“... nobody could be more unreserved than Scrap, once she let herself go." - The Enchanted April, Chapter 14
Lady Caroline loved once, and lost, and determined never to put herself through that again. And Lotty already found love, didn't she, even if it was with a man who (in Caroline's firm opinion) would never deserve her. That, really, should settle the matter.

Summary
“I’m not telling you you’re a failure. I’m not telling you there’s something wrong with you. I’m telling you that you aren’t a killer. Do you understand there’s nothing wrong with that?”
There are no second chances at the District 2 Career Program. You fail, you're out, no exceptions. Unless, of course, you can convince them otherwise.
13-year-old Devon passes all the tests to make it into full-time residential training, but flunks out on his sweet disposition and temperament. He has one shot to change their minds.
(a brief character study and exploration of the ways the Centre warps its children)

How do we sleep while our beds are burningIt's part not giving in
And part trusting your friends
You do it all again
But you don't stop trying
“You don’t even know me,” Latani says. It comes out much less sharp and a lot more helpless than she meant it to.
“Yeah, but.” Alinta turns to her, dark eyes glowing in the moonlight. “Sometimes you just know, right?”Latani and Alinta, behind the scenes and beyond.

My World's On Fire (How 'Bout Yours?): District 2 at War by kawuli, lorata, penfold, Xanify
Fandom: Hunger Games Series - All Media Types, Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins

Summary
Alma Coin's dictatorial tendencies don't go unnoticed by everyone; over the years, a faction splits from her rebellion and seeds itself through the districts. They have no resources, weapons, or strongholds, but they do have eyes and ears. And so they infiltrate and gather intelligence from both sides, waiting until the time when they can save Panem from President Snow and Alma Coin.
When Brutus is pulled from the 75th Arena and accidentally resuscitated by a squad of District 2 Peacekeepers, the second resistance takes a chance. Coin considers District 2 an acceptable sacrifice -- a convenient scapegoat, full of loyalist traitors -- but after all, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
A fix-it that isn't; nothing is rosy, nothing is easy, but maybe a few lives will be saved along the way. Follows canon through the Quarter Quell and diverges at "A District Upside Down".

Summary
Tributes, victors, mentors, people who love them. Their lives, their deaths; who remembers, who doesn't.
Character exploration, missing scenes and backstory for canon and original characters: how the District 2 Career Centre makes its tributes, how they win their Games and how their mentors put them back together. How some rebel, some don't and some never get the chance.
We grew up in golden light
Every chance to get it right
What did we do with it?It’s gone, what I had back then is gone
Can’t get it back againSorry for the things we should have done
Sorry for the kids we pushed too far
Sorry now for all the lonely hearts who can’t move on becauseWe waited
For love, for dreams in the night
For days to come when we’d be all right
I can’t remember why I did the things I did
I was just a kidAll the lines we knew back then, they now are faded
All the laws we once obeyed, they have betrayed us
People that I used to hate, I hardly remember
Forgive the children we once were
