Taako and Lup's story ends hundreds of years later, but that's not where it begins. It begins at age eleven, at their parents funeral, being gossiped about by all of their relatives.
It begins with a Twin Smush.
“Ladybug, I still love you. I’m sorry, shit, that’s not what you want to hear.” He pulled his hand away, swung his legs back onto the roof and paced away. Practically on its own, her hand slid up to the place his had just been on her back. She winced, and got up after him.
“Chat, please don’t leave.” He didn’t turn around. Ladybug wrapped her arms around herself tightly. “I don’t want to be alone, you were right, I need you.”
“God!” He kicked something across the roof, and it made a loud skittering. It might have been a rock, or something. Ladybug squeezed her eyes shut. “You can’t say that. I can’t hear that. I just can’t anymore.”
“Beck, Beck, Jonah- OH!” He gasped. “Yes, yes, yeah, I remember now. Shit, I feel bad, it hasn’t even been that long since I last saw him at, uhh, yeah, at my college graduation.”
“Eh, it’s been pretty long.”
“You think six years is a lot, then?”
TJ made a face, kicking his leg in the general direction of Cyrus’ head. “I hate you.”
or, Cyrus reaches out to old friends.
Evan didn't mean to let his mental health get so dodgy.
Evan didn't mean to let his letter give the impression that he wasn't doing all that well.
Evan didn't mean to let Connor read aforementioned letter.
And he sure as hell didn't mean for them to become friends.
But it is what it is, as they say, and if there are bumps along the way, they'll soon seem no more than a passing blur.
“Oh, I’m gonna be your bruise..” And….and this was it. There was no more putting it off, no more delaying, no more waiting around in fits of anxiety and worry. He was close enough now that he didn’t have to move his body in the slightest, just a subtle turn of the head, and then- boom, there it would be. He would be kissing a boy. On a stage. In front of an audience.
