And now he was at a party with a girl that he liked but not in the right way, standing across the room from a boy that he liked but in the wrong way.

Summary
“Wait, there was an actual proposal?” Javy asks. “Wow, I didn’t think…”
Bradley glares at him. “Seriously? Did you people imagine we just tripped and fell through the wrong door in city hall?”
“I thought maybe you went to Vegas,” Fritz pipes up.
“I’m still not convinced it’s not a tax scam,” Bob adds.
“Now that you bring it up,” Jake says thoughtfully, “he did mention the tax breaks when he proposed.”
Or, X times someone else observed Jake and Bradley as a married couple and tried to understand how exactly that happened.

Summary
The first thing Bradley thinks when he wakes up with a crick in his neck is that his mouth tastes horrible.
The second is that he’s not sure he’ll recover from the glimpse he catches of Hangman, tiptoeing past him from what’s presumably the bathroom to the kitchen, towel slung low around his waist and hanging on for dear life.
Jesus Christ, Bradley grumbles silently. How hard is it to put on pants when you get out of the shower and not waltz around with maybe-maybe not-friends-probably-still-just-coworkers in your living room? Some of us need our brains in the morning. To think.

Summary
“Where does this leave us?” Bradley asks eventually.
Jake snorts. “In what way?”
Bradley shrugs. “I don’t know. Emotionally, physically. Legally.”
Jake thinks he might be dizzy. He hasn’t drunk that much tonight, but he has been wondering about the answers to that question for a long time. Finally talking about it…it barely even feels real. “Let’s start with the last one,” he says. “That sounds like the easiest part.”
“Well,” Bradley says gamely. “Legally speaking, I think we’re, like, one piece of paper away from being married.”

In a Walmart at three am, between beef jerky and tortilla chips, with the lights flickering above them like it’s the fucking twilight zone, Bradley wants him more than he’s ever wanted anyone.

Summary
Bradley’s mouth goes dry at the sight of him; strong thighs encased in dark, skintight denim, chunky lace-up boots, white t-shirt, and a soft-looking leather jacket covered in patches. He’s not wearing a helmet - only a pair of aviators - and while Bradley knows he should chastise Jake for not being more careful, he’s too busy drooling over the picture he makes as he pulls up to the front of the hangar. Fuck, he wants to eat him. Or maybe just his ass. Whatever.
The bike’s low, seductive rumble cuts out as Jake kills the engine, nudging the kickstand with the tip of his boot before dismounting. He pushes his glasses up into his hair, grinning at Bradley and holding his arms out in an expansive gesture.
“Hey, baby. Miss me?”
