He loses track of how long they stand there, kissing, the rain falling down around them, their bodies pressed so close together not even the Force could tear them apart. Like it would dare to even try. She cups his face in her hands, pushes the wet hair out of his eyes.
Her fingertips tracing the rough-hewn lines of his face set fire to his veins.
“Ben…” she murmurs, hesitating.
He hears the question in the words she doesn’t say.
“If you want me to be,” he whispers back.

"It’s when he smiles.
She’s never seen it before, and it pauses her in mid-conversation with Finn.
His lips—the ones that are always trembling or too red or too full—part and he has teeth. Of course he has teeth, but she’d never seen them. She tries to remember the forest. Maybe he had teeth then.
But as one of the pilots tells a story, Rey watches across the mess hall as the rest of them laugh and snort their caf and wipe tears of laughter from their eyes—and Ben Solo smiles."
In which defector Ben Solo is getting comfortable in the Resistance, and Rey realizes she likes to see him smile.
Han catches sight of her first. He climbs the next six steps with eyes on her, like he’s approaching a stray cat.
“Rey,” he says. “This is my son, Ben.” Her eyes flicker to Kylo Ren, face pink, eyes wet, and gaze intent on her. Then back to Han. “He’s coming home.”
Ben goes with Han. And Rey isn't happy about it.

While out on a mission, Rey is taken by a bounty hunter who doesn’t know she’s the last Jedi, because Rey gives her last name as ‘Solo’.
The new Supreme Leader is made aware, and is very curious to know why Rey’s giving his old last name as hers.

“What’s all this for?” Rey asks, “Some important article ‘millennials like me won’t bother reading’?”
Ben snorts. “Nothing more important than that hard-hitting article of yours from last week. What was the title again? ‘17 Reasons Democratic Candidate Kylo Ren Should Step On Me’? Mm, important work.”
“Aw, Ben, I had no idea you read my articles."
Just as Rey's decided to give up on love, she gets partnered to co-write Valentine's themed articles with the office grump, who... maybe isn't such a grump.
