Summary
Within dwarven culture, both sexes use a masculine identity as both have facial hair, dress alike, wear heavy boots, etc. Male dwarves, who have penises and testicles, are referred to as dwarrows, and female dwarves, who have breasts and vaginas, are referred to as bearers. If a bearer has a child, they drop their masculine identity and adopt their feminine identity and are referered to as a dwarrowdam. This is the reason many other kinds assume most, if not all dwarves, are male. They are mistaken. Within the company of Thorin Oakenshield, ten of the thirteen are dwarrows and three are bearers.

Summary
For a prompt.
The holidays are fast approaching, and Thorin's been dreading them, now that it's just him and his nephews. Harder still given that Fili still barely speaks and hasn't really since Dis died.
So when Kili drags them into the bookstore to look for children's literature author Mr. Baggins' new book, and they find the author himself reading his latest, Thorin isn't expecting anything beyond maybe making his nephews a little happier.
He certainly isn't expecting to find something for himself but he may have done just that.
