Summary
A catch-all for short ficlets, largely centering on yet another OFC in the Pandë!verse, namely Culinen (referenced in various fics, including The Elendilmir and The Writhen Pool), who eventually becomes the master of the Guild of the Heart (healers' guild) in Ost-in-Edhil, and who contributes to the "eldritch alleles" of J. Robert Oppenheimer, Hypatia of Alexandria, and Hedy Lamarr (among others!) in the alternative history of the Pandë!verse.
Ratings will be given per chapter.

Into this wild abyss the wary fiend
Stood on the brink of Hell and look'd a while,
Pondering his voyage; for no narrow firth
He had to cross.

Summary:
Tyelperinquar/Tyelpo (Celebrimbor) and Aulendil (Annatar/Sauron) discuss brotherhood and the secret of the deep arts on an early summer evening in Ost-in-Edhil.
This fic, told from Celebrimbor's point of view, predates The Apprentice by about 240 years, give or take, but it's the same setting. Rating is Teen due to a touch of horror-lite.

Three scientists discuss technology and responsibility in the Jornada del Muerto Valley on July 19, 1945.
This is the foundation of what burgeoned into the alternative history of the Pandë!verse. Although the story is not allegorical, it is perhaps applicable.Rated Adult for expletive language.

Summary
Melkor was more interested in and capable of dealing with a volcanic eruption, for example, than with (say) a tree. It is indeed probable that he was simply unaware of the minor or more delicate productions of Yavanna: such as small flowers.

Summary
An ambitious young Noldorin man of Ost-in-Edhil lands a coveted appointment as an apprentice to the most skilled master smith of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain: Istyar Aulendil. The apprentice's mentor, a prodigy of the Aulënossë, has been sent to Middle-earth by the Valar and has knowledge of exotic and wondrous technology. Istyar Aulendil also has notoriously high standards. The apprentice must meet his mentor's expectations if he is to become a journeyman and work on an important new initiative.
Adult rating is given for mature references , but in particular for examination of a mortal man's disturbed thoughts and sexual predilections: non-consensual sex and pederasty are commented upon in Chapters 7 & 9, but there are no explicit descriptions of such. The Adult rating is also given for some violent imagery in Chapter 12. As for the alternative history and my abiding affection for "scientifiction," well, forewarned is forearmed.

Summary
After a celebration in Tavrobel in the famous House of a Hundred Chimneys, Gilfanon, one of the oldest of the Elves, proposes that he, Glorfindel, and Elrond journey to the fabled Rock of Omar in the middle of the great desert of Valinor, where it is said that the Rock sings the echoes of the Ainulindalë and of lost life and love. Glorfindel procures a fabulous coach with most unusual beasts to draw it, and so the three fellows set off for an adventure in the desert where they meet Teleri who have embraced the desert and encounter a cagey Vanyarin ascetic who guides them to the Rock of Omar.
Winner, First Place, Adventure, MEFA 2010
Written for the Probably AU GenFic Swap. Prompts were "Elrond" (Lackam/Amber) and "a desert in Valinor" (Darth Fingon).
Rated PG-13 for substance abuse; those with arachnophobia are strongly cautioned that creatures of the eight-legged variety make pivotal appearances in this story. References pertaining to obscure canon characters may be found in End Notes.
Special thanks to Aeärwen2, Dawn Felagund, Drummerwench, Oshun, Randy_O, Russandol, Hallbera and Surgical Steel for comments, grooming and nit-picking.

Story by pandemonium_213: The grisly banner having served its purpose, Sauron enlists the assistance of his soldiers and bodyguard to bear Celebrimbor's corpse to its final resting place in the foothills of the Misty Mountains while a snowstorm approaches from the southwest.
Note: Descriptions of torture and a deteriorating corpse may be too intense for some readers (roughly equivalent to MPAA R-rating or TV Ratings Mature Audience); some expletive language. Pandë!versecentric.

Summary
Sauron recounts his discovery of the fell beasts to Finrod, who visits the former Dark Lord during his imprisonment in the Halls of Mandos, in a tale of adventure and a bit of the macabre.
Pandë!verse-centric. A little gory, some coarse language, mild sexual references.
Chapter 2 added. Over tankards of ale, served in the replica of a familiar inn, Sauron continues his tale to Finrod: his instructions to the Lord of the Nazgûl (who receives a disagreeable task); his uncertainties concerning the wisdom of leaving Mordor; and his journey to Layla’s homeland, where the Forbidden Valley lies.

Summary
In HoMe XI, The War of the Jewels, Tolkien wrote the following of the tale of the Awakening of the Elves by Cuiviénen,: "Actually written (in style and simple notions) to be a surviving Elvish 'fairytale' or child s tale, mingled with counting-lore."
Clearly, this leaves room for alternative origin stories. This sequel of sorts to "Ulmo's Wife" is one.
Written for Grey Gazania's birthday.
