Summary
Slime is a 34-year-old world record speed-runner turned small-town farmer. For Slime, the hardest part of being a farmer isn't the early mornings, the backbreaking work, or cleaning up animal shit. It's the mortifying ordeal of being known. After spending his whole life as a shut-in with only his coworkers who he hated for irl friends, Slime is in way over his head dealing with all this interpersonal drama. Why do all of his friends want to fuck him??
The main focus is on Shane and Slime's relationship, and on Slime's battle with his internalized homophobia/transphobia.

Namely, his reaction to pain.
Removing his memories of the Death Note made Light a masochist. L tests this hypothesis.

He stills, his mind weighed down by something incomprehensible.
Above all else, he knows what he wants: another victory, sweet like dessert. A different type of sweetness that L could never comprehend. All he needs is this one last high, the sweet taste of grim victory, before L becomes nothing but hollow bone and clothes.
Dessert is meant to be savored, but he can’t waste any time if he wants to avoid being caught.
