There once was a girl feared by many, but why? Well stick around and you'll find out in time...
A woman walked down a dimly lit hallway, followed by a trail of blood. A man approached her, gently leaning into her ear, a smile on his face. “Hello angel. Looks like you got hurt.”
“What do you want Russell?” She spoke, her tone cold.
“Now dear Katherine, I thought you’d be happy to see me.”
“Of all the people I’d want to see, it’s not you. And I'm fine by the way, it's only a cut.”
"Nothing "she" can't fix, right?"
"Can you shut up already?" She huffed.
“So did you reach your quota today?”
“It’s none of your business.”
He smiled, shoving her into the wall. Russell grabbed her face, forcing her to look at him. “Don’t forget who you belong to. I can take everything you love in an instant. Now answer my question.”
“Yes, I reached my quota and went over by a few bodies. Happy now?”
“Good girl. The last thing I’d want to do is punish you.” He said, letting her go. “Meet me in my office tomorrow for your next assignment.”
He walked off and she groaned once she was alone. Katt walked into an office, slamming the door shut behind her. A man looked up at her, smiling. “Bad day?”
“Why are you in my office Nikolas?”
“Yikes, full name. That bad huh?”
“Seriously dad, why are you here?”
“Well I figured it’s been a while since Russell gave you a break. We could go out with Lukas and the others and have a night out.”
She picked up her laptop, shoving it into a bag. “I have to be up early tomorrow. So no.”
Nick sighed, “I see. Maybe some other time?”
“So is that the only reason why you’re here?”
“Well no… I know you were talking about wanting to move lately, so I tried to convince Russell.”
“He said no, I kind of figured.” She huffed.
He smiled, “I’m sure he’ll come around eventually.” Nick stood up, giving Katt a kiss on the top of her head. “Have a good night honey, try and get some sleep.”
He left and she looked around the room, sighing to herself. “Like I could escape this hell.”
Katt turned and left the room, eventually making her way outside the building. She pulled a pair of keys out of her pocket, making her way to a small black car. As she got in, she leaned against the seat, looking up at the moon.
After a few moments she collected herself, and eventually started up the car. Not too long after, she arrived at a small house. She quickly made her way inside, where a man lay asleep on the couch.
She switched off the lights, quietly making her way to a bedroom. Katt plopped down her bag, and kicked off her boots. She laid back onto the bed, and was asleep within seconds.
The room seemed to grow bright and she opened her eyes, finding herself in a brightly lit lab. She looked over to find a much younger Russell standing in front of her, about thirteen. He smiled, putting a hand on her cheek. There was blood on his hands, and a puddle of blood on the floor in front of him.
“So you must be Katherine. I’ve heard so much about you darling.” He said, wiping a tear from Katt’s face. “You look so young, how old are you?”
Her voice was quiet as she spoke, trembling with fear. “I’m...10.”
“Nice to meet you. I’m going to be the next Prizroral, so we’re going to be best friends. I’m actually training for it right now.”
“But if we’re going to be friends...why did you hurt me?” She said, looking down at the gash on her arm.
“I had to teach you a lesson. You trust people too easily, and that’s dangerous.”
“Those people you call your friends, they want to hurt you.” He smiled. “I want to keep you safe, so you’ll stay here with me forever.”
“But I want to leave… I want to see Nick again and Luke.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll see them when you get older. For now, you have to train and get stronger.”
“I don’t want to!” She cried.
He grinned, holding her face a bit tighter. “You don’t really have a choice. You belong to Prizra now, and you’ll do as I say. Understood?”
She gently nodded and he let her go. She fell to the floor and Russell walked away, looking over at a man. “Markus, get her cleaned up. Afterwards, she’ll need to train some more.”
Mark kneeled down next to Katt, a pained expression on his face. “I’ll take care of it Russell, don’t worry.”
There was a loud bang and the dream went blurry as Katt snapped awake. She started to get up when she felt a cold blade being pressed to her throat. Katt looked over to see a figure behind her, dressed in black.
The voice was harsh as he spoke, "You know what happens when you're late."
