“Then why have you stayed?” Wilbur isn’t sure what answer he’s expecting, but he knows the one he wants. He wants someone to care about him so forcefully and violently that he has no choice but to agree with them. A love so powerful it cancels out his own doubts.

Everyone else had murmured their agreement, except for Lance and Keith, who had shared a look before trying to discreetly scoot away from the other.
