After deciding to leave his home for good, Wei Ying finds himself getting a job inside the walls of Gusu’s palace, where the royal family lives. He would never be able to predict that he’d be so interested in a certain prince. And he’d never be able to predict just where that interest takes them.

Jingyi, whose bow had clinked with the coins he’d collected, says gleefully, “I can’t believe you fought Hanguang Jun on the street!”
Wei Wuxian taps his nose and says, “I can’t believe Hanguang Jun didn’t let me win.”
(In which Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan exhibit themselves as a tourist attraction in Yueyang, then find out they already were.)
AU in which Nie Huaisang and Jin Guangyao work together to take down Jin Guangshan from the beginning.
Or: the story in which Nie Huaisang just wants to paint fans and feed birds and he doesn't understand why this is so much to ask.

Lan Wangji had long since stopped thinking of Wei Wuxian's body as Mo Xuanyu's. He grew used to all the ways it was different and the same from the last. But slowly, surely, now that they were comfortable, Wei Wuxian's face had begun to change again. The lines of his jaw became a slightly smudged drawing. Not all together unfamiliar, just enough that Lan Wangji second-guessed his own memory. There was one night Lan Wangji came home to find Wei Wuxian's eyes had changed color. He woke one morning and was taller, his silhouette stretching and growing like a shadow cast against the wall.
His smile was the same. The way he pouted, and slept in, the way he kissed. His terrible jokes. Lan Wangji would get used to a new face too if the husband was still the same.
Or, the one where Wei Wuxian's face begins to change to look like his original body. It isn't easy on anyone. But it isn't so bad, either.

"That Mo Xuanyu," Jingyi grumbled, "I don't like him. He has the thickest face. And he's dishonest, too - he's no more of a lunatic than I am. So why does he keep pretending anyhow?"
Sizhui hummed his acknowledgement. The way their new guest's moods could shift from shrillness to stunned stillness seemed something other than lunacy to him too. "Hanguang-jun trusts him," he said, when the silence between them made it clear Jingyi desired more conversation.
"I know." It was, apparently, a source of deep frustration for him. "I just can't understand why."
The summer they meet Senior Mo, Sizhui breaks the rules against gossiping more than once.
