Buck bit down on his lip and simply stared at the girl beside him. He knew he had two choices; try to sympathize with her as an adult man and probably get nowhere, or tell her the truth. A sketchbook was different, Isabelle convinced herself as she let her palm rest flatly against the smooth leather. A sketchbook was for quick ideas; a place for Clary to put down on paper whatever was circulating around her head at night before she fell into deep dreams and lost them forever.
Which was exactly why her heart stopped when she finally turned to the first page.

This isn’t the first time Buck has tried to whisk Eddie away into a dark corner of the firehouse despite Eddie’s best efforts to keep her in check—in fact, it happens more than Eddie’s already high blood pressure can take—but this is the first time she’s been successful. Eddie would be more upset about it now if the rest of their squad wasn’t either asleep or upstairs in the loft area, far away from the little storage closet where Buck is feeling her up.

The door opens and Buck is standing there. He's wearing some black sweats and a grey t-shirt. His hair is messy and it looks like he only rolled out of bed not that long ago. Eddie wants to reach out. Wants to make sure he's really there.
Blue eyes go wide and his mouth drops open for a moment before his entire face shuts down. Expression covered by a mask he hasn't seen since his first day. He hates it. He deserves it.
"What are you doing here?" He says flatly.
