Summary
Adam was…well. Adam was a lot of things, like tired, and furious, and still reeling from having to see the Winchesters again (it took them hours to even think about saying sorry -), but right now, Adam was mostly concerned.
They’d fled the Bunker, and Adam had been expecting Michael to try and fly them away immediately, but he’d barely stirred. As soon as they’d gotten out of the Winchesters’ sight, Michael had…well, collapsed was the only word. He’d disappeared into the back of their shared mind, the massive inferno of his presence retreating until it was something closer to a candle flickering in the distance. He’d responded when Adam had called his name, but not to do anything - just a little stir, enough for Adam to know he’d been heard but nothing more.
It wasn’t like Adam could blame him.

Adam’s daemon grew with him, thank God - Kate wasn’t sure how they would have handled it, if he’d settled with a fully grown mountain lion from the start instead of the long-limbed, loping cub that was forever climbing onto the dinner table and swiping things down that Adam wasn’t yet tall enough to reach.
...In truth sometimes she wasn’t sure why Eos had ended up as a mountain lion - it was the height of rudeness to ask, of course, and besides she had already heard Eos answer an unsettled peer’s question with a scornful, “Because it was right, obviously.” It had to be, or Eos wouldn’t have settled as it - but she did wonder why a big cat, of all things, for her quiet son who held lost birds in his hands.

There’s a hush of silence before enraged curses and roars fill the air, Michael instantly recognizing Adam’s voice even in his new chained state. Through blurry eyes, he sees Adam struggling to rise to his knees, every curse falling from his bloody mouth like a vengeful promise.
“I’m only gonna ask this once Michael.”
Gruff but still young, his Father upholding the facade of the young prophet that the archangel can’t even stand to look at anymore.
(There’s disgust, fury, but most of all, heartache because, for all that he was titled as such, God was never truly a Father.)
