There's a thousand stories out there of wedding-night kisses that involve superhuman canine teeth embedded in the carotid artery, a gift of eternal un-life in exchange for loss of humanity. But there are no stories about a honeymoon hospital stay and superhuman healing granted to save your wife from broken bones and an anesthetic allergy in exchange for primal hunger and a killer monthly cycle.

Carmilla Karnstein first took the job as an NYPD detective to help people and try to make a difference in the world but throughout her career she has seen the complexities of criminal justice unfold and has come to realize there is no black and white, no good versus evil, there’s an entire grey area that weighs on her heavily. The storm is only approaching now and it's one thing protecting herself but now her personal life and work are intertwining as Carmilla tries to make sure her strong willed, nosy, journalist wife stays out of trouble.
One story may be over, but the song doesn't end. A series of sequel one-shots set in the 'Vindicated' universe.
There have always been time travellers.
As far as humanity reaches back, there’ve been stories of the ones that can walk through time. No one knows much about them - there’s talk about creatures with too long limbs and too sharp teeth, claws instead of hands that can rip out hearts with a sweet-tongued prayer and the lines they write with their own blood to mark the things they change.
And change they do.
It is like a universal rule that the world requires balance and that consequently, every action leaves its traces.
(Laura has worn hers since birth.)
Laura keeps on meeting a mysterious girl everywhere and weird things happen as they try to figure out how they are connected to each other.
Hopefully before it kills them.
