Eric Bittle encounters waffles, frogs, a robot, and a bad guy.
Jack went online and ordered a copy of his old college poster that stated simply, “Be Better”. When he received it a couple of days later, he hung it up in his bedroom so that it would again be the first thing he would see when he woke up.
He found the stark message comforting. He had a purpose everyday with that poster. He knew what to do, what to strive for every time he awoke. In the past couple of years, he forgot that directive; and now, his life was aimless, wandering, tenuous. He needed the firm hand of the stern command of the poster’s directive.
Well, I need to Be Better, he vowed. And I will now.
Or, Jack grows and gains strong friends.

Eric Bittle's doing great. He and Jack are still madly in love with each other (even though he's been grumpy for the past season). Bitty led SMH pretty well (although they had a lackluster season). And Bits'll graduate quite soon (if he can get his darn thesis done). Then stupid Kent Parson and his stupid charity had to interfere with his life.
Or, Eric learns some hard lessons, and finds out what his dreams and ambitions are.

“Parse?” Jeff breathed. “Kent, what happened?”
Kent looked up, eyes dead. His voice creaked as he dully answered, “The Aces don’t want me anymore because I’m gay. Jeff, the NHL’s kicking me out of hockey.”
Or, what happens if Kent had a strong group of friends, a great therapist and the ability to let go and grow.

This was what Shadows did. This was their duty to the larger Order and the Galaxy as a whole. To fight malicious Force use, to find and defeat the Sith no matter how many times the darksiders crawled out of their holes. Their way was the best way because under their guidance the world suffered no lack of opportunities for free will. Under the Sith only darkness would flourish.
