Summary
There is no such thing as a guarantee when it comes to war.
The outcome's known. Why try?
Return your rusty sword to battered sheath,
bow your head and bend your stubborn knee. Why
take the field when you cannot win the war?
But Harry -- he went down to Agincourt.

A perfect thing. Aziraphale referring to Nightingale as 'Tommy' made me stare into the middle distance for a while.

Bookmarker's Notes
An incredible achievement. Top notch world building, three dimensional characters, and a thoroughly engrossing story. Has the un-put-downable quality of a Stephen King novel, which is high praise. Cannot recommend strongly enough.
