Pre-Island Oliver acts like the exact type of aromantic heterosexual young man that society is extremely prejudiced against, and his “fear of commitment” where he doesn’t want to move in with Laurel at age 24 and potentially is self-sabotaging his relationship when he invites Sara to join him on the trip is fun for me to interpret as not “immaturity” or not that he just “hadn’t met the right woman”, I prefer to think that he just isn’t alloromantic and he loved Laurel, and he later loved Felicity, and maybe a few other women in his life too, but while they loved him with full romantic love and he felt that love from them and was grateful for it, he was also overwhelmed by it and for him, really he loved them the same way he loves close friends or family members. I see him as going through the motions of romantic actions, both before and after his trauma...

This headcanon is fairly common. This OFTEN means that many viewers, especially viewers who are aro and/or ace like myself (I'm aro-spectrum-ish and 100% asexual), when looking through the show to see if any of the main characters COULD POSSIBLY be stretched to be ace, realize Reid FITS asexuality (and sometimes, to a lesser extent, aromanticism).
This does NOT mean that Reid doesn't ALSO fit other potential interpretations. Could Reid be bisexual/pansexual? Perhaps. Could Reid be, as the show defaults every single one of the main characters to being, heterosexual and interested in women? SURE.
But this meta essay isn't about those interpretations.
This meta essay is about: what if Reid could possibly be asexual?

Felicity had gone to the bank alone, but when the waiting took much longer than expected, Oliver decided to go over there to keep her company. They couldn’t imagine he would end up fighting for his life, nor predict how close they’d grow after their visit to the bank. Every story starts somewhere.

The young boys aren't the only Bravermans who need to adjust to a life they never would have imagined they'd be living, though.
Mark Cyr realizes that having children of his own just isn't as important to him as having Sarah Braverman as his wife.
And two other young women become "honorary" Bravermans before long.
Despite the tragic loss of one family member, it takes a whole hand worth of fingers to count all the new members they've gained.
