Kazuki y Rei no tenían nada en común, solo eran compañeros de clases y no había razón para que existiera relación alguna entre ellos, pues sus vidas funcionaban de una manera en la que el otro nunca sería capaz de comprender.
Simplemente tenían prioridades diferentes.
Mientras uno buscaba sobrevivir un día más en esa vida de mierda, el otro quería seguir fingiendo que podía salir de esta si se esforzaba y mentía lo suficiente.
Pero cuando sus caminos se junten por el simple capricho de ambos, tendrán que descubrir que el destino, o el Dios en el que ninguno creía, había lanzado sus dados y los había fundido en una suerte de fortuna para luego condenarlos a la desgracia.
Si de alguna manera esto tenía sentido.

Zanka glares. “Don’t call me kid.”
Enjin sighs. “Sorry. Force of habit.”
More ash falls into his lap.
“‘S fine,” Zanka replies. “Unless…I mean, you don’t still see me as a kid, do you?”
“No,” Enjin says. Too fast.
Smoke wavers and he pulls his cigarette away to tap it.
Zanka’s eyes stay. “I’ve been wondering if those taste good.”
“Doesn’t matter. You don’t want it.”
It’s a lie for both of them, and it fools neither.

Summary
"Stop." Enjin rasps as he gets up from the bed, reaching out. "Zanka, stop! You’re going to tear the stitches."
"Let them tear!" Zanka snaps, whirling around. He doesn't quite make it, the sudden twist must have hurt because he hisses, doubling over slightly and Enjin is there, a hand at the small of his back, fingers around his wrist. Zanka looks so small like this, half-shrouded in the oversized haori, pale shoulders trembling. "At least then you'd have an actual reason to look at me like I'm falling apart!"
The silence is deafening. For a moment the only sound in the room is Zanka's harsh, uneven breathing, the half growl he makes as he tries to tear away from Enjin's grasp.
"It's not you, kid." Enjin says on an exhale and it feels like shifting the weight of a giant rock upon his shoulders, like his spine nearly breaks from it, too. "It's me. I'm falling apart."
Zanka stops struggling against him.
"And there's no stitches for it."
Or, Zanka's near fatal fight with Jabber forces Enjin to face his feelings.

“Yeah, I heard about that” Senku answered. “And did you know that according to some studies it only takes 94 minutes to fall in love? There are others that state it takes no more than a few seconds, but that’s ten billion percent fake. The only thing you can feel towards the other person in such a short amount of time is attraction”.
