My dream school.
As a poor boy who was raised by his mother and had a poor education, I never dreamed that I would make it to Bataille Academy. But, here I am, standing at the gates of Bataille Academy, ready to set foot in my dream school. My Pokemon partner, Pikachu, was sitting on my shoulder, staring up at the school in amazement. I smiled.
“Pretty cool, right?” I asked. Pikachu nodded.
“Pika!” Pikachu exclaimed. I grinned. I figured I wasn’t doing much good just sitting here staring, so I decided to go in. I made my way down the rocky path and to the front doors of the school. I noticed a few students sitting around in the courtyard, but not many. I guessed everyone else was inside. Sure enough, as soon as I pushed open the doors, I noticed a bunch of students and Pokemon rushing around in the front lobby. I was so amazed, I didn’t even know where to start. Everything seemed so unreal. It felt like a dream. I was actually standing in my dream school…
...And I’m gonna love it here.
After I finished checking in, the receptionist gave me a packet of information, rules, and locations, and also gave me my dorm room key, then sent me on my way. I had my luggage and I was ready to go, but the only problem is… I have no idea where to go! I started to wander around, hoping that I’ll find the dorms eventually. As I was walking, I started to doze off. My mind was flooding with questions about the school, my dorm, my roommates, and my classes. I was so dozed off, I didn’t even noticed a girl running towards me, at top speed.
I didn’t hear the girl’s warning quick enough, and us, our luggage, and our Pokemon, fell to the floor.
“Pika!” Pikachu cried out.
“Fen!” The girl’s Fennekin cried.
It took me a minute to recover, and once I did, I noticed the girl’s suitcase had fell open during the fall, leaving clothes scattered everywhere. I felt horrible.
“Oh my Arceus, I am so sorry!” The girl exclaimed, “I wasn’t looking where I was going, I’m so, so sorry!” I smiled at her, sympathetically.
“It’s okay,” I said, “I wasn’t looking where I was going either.” The girl looked up at me, a light blush forming on her cheeks. She had long, honey colored hair, pale skin, and beautiful blue eyes. I’ll admit, she is pretty cute. Immediately, Pikachu and I started helping her pick up the scattered clothes.
“I still feel horrible I bumped into you,” The girl said, as we were picking up her clothes, “I really shouldn’t have been running. I was just trying to catch up to my roommate, but unfortunately, I lost her. She’s way too fast.” The girl sighed.
“It’s okay,” I said, smiling, “Honestly, I have no idea where I’m going. Do you think you can show me around?” The girl blushed, then smiled sweetly.
“Of course!” She exclaimed, “I’m Serena, and this is my partner, Fennekin!” Serena stood up, held out a hand to help me up, which I gladly accepted.
“Fen!” Fennekin barked, happily.
“I’m Ash, and this is Pikachu,” I said, grinning, “I just came here all the way from Pallet Town.” Serena’s eyes widened.
“Really, Pallet Town!? Like, Pallet Town in Kanto!?” Serena exclaimed, “That’s some journey. I’m from Vaniville Town, in Kalos, so my flight wasn’t that long.” I smiled, nodding. Bataille Academy is in a region called Oblivia, which is right next to Kalos and Johto, so it’s quite a long ways away from Kanto.
“You sure are lucky,” I chuckled. Serena nodded, then opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by a high pitched squeal.
“Serena! Where have you been!?” We both turned to see, a tanned skin girl with brown hair, pulled into pigtails, and green eyes. She stood there, with her hands on her hips and a frown on her face. A bulbasaur stood at her side, looking at us, crossly.
“Sorry, Shauna. You ran ahead of me, then I got lost,” Serena said, apologetically. The girl, apparently named Shauna, huffed then crossed her arms over her chest.
“I wasn’t even running that fast!” Shauna argued, “Besides, you need to get more in shape if you want to be a Pokemon perfor- Woah, who’s this guy?” Shauna just now noticed that I was there.
“This is Ash,” Serena introduced, “He just arrived here all the way from Kanto!”
“Woah..” Shauna said, her eyes wide and her mouth agape, “I can’t believe you would travel that far, also I can’t believe that a Kanto kid got accepted into Bataille Academy. So… I’m guessing you need a tour guide.” Shauna winked at me and I slightly chuckled.
“Shauna… I-I was gonna d-do that…” Serena stammered, blushing. Shauna frowned.
“Nonsense, we can both do it!” Shauna smirked, “Come on, Ash! Time for your grand tour!” And with that, Shauna grabbed Serena’s wrist and the two of them took off running, with their Pokemon trailing close behind. Pikachu and I both looked at each other, then began following them, as well.
And just like that, what I thought was going to be a normal year of college, turned into something incredible.
