    Summary

Neil is a successful author with a stalker who seems to know a little too much about his past. He needs a bodyguard for his upcoming book tour. Enter: Andrew Minyard.

I've marked this as Graphic Descriptions of Violence out of an abundance of caution, but I don't even come near the source material here.

“Kevin Day told me about you.” The corners of Neil’s mouth lift the barest degree. It should be an unassuming, polite smile. Should be.

Andrew isn’t convinced. He hums and leans back in his seat. “You know Kevin.”

“We go way back,” Neil explains. He’s not giving any signs that indicate he’s lying, but still. Kevin usually holds his liquor better than he holds his secrets but Andrew thought he knew everyone Kevin has known since Palmetto State and he’d remember if this guy had been in the Nest.

“He’s never mentioned you,” Andrew says.

“I rarely mention him,” Neil replies easily.

Such a Fool for Sacrifice by likearecord is a brilliant read. Andrew and Neil meet when Neil requires a bodyguard for his book tour. It's an AU that doesn't really involve exy, but likeareacord writes a really compelling and interesting story. I love the chemistry between Neil and Andrew, and how everything is both the same and different. There are definite road trip vibes. It's fluffy, but mind the tags.

    Summary

Death touches everyone but it’s reached into them more intimately than most. Neither can go back to the way things were, there is no forward momentum that they can register. Still, they put themselves back together in increments.

Or the one where Superman finds a boy crawling out of his grave a little too soon after he’s done it himself.

This Time Around by Camlann is a brilliant read. This fic shows an interesting possibility of what could become of Jason post ressurection if Clark had found him. It follows Clark and Jason as they come to terms with returning to life. The story is told form Clark's point of view and it's quite an introspective read, but I really enjoyed the bonding between Clark and Jason. Bruce and the bat family are just <3.

    Summary

Change is a hard thing for people to grasp, even when they’re billionaire vigilantes and reanimated pseudo-criminals.

Going from parent and child to zombie-son-left-unavenged and shitty-father-figure was rough, and trying to find even ground after Bruce and Jason had been so fundamentally changed by Jason’s death had been almost impossible.

But after a year of improved communication, rooftop tacos, and the foiling of a terrorist attack, they find a new normal for taking care of each other.

Any Which Way by whaleofatime is a really gorgeous read. At its heart it is about Jason and Bruce finding a new normal in their relationship. I love the way whaleofatime writes the relationship between Jason and Bruce, and how they slowly make their way towards each other. It's just a delight to read.

Aaron & Katelyn have been too busy with their internships at the hospital to visit anyone, but Andrew and Neil just bought a house and they took a few days off to help them move. Fluff and introspection ensue.

We Sat on Our Own Star and Dreamed by fuzzballsheltiepants is a really lovely read. It's told from Aaron's point of view. The premise is simple, but fuzzballsheltiepants does a brilliant job making it feel so full/complete: Andrew and Neil are moving into a new house, Aaron and Katelyn go to help them move. There are a lot of lovely moments in this.

Blame this on the quarantine, which has me retwaching SoA and remembering how much I loved Juice and how much better he deserved.

So I gave him a love story with someone who also deserves better.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I always wondered how far we could go if we could break through the ceiling above us is an interesting series by voices_in_my_head. It's a DCU/Sons of Anarchy mash-up that focuses on Jason Todd and Juice Ortiz. The two stories in the series so far are heavily focused on Juice and Jason's realtionship, which is one of the things I most like about the series. So far the stories have been based more in the Sons of Anarchy sphere, though another DCU character has made an appearance in the second story. I'm looking forward to discovering more about this world. If you're looking for something a little different then give this a try.
