The peculiar case of the Chosen-One-trope in STAR WARS by lunatic_jellybear

Summary
The following is an investigation of how George Lucas uses the "Chosen One" trope in his six Star Wars movies.
Lots has been said already on the subject, but things are never as straight forward as they seem in Star Wars. Lucas' twists and subversions of this narrative device deserve a closer look and I have to admit, I always found it deeply fascinating how he cut that trope open and left it gutted on the floor in the end.

What is the will of the force? by lunatic_jellybear

Summary
“In my experience, there is no such thing as luck.”
A small series of Star Wars meta-posts centered around the question what we can learn about the force, if we take Obi-Wan by his word and assume that Lucas placed every plot point and narrative development in his movies on purpose. In this case the force functions as an in-universe explanation for a morality led movie-narrative. Which means the force becomes equal to the will of the artist who punishes the characters for what is considered wrong and rewards them for actions considered right.
What the force considers right and wrong, through, is one of the most wildly speculated about questions in the fandom. The following is my contribution to this discussion.

Summary
A piece of Star Wars Meta.
The text is looking at the usage of tropes and ideas from the classic "Faust"-Tragedy in Lucas' Star Wars movies.
The comparison conducted draws from J.W. Goethe's 1808 theater play "Faust - Eine Tragödie, Erster Teil" ("Faust - A Tragedy, Part One") and F.W. Murnau's 1926 silent movie "Faust - Eine deutsche Volkssage" ("Faust - A German Folktale").
A special focus is put on the practice of scene quotation which George Lucas uses extensively and from a wide range of sources throughout his cinematic works.Series

There is a number saved in Meng Yao’s phone. Meng Yao doesn’t remember it.
Here, a snapshot of spidery memory: the laugh of a stranger, the imprint of a hand on Meng Yao’s shoulder. Pressure against his mouth. The taste of skin. A dark braid crowning a perfect undercut, snaking down between powerful shoulders.
There is a number saved in Meng Yao’s phone, a number that isn’t there but which he scrolls past in his contact history regardless. Every time he tries pressing ‘call’, the number… un-knows itself.

Double Agent Vader by Fialleril
Fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types, Star Wars Original Trilogy

Summary
The one where Vader turned double agent for the Rebellion about three years after ROTS, and Leia is now his primary contact with the Rebellion.
This is a collection of oneshots that all fit into the same universe, but posted in no particular order. Updated when the muse strikes me.
Alternate summary, according to TV Tropes: A man attempts to escape slavery by turning into one of his culture heroes, teaching his daughter how to do magic, killing people, and flower arranging.
