Viktor Nikiforov, Niki to his closest friends- well, closest friend, singular, prefers to keep his nose clean.
He's not the type to hold a strong presence in the room, or even dominate the conversation. He's quiet, and mindful. And would really just like to finish out the rest of his college career in peace.
So it's no question that his unwavering, slightly over-the-top infatuation with one Yuuri Katsuki is a bit of a problem.
.. being that Yuuri Katsuki is the guy on campus everyone either wants to be, bang, or just generally know and be on good terms with.
He's the life of the party. The center of fun. The prime source of the juciest rumors and stories stringing about from dorm room to dorm room. And he's so far out of Viktor's league that Viktor isn't even sure himself what league Yuuri lands in. One of his own, surely.
So what happens when Yuuri asks Viktor's closest friend where 'that cute guy you're always hanging out with' is one night, at an annual get together?
Planetary dysfunction. That's what.
Cas hasn't exactly had an easy life.
There's no point in sugarcoating it, or beating around the bush.
It's been a shitty ride; a really, absolutely, shitty ride.
And while it may seem as though he's constantly being ambushed from every possible angle, in every possible way- like the world is out to get him specifically, one thing remains to be a constant, unwavering same:
Occasionally getting hit on while working the door at any bar or club is par for course.
Getting hit on while working the door of a gay club is far more likely.
But getting hit on working the door of a gay club Pride weekend?
So you can understand why, when Yuuri's suddenly met with the literal brightest blue eyes he has ever seen, in his entire life, he's a little stunned by the reaction his body has to them.
The guy standing within arms reach.
Not that Dean was expecting the summer vacation before his freshman year of college to be boring or anything, but practically kicking it off with an exclusive, highly coveted and sought after invite to none other than Cas Novak's Farewell To High School party, is a little unexpected.
If not entirely out of the blue.
No pun intended. Heh.
Because man, does Cas Novak have the prettiest blue eyes Dean has ever seen. What he wouldn't give to-
Oh, right. The party.
He's really f*cking excited to go.
"Stop moving," Yuuri hisses.
"I'm not moving," Viktor hisses right back, causing Yuuri to roll his eyes.
"Yes, you are," he says, adjusting himself to the best of his ability so as to accommodate Viktor's incessant shifting. "Or I wouldn't have told you not to."
"Whatever," Viktor breathes, then, without missing a beat, "Go out with me."
