Darcy Lewis has never depended on anyone for anything. Growing up the daughter of a third-generation hippie without a father-figure will do that to you. So deciding to look up said father was never something she planned to do. He didn't want her, so she doesn't want him, simple as that. But when her mother dies, Darcy has a decision to make: stay with her beautiful daughter in the life she and her mother have managed to make for themselves, or go in search of her father, give her baby girl a family.

Inspired by Dua Lipa's song New Rules:
Bucky Barnes is a terrible boyfriend. He's great at hanging out and watching movies, cooking dinner, and making Darcy see stars when they're in bed together. But she is definitely now well acquainted with the phrase "emotionally unavailable". Every time things start to get intense between them, he ghosts, leaving her baffled and hurt. She can't even tell if he wants a relationship or only keeps coming back because he knows she's a sure thing. So Darcy's determined to make some new rules to protect the heart he's stomped all over.
#1: don't pick up his calls or return his texts
#2: avoid him like the plague
#3: don't let him seduce her back into his bed
Only three rules. How hard can it be to stick to them?

When lab monkey and definite not superhero Darcy Lewis does something incredibly brave and monumentally stupid, she saves the Avengers and the planet from all out destruction at the hands of Thanos.
Picking up the pieces afterward is a lot less fun than she imagined. After an experiment to see the full extent of her new abilities, she finds her fate inexplicably tied to Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers.
Thrown in with the Avengers, she has to figure out where she fits in while navigating the stormy seas of being tied to two of the broodiest soldiers who have ever brooded.
Stubborn Steve Rogers! Mopey and Angry Bucky Barnes! Badass Powered Darcy Lewis! Cool Older Brother Tony Stark! Multiple mentions of David Bowie! This one's got it all!
