“Just because you’re on the opposite side of the country doesn’t mean that I’m leaving you,” he re-iterated.
Oikawa felt the warmth of Iwaizumi’s breath fan out across his cheeks when he spoke. Maybe it was the words, or maybe it was just Iwaizumi himself, but he relaxed slightly, tension dissipating from his shoulders. He slid his hands down the length of Iwaizumi's torso, gripping his waist tightly on either side instead.
“But I’m the one leaving you, not the other way around, remember?” Oikawa smiled, biting his bottom lip cheekily.
“You’re such a shit,” Iwaizumi said, but the harshness of his words were masked by the smile on his face. “I bet you won’t even miss me with all that attention you’ll get from the new girls at your school,” he added.
“That’s not true,” Oikawa shook his head in denial. “You know the only person I care about is Iwa-chan.”
Iwaizumi watched him silently for a few moments before he slid his hands around Oikawa's head, interlocking his fingers behind Oikawa's neck. “Don’t say things you don’t mean,” he said quietly, pulling their faces closer together until it wasn’t only their foreheads touching, but their noses too.

Until they're walking home from afternoon practice together about a week later. Hajime's hands are shoved into the pockets of his volleyball club zip-up, and he's very focused on not looking at Oikawa. It's the time of year that the sun starts setting when they get out of practice and looking at Oikawa with the pink-orange light reflected in his eyes and shining off his hair is not something Hajime thinks he can survive.
"So," Oikawa starts. Hajime can tell he's trying to sound casual, which means he doesn't feel casual at all. Hajime hates that he knows this by hearing a single word. "How's progress with your secret crush?"
In which Iwaizumi accidentally, indirectly tells his best friend he's in love with him.
' "Okay, I know it was basically not really a secret, but… you know you could've told me, right? But doing it this way is great, like an extra Christmas gift!"
"Y-yeah," Hinata said. "W-wait, Bokuto-san, what do you mean it wasn't really a secret?"
"Uh, well, we just kind of assumed?" Bokuto asked, releasing him. He scratched his head, glancing back at Kuroo, who shrugged. "You guys have been dating since, like, high school. Right?"
Hinata's mouth fell open. "We have?!" he squeaked, at the same time that Kageyama repeated, "High school?" '
Kageyama and Hinata try to fool all their friends into believing they're dating. The problem is, everybody already thought they had been for years.
"If anything, Yuuri could console himself with the fact that his husband remembered him most of the time and that he still cared about Yuuri in his own way, when he did."
Yuuri wakes up in Detroit after going to bed under heavy stress and emotional turmoil due to Victor's declining mental health. Things are different. He's dreaming obviously. And in dreams, people can do what they want.
So Yuuri decides to do what he wants. If only he could have accepted this new reality. Then the realization wouldn't hurt so much later on. But ignorance keeps the pain of reality away.
