Work Header

The good, the bad, the detective and the cop

Chapter Text

The first time you met him was when you were assigned as a homicide detective and it was the first day of the job.

You walked up to the building, standing outside, wearing a pitch black suit with you hair tied back and your makeup, although limited, was perfect. You made sure of it. You looked ready to kill and you wanted to make a good impression on your peers.

You stood outside the building of the police station, taking in the view. You worked hard for this. And now you're finally here. You felt pride as your throat closed up. You giggled to yourself as you shook your head. Taking a deep breath, you placed a foot on the first steps that lead to your future, ready to barge into your new life.

Until a scream stopped you.

“Hey! Get back here!” You heard someone scream.

You turned your head to the left, which was where the scream came from when you saw a man running directly towards you. He was wearing a t shirt and jeans with a nasty cut across his cheek. It took you a second to notice the gun in his hands and the murderous rage in his eyes.

Before you could even blink, the man had grabbed you by the arm. He dashed around you, placing the gun to your temple. An arm circled around your neck as he froze you in a chokehold.

You heard him giggle behind you as another man stopped several steps in front of you, taking in the situation.

He was a cop, evident by the badge attached to his belt. Besides that he just wore a simple white shirt and black pants.

“So what's it going to be Jeon?” The man holding you yelled. “If you take another step closer, i'm blowing her brains out.”

You tried not to panic, making sure to not hyperventilate as you tried to figure a way out of this situation.

You heard people around scream and run away like ants. More footsteps by the building were heard and off the corner of your eye you saw the Chief Kim Namjoon and several other people who had run out of the building when they heard the commotion.

The man with the gun seemed to notice as well as he twisted his body to face the group, taking you with him.

“This goes for you assholes as well!” He yelled, now placing the gun beneath your jaw, tilting your head upwards. “If you don't want the pretty lady to die, you’ll do as i say.”

To your left, you heard the cop take a step.

The man panicked as he lost his concentration, slipping up as he loosened his hold on the gun.

Quickly, taking your chance, you grabbed the gun, twisting it out of his hand. The man yelled in pain as you slightly twisted his arm in the process.

Elbowing him in the stomach and immediately followed by a headbut to the guys nose, you managed to break free from his hold. You pointed the gun to his knee and pulled the trigger.

But nothing happened.

The man yelled and charged at you as you looked in disbelief at the empty gun.

Reacting quickly, you smashed the gun across his face. His neck snapped sideways as you side kicked him across the ribs.

“You bitch!” he charged at you again but this time, you were too slow as he tackled you to the ground. You didn't let this affect you though. You drew back your arm and elbowed him across his temple. You hit him so hard he tumbled off of you onto the ground. Moving fast, you quickly pinned him to the ground.

“Handcuffs!” You told the brown haired cop, extending your hand.

When you didn't get a response you risked a second to look up at him.

He was simply staring at you, eyes wide, mouth slightly open.

“I said handcuffs!” You yelled, shaking your empty hand.

That seemed to have brought him back to his senses as he pulled out handcuffs from his pockets and gave it to you.

You snapped the cuffs onto the man on the ground, cutting off his struggling. Standing up, you pulled the offender onto his feet and pushed him onto the cop.

Looking surprised, he quickly pinned the man and dragged him into the building, casting you another glance.

You looked up at the entrance of the building where the cop was dragging the man inside. The other members were staring ,slack jawed and eyes wide. Except for Namjoon. He had a smile on his face and a look of pride.

“Welcome to the precinct, detective.”

“Hey, you.”

You turned around towards the person who was calling you.

It was the cop, Jeon if you remembered correctly.

“Hello.” You said, getting off your chair and bowing down. “I’m the new detective here,” you said, telling him your name, introducing yourself, “Please take good care of me.”

“Where did you learn to fight like that?” he asked, ignoring your comments.

You tried not to frown as you answered, “It comes with training to be a detective Sir. It's kind of necessary.”

He raised an eyebrow, folding his arms, staring at you.

A few awkward seconds passed by and you felt more and more uncomfortable with the cops staring. You broke eye contact, looking around the room but every time you tried he just simply cocked his head, following your movements, making sure to maintain eye contact.

You were about to ask him what he wanted you to say when you were saved by Namjoon

“That's enough Jungkook. You're going to scare her away.”

Jungkook simply let out a 'tsk’ sound as he looked at the chief.

“It's a good thing the two of you are here actually,” he said, ignoring Jungkook’s glare, “there's something I've been meaning to tell the both of you.”

“Yes?” You asked softly.

“From now on”, he said, taking your hand and Jungkook's, “the two of you are going to be partners.”

“What?” Jungkook said.

“Partners?” You asked at the same time.

Namjoon smirked, amused. “That's right,” he said “we generally pair the cops with the detectives. We had 2 detectives and 4 cops. I myself categorise as both, so we all ended up pairing with each other to make work easier but Jungkook ended up without a partner. But now you're here.”

You saw Jungkook roll his eyes and sigh. “Guess I don't have a choice huh?”

“That's right.” Namjoon said with a grin.

Letting out another sigh, Jungkook took his hand away from Namjoon and shook yours.

“Let's work well together… Partner.”

You shook his hand as well. “Yes sir!”

Retracting his hand, he said, “you don't have to be formal with me. Just call me Jungkook.”

“Woo-hoo!” You exclaimed, throwing your arms in the air in celebration.

Taehyung, your fellow detective smiled as you and Jungkook walked into the precinct. The man trailing behind you was simply smiling, his hands stuffed in his pockets.

“I'm assuming you caught the murderer?” Tae asked, noting your happiness.

You nodded aggressively, pulling your chair next to the detective to tell him all about it.

“It was great! Jungkook ran into the building, asking me to stay in the car.”

“Ordering you to stay in the car.” Jungkook interrupted, wrapping his arms around the top of your armchair, leaning on it.

Rolling your eyes, you continued. “Anyways, I was sitting in the car when I saw the criminal run out followed by Jungkook so I opened the car door when the guy was close enough and I kicked him right in the face! Knocked him out in one shot and boom! He was on the floor!”

“Then I chased her and caught her in a chokehold for punishment because, you. Should. Follow. Orders.” Jungkook said in annoyance, poking the back of your head with every word.

Taehyung laughed at the two of you bickering. “You’re one to talk Kookie,” he said with a smirk, “out of all 7 of us you were the one who broke almost every rule. Seems like the two of you are meant for each other.”

Chapter Text

Jungkook walked into the precinct with a sigh. He wasn’t looking forward to this day. He and his detective were stuck up over a particular case. One of the most gruesome ones he’s worked on. Generally the detectives work on the murder cases while the cops did the arrests. But this one was such a nerve wrecker that all 3 detectives working together weren’t able to solve it. He knew it was taking a toll on his partner. Being one of the youngest and the newest member, she still felt an obligation to prove herself even though she gained everyone’s respect long ago.

He was early today. No one was around except for himself. The rays of early sunlight lit the room as he walked through the hallway, towards the office.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks. A shuffling noise could be heard within their workplace. No one would be here this early. Jungkook quietly tiptoed, his back against the wall as he slowly moved across the hall and peeked his head over the corner.

“Jungkook I know you’re there. Come out.”

Eyes wide, a bit startled, Jungkook straightened himself and walked out to see his partner standing in front of a white board, a hand on her chin.

He looked at the board she was staring at. It was filled with pictures of the several victims and the suspects. Couple of red strings were used to connect one picture to the other. The rest of the board was filled with newspaper cuttings and remarks written in red marker. It looked like your typical ‘Detective TV show’ tactic.

He looked back to the woman standing next to him and asked, “What time did you come here? Usually no one comes to work earlier than I do.”

“Oh, I never left.” She replied, walking to her desk and grabbing the cup of coffee that was on it. Jungkook noted that there were three other cups there as well.

Jungkook looked at her, wide eyed. “You…Didn’t go home yesterday?”

She nodded, draining the coffee in a few gulps and throwing the paper cup in the trash, only to grab one of the other cups that were sitting on her desk.

Jungkook immediately walked up to her and grabbed her chin.

Her face scrunched up and she tried to pry away his hand but he already saw what he needed to see. The dark circles under her eyes were prominent. Not to mention her appearance. The long sleeves of her white shirt were pushed up to her elbows, the fabric tucked out of her black pants and her feet were…

“Are you barefoot?” Jungkook asked in disbelief.

She managed to escape from his grip as she frowned. “Yeah. I forgot where I kept them. I feel bad. Hope they’re not lonely.” she mumbled.

“Did you sleep yesterday?”

“No?” Jungkook raised his voice, wrapping his arms around his chest, raising an eyebrow.

“Oh no, it’s Ok!” She said, noting his expression, “I haven’t slept for the past three days!”

Jungkook’s eyes widened. His expression went from shock to anger quickly but she didn’t seem to realize as she had suddenly grabbed her bag and started ruffling through it.

“How did you manage to stay up for three days?” He asked, trying to suppress his anger.

Putting down her cup, she pulled out a bottle of coke from her bag and opened it.

She looked at him with a smirk. “Coffee and coke!” She said, pouring the caffeinated drink into the coffee. Jungkook stared slack jawed as she stirred the mixture with her finger while she walked back to the board. He felt disgusted as he watched her take a sip of that liquid.

His eyes fell on the trash bag as he saw more coffee cups and coke bottles than he could count.

His resolve snapped.

“That’s it! Get over here.” he ordered. Jungkook stormed up to her, grabbing the cup from her hand and throwing it in the trash, the liquid splashing everywhere.

“Hey!” She exclaimed. But before she could complain, Jungkook grabbed her by the back of her shirt collar and started dragging her to the break room. He was going to make her sleep on the couch and was willing to knock her out if that’s what it takes.

“Yah! Jeon Jungkook! Let me go! You can’t treat me like some kind of do-”

She stopped mid sentence. Her eyes widened as she struggled even more, pulling his hand in the opposite direction.

“Jungkook! Jungkook! Wait! I figured something out!”

“I don’t care.” He retorted harshly, “You can work on it after you sleep.”

Rather than fight against him she decided to work towards him. She launched forward and hugged him across the waist, her knees folded under her slightly as she clung onto him.

She looked at him with the puppy eyes she knew were his weakness.

“Kookie please! I promise you I’ll rest after I look at this!”

“…No.” he said, continuing to drag her.

“Aish! I didn’t want to do this but-” she quickly grabbed him across the waist and started to tickle him.

Jungkook’s body seized up as he tried not to laugh, but his grip on the detective loosened. Taking her chance, she broke out of his grip and ran back to the board.

“Hey! Get back here!” He yelled running after her.

She reached the board and screamed, “The dog!”

Jungkook stopped in his tracks, confused. “…The dog?”

She nodded enthusiastically. “The victim had three dogs. We only saw two of them, the one in the house and the corpse of the other buried in the backyard. But we haven’t seen the third one. We know for a fact that there is a third dog because the victim wrote about him in her diary. But, based on the fact that no one in that whole entire family mentioned it, its probable that the dog has been missing for a long time. So, first a dog goes missing, then the youngest baby of the family and now a family member gets murdered. If we find out what happened to the dog, maybe we can figure out some kind of pattern the kidnapper followed.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes. “OK great, we’ll look into the dog, now come on, you need to sleep.”

“What?No!” she protested.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes, “You promised me.”

She threw her hands up, “You’re can’t take me away now! Especially since I might have found something crucial! Come on, help me figure this out.”

Jungkook didn’t even bother with words. He just quickly went up to her, bent down and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder and started walking easily towards the break room. He tried not to laugh at the high pitch scream that came from her.

“Hey! Jungkook! Put me down!” She said, wiggling in his grip.

“ A deals a deal. Just stop struggling and listen to me.”

“You asked for it buddy!”

Her arms went down and pulled his shirt up, exposing his back. She once again started to tickle him but on his bare skin.

Jungkook squirmed, fumbling as he almost fell to the ground. He quickly regained his balance and snarled,

“You brat, I almost dropped you!” he said, annoyed. Without thinking about it, Jungkook drew his hand back and placed a firm smack on her butt.

An adorable squeak was heard from the girl on his shoulders.

“Y-you!” she cried out. Jungkook turned his head and smiled at how red her cheeks had gotten (he ignored the death glare she was sending him).

“Keep being persistent and you’ll get another.” he stated frankly.

Her cheeks grew even more red as she ended up staying quiet, slumping in defeat until he finally reached the break room and dumped her on the couch.

It’s been a year since you joined the precinct and you couldn’t be happier. The boys were all so amazing, treating you like family besides you being the only girl.

V and Jimin, the other two detectives, were some of the smartest most childish people you knew, just your type. The three of you made a great trio, solving cases left and right.

Namjoon was one of the most reliable people you’d ever met. It constantly amazed you, how incredibly smart the man is. He was always there for the people who needed him, no matter what issues he was struggling with himself. You couldn’t think of a better Captain.

Suga was like the overprotective older brother, threatening any guy who seemed to make eyes at you. The two of you were sleep-buddies (which sounds like it means something else but it doesn’t), regularly taking naps in the break room (and annoying everyone else in the process). You were also the only person who could wake him up without having to fear for your life.

Jin was more like an older sister, giving you makeup and fashion tips. But he was also like a dad with his endless barrage of dad jokes. Not to mention, a fantastic cook. As the host of many parties, you honestly just went for his food.

Hobi was a never-ending ball of energy, always on the move, brightening everyone’s day with his attitude. You would look at him and immediately feel motivated. Yet, whenever he was feeling down, he trusted you enough to talk to you.

And then there was Jeon Jungkook. The most perfect partner you could have asked for, even though you’ll never tell him that.

The two of you were inseparable. Hanging out constantly, within work and out of it. Close enough to know what the other is thinking without even having to say it. Close enough to go to each other when a shoulder to cry on was required. You were comfortable enough with each other to have a lot of skinship. Usually holding hands, arms around a shoulder or waist, several hugs (usually Jungkook taking advantage of your height by hugging your shoulders from behind and resting his chin on top of your head) and at times you end up kissing him on the cheek or the forehead.

You walked into the precinct in a great mood that day. Your mom called today morning and for once she didn’t mention the topic of marriage. You had a lovely conversation with your neighbor which put a smile on your face. And before you reached your workplace you met your youngest cousin who was around 2 years old.

You entered the break room and saw Jungkook, back facing you as he was making himself a drink.

You decided to surprise him with a kiss on the cheek just because you felt like it. Tiptoeing, you silently walked up to the innocent man.

Quickly, you placed a hand on his shoulder and pressed down, making him bend slightly.

“Good morning Jungkook.” You said, standing on your toes, ready to kiss his cheek.

Just as he bent down, Jungkook was caught off guard that he turned his head in surprise.

Which ended up in the two of you kissing on the lips.

Time seemed to slow down as the two of you made contact, the softness of each other’s lips lost in the impending feeling of doom.

It lasted for a second but you freaked out. Ripping away from him, you stumbled away, slamming your back against a wall as you placed your hands in shock over your lips, blushing hard.

Jungkook was just looking at you, eyes wide, too shocked to move, his cheeks growing red as well.

The two of you just stared at each other without blinking for several seconds before you mumbled a sputtering apology and walked out, running your hand through your hair.

It was nighttime and you were back home. You and Jungkook managed to not make it awkward as you properly apologized and he did the same. You both continued with your work without incident and went your separate ways when your shifts were over.

You sighed as you collapsed on the couch. Even though the incident was over, you couldn’t stop thinking about it. He had such soft lips, you thought, like kissing a marshmallow.

No stop it! It was an accident! Why are you still thinking about the kiss and how cute his face was when he was shocked! Stop it!

Frustrated, you got off the couch and made your way to the fridge to get a drink. But before you could make it, the doorbell rang, ripping you out of your inner torment. Groaning, you walked up to the door and opened it.

“…Jungkook?” You asked, looking at the man by your doorstep.

The said man titled his head, leaning against the door frame. He was wearing a simple black t-shirt with jeans and a pair of Timberland’s. His hair was unruly and messy, yet it seemed like he wanted it to be that way.

“…Can I come in?” He asked, not waiting for a response and he pushed past you, taking his shoes off and entering your house.

Closing the door, you looked at the way he seemed light on his feet and the way he was kind of slurring his words.

“…Are you drunk?” You asked as Jungkook collapsed on the couch.

“Hammered” he confirmed. “And it’s your fault.”

“My fault? I don’t remember forcing you to drink.”

“You kissed me.”

Blushing, you retorted, “That was an accident! Plus, I apologized.”

“Doesn’t matter, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you.”

This just made you blush more.

“Which is why I’m here.” Jungkook said, getting off the couch and standing in front of you.

He placed his hands on either side of your face, cupping your cheeks and said,

“I’m going to kiss you.”

Your eyes widened as you instinctively placed your hands on his chest, preventing him from leaning forward.

“Woah, Jungkook!” you objected, “How about you think about this when you’re sober, before you do something you’ll regret?”

“It’s an experiment.”

“I haven’t kissed another woman in a long time. I don’t even remember the last time I went out with someone. So I need to know if I’m flustered because you’re a woman or because… you’re you.”

You paused, considering his logic. And it made sense…kind of? The last time you kissed someone, you hadn’t reacted like this at all. It did excite you, but not to this extent. Hell, with Jungkook just standing in front of you, your heart was going haywire and he hadn’t even done anything.

Taking advantage of your pause, Jungkook leaned in, hands still by your cheeks, and he kissed you.

You were too shocked to do anything at first. Your eyes were just wide, staring at the man in front of you, his eyes closed in bliss. Quickly regaining your senses, you decided to copy him and see if you’d enjoy it.

Doing just that, the two of you kissed.

You never knew kissing someone would feel this good. It was slow, pleasant and soft. A complete contrast to your hammering heart.

Time went by as the two of you kissed, Jungkooks hands leaving your face to trail behind your back, pulling you into him.

Your hands made their way to the collar of his t-shirt, pulling it, deepening the kiss.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, the two of you broke apart, panting.

It took you a few seconds but you tried to regain yourself, hands falling to your side. Clearing your throat and running a hand through your hair, you tried to calm down as your eyes darted across the room, too flustered to look at the man in front of you.

“So,” you said with an awkward cough, “what do you think?”

Faster than you could blink, Jungkook immediately grabbed you by the collar and roughly pushed you against the wall behind you.

You made contact with a thud, gasping in surprise. Looking up, you saw the man staring at you with an intense look in his eyes. He brought his face closer to yours where your lips were just a few inches apart.

“I want more.”

Closing the gap, he kissed you fiercely again, lips moving in tone with yours as you tried to keep up.

This kiss was completely different from the one you shared before. While the other one was slow and sweet, this one was passionate and hungry.

Jungkook bit your bottom lip, tugging at it slightly. You groaned at the slight pain as he took advantage of the situation and slipped his tongue into your mouth.

It was a battle of dominance that the cop won easily. Your arms were around his neck, a hand digging into his hair, pulling it.

Jungkook growled into the kiss, clearly enjoying it. His hand reached under the hem of your shirt, brushing against your bare waist, slowly moving upwards. The skin that he was caressing felt like it was on fire. And while you wanted this to never end, sadly, the two of you had to breathe.

Breaking the kiss, both of you looked at each other with lust filled eyes, panting in excitement over what you just did and how much your life if going to change now.

Jungkook grinned, leaning his forehead against yours.

“Don’t make me forget this.” He said.

Then collapsed.

His knees gave out and he would have fallen. Luckily, you were right there and we’re able to catch him before he hit the floor.

“Woah!” you exclaimed, surprised at the unfortunate turn of events.

Your arms were around his waist as your body bent to accommodate his weight and height.

“Jungkook?” You called out, “Dude. Now? Really?!”

You rolled your eyes, grunting as you used your strength to half carry half drag the man onto the couch.

You managed to plop him down, making him comfortable as you adjusted his arms and legs. You sighed, looking down at the passed out cop in annoyance. Flicking him on the forehead as punishment, you left the room to get him a pillow and a blanket.

After tucking him in, you took a look at his sleeping face and smiled.

“You piece of crap.”

As soon as you woke up next morning, you peeked at the living room to see that Jungkook was still asleep.

After brushing your teeth you looked again to see that he was still asleep.

Taking a brisk shower, you didn’t spend alot of time getting dressed. You were a bit annoyed as today was your day off, the days where you usually take around 3 hours to get ready. But because of Jungkook, you didn’t have that luxury.

You went to the kitchen to start making breakfast. The kitchen and the living room had a direct view to each other with a work table separating the two.

You decided to make toast as Jungkook continued to sleep.

He’s probably going to wake up with a hangover. You should make him something.

You remembered an old recipe your dad taught you and decided to start with that.

Another half hour and you heard a groan coming from the brown haired man. He was finally getting up.

Jungkook sat up, confused. His head darted around taking in his surroundings. He became a bit relaxed when he saw you, but he was still very confused.

You tried not to laugh at how adorable he looked. His hair was a mess (this time, definitely unintended) and he was hardly able to open his eyes thanks to his swollen-sleepy face.

“GOOD MORNING!” You yelled, just to screw with him.

Jungkook yelled, clasping his hands over his ears from the shearing pain your scream brought upon him.

You giggled to yourself before taking the drink you prepared and handing it to him.

“It’s meant to cure hangovers. Drink up.” You said as Jungkook took the glass from you.

Glaring at you (which wasn’t really effective since his eyes were still half closed), he took a sip and immediately crinkled his nose. “This tastes awful!” He complained.

You frowned, placing your hands on your hips, “Well you can either drink it or suffer a hangover for the rest of the day.”

Jungkook pouted and stopped talking, taking another sip.

You went back to the kitchen to continue making breakfast. You decided to make pancakes instead. You knew by experience how good a hot breakfast felt after a drunken night.

“How did I get here?” Jungkook asked, looking around.

You looked up at him, shocked. “You…You don’t remember?”

“I remember drinking…And I remember hiring a cab to your place. But after that…I can’t seem to recall.”

You tried not to be too disappointed. You felt a pang in your heart over it.

Jungkook scrunched his eyes, running a hand through his hair with a groan. “So, tell me what happened.”

You laughed, trying to mask your…Whatever you were feeling.

“It will be much more fun if you remembered it yourself.”

He groaned again, letting his head fall back against the couch cushion.

“Oh come on! Please! I need to know what I did.”

You dismissed his request with a shake of a hand.

“Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything bad. Don’t panic too much.”

Jungkook growled at you, annoyed but decided to let it go since you weren’t going to talk.

He finished downing the drink before slamming it on the table in front of him. He then got up and sat himself on one of the dining table chairs.

“So what’s for breakfast?”

It was noon. The sun was starting to set, painting the sky in beautiful colors of orange, pink, purple and red. At times like these you just liked to relax, watch TV or read a book. It felt perfect.

Until your doorbell rang and you were supposed to get up from your very comfy position on the couch.

You opened the door and felt a blast of déjà vu as Jungkook was standing outside again, but this time wearing his white shirt and black pants (The unofficial uniform of the precinct). He’d just come from work. He seemed tense, a brooding tone in his eyes.

He looked at you and seemed to take a deep breath before he said,

“I remember what happened yesterday.”

“…Oh.” You said, not knowing what else to say.

Jungkook ruffled his hair, seemingly embarrassed which is not an expression you ever saw on him.

“Guess an apology is required huh?”

No. You wanted to say. But you weren’t able to open your mouth.

“I’m… sorry. For doing what I did.”

Don’t be

“I… really hope this doesn’t affect work. You are easily the best partner I could have asked for. And I…Don’t want to lose you over something stupid I did. So please try to forget what happened. I promise you, it wont happen again.”

He paused for a second, waiting for your reply. But you didn’t say anything. You didn’t know what to say in this situation.

Taking your silence as rejection, Jungkook bit his lip, struggling when he then said, “…but if you are no longer comfortable around me, I can understand. I’ll explain it to Namjoon if you don’t want to be my partner anymore.”

Giving you a quick nod, Jungkook turned on his heels, starting to walk away.

Alarms blared in your head. You couldn’t let him leave. You had a lot of time to think about what had happened between the two of you which led you to a conclusion. You weren’t one to run from your emotions. You had to stop him. So you blurted out…

“I said you didn’t do anything bad.”

Jungkook froze and looked back at you.

You blushed, but you repeated anyways, “Today morning, when you asked me what you had done…I said you didn’t do anything…Bad.”

Jungkook took a few steps back towards you, now standing almost in front of you.

You felt embarrassed now, not liking the attention on you. You fidgeted in your place continuing to talk.

“So don’t apologize because I actually…”

Jungkook raised an eyebrow.

You took a deep breath.

“…Liked it.”

You were looking at the ground due to your embarrassment but you decided to look upwards to see how Jungkook was reacting. Was he nervous, like you? Or was he surprised that you saw him in a romantic way. Or maybe he doesn’t want that kind of relationship with you so now he’s disgusted with this situation.

Now, a bit scared, you glanced up,

Only to see a giant shit eating grin plastered on his face.

He swiftly leaned forward and gave you a quick peck on the lips before you started processing what had happened.

“You…Total piece of crap!” You exclaimed which caused Jungkook to burst out laughing as you had a mini rampage.

You grabbed your hair in your hands, blushing deep red over the things you said.

“I hate you.” You stated, grabbing the door and slamming it but Jungkook was too fast, stopping the door from closing with his hand.

He quickly grabbed your arm and pulled you in for a hug, still laughing.

“Let go of me you pig!” You said, wiggling in his grip, refusing to hug back, “What was all of that for?!”

“It was to see how you really felt.” He said, placing his cheek on the top of your head, “If you didn’t like kissing me I could pretend to forget what happened and we could move on. If you did like kissing me, well this happens.”

You managed to break out of the hug and smacked him over the head.

“You just made me say all those embarrassing things!”

“Hey! You got it easy! I had to narrate a bunch of cheesy dialogues! That’s not good for my reputation as bad cop!”

You growled at him, pouting.

“You’re making this up to me.”

Jungkook sighed with a chuckle.

“Ok, how?”

“Do my paperwork for a week.”

“…I was thinking you’d ask something along the lines of where to go on our first date but I guess I was asking too much.”

Chapter Text

She looked ahead, slack jawed.

“This… is your plan for our first date?”

Jungkook and his detective were officially a ‘thing’, but, thanks to their demanding schedules, it’s taken almost two weeks for both of them to go on their first date. And Jungkook took it upon himself to plan the perfect date. And while he believes there’s no such thing as the ‘perfect date’, he’s going to damn well try. But, with their varied interests, a strict schedule and the fact that he may have chosen this as a last minute effort due to the lack of ideas, his choice was…. unique.

Which ended up with the two of them standing at the entrance of an amusement park.

He looked over at the woman stood beside him, sweating. Her reaction really didn’t sit well with him. Did he make a mistake choosing this? A terrible awful mistake?

He personally loved this place, he’d played there for considerable amounts of time as a kid and was waiting for a chance to go back. Only seemed fair to bring the person he liked as well. But maybe he was thinking too much about himself and not about her? Oh god, he ruined everything.

“Is…” he started, trying not to choke on his nervousness, “Is it bad?”

“You’re kidding, right?” she replied, looking over to him, eyes wide, an eyebrow raised.

Jungkook gulped, scared he ruined everything.

Suddenly, a giant grin broke out across her face, her eyes shining brightly,

“I love it! Hurry up let’s go!”

Immediately grabbing his arm, she started dragging him towards the entrance where they had to but the tickets. Waiting in line, she could barely contain her excitement, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet.

Jungkook looked at her with adoration. How could he be worried?

Finally, they got the tickets and raced inside, hands locked.

“Where do you want to go first?” Jungkook asked as the two of them stood in front of the large map that indicated how huge the place actually was, and which rides was where.

“Well…” She said, looking over the connecting lines and complicated drawings, “We just had breakfast so it’s probably not a good idea to go on a roller-coaster.”

“Worried you’ll throw up?”

“Oh, I know I will throw up. And nobody can see that until the third date.”

Jungkook chuckled, his heart doing a little dance over the fact that she wanted a third date.

He spoke up, “How about we start small? Let’s go on the Ferris wheel.”

Nodding her head, “Sounds good to me. But isn’t that usually for the end of the date? So, people can look at the view and make out or whatever?”

Laughing, Jungkook replied, “You know, I never really got the appeal of that.”

“Yeah, me either.” She agreed with a smile, “I would have found it romantic if it wasn’t so cliché.”

“Well…that was boring.”

“Ugh, tell me about it.”

“The view wasn’t even that good.”

“Excuse you, I am the view.” And she paused their walk for a second to pose, spreading her hands out, her eyes closed as she marveled in the moment.

Jungkook didn’t give her the satisfaction of having a reaction (although he was laughing on the inside) and she pouted at his decision.

“Come on, that was funny.”

“Sure, it was sweetie.” He said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and kissing her on the cheek, “Ready to go on the roller coaster now?”

“Now THAT, was fun!”

“Hell yeah, baby!”

“Didn’t realize you’re a screamer.” She said, teasingly, tossing him a smirk.

“And you,” he said, smiling back, “Aren’t supposed to know that until the third date.”

He took so much pleasure at the little squeak she produced, her face turning red.

Squeezing her hand he started dragging her away, “Sex jokes aside, lets go to the next ride.”

Five rides later, they finally agreed to sit down for lunch. They went to a little café that was slightly empty. Sitting down on the chairs of a table meant for two, they ordered their food which consisted of mostly unhealthy delicious pizza’s.

They made small talk as they waited for their food to arrive, surprisingly, none of which involved work. Their attention was diverted when the food finally arrived, mouths watering.

They started to chomp down on their food hungrily, having fun was very tearing.

“Jungkook,” she suddenly piped up, smiling fondly, a hand covering her mouth that was stuffed with food, “Look behind you, seems like you’ve gotten a few admirers.”

Raising an eyebrow, the said man turned around and saw two kids sitting on the table a few steps behind them. Two little girls, twins, around five to six years old, with light fluffy brown hair tied in pigtails. They were wearing identical clothes, one wearing a pink frock with black dots while the other wore a black frock with pink dots. And they were staring at them. While this might normally scare him, considering the number of horror movies he’s seen, he didn’t have to be as he could see the look of admiration and awe written across their faces.

Jungkook took a second to look at himself, wondering what it was that they found so enticing even as little kids. He was wearing a simple black t-shirt with a long, olive green coat accompanied with ripped jeans and black boots. He thought he looked rather nice.

But then he looked at her, with her simply purple dress over a pair of black leggings. Her beige jacket was hanging over the chair. And while it was a simple outfit, Jungkook thought she looked stunning. She put in a lot of effort into how she looked today, which Jungkook could notice, but at the same time she managed to keep true to herself, not over-doing it. And the fact that he found her stunning in a situation, where under normal circumstances, he would have found dull, proved to him just how much he adored her. And he was sure the young girls were thinking the same thing. It’s not every day they see someone as beautiful, strong and radiant as his girlfriend.

Her elbow was resting on the table, her chin in her hand as she looked at Jungkook and the two girls with a bright shine in her yes and it honestly melted his heart. She looked so blissful and perfect right there, he wanted to take a picture to savor the moment, but sadly, that would only ruin it (and it did seem a bit weird).

He reached out and held her free hand, lacing his fingers through her’s as his thumb gently rubbed over her knuckles.

“…I don’t think it’s me they’re admiring.” He said.

Finally, the day was done.

It was quite an eventful date They went on several more rides, one of which was the merry-go-round that only kids rode in, and yet the two of them hopped on with their heads high and rode the wooden horses because “We’re cop’s/detective’s dammit! we deserve this!”

They decided not to go on any of the water rides, as they had no extra pairs of clothing, and decided to leave those for another day.

Exiting the park, Jungkook marveled at how dark the sky was considering that they were here in the morning. They spent the whole day together and he couldn’t be happier.

Turns out dating isn’t as different than just simply, hanging out, just with more kisses and occasional ass grabbing. The two of them managed to talk each other’s ears off, which was surprising considering that they’ve been best friends for over a year. But still, they managed to make it enjoyable. Jungkook was happy with the way their dynamic worked. He didn’t feel the need to pressure himself over being good ‘boyfriend material’. She didn’t want him to pay for every meal, or constantly have him holding her hand (not that he didn’t want to, just that sometimes he forgets) or have him go easy on her when they got into a particularly messy ‘ice cream fight’. She just wanted him to be himself.

“So what do you want to do for dinner?” Jungkook asked, swinging their hands in unison as they walked down the street. The sky was getting darker with the unsettling image of big, grey clouds looming over them.

“I’m OK with anything.” She said, trying to keep up with Jungkook’s long arms as she squeezed their fingers tighter.

“I’m not really in the mood for outside food… I can cook you something if you’d like.”

“You can cook?”

“Yes, I can cook,” he said, annoyed, “Not as good as Jin, but I can cook.”

“So that makes you…”

“Don’t do it.”

“Oh my god.” Jungkook said, rolling his eyes, trying his best not to laugh, “that was weak.”

“Yeah I know,” she said, sticking out her tongue.

They continued to walk for a while, swinging their hands, their steps in unison. Jungkook started to hum a song and she joined in as well which led to both singing (not too loudly) together.

Through their mini concert, time seemed to pass by quickly as they had to stop only when they felt the tiny patter of water.

It was raining.

And they were still twenty minutes away from Jungkook’s house.

The date ended with the two of them sprinting as the heavy rain washed over them as they laughed their hearts out. Ignoring the various hotels and shops that would be more than happy to lend them shelter, the two of them simply ran hand in hand as they got soaked by the rain.

Jungkook tried not to choke himself as he panted and laughed and inhaled water at the same time. That night as he ran hand in hand with the woman he adored, he took back his previous statement.

This was the perfect date.

The two of you were back at your place after your fifth date and you couldn’t seem to keep your hands off of each other. As soon as you closed the door to your house (which proved to be quite difficult as making out with someone can be very distracting), Jungkook swiftly picked you up by the back of your thighs and slammed you into the wall right next to the door, his lips never leaving your own. You moaned as he grinded his hips against you, your legs wrapped around his waist. He stopped kissing you only to occupy his lips with your neck. Sucking and nibbling. He grabbed a fistful of your hair and pulled, making your head lean back as he had more room to work with. You moaned when he attacked a certain spot on your neck which made him growl in excitement as he latched his mouth on that spot, biting and sucking it.

While he was busy with that you let your hands start unbuttoning his shirt before you grew impatient and just grabbed it and ripped it off, buttons flying everywhere.

Jungkook smirked at your hurried nature, separating himself from your neck, chucking at the adorable whine of protest as he quickly grabbed the hem of your t shirt and pulled it over your head.

You didn’t have time to be embarrassed as he immediately started making out with you again. Your hands traced down his chest and abs, dancing across his skin, lightly scratching some of it while his hands were now down by your ass, squeezing it harshly.

A few minutes passed with your hands roaming around each others bodies. You managed to get Jungkook shirtless and remove his belt while he managed to take off your pants (although you’re confused as to how considering you’re up against a wall. Needless to say, you were impressed).

“Jungkook ah-” you moaned out while he was busy unhooking your bra, “bedroom.”

Jungkook threw the cloth down on the floor, aggressively lifting you up higher.

“We’ll get there eventually.”

You groaned as you palmed around your beside table, searching for the blaring alarm.

Finding it, you shut off, sighing with content.

Lying on your back, you raised your arms above your head and stretched, making a small squeaking sound as your muscles loosened.

You surprisingly felt a cool breeze across your body. And you were also able to feel the blanket on every inch of your skin.

Looking down, you saw that you were butt naked.

And you were not alone.

Looking to your side you saw Jungkook, seemingly just as naked, asleep besides you, an arm around your waist.

Last night events flashed through your eyes. You felt your face heat up, turning red as you remember the night of you screaming and moaning as you and Jungkook partook in a very steamy and dirty night. Remembering the number of things you used your mouth for and the number of positions Jungkook easily switched you to as he pounded into you relentlessly was enough to make your heart beat fast.

Letting out a frustrated sigh, not wanting to get excited so early in the morning, you decided to not think about it for now. Gathering the blanket around you, you were about to get out of bed to go take a shower,

However, the arm around your waist tightened its hold on you.

“Don’t go.” Jungkook mumbled, eyes still closed.

“I want to take a bath Kookie. Lot of things I need to wash off.”

Jungkook smirked but ignored your request as he pulled you back so hard that you toppled back onto the bed, into his firm chest.

He then wrapped his arms around you tightly, nuzzling his face in your hair, sighing in content with the feeling of you on top of him.

“That’s alot of hickeys,” he said, tracing a finger on your neck, “it’s sexy.”

“Also a pain,” you said, scrunching up your shoulders so that you could lift your head, looking at him, “I have to figure out how to cover them up.”

“Hmmm…” Jungkook licked his lips, eyes glued to your somewhat-exposed chest. “Did I leave any marks here?” He asked, ripping the blanket of of you.

“Jungkook!” You shrieked as you tried to cover up, shivering a bit as the cold wind hit your naked body.

He laughed as he switched the situation, quickly pushing you off of him, making you fall onto your back, chest towards the ceiling .Pushing himself up as well, he straddled you, your hips trapped between his knees. You tried your best to avert your eyes from the pure naked hunk of a man in front of you, but you couldn’t help it. Jungkook smirked as you shamelessly looked him up and down, the lust evident in your eyes..  He looked down at you with the sexiest look in his eyes. Grabbing your hands, he pinned them above your head, not allowing you to move them, your body completely at his mercy.. He stared at your chest, biting his lower lip.

“Doesn’t look like there’s enough. Let me fix that.”

You were just about to fall asleep when Jungkook’s phone rang.

You groaned in annoyance as your boyfriend picked up the phone, chuckling at your whining.

“Hey man, whats up? Hmm? No I won’t be coming home today. Yeah I’m at her place. Sorry, forgot to tell you. Yeah, good night.”

You felt him shuffle behind you, placing his phone back on the bedside table. You sighed happily as he spooned you again, an arm under your head like a pillow, the other one protectively around your waist and his shirtless chest on your back.

“Was that Yugyeom again?” You asked softly, half asleep.

“Yeah. Forgot to tell him I’m staying at your place tonight.”

“Poor Yugyeom. Having you as a roommate must be tough.”

“You enjoy it.”

“Yeah but that’s because I get to have sex with you.”

“Oh. Is that all I am to you? A hot sex toy?”

Jungkook gave your butt a firm spank and you giggled at his annoyance.

He cuddled you more, burying his nose in the crook of your neck, placing a few soft kisses. You sighed in content as you slowly drifted to sleep.

“I do spend more days at your place than at my own.” Jungkook suddenly piped up.

You turned your head to glare at him. You were practically asleep and did not want anyone to disturb you.

“So just move in with me then.” You said.

Jungkook perked up. “Are you serious?”

“Yes. Now let me sleep.”

“Congratulations!” Jin yelled as he popped the cork of the champagne bottle. Everyone cheered as the foam poured down onto the floor as Jin started pouring a glass to every member. After everyone has a glass, they all clinked them together, yelling cheers.

You took a sip of the wine, enjoying the taste as the boys started to banter. You felt an arm wrap around your shoulder, immediately knowing it was Jimin.

“100 cases solved by our department. How incredible is that!” He exclaimed, somehow already a bit drunk from the champagne.

Taehyung was now at your side as well, slipping his fingers through yours. “Pretty damn incredible! All thanks to the three of us!”

Hobi spoke up, “what are you talking about? We all contributed!”

You rebutted, “Contributed what? We were the ones who solved the crimes! The only things you cops did was run around and beat people up!”

This started a huge argument in the precinct that lasted for over an hour.

And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jungkook moving in was a smoother process that you thought. He had limited furniture to move in, just alot of clothes.

You were putting on your shoes, preparing to go out to buy groceries cause from now on, you’re cooking for two. Jungkook was going to stay at home, unpacking.

You tied your shoelaces and stood up, patting the back of your skirt.

“I’m heading out” you called out to your boyfriend. Jungkook quickly stood up from where he was seated on the floor, unpacking a box, and walked up to you, giving you a quick kiss.

“Bye. I love you.”

“Love you too.” You said, opening the door.

The two of you froze in place for a few seconds, processing what just happened.

You turned around and looked at him with a confused expression, “…Was that the first time we said ‘I love you’ to each other?”

Jungkook slowly nodded, “I think so.”

Moving quickly, you gave each other a high five before you left to buy groceries and he went back to unpacking, excited to officially start living together.

Chapter Text

It’s been two years since you’ve joined the precinct. One year since you and Jungkook stared dating and 3 months since you’ve started living together.

The two of you had an exhausting day. An arrest, an interrogation, another arrest and a total of three meetings later, the two of you were finally back home. You collapsed onto the couch in sync, still dressed in your white shirt and black pants, the unofficial uniform of your department.

Jungkook wrapped an arm around your shoulder, his head titled as he rested it on top of yours.

“So much for the anniversary plans.” He mumbled.

“What anniversary plans?” You asked, eyes closed, your body slouching as it felt like you were being swallowed by the couch.

“I don’t know. Maybe go out for dinner, catch a movie, have sex.”

“We do that every other day. Can’t say it’s really special.”

“That’s a good point.” he agreed with a chuckle.

You opened your eyes and took a moment to reflect. You were currently on the couch with the man you love (who was now closing his eyes. And something about that made him look so innocent and angelic it honestly melted your heart) after a long day of being productive and making the world a slightly better place to live in. And honestly, you couldn’t think of a better way to spend your time. Being embraced and spending time with your boyfriend after coming back from a job you both loved.

“You know, this isn’t that bad.” you said, turning your head to face him.

Jungkook smiled too, somehow (although not surprising) thinking what you were thinking.

He leaned forward and gave you a quick kiss before pulling you closer to him.

“Not bad at all.”

It’s been six years. You were no longer a detective of the precinct you used to work in. Everyone had gone their separate ways.

Namjoon just climbed the ladder higher and higher until he was almost at the top. A series of near death experiences caused him to temporarily resign.

Suga and Hobi were still cops, each a head their own units.

Jimin was now a professor, teaching future would be detectives.

Jin took a break as well, opening up a small restaurant.

Taehyung was still a detective but also a professional saxophone player on the side. Because that’s something only Tae would do.

Jungkook was now higher up on the ladder as well, often hired to be a personal bodyguard for politicians and celebrities as well as a trainer for incoming cops.

You were now a chief, running a division of over 20 people. You were also working alongside a number of psychologist to create a database of criminal intent.

It’s been 5 years since you and Jungkook got together and nothing has changed yet everything has changed.

Your relationship grew stronger and stronger as time went by. You’ve had countless number of arguments, several full blown fights and a ‘break up’ for three whole days before the two of you realized you couldn’t live without each other and immediately made up.

You met his family and they loved you, already calling you their daughter.

He met your family and they loved him. Especially your mom who wouldn’t stop telling you to marry him as soon as possible.

Just like she was now.

You rolled your eyes as your mom started rambling about marriage through the laptop screen.

“Don’t roll your eyes at me young lady, I’m being serious here!”

You giggled, “I know mom.”

“I’m not going to be here forever sweet pea,” your mom said, “I want to see my grandchildren before I pass.”

You sighed, trying to hide your smile. Your mom had been using that excuse ever since you turned 20.

Just then Jungkook walked in, carrying a box of items into the living room where you were. The two of you bought a second house (including the apartment that you used to live in, this was the third home you’ve shared) together and were finally moving in.As of now, it was just an empty room filled with boxes and one dining table with two chairs, but you were still excited to start a new home with Jungkook.

“Mom, if it’s taking me this long to get married, how long do you think it will take for you to have grandkids?”

Your mother groaned through the screen and you heard Jungkook stifling a laugh.

“I have to go mom, lots of unpacking to do.”

“You’re already living with the man, why don’t you just get hitched?”

“Bye mom.”

You turned off the video call as you and Jungkook both started to laugh.

After the two of you calmed down, you got off the floor to help with the unpacking.

Awhile later, after setting down all the boxes, you were sitting on the dining room chair browsing through your phone when Jungkook walked up behind you and wrapped his arms around your shoulder. You smiled as chin rested on your head comfortably. It’s been years, but sometimes these small domestic moments still warm your heart.

“Have you ever thought about it?” He suddenly asked.

“About what?”

“Getting married.”

You paused for a second, before replying, “To you?”

“I should hope so.” he said and you could hear his frown.

You chuckled and raised your hand to ruffle his hair, “Of course I have. Mostly because Mom won’t let me forget about it.”

Jungkook laughed and you could feel the rumbling through the back of your head.

“So what do you think about getting married to me.” he asked.

A second passed, the words sinking in before you raised your head, looking upwards at a Jungkook, who to you, was upside down.

“Are you proposing to me?”

He shook his head. “Not right now, I don’t have a ring. But maybe soon.”

A huge grin spread across your face, you couldn’t help it.

“I’d like that.” You said.

“Of course. Introducing you as my boyfriend after so many years feels a bit weird to me now.”

“So you think husband sounds better?”

“Much better.”

Jungkook grinned that smile that you loved so much as he placed a kiss on your forehead.

“Mr. And Mrs. Jeon. Has a nice ring to it.” He said.

You smiled before saying, “you better start thinking about baby names that go with it because I promise you, the day after we get married my Mother start bugging us to have kids.”

“Oh shit.”

Chapter Text

Just some extra stuff that didn’t really fit into the series

“Jungkook! Come on, we’re going to be late!”

You looked at the watch strapped around your wrist and tapped your foot impatiently. It was your second date and the two of you were supposed to catch a movie in another half an hour.

Jungkook had come over to your place immediately from work and was taking time changing the clothes he brought with him.

“Here! I’m here.” He said, storming out of your room, “sorry.”

You stared at him, a small smile slowly creeping across your face. “What are you wearing?”

Jungkook was dressed in jeans and a baggy, over-sized long sleeve dark blue top that reached his thighs. It was the kind those Korean idols wear.

He looked down, confused. “Why what’s wrong?”

“Nothing! It’s just I’m so used to seeing you in a shirt I never expected you to look so…”

“Cute?” He asked, slightly blushing from the attention.

“Fluffy!” you corrected, running up to him and hugging him tightly.

You giggled cutely and you cuddled into the softness of the fabric and the warmth of your boyfriend.

Jungkook was taken aback but wrapped his arms lightly around you as well.

“Didn’t you say we were running late?” He asked.

“It’s ok,” you said, snuggling into him more, “we can be a few minutes late.”

“How do you not know how to tie a tie?” You asked Jungkook as he stood in front of you, waiting for you to finish.

You made the necessary fold, finally pulling the last strand before you folded his collar down.

“There you go,” You said, patting his chest, “now you look professional.”

Jungkook looked in the mirror, straightening the tie around his neck.

“Thanks,” he said, fixing his hair for the umpteenth time.

“You’re welcome,” you said, pushing him aside to look in the full length mirror to make sure your outfit was alright.

The group had cracked an infamous case that had every other district baffled. As the eight of you managed to solve it and catch the criminals, the press demanded a conference with all the members which is why the two of you were dressing up.

You smoothed the light brown pencil skirt to perfection, straightening your white shirt.

Jungkook slipped on his black coat. Checking himself out in the mirror. He looked good.

You had walked out of the room, pulling out your phone to call a cab. As you walked Jungkook trailed behind you, watching you. The pencil skirt did marvelous things to shape your body which he deeply appreciated.

“Cabs here.” You said, hanging up, “time to go.”

You walked over to the shoe rack, bending down to pull out a pair of heels.

Jungkook gulped at the view, enjoying it but had to restrain from ripping your clothes off then and there, no matter how badly he wanted to.

You had slipped on the heels as well as a handbag over your shoulder.

“Come on, let’s go.” You told Jungkook, who seemed to just be standing there.

You opened the door and walked out to give the man more space to put his shoes on.

Jungkook straightened, pulling down the jacket. He stepped out and waited as you locked the door.

“You look good.” Jungkook said, admiring you once again.

You straightened up with a sigh.

“I should hope so since you can’t seem to stop staring at my butt.”

“He used to date a model?” You asked Jin who was, for some reason, sitting on top of your desk.

“Yup. A pretty famous one too. Min Yoonji. Heard of her?” Jin asked, handing you a cup of coffee.

“Can’t say that I have.” You replied, thanking him for the drink.

“Really? It was a pretty big scandal. People never saw Jungkook with her but people were following her around just to see him. It was pretty crazy.”

“Huh.” You frowned, taking a sip, slightly annoyed.

“What?” Jin asked, a knowing smirk on his face.

“Nothing.” You defended, voice more high pitch that you’d like it to be.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better, Jungkook dumped her after a month.”

Your ears perked up, “really? Why?”

“She was a bit of a bitch. None of us liked her.”

A small smile creeped up your face and you hid it immediately.

“Oh what a shame,” you said, with obvious false modesty.

“Mmhmm. Sure.”

The two of you drank your coffee in silence as you read the latest report.

“Hey, want to hear a joke?”

“How does NASA send their satellites into space?”

“They planet.”

You spewed out the coffee in your mouth, choking as Jin started clapping his hands and laughing.
