You perked up, hearing the front door close. “Jiminie?”
“Close your eyes!” He called, sounding excited.
You rubbed your belly, closing your eyes and waiting for him, counting.
“You’re counting again,” He teased, sounding like he was right in front of you now.
“I’m waiting,” You whispered, smiling. “Patiently.”
“What am I at?”
“99, 100, 101–”
He kissed you. “Okay, open.”
You did, first seeing his happy face–eyes squinted with how big he was grinning, then the huge bouquet of flowers he had brought you.
You breathed in, already making a squealing sound as you buried your face in the fragrant bouquet. Heavenly.
He laughed. “I also brought home strawberries.”
You snapped out of the bouquet, eyes huge. “Really?”
He nodded, grinning. “Really. I know how much you love them.”
You pulled him in and gave him a kiss. “I love you.”
He chuffed softly, then kissed you again. “I adore you. How’s the cub?”
You pouted. “He doesn’t sit still until you come home.”
“Is he moving now?”
He got quiet, moving in to feel your belly where you guided him, grinning. “Hello, cub. We’re really excited for you to come.”
The baby grew still as Jimin continued to talk, actually telling you about his day, but still, the baby was always calmer when Jimin was talking, giving your lungs a reprieve from his kicking.
“Better?” Jimin asked, pressing a kiss to your belly.
“Always,” You whispered, running your fingers through his hair. “He’s gonna love his Appa.”
Jimin grinned, purring and chuffing as he propped himself up and kissed you again. “You’ll be a better mother.”
“We’ll be the best together.” You compromised, cuddling up to him. “Like we should.”
He pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Our cub is going to be amazing.”
“Mmm, you only want one?”
His purring got louder and his arms wrapped more tightly around you. “Or three.”
You laughed. “As long as I can count them on one hand.”
He nuzzled up to you, rubbing your belly. “Agreed.”
