And if it was hard for Kara not to stare at Cat before it’s impossible now, now that she knows Cat wants her to stare, is staring at her too.
It feels like a dream, like she’s still high from the fumes, and Kara pinches her impenetrable skin under her desk, checking if she actually woke up. It’s her idea, that they don’t need to tell everyone they’re dating right away, and Cat is fine with it when she suggests it. The email scandal is too fresh—it would look terrible for Cat to be dating her former assistant on top of that.
Kara and Cat start dating and don't tell anyone, and this is possibly not the best idea. Also featuring Danvers sisters, and games nights, and specific nerdy stuff!

Brendan likes to talk about the journey you took together through Hoenn, but all you can think about is: you were in the Cave of Origin, and he wasn’t. You were in space, on a Lord, battling an alien.
(An alternate look at why May might rise to be the strongest trainer in the region so quickly--an anxiety disorder--and given that, the aftermath.)

“If you did play chess," Ross said, "you’d remember that a pawn can become a queen. The most powerful piece on the board, Parker, remember that? But—” Ross smiled— “only if it obeys.”
He adjusted his tie, stood, and looked down at Peter. “I’ll ask you again,” he said. “Eventually. You may feel differently after you’ve been living in a six-by-six cube without sunlight or fresh air for a few years.”
“What pawns do,” Peter said, voice shaking slightly, “is sacrifice themselves for the greater good. I have no regrets.”
He had a lot of regrets.
Like, a lot. A crapton. A shitload. An overloaded dumpsterful.
“When I visit you on the Raft,” Ross said, “you’ll be old enough to grow a beard.” The cell door clicked shut behind him.

Water into wine,” Prudence snorts, “like it’s hard.”
“Like it’s some kind of miracle,” Agatha sneers.
“Like we don’t have more power in one finger than the false god’s followers have in their entire book of lies,” Dorcas says reverently.
“Well to be fair,” Sabrina says, in the same solemn tone, “the cup is doing most of the work.”
Still, the bedroom door’s been opened, the covers pulled back, the familiar weight dipped onto the edge of the bed, before Sabrina can pull together the effort needed to raise a hand, and scrub at her eyes.
“You wouldn’t call it romantic?” Sabrina asks, warming to the theme even though, to be honest, she hadn’t really meant much by using the word in the first place, apart from a general desire to get under Prudence’s skin. “The two of us, alone, out under the light of the harvest moon, when you’ve spent the whole witching hour planting flowers around my house while I slept.”
Before Prudence can worry what she’s letting show on her face (nothing, it should be nothing, she hopes it's nothing), Sabrina is laughing and extending the spoon out to Prudence.
“Sorry, sorry, got carried away,” Sabrina says. “Want some?”
“Disgusting,” Prudence says loftily.
“It is not,” Sabrina says, offended. “What, worried about salmonella? Raw egg,” she adds, at the look on Prudence’s face. “It can make mortals sick.”
“Of course it can,” Prudence says, taking the spoon from Sabrina’s hand and tracing a slow rune into the batter left in the bowl of the wooden spoon. “There’s almost nothing that doesn’t, praise Satan.”
