    Summary

There’s a battle strategy devised by humans many millennia ago that's designed to overcome an adversary who is particularly well entrenched. Some walls are too tall and thick for a frontal assault, and must instead be bested through sheer dogged stubbornness.

Crowley and Aziraphale didn’t know it, but they were about to be put under siege.

Fed up with an angel and a demon who are still avoiding any talk of Feelings, God starts to interfere. When it comes to the ineffable plan, sometimes things need a bit of a push.

    Summary

Crowley had time to take in three things when he opened the door to Aziraphale’s bookshop. First, that Hastur had not gotten any less revolting since the last time Crowley had seen him. Second, that their body swapping stunt hadn’t bought anywhere near as much time as he’d expected. Third, that the splash of water flying towards his face was very unlikely to have come from the local duck pond.

Crowley is in danger, and Aziraphale showcases his 'righteous fury' side

    Summary

Three weeks ago he’d been utterly convinced that everything would change. Sitting across from Aziraphale at the Ritz, and watching the angel’s giddy smile and lose posture and the way his eyes lit up as he spoke, Crowley had been sure—completely sure—that they were finally going to take the leap. That they were ready to acknowledge the thing they’d been delicately side-stepping for six thousand bloody years.

    And then nothing had changed.

    Summary

Crowley lay back down, made an effort of will, and unfolded his wings. Black feathers stretched out to their full span before he brought them down to rest, one wing over the back of the couch and the other trailing off the edge to the floor. He hummed, revelling in the lose muscles, and closed his eyes. He was close to drifting off when he noticed that he couldn’t hear the sound of Aziraphale turning pages any longer. Curious, he looked up.

The angel had his chin resting on his hand, staring at Crowley. The book was lying closed on his knees.

Crowley’s heart lurched, a little jolt of feeling that he still wasn’t used to. “Angel?”

    Summary

For an entity for whom size and shape were merely options, Crowley had become awfully preoccupied with distance lately. Currently, he was studying the scant handful of inches that Aziraphale had left between them when the angel plonked himself down on his patterned sofa. Not on the armchair. Not even at the other end of the sofa. Right there, one cushion over.
