Sasuke’s gentle lips curved into a mirthless and icy smirk.
“Taking a midnight stroll, Naruto?” Sasuke’s voice was low, but the chilliness of his tone seemed to sink into Naruto’s spine.
“It appears so, Sasuke.” Naruto was slightly taken aback at the use of his name. Sasuke almost never addressed him by name, and when he did, it didn’t usually sound this bitter against his ears. “Is something wrong?”
“Not at all, I just assumed you’d be too tired for a walk after what sounded like an exciting yet draining exertion,” Naruto froze in his tracks, his heart skipping. Sasuke kept walking until their shoulders brushed against each other, stopping to lean over and whisper into Naruto’s ear, his breath warm against Naruto’s neck, “She was gorgeous.”
Naruto shivered lightly, and he turned his head toward Sasuke whose face was now only mere inches away. His warm breath hit Naruto’s lips gently and Naruto unconsciously licked his lower lip. The action drew Sasuke’s eyes downward, and Naruto’s stomach fluttered again.
“Yes,” Naruto breathed out lightly as his eyes followed the lines of Sasuke’s face from his dark eyes, down to his tempting lips and then his sculpted jawline. “Gorgeous.”
