(Based on my original universe unofficially known as Children Destrane)

So...Lilili_cat's "Hidden in Stagnant Pools" was so sad and depressing one of my OCs decided to commit cross-fandom character theft and this was born.

  2. Summary

Plant a Dragon's teeth and you can have an army of grown warriors, or so the legend said.

(Or: how the Hatake can either be born naturally or planted from a Hatake tooth, an offering of the flesh and the clan's White chakra.)

Alternatively known as that AU where the Hatake are actually Agricultural Experts and the Mokuton is an actual bloodline limit.

Will oscillate between humor and tragedy. Also full of (mostly Hatake) OCs alongside canon characters. I also don't take any of the pairings seriously, so some may not be to your taste.

    Read at your own risk.

    Summary

The first thing that goes wrong for Aether upon arriving in Liyue is that he gets accused of assassinating their god.

The second is what happens after telling the suspiciously non-human hooligan by the beach about it, who takes it less than well.

“So… that guy doesn’t actually own this place, does he?” Paimon, who has been too nervous to speak so far, finally asks.

“Not necessarily. Tartaglia just likes to place claims over things he likes.” Zhongli touches his red earring again; Aether’s about 80% sure he doesn’t do it on purpose. “He loves the seaside. The first genuine compliment he ever gave for my land was that the beaches were beautiful. I told him he was free to visit them as long as he behaved and didn’t make a mess.”

“And then he literally put his name on it?” Aether asks.

“Not immediately, no. Tartaglia has horrible Liyuen, and he’d been under contract to not tarnish my beaches. At the time, however, he’d been having Ganyu tutor him just enough so that he could write his own name, and I had been too impressed that he managed to do it properly to admonish him for vandalizing the landscape.” He pauses to look at his own name. “Well, his name and mine. When I saw that he added it, I assumed he’d just been showing off and told him to limit his tomfoolery to outside of further damaging my wildlife. He was not very pleased by that.”

Please don’t assume the length of their lives correlates with their emotional intelligence, Signora had said.

Maybe Aether, too, would be a bitter vampire lady if he had to deal with this for thousands of years.

“Gods are weird ,” Paimon whispers when Zhongli drifts off into his own world again.

    Summary

Childe's purpose in Liyue was to play the part of the fool in Signora's plans, all the while ensuring she didn't completely fuck it up.

Given her idea to "test the people of Liyue" was to release a sealed god on them and call it a day, for whatever reason believing this was an entirely reasonable benchmark to test independence on, Childe had a lot of preparations to do to keep the entire thing from collapsing in on itself like his mental stability in the abyss. Fortunately, there seemed to be enough pieces on the board for Childe to maybe possibly hopefully swing this in a way where everything worked out.

Now, if only they would stop leaving jobs like this to the blind guy.

"Wasn't that why you had the Fatui in Mondstat looking into bar tabs?" Tartaglia spoke between bouts of hearty laughter at his Tsaritsa’s tone. He was more than happy to let his body sway at the indulgence of openly mocking the 8th harbinger's fuck up. "But if he likes wine that much, maybe we can still mend that burned bridge with alcohol at some point."

"Hopefully." His Tsaritsa groaned. "What's done is done. We shall worry about appeasing Barbatos some other time. For now, there is the matter of Morax."

That got Tartaglia's attention. Morax, once God of War now God of Contracts. He just knew his eyes were lighting up at the prospect.

    "You don't mean-"

    "No, you're not fighting Morax."

    "But-"

"No, Tartaglia. I have personally invested quite a lot into you, so please don't run off into the wilds of Liyue manically screaming for Morax, gnosis and all, to fight you."

    "I would n-"

    "Don't lie to me."

    "Okay. Fine. But can I-"

"No calmly screaming for Morax to fight you, either."

There had only been a moment where he considered a plan to get rid of the thing, as soon as the thought crossed his mind Childe felt himself balk.

He wasn’t a good person and over the years he had done many bad things to get to where he was today, but getting rid of the egg when he had no idea whether it was alive or where it had come from was unthinkable.

It had come from him, for archons’ sakes, he’d given birth to it.

He wiped at the surface of the egg with the towel. Did it need to stay warm? Where was he going to hide it?

    One thing at a time.

Naruto frowns. “You’re one of them…”

“Kabuto said it,” Sasuke rasps. Everyone turns to look at him, but he’s staring straight ahead, staring at the wall, Karin’s hand in his own. “Similar. Anko said Konoha didn’t experiment on children, and he said they did, and he said ‘I am one of them’.”

Kakashi-sensei goes pale under his mask. “Sasuke,” he says, and he says it very cautiously. “You haven’t been…”

He shakes his head, just slightly. “No. So I don’t understand.”

Their teacher nods slowly. “Everyone, huddle in.” Sakura and Naruto exchange surprised glances, but dutifully approach his bed. Karin pulls Sasuke to his feet, and he sways and drops the sword with a clatter, but lets himself be pulled over. He manages to meet Kakashi-sensei’s gaze, even though he looks almost completely out of it, and their teacher sighs.

“There are factions here that I can’t explain,” he says. “Not because I don’t want to – but we don’t have the time. We don’t have the security. But you cannot trust everyone in Konoha.”

    Summary

Saying “it’s not that simple” is putting it lightly.

With “I’ll never let you go again” becoming the closest approximation to “I’ve always loved you,” and “I’ll figure it out” being the only promise convincing Vergil to come home…

Dante is determined to figure this all out: the complication of being half devils who could love no other in a human world, on top of having to explain to Nero what his true parentage is, and the fact that Vergil is pregnant again.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Dante may be foolish in Vergil’s eyes, but he was no real fool. Gritting his teeth, he put two and two together in horror, but found that the first thing he could point out in anger was: “You acted like you didn’t know Nero existed!”

    “…I didn’t.”

“How could you say that, when you are implying that he… that he came from… you abandoned him!”

“I can’t abandon what I didn’t know what exist, Dante.”

    “THAT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE.”

“I didn’t think the egg was going to hatch!” Vergil hissed back.

    And Dante’s mind skipped.

    “Egg…?”
