"The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful." - Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

A panel convenes to question the people in Gregory House's life. Possible character death.

A cracky remix of the brilliant story "Inquiry", in which a panel convenes to review Gregory House's life. You can read it first, then come back here. Or it won't make much sense. Some readers consider both of them as "mandatory reading"

My thanks to houseshouseofwhining.com and clinic_duty at Live Journal. The latter has full transcripts of every episode.

This story picks up during the questioning of James Wilson. Some characters from the show, some OFCs.

Pain, he had lived with it for many years now, it wasn’t new to him, he was always in pain.
But this, this was new one he had never quite felt the excruciating agony that was engulfing his body, and his mind. He wasn’t ready, to hell with that when was anyone ready for this.

    Summary

Without actually trying I seem to have created a 'verse. Sometimes the stories have a life and a will of their own. Actually, not just sometimes, but that's a topic for another day. If you've been reading my stories for a while, and I know a few of you have, you'll find that things seem to focus on Seattle after The Gift. I needed an alternative to The Gift to be able to keep writing post-finale stories. Hence The Gift - Take II.
Since I had no intention to create a series or a 'verse, I'm struggling to find a name for it. Take II seems to fit, though. A new chance for everyone.
