    Summary

He’ll look back on it and laugh, days and months and years from now—but in his naivety, in his youth, he completes the maths equations written on the board and plods along.

    . . .

This is Midoriya Izuku’s story, there’s no doubt about it, but if you’re looking for a main character then you’re in the wrong place.

Midoriya Izuku is nothing special, has never thought that highly about himself—and over the years, this translates to something. But even hiding within the shadows isn't enough to keep him from harm's way.

(or the story where Izuku has a Quirk about as useful as a toenail clipper, but makes do with it anyway)

Utter wump but the curiosity is killing me. Accurate depiction of poor mental health. Nedzu is callous to the point of cruelty. But then again it could be justified (I guess) from their suspicions that Midoriya could be a spy related to AFO posing as quirkless... but seriously it's not the poor depressed bean's fault that he accidentally stumbled upon the One Punch Man workout on top of having some quirk that lets him deflect (or claim?) attention away from (and to?) himself. But yeah. I'm super curious what's going on with his missing memories. They could be anything from Bakugo's abuse being more even more traumatizing than thought or even time spent in AFO's clutches... But he also had a disassociative episode and saved Shinsou from some bullies without remembering and that hasn't come up again since... And what does Inko have to do with all this? She's guilty, afraid and unsurprised to learn he has a quirk? And just let him stay in the school infirmary for a week without visiting him? WHAT DOES SHE KNOW?
I find this depiction of Izuku's childhood as more relatable. Like me, isolation was the prime destructive (and defensive) measure.
