Summary
“We need to talk.”
He doesn’t answer, just stays still, lets his foot come to rest against the ground again, solid and assuring even though nothing else is. He feels Dick move, hears his steps as he rounds the bed, and he wants to scoot further away, but he stays still, let’s the tiger shudder against his arms, safe from sight in his sleeves, drags in a deep inhale slow and steady, knowing Dick is watching it—is always watching.
“Gar, we,” he trails off, exhales sharply, inhales just as deep. “When I say to do something, it’s to—I’m trying to,” he stops again, purses his lips. “It’s to keep you guys safe. You’re not ready yet, and I don’t—why did you guys do it? Why didn’t you talk him out of it?”

Summary
“I thought,” she starts, “I thought it had absolute control.”
He looks down at the body, feels his knees give, and he thinks he’s just going to lay down for a second next to Billy, just for a second. He thinks they're both done right now, maybe more so than anyone thinks. “Yeah, well,” he coughs, feeling suddenly so weak, and he thinks he’s feeling the tears now, turning to look over at dull blue eyes, missing their usual hypnotic magic, “you don’t know Billy.” He reaches out, places a hand on his chest and feels the soft thumping. “He’s kind of a fighter.”

Summary
High school reunions are shams, he's convinced, and he has no intention of ever going to one again. But then Dustin calls, and then Max talks, and then he's getting in his car, palms slick from sweat and heart pounding at the knowledge that it's been a decade and he's going to see Billy fucking Hargrove again.
It's not exactly how he wanted to spend some of his vacation days.

Summary
They're two big personalities trying to coexist in a relationship. Arguments—they're second nature to them. It's bound to happen, and, if Steve's being honest, it's more of a case of pent up energy and the closest target is almost always each other.
OR
In which, neither Steve or Billy are stellar at communicating, and sometimes their fights are more insightful than they could ever know.

Summary
Curiosity killed the cat—
Dark skies, crackling in the air, a shriek that echoes in the air.
He doesn't think, doesn't breathe, keeps his eyes trained to the crack under the door, his fingers tight around his weapon. He thinks of flaming hair, of warm brown eyes, of strong fingers and rough palms. He thinks of false warmth and biting cold. He thinks about how he can't really feel his feet and how he's fairly certain he has lost feeling in his fingers. He thinks of white hot rage and nauseating regret. He thinks of panicked, awe-filled eyes and the crunch of snow under his feet as he wishes it was sand.
He thinks of doing better.
—But satisfaction brought it back.
OR
In which Billy does his best to change while simultaneously having his world turned upside down.
