?" Jimin saw him giving a dreadfull glare and shuffled through his head to figure out if he missed something.

"Okay, Don't think too much, you look like you're having constipation." Seokjin laughed in a high tone "The new students, you promised to help us."

Every now and then their school had exchange students from other places, and being the head of student council, both Seokjin and Namjoon are obliged to help these new students with their school tour, rules, regulations and also to help choosing groups. Jimin was generally a kind person but couldn't remember when he promised to help them.

"Uh, hyung? When did I do that?" He asked, raising a brow.

"Last night, asshole. When you were drunk." Namjoon joined in.

"I was drunk, so how on Earth does that count?" Jimin whines.

"It counts cause I'm saying so, get your lazy ass up from the ground. Look I would have dragged Hoseok ah with us if Yoongi didn't already book him for the hour and I don't want to die, waking him up, okay?" Hoseok snorts watching Yoongi smirking with his eyes closed.

"There's gonna be ten new students, so I've decided to divide them into three groups. Namjoon you'll get Lee Lin, Bong Soo, Jimin you'll get Mingyu and Jungkook and I'll lead the rest." Seokjin glanced up from the paper on his hands. Jimin who wasn't really enthusiastic about the leading and helping the new students , decided to let go of the irritation once the students arrived at the main building. He was assigned with two Sophomores named Mingyu and Jungkook, who were surprisingly taller than him, which bothered him alot but he kept his smile on his face.

"Um okay, I'm not really used to this stuffs but here's the basic things, you always have to attend the classes, because trust me you are always watched." Jimin smirked and pointed at the cc cameras in the corridor and both the boys looked over their shoulders . "Second thing, never dare to visit the third floor of this building, legend has it ,the place is haunted, well kind of abandoned because some dude bullied another dude so hard that the latter actually died." Jimin watched the unbothered looks on the students in front of him. "And thirdly mostly importantly, do not let Mrs. Hudson let to do you stuffs okay? She's a little nut in the head. You'll know." He then showed the students the rest of the school which took him less than 60 minutes and showed them their classes after heading for the library.

Jimin was starting to think he would burn the school down after glancing at the foods the cafeteria had. Define bad, it's worse actually. After shoveling through his food alot he finally decided not to burn the school and took a sip from his cola.

Yoongi who was sitting in between Jimin and Hoseok tapped the back of Jimin's head,

"Eat. You're not eating again." Jimin was going to answer before Seokjin and Namjoon chimmed in.

"Who's not eating again?" Seokjin half yelled, made a bunch of students to turn around towards them. Yoongi enthusiastically pointed at Jimin , earning a death glare from him.

"Jimin we've talked about this. Please don't make us go over that phase." Seokjin scolded like a mother.

"What , hyung seriously I'm eating. I swear I am. I just don't feel like eating this ugly looking thing today."

Jimin was telling the truth. The problem was Jimin was once dieting so bad that he was admitted to the hospital, it wasn't a great time of period so his friends took extra care of his eating. Seokjin nodded and plopped down on the chair.

"So how were the twins?" Seokjin had asked.

"What twins?" Jimin once again was dumbfounded, had no idea what the elder was talking about.

"Jeon Mingyu and Jeon Jungkook. They're twins."

"The hell? They were twins?" Jimin raised both his brows earning a nod from the elder.

"Well I wouldn't know, cause I didn't even bother to ask their names. But they don't look alike much."

"Yeah ,I wouldn't know either if I hadn't met Kim Taehyung in my group. He's their cousin, he's in your class. They sort of like moved in together. He's kind of a nice guy but talks alot, like alot alot." Seokjin emphasis on the last word. "But the twins are hot Jimin ah."

Jimin didn't pay attention to what the other was saying as his eyes were fixed at three new figures in the hall of cafeteria. They were all tall, masculine, well built, sharp jaws, straight noses, undercut hairs. He was mesmerized. But he already knew two faces among the three. The Jeons, twins. They sat the very far corner of the room, separated from the others, as if marking their own territory. Jimin was kind of embarrassed that even though he met two of them, he didn't realize he was walking with the human version of Adonis behind him. His cheeks reds up realizing they must have checked out his ass ,which was pretty much everyone in the school wants to die for. He noticed one of the Jeons was looking at him ,like really staring. It gave Jimin a shiver down his spine so he turned to Hoseok who was now laughing with Yoongi.

"Can you two get a room or something?" Namjoon spoke before Jimin could open his mouth. "I know you two are in love but, it's really cringy." Namjoon scrunched his nose, making a face.

"Yah, We're not in love....." Hoseok protested with empty words before he was interrupted.

"Um, hello, excuse me." A voice spoke, making all of the five of them halt whatever they were doing and turn to the person ; well two of them standing next to them. It was one of the twins who spoke. Jimin still didn't know his name. He also saw the third person of the three Adonises who possibly could be Kim Taehyung.

"Oh hi, Mingyu. Guys this is Mingyu, He's new, he's a sophomore, and this is Taehyung. Mingyu, Taehyung these are my friends, You know Jimin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Namjoon and me." Seokjin babbled until Namjoon patted his back. For some reason, Jimin thought the eldest was a bit nervous. By the time Seokjin finished Taehyung took the seat next to him and threw his hand over the elders shoulders whispering something in his ears. They all greeted each other, and Taehyung was really a chirpy character but also very weird sometimes. Mingyu joined the group too, missing one more person.

"Um Mingyu, where's your brother?" Jimin asked low enough for only Mingyu to hear.

"Oh, Jungkook? He's probably at the library, he doesn't socialize much." Mingyu made a guilty face, as if he was sorry on behalf of his brother, who was giving Jimin a nasty glare a while ago and then vanished off to somewhere. A while later Jimin was laughing so hard that he leaned alot closer to Mingyu ,who was sitting beside him, realising, the boy the had a nice foreign smell on him. Jimin was so mesmerized with the smell that he was sure he could almost taste it. He flinched as soon as he realized he was too close to the boy.

The group dispatched as soon as they heard the bell rings. Jimin was taking fast steps to his class. It was math, the subject he hated the most. He wasn't late but he was always in hurry when it came to classes. When he arrived at the room , he saw Dokhyeom giving him a knowing nod and a thumbs up following by pointing at his usual seat at the back. Jimin saw one of the Jeon's sitting on his desk at the back corner. He was intimidated more than irritated the way Jungkook sat with a marking territory on the desk. Jimin took normal steps to him and stopped once he was close enough for the other to notice his presence. What he didn't know was that the rest of the class was staring down at the both of them, kind of expecting them to be arguing because God knows how feisty Jimin can get when it came to claiming what was his.

Jimin cleared his throat ,as Jungkook stared at him. "That's my seat." Jimin says softly hoping the other would appreciate his voice.

"Did you buy the desk?" Came the cold reply from the other. Jimin was blank for a moment, not because he was trying so nicely but because the fact that he found the cold voice spreading on his blood.

"No , but I sit here everyday." Jimin trying his best to be nice again.

"So? I don't see your name in here? There are plenty of other empty seats, grab one, besides, I came first." The last sentence Jungkook made was almost a growl, not a human growl but like what a wolf would growl.

Jimin was ready to fight back that instant but the teacher entered the room and the class was groaning all together. So instead of creating a mess , Jimin took the seat in front of Jungkook.

When the class ended, Jimin turned back to the boy, who was now staring more softly than before as if he was staring the whole time. Jimin took out his black sharpey and wrote his name on desk, pointed at the name he wrote, "Now I have my name on it." Giving him a fake smile ,stormed out of the room. What he didn't know was, Jungkook to his surprise loved the feisty little tantrum the other boy threw at him.

Chapter Text

Jimin heard a soft sound coming from somewhere far away. He wasn't sure what was going on.

"Hyung, I'm here, catch me." The voice sang again, making Jimin shiver. He felt cold.

"Hyung, I'm cold, help me." Jimin tried to run to the voice.

"Jihyun, hold on I'm coming."

"But hyung you're so far away."

"No , I'm coming. I'm gonna save you, little brother. Hold on."

"But I'm already dead."

Jimin was getting ready for school when he heard his halmeoni calling him from downstairs. He hurried down watch the old couple to casually seat across the table.

"Jimin ah, why's there bags under your eyes?" His grand father asked with a concerned look.

"It's nothing , halabeoji. I had a nightmare." Jimin faked a smile. The Grandparents knew.
It was the day again. The day his brother died. After his little brother died Jimin used to have terrible nightmares, continuously until he was 12. It stopped after he changed his school and met his friends back then. But the nightmares didn't all vanish, they came back every once in a while.

Jimin was unusually silent that day, everyone knew why except for the newbies. His other four friends were talking to themselves ,until the brothers appeared. Jimin unbothered by any of their presence, was actually spacing out on his own world. He only glanced up when Hoseok asked him he was okay to which he nodded once and gave a small smile. He would remain silent the whole day, that was the routine. His friends knew what was going on, so kept their fair distance from him.

The next time Jimin glanced up from his food was when he felt a kick on his leg. Jungkook was staring down at him. It was a week or so after the group reformed and took in three new friends. Jungkook was much more socializing with the group now but he didn't talk much, unless it was about teasing Jimin. He found Jimin extra cute when Jimin gets angry and fights back every time.

Jimin was about space out again when Jungkook spoke,

"You're unusually quiet today, did someone die?"

Jimin couldn't believe his ears that Jungkook would say something like that. He wasn't blaming the boy but he wasn't actually ready to hear the stuff that moment. Something boiled in him, whether it was his anger ,or his sadness he didn't know. He stood up, banging the hands on the table.

"Yes, my brother did." He shouted, fighting his tears back into the eyes.

The rest of the group was half shocked when Jungkook blurted out and was now full shook after seeing Jimin's reaction. But they didn't stop him, the old ones thought Jimin actually needed to let out something , even if it's anger, but they didn't want Jungkook to be the victim when the guy clearly was clueless this would happen.

"Hey, Jimin, I'm...." Jungkook tried to say.

"Don't bother." Jimin said, before grabbing his bag and dashed out of the great Hall in a minute. He took a sick leave for the day, ran out of the building, until his legs were hurting. He found himself standing on the middle of the street.

He crouched down, tears rolling down his eyes. Not knowing why he was so sad. Yes his brother died, yes he was very young, but hell it was 8 years ago when the incident happened. It's been so many years, so much time has passed but to him it always felt like it happened only yesterday.

He didn't even remember how his brother died, but a gut feeling in him always blamed himself for Jihyun's death. He was scared he was the reason his brother was dead so he never brought it up, ever.

He was crying his heart out until he heard heavy footsteps behind him. He stopped sobbing and looked towards the legs that we're coming right at where he was sitting.

"Kid ,you okay? Need any help?"

It was a police officer, he was actually expecting someone to come up at him as he was literally kneeling down in the middle of the street. He shook his head, getting up from the ground, wiping the tears from his face.

"No, I'm fine, sorry and thank you." Jimin didn't look back at the officer or even try to hear what the officer said in reply. All he wanted was to get away from the place, vanish if he could.

Chapter Text

His legs were wobbly but he kept walking. He felt extra weak since he couldn't sleep at night and was really tired from all the sobbing.

Jimin suddenly felt so stupid for rushing out of the school like a 12 year old. He wondered how the guys reacted after what he did. Jimin's not the kind to usually snap at any time , he kept his cool even in the most difficult times. But this time he couldn't blame himself, may be because he was tired, he was tired of not being able to find any conclusions to his brothers death, may be he was tired of not seeing his parents for almost 5 years now, may be he was feeling lonely even when there were lot of people who cared about him.

When Jimin realized where he was it was already dark. He was in the dark alley, at his favorite spot. He felt like he woke up from a deep sleep but didn't remember falling asleep.

It was in the middle of September but he was surprisingly cold. The alley was awfully silent and dark. He stood up from the filthy matress and started to work up his numb legs.

It was his place, the only place in the whole world where no one would bother him, the place where he gets to be separated from the hazardous world, but it felt foreign at the moment for some unknown reason.

He tried to brush off the unnerving feeling.

Jimin was walking out of the alley, he glanced up to see the street lights at the end of the alley.

The closer he was getting to the street the warmer he felt.

Jimin wasn't still off of the unnerving sensation from his mind, and to be honest his curious mind wanted to know if he was being followed. He turned back to have a quick look at the alley.

In a flash of a second, he saw something, more of a figure. It looked like a person standing in the dark at the furthest corner of the alley, looking right at him . He could make out the silhouette of the person, which wasn't the worst part.

The first thing that came to his mind that he was right, he was being followed.

Jimin indeed was a calm person but a feisty one when he needed to be so he was ready to jump or fight just in case. It wasn't odd that he looked at the person for a good 40 seconds , when he finally realized something very very scary.

The stranger's eyes. They were glowing red.

Jimin, as if his life was in it's stake took backsteps without turning around. He could still see the red glowing eyes as he turned around and ran the fuck out of that alley.

He never turned back until he was at his doorstep and his breathing was irregular.

The last thing he remembered from that night was how he passed out just at the moment he stepped into his house.

Earlier that day.

Everyone except Seokjin was pretty amused and shocked after Jimin snapped at Jungkook and ran out of the cafeteria.

He wanted to follow Jimin but Yoongi gave him an eye which basically meant to not to. Seokjin and Yoongi's home was closest to the Park's so they frequently keep visiting them. They know more than the others what goes on with the boy.

"You had to fuck it up with him too?" Mingyu smacked his twins' head.

"Shut up, I didn't know and I didn't mean to. You know that, we didn't know." Jungkook protested.

"It's okay Jungkook, you didn't know. And trust me I know Jimin. He'll be back after calms down." Seokjin gave the youngest a thoughtful glare.

"If you ask me, he needed to snap." Hoseok blurted out earning a lot of death glares from others.

"He's right. Jimin's been always really quiet about his brother and we never tried to even ask? He needs to talk much." Namjoon spoke, thinking the fact over and over.

Chapter Text

A few days have passed in a blur.

Well to all it passed in a blur, but to Jimin it wasn't as fast as it was for others. He was back in school, attending classes, focusing on his lecture and trying to keep up with his friends just like it was always.

Except for one thing.

He avoided Jungkook at all cost.

He was no where near Jungkook. Whenever they were in the same class Jimin would seat far across from the younger. Jimin even kept distance in the cafeteria.

If you put it in the right words , Jimin wasn't mad at Jungkook. He has long forgotten that Jungkook might have unknowingly mentioned his dead brother in a way to tease him.

It was in the math class after lunch when Jimin heard the chair behind his seat moved.

"Jimin?" Jungkook almost whispered.

"Are you gonna ignore me forever?" Jungkook spoke again.

Jimin pretended he didn't hear anything, started to scatch in his notebook.

"I'm sorry , I know I shouldn't have joked like that but you can't blame me,I didn't know about anything. So if you please just talk to me........"

"It was you in that alley that night, weren't you?" Jimin asked without even turning around, yes he was scared to utter it but he felt like he had to. His heart was pounding so hard that he doubted everyone in the class could easily hear it.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jungkook retorted back to his seat which gave Jimin more confirmation.

"Then we have nothing to talk about." Jimin was feeling Jungkook fidgeting in his seat.

"It's hyung to you." Jimin corrected. "Answer my question then we'll talk."

Jungkook started to fidget again, when the bell rang. Jimin was sure he'd say the truth but instead Jungkook just stood up and stormed out of the room. He never returned to the class or even to tell the truth. Jimin didn't see him the rest of the day at school.

*That night at the alley*

Jimin wasn't so sure if he had seen the familiar silhouette of one of his friends. The more he watched the more he started to figure out the shadowy figure just a few meters away.

The stranger was wearing a denim jacket.

Jimin was sure he'd seen the jacket before. Right then his eyes flickered to the stranger's eyes. Blazing red.

Jungkook? Jimin gasped at the realization.

That's when he started to run. Both out of fear and confusion.

The next day came.

The gang was just lazily sitting on the ground, busking in the sun. Everything felt natural, even with Jimin. He felt things were back to where they were, except there was a huge pile of questions needed to be asked to Jungkook.

Hoseok was laid down on the grass, Yoongi's head on his stomach.

Tae was hovering over Seokjin, he's been doing that alot these days.

Namjoon had found his new best friend in Mingyu, who by the way was a genius According to the older.

The last one was missing.

"Come on Jinnie hyung , feed me." Taehyung whined. Seokjin was just gulping some grapes became red . "Feed me, hyung. Or I'll starve."

"Aish. Get off me. These are mine." The eldest said. "And don't pout, just feed yourself." He said when Taehyung was literally giving the puppy eyes.

Jimin was watching them with a smirk. He was rather enjoying the scene. But he bothered to turn his head to the second floor of the building for some reason

There he was, standing beside one of the closed french windows, staring right at Jimin. Jimin stared back for a few seconds. He couldn't figure out the expression on the youngers' face but he assumed it wasn't hatred.

"I suppose you're answering my questions this time." Jimin said as he entered the empty art class room.
Jungkook didn't move one inch from right where he was.

"Jungkook , tell me." Jimin demanded this time.

"What do you want to know?" Jungkook replied in a hoarse voice.

"Was that you that night?" Jimin spoke as he took small steps to the younger.

"What if I was?" His voice trembling a bit.

"What were you doing?" Jimin stood in front of him.

"Looking for you." Came the answer from the younger.

"You didn't say you had these many questions?"

"Jungkook." Jimin half whispered. The younger was still looking outside the window.

"Jimin , please don't." He said closing his eyes.

"Tell me the truth." Jimin almost wanting it to be a mistake.

"About what?"

"Your eyes."

Jungkook opened his eyes, and all Jimin saw was black doe eyes staring right back at him.

"I can't." He said with the most genuine tone.

"Why? I'm not telling anyone anyway."

"Aren't you afraid of me?" Jungkook was curious.

"Should I be?" Jimin was curiouser.

"Very much." Jungkook took a step closer not losing the eye contact.

"I'm not anymore." Jimin gasped as Jungkook took another step towards him. Inches away from Him, his beating heart.

"You were afraid?"

"Yes." Jimin almost let out a whimper when he saw Jungkook getting closer to him.

"You shouldn't have changed your mind then." Was the last thing Jungkook said before turning his heels and walk out of the room. Leaving a flushed Jimin. With a rapidly beating heart.
