Summary
In which, in order to form an alliance, Keith and Shiro need to fake a relationship and endure a series of related trials.
This was a terrible idea. An excruciating, tantalizing car crash of an idea. Keith should never have agreed to this. It was everything he’d ever wanted and more. He was never going to be able to come back from this.
Careful metal fingertips traced his jaw, tipping his face up to meet gentle, storm grey eyes. He was close, so close. “Everything okay?” Shiro asked, quietly.
“Of course,” Keith said. "Everything is fine.”
It was a bald-faced lie; everything was not fine. It was wonderful and devastating and nowhere in between.

Summary
Keith’s pain is... is pain, in its most raw form. It is growls and screams, and the vision that turns white behind his eyelids, is the weak thrashing and sobs that cut through his head, through his heart. Keith’s pain is the blood on Shiro’s hands, so red, so bright that it almost looks fake, like they are on the set of a sci-fi movie, playing an action scene.
But this is not a movie, this is the reality. The Earth is light years away and Keith is in the room next to the one Shiro and the other Paladins are in, fighting between life and death.Bookmarked by thatcuriousgirl

Summary
“I don’t know,” he goes on. “Just in a bad mood I guess. It’ll be fine.”
Krolia frowns. “That is, as humans say, bullshit. You don’t have to tell me, Keith, but you can. You always can.”
Keith knows he can. At least, he knows it in his brain: she wants him to confide in her, wants to be there for him to make up for all the years she wasn’t. But there’s a part of him that doesn’t know how to tell her things, and this thing in particular—well. He doesn’t even know how he feels about it yet. He doesn’t know if it’ll make her worried or angry or what.
But she looks worried anyway, so Keith sighs. “It’s Dad,” he says, quiet, without looking at her. “Dad, he—he contacted me.”
