Shouto is in love with his best friend. But he doesn't quite figure that out for a while.“Me? Nervous? It’s like you don’t know me, bud.” Katsuki slung an arm around Shouto’s shoulder and ruffled his hair. Shouto was much taller now but he always did feel like a little kid in Katsuki’s arms. “If anything, you’re more nervous than me.”
“I can’t help it. Football gives me anxiety.” Shouto tries to shrug off Katsuki’s arm but it’s half-hearted at best. In reality, he wants to stay close to Katsuki as much as possible before warm ups. “And I’m here to make sure you don’t get hurt, idiot.”
“I won’t get hurt.” Katsuki said with a proud puff of his chest. He looks down to give Shouto a cheeky little wink. “Don’t you know? I’m invincible.”

Shouto dreams of being in the K-9 unit and signs up with his tiny rescue dog Dynamite.“Are you thinking of trying out for the K-9 unit this year, Todoroki?” Denki, one of his best friends in the force, asked after their morning briefing. He sits at Shouto’s desk, taking one of Shouto’s fidget spinners and fiddling with it himself. Shouto sighed, shaking his head no.
Denki frowned. “Why not? Didn’t you just adopt a dog?”
“K-9’s used for the K-9 unit must be top of the line search and rescue dogs, trained specifically for this line of work. A single German shepherd is a million yen alone.” Shouto would know this. He’s spent years researching about dogs he could get for the unit. German Shepherds have the best olfactory senses and are the preferred dogs for the job.
“It doesn’t say anything in the actual guidelines that you need a German Shepherd. It can be any dog trained specifically for search and rescue.”
