Wonder Girl: Rebirth

Work Text:

I have been working on this for so long. I re-read some old Wonder Woman comics and other comics generally and those inspired this story. Warning: Graphic abuse and other dark themes ahead

Hera does not regret the evil atrocities that she has committed. No why should she? Is she not the Queen of the Gods?

Of course she has every rigjt to do whatever she limes. Thankfully Zeus is trapped in Tartarus, a shadow of his former self if the messy unkempt hair and unruly beard is any indication plus his now skinny frame. Even his manhood had shrunken in size as a result of her stealing her husband's powers.

That alone made her job easier as she has literally tortured and destroyed everyone in Olympus out of sheer spite, her own children and the Amazons included, sending the other gods to rot in Tartarus. Oh yes she is that petty.

Now the real treat; the endless torture of the main thorn in her side; Cassandra Sandsmark better known as Wonder Girl to the mortals down below in said girl's home.

She can't help but chuckle. How this child became Wonder Girl or a hero for the matter is hilarious to say the least. In fact it is so pathetic. Of all the many demigods, Diana chose this little weakling to be her sidekick.

This child has never proven herself to be worthy of the title, talkless of being worthy to be called Zeus' own daughter.

As far as Hera is concerned , the child is a disgrace not only to the Amazons but also to the mortals that she tried to save and the gods. Why Zeus continues to favour her is beyond her and always disgusts her to no end. Funny because the only crime Cassie ever committed was to simply exist. Hera has always been a terrible mother to her kids and a terror to the Olympians.

Hera slaps the child so hard that blood gushes out of her mouth. Tears stream down Cassandra's eyes. For 3 days, Hera had locked her up in the dungeon and has been beating her up non-stop. "Daddy isn't here to save you. In fact no one would ever save you once I am done." she sneers.

Cassie pants for air and tries to struggle to fear hersrlf but no avail. Hera had taken away her powers and is slowly killing her. She hasn't eaten in days and could eat a rat or bat right now.

Hera grabs a hot iron rod and places it against the delicate skin of the child's exposed stomach. The poor girl screams in pain, tears falling down her eyes as Hera burns her skin.

Once she is done, she instructs the slaves to release her from her bounds.

The servants rush forward and unchain the soon to be former superheroine who falls to the ground head down

Hera kicks the girl hard in the face, sending her crashing to the ground. Hera smirks gleefully as she magically produces a crowbar.

As soon as Cassie sees it, she begins to back away. "N-No...." Hera tilts her head. "Yes." She then whacks Cassie hard on the head and proceeds to give her a terrible beatdown.

Cassie tries to crawl away but Hera yanks her by her hair and throws her onto the table beside her. Shards of glass cuts into her body.

Hera smirks at her handiwork. "Now the finishing touch. Using her newly acquired magic, she stabs her hand into Cassie's chest and rips out her soul, banishing it to Tartarus. The girl's lifeless body falls to the ground.

Happy with the outcome, she snaps her fingers and soon the entire house is engulfed in flames. The evil goddess disappears before anyone could find her.

Meanwhile in Tartarus, Apollo wakes up in fright. "No..." The other weakened gods stare at him. "What is the matter Apollo?" Hermes asks with concern.

Apollo's body shakes violently. Artemis and Aphrodite rush towards him and try to calm him. "I...I saw Hera...she...she was torturing Cassandra and she killed her."

The gods all exchange horrified looks. Even Ares himself was disturbed by  his mother's cruelty. Hera has always been a bitch but this time she went way too far all because of a poor innocent child who did nothing to her. Sure she is a product of Zeus's many worldly affairs but this...this was just too much.

"I can also feel it brother." says Aphrodite. "We have to stop her." says Deimos. Ares sighs. Athena I hope you know what you are doing.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Team searches for Cassie. No one had seen Cassie for the past couple days. Last they saw her signal it was at New York but they lost her since that time. "I have searched everywhere. Not a sign of her!!'  Barbara says in a terrified tone. The tracker that they placed on her is no longer there meaning that someone clearly must have kidnapped her and killed the signal. "But who could have done this to her?" M'gann asked with concern.

Before anyone could say anything, the sound of Dick's ringing phone distracts them. Dick pulls out the phone from his pocket and answers the call. "Grayson here." he says. The voice on the line was none other than a crying Conner. "G-Guys...you have to come down real quick. It's about Cassie."

Hours later, the team arrives at the site of Cassie's burning house. "Oh my God!!" says Artemis, placing her hands over her mouth. Tim, Bart and Conner hug each other, all three breaking down in tears. The entire team also breaks down as well. What really hit Dick like a knife was when he got a glance at Cassie's seemingly lifeless body which Athena and some of the gods that escaped with her managed to pull out of the rubble. Besides the horrific burns, he swore than he saw some scars on her wrists and legs. Oh my God!!  He looks down and weeps for the girl. Last time Cassie was with them, there was a lot of drama following Conner's death.

Conner's death hit her so hard that the girl broke down and became a bit of an unbearable bitch to the point that the entire team turned on her and kicked her out. Now they all feel guilty because Lord knows what demons that girl might be battling especially with her dysfunctional family. He Dick should have seen the danger signs and saved her from herself afterall, he went through a similar phase in his life so he of all people should understand Cassie better.

Athena is also in tears. She the ever stoic and serious goddess of war reduced to tears. That must be a rare sight. But then again, Cassie has always been her beloved student so for Hera to harm her like this is horrible. Hades comforts his niece, a saddened look on his face. Zeus may be a jerk but the idiot cared for his kids in his weird twisted way and it shows more in Cassandra's case. Zeus would be heartbroken should he ever hear about his daughter's death though he is sure that the other gods plus his brother felt it  from the depths of Tartarus. Although they are mostly depowered, they can still feel and sense things and can also do some things.

"Father we are here." They whip around to see two young kids walk over to them. One was tall with slightly tanned skin and long messy black hair and green eyes wearing a black suit. The other was a brunette girl with pale skin, black hair wearing a blue dress and black shoes. "Ah Dylan you have arrived and with Phoebe." says Hades.

Phoebe sees Cassie's body and gasps. "W-Who did this to her?" she asked. Dylan had an angered look on his face. "Hera did this didn't she?! Curse that blasted witch!!" he says. The rest of the team joins them. "We are also here to find out the same thing. We are all Cassie's friends and we lost contact with her for months." says Dick.

Dylan stretches forth his hand. "Nice to meet you all. I am Dylan her cousin and this is Phoebe her other cousin. I am Hades' son and she is Poseidon's daughter." Dick shakes his hand. "I believe we should all take Cassandra out of here. Will brief you all about what next to do." says Athena. Using his powers, Dylan teleports all of them away.
