    Peter was a normal kid.



    Or, that’s what he liked to believe.



    That’s what he told himself, even as his mother performed impossible feats with a wave of a stick, even as the roaches turned to fruit in his moments of desperation.



    But really, even without those odd occurrences, he knew he wouldn’t ever be an ordinary child.

     

     

     


    Because, as a matter of fact, he really wasn’t a child at all.
     


    He could remember a life as a ‘Muggle’, working part time in a convenience store, going to theatres (in colour!) with his old family.



    And when all was said and all was done, he knew he’d never be able to live as others do.

    A divergence in the series wherein Kaeya, before he can leave Mondstadt, overhears the knights talking about an expedition Jean and Lisa have left for with unusual haste. An Abyss stronghold is experimenting with one of the more forbidden arts: necromancy. But the damning piece of evidence that sets his heart racing is the knowledge that Crepus Ragnvindr's grave has been disturbed.

    Diluc loses his brother and regains his father in the course of three horrid days. Kaeya is determined to keep his distance, thinking he is no longer part of their family, and it's Diluc's fault. But Kaeya can't find the strength to truly leave, longing for what once was. Can Crepus and Diluc convince him he belongs with them? Before they burn through more various household decor, at least?

    (You thought one Ragnvindr raging over Kaeya disappearing was bad, imagine two.)
