    Summary

It all started with a diary.

Six years of unrequited love for a monster.
    . . .

"Who is it?" Voldemort demanded imperiously, his scarlet eyes narrowing into indiscernible slits. "You will tell me, and he will be dead before midnight—"

"You fool," Harry gasped brokenly, before breaking out in mirthless laughter. "You would kill yourself?"
    . . .

    Slow suffocation never tasted sweeter.

    Summary

Distantly, as though he’s talking to Billy from another room, Steve says, “Are you crying?”

“Fuck off,” he says pathetically. “It’s my—it’s my—I get fucking allergies.”

He scrubs his fists over his eyes; he can’t look Steve in the face, he can’t cry.

“It’s okay to cry,” Steve says; Billy can hear him take a step closer. Can hear him breathing, wet, ragged breaths that are just audible over the whine of cicadas in the trees. “I cry all the time.”

Billy makes a disparaging noise. Sinking to his knees, curling his spine into the shape of a clenched fist; seeking the shade of the cars, retreating in fear of the light, the sound. He doesn’t want to hurt Steve, but he will if Steve forces him to. He’ll have to. It’s the only way he can get through this.

“No, really,” Steve’s voice says. “It’s okay, Billy.”

It’s not, Billy thinks, eyes still closed. It won’t ever be okay. It’s wrong. I’m wrong.

    Summary

It’s been almost half a year since the night at the Byers’ house, since Hargrove beat his face to a pulp, since the dogs and the tunnels and the fire, but there’s something in Steve that’s still (stuck) there in the November darkness, waiting for something big and violent and full of teeth to close the brackets, finish what it started. Sometimes he thinks about the thing the kids called the Mindflayer, bigger and hungrier than the dogs. More often he thinks about Billy Hargrove, stronger than him, hungrier than him. The way Steve could see all his teeth as Hargrove knocked the shit out of him.

    They haven’t spoken, since.

(steve's an unreliable narrator, billy's just unreliable, and the universe is sick and tired of both of them)

literally lyrical. the dynamics and character constructions are so fascinating to read, especially the dream-like way steve’s pov is written. it aches of clinical depression and characterises it wonderfully

    can’t wait to read more
