Louis stands, in the middle of a clearing with his hands in his pockets, and stares. This boy—God, this gorgeous, gorgeous boy. He seems so clumsy, confused at the best of times, but there’s a wisdom about him as he speaks, a maturity that belies his age.
Louis is hopelessly, wildly attracted to him.
or, louis is a successful jockey down on his luck, struggling to get his life back on track after an injury. harry has a horse, a house fit for a prince, and a broken heart.
it takes them a while to figure out that they need each other.
friends with benefits has always been enough for louis. until, of course, it isn't.
Harry can agree that being husbands in space presents some challenges. Sometimes they have to escape mindless cannibals, sometimes they're being held hostage, sometimes Louis doesn't want Harry to get pregnant, and sometimes someone slips on a banana peel. But that's all part of the fun, isn't it? They could have been juggling geese.
(Firefly AU where Harry and Louis are co-pilots in life.)
Harry really didn't expect to be swept up in snowflakes and eyelashes and coy smiles when he'd agreed to go on a skiing holiday with his lads. Nor was he expecting to cherish the sound of someone's voice over his own thoughts, marveling about the way it crackled against the burning embers in the fireplace. And he really, really wasn't expecting for his peaceful life to be turned on its head, all because of a bloody snowboard.
But, then again, he also never expected that he could fall in love in less than two weeks, so. So maybe life isn't what Harry expected.
