Summary
Attached is a picture of what might be a chicken fillet, curled up on Buck's bed, except—
"Is that a cat?" She angles her phone towards Eddie, who leans over, peering at it with her, looking at the image.
"So he doesn't text you full sentences either?" It's not a bone of contention between them, not really. Taylor sometimes just calls Buck so that he can tell her about his running thought process, rather than leave her trying to work out what it was his texts meant.
"His thumbs are too clunky for his phone sometimes, you know, when he gets excited about shit. But that isn't the point right now, Eddie." She enlarges the picture, zooming in on the chicken fillet and realising that yes, that is a hairless cat.
She texts back more question marks, throwing in a few exclamation points for emphasis.
---
Buck calls in sick one morning, leaving his team and girlfriend confused, until Taylor receives the news that Buck has become a father; a father to a cat who just gave birth to five kittens on his bed. What's a girl to do? -

Summary
“You mean, I wasn’t the first person you stole a firetruck for?” TK asks from across the tent, Buck turning to answer him and finally getting a look at Captain Strand and…
“Um, I—I mean, that is… I… technically, no?” He can feel his cheeks heating up, Eddie and Hen frowning at the fluster but, to be fair, they likely aren’t aware that he’s realising that TK’s dad was one of his hook-ups while he was working Abby out of his system but trying not to fall back into Buck 1.0 ways.
---
While in Texas, fighting the wildfires, Buck meets a familiar face from a while back, leading to some semi-awkward reveals in the post-helicopter crash rescue. Just as well everyone is an adult, right? -

Summary
“You remember the last time we were here?” Evan asks lightly, although it was hardly the happiest occasion for them all, “You had to fix my tie then too.”
“Sure,” Maddie laughs at the memory, remembering how Evan tugged at his collar constantly, leaving his tie off-centre constantly, “I didn’t have to reach up back then, though.” He rolls his eyes at her teasing, but they both know his final growth spurt didn’t hit until right before he was seventeen and left him outgrowing all his pants. “You still look as handsome as ever.”

Maddie and Evan repeat an experience with entirely different feelings for the whole thing, and a family reunion they never expected.Part 6 of Buckley Siblings Week

Summary
“I called mom and dad,” Maddie blurts out suddenly, mid-pace. Usually, it’s not even a thought, calling their parents. But they were in Los Angeles for Jee-Yun’s birthday three days ago, and they weren’t flying out for another four days. Not that they’ve made the effort to see them or anything, they’re merely in the same city. “I called them while the doctor saw Jee and you were getting the scan on your ribs.” Which was over an hour ago.
“Okay, so—So you called them to let them know we’re probably not up for dinner tomorrow, right?” That’s the only reason Buck can think of. Knowing their parents, they’ll change the reservation to a meal for two and leave them be.
“I told them the three of us were in an accident, that we were going to the hospital.” Buck is aware he’s staring, but he’s pretty sure his sister hit her head harder than they’d first thought.

Buck and Maddie discover that it's okay not to rely on their parents. They don't need to.Part 5 of Buckley Siblings Week

Summary
"What are you doing?" Chimney stops glaring at his own phone, trying to snatch at Buck's. "Don't bother her."
"Chim," leaning back, Buck moved his phone more towards Eddie to keep it away from Chimney, "it's literally a text message, chill out." Bother her. Like he couldn't message his own damn sister. Buck makes a point of aggressively sending the message. "What is your damage?"

What if Buck didn't accept that Maddie was 'fine', what if Buck pushed the issue?Canon divergence from Desperate Times; not overly kind to Chimney.
